Introduction
The industrial training program was structured to offer a blend of offline and online
learning, catering to the diverse demands of the automotive industry. The offline component
focused on immersive experiences within an automotive garage, providing invaluable insights
into maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting procedures of various automotive systems.
Conversely, the online segment delved into the realm of computer-aided design (CAD) using
AutoCAD software, aimed at fostering proficiency in technical drafting, modeling, and
simulation.
Experience in Garage
The hands-on experience in the automotive garage provided invaluable insights
into maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting procedures for various automotive
systems. Through practical tasks, such as diagnosing engine issues, performing
routine maintenance, and understanding vehicle electronics, I gained a deeper
understanding of real-world automotive operations. Working alongside experienced
technicians, I developed essential skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and attention
to detail, essential for success in the automotive industry. Overall, the garage
experience was instrumental in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical
applications, enriching my understanding of automotive mechanics.
Tools Used in Garage
They’re especially widely used by professional or DIY/enthusiast mechanics in
both commercial and home garages, as many standard socket sets include
attachment sizings to suit the most common nut and bolt gauges on cars, trucks,
buses or other vehicles

Pliers are hand tools used for grasping, holding, cutting, or handling objects
efficiently, consisting of 2 metal levers that come together at a common point.

vehicles.

used tools in the workshop and at home. It is
used to loosen and tighten screws which have

AutoCAD windows
AutoCAD is a software application used for
computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting. It
runs on Windows operating systems, and its
user interface includes various windows such
as the drawing area, tool palettes, command
line, properties window, and more, to
facilitate the drafting and design process.
Tools of Autocad windows
1) Application cation Menu: Accessed by clicking the “A” icon, contains file-
related commands like open, save, and print.
2) Menu Bar: It has sauch tabs as Surface, solid, mesh and view amongs Others
for the case of 3D workshops.
3) Drawing Area: The main workspace where you create and modify your
drawings.
4) Ribbon: Contains tabs with various panels housing tools and commands
categorized by function.
5) Quick Access Toolbar: Customizable toolbar for easy access to frequently
used commands.

6)Info Centre: Provides access to help documentation, tutorials, and
online resources.
7)User Coordinates System(UCS): Which is tells you your
orientation in the drawing.
8)Command Windows: Allows you to type commands and input
parameters directly.
9)Status Bar: Provides information about drawing settings,
coordinates, and toggles for various modes.
Activities in AutoCAD windows
1) Drafting and Designing: 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical
components and assemblies.
• 2D Modling: 2D drafting and drawing is the process ofcreating and
editing technical drawings,as well asannotating designs.
• 3D Modling: 3D solid primitives are standard shapes that are provided
among the ribbon.optionson the 3D modeling workspace.

Activities in AutoCAD windows
1) Assembly Of Design :building complex assemblies by combining multiple
parts and ensuring proper fit and functionality using features like constraints
and mates.
2) Creating of Bill of Material: Data Extraction or by manually extracting and
organizing information from your drawings, such as dimensions, materials, and
quantities, into a spreadsheet format.

3) Computer-Aided Manufacturing: Integrating with computer-aided
manufacturing (CAM) software to generate toolpaths and instructions for machining
and fabrication processes.
4) Simulation and Analysis: Performing simulations and analyses such as stress
analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid flow simulations to evaluate the performance
and behavior of mechanical systems.

Conclusion
The industrial training in the automotive garage provided invaluable
practical experience and insights into the automotive repair industry. It
equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue a career in
automotive maintenance and repair.
The online AutoCAD training equipped me with valuable skills and
knowledge in computer-aided design, enhancing my capabilities for future
engineering and design projects. The self-paced nature of the training allowed
for flexibility in learning while providing a comprehensive understanding of
AutoCAD software and its applications.
