This document discusses finite and non-finite verbs. Finite verbs are limited by the number, person, and tense of the subject. Non-finite verbs are not limited in this way. The three types of non-finite verbs are infinitives, gerunds, and participles. Infinitives use "to" and act as nouns, adjectives or adverbs. Gerunds end in "-ing" and function as nouns. Participles can be present or past tense and act as adjectives, with present participles showing ongoing action and past participles showing completed action. Examples of each non-finite verb form are provided.
