1. Production CompaniesA production company is a company responsible for physical production of a film. The company may also be directly responsible for raising of funding for the production or may accomplish this through an emissary. The production company may be either a small company or a larger one, selling its products to a film studio or presenting it at the studio. Examples of famous production companies are Warner Bros, Paramount, Columbia, New Line Cinema.

2. Our Production CompanyWe looked at a few potential companies to choose to use. Paramount Pictures, Columbia, BBC Films and Lionsgate were all considered but we ended up choosing Miramax Films as our company. Miramax Films is an independent production company that have been producing films for 31 years. We thought they'd be ideal to use because they have produced many similar films to ours, such as Kill Bill Volume 1 & 2, No Country For Old Men, The Debt, The Crossing Guard, and many more. Also, Miramax Films are based in New York City in the U.S.A, which was perfect because we wanted our film to be American based.

3. Distribution CompaniesA film distributor is a company or individual responsible for releasing films to the public either theatrically or for home viewing (DVD, Video-On-Demand, Download, Television etc). A distributor may do this directly (if the distributor owns the theaters or distribution networks) or through theatrical exhibitors and other sub-distributors. Examples of well known distributing companies are Columbia Pictures, Cinema 16, Fox Films Corporation, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros.

4. Our Distribution CompanyWe decided to use Paramount Pictures as our distribution company. We wanted a big named distributor which would advertise & sell our film well. Paramount Pictures have distributed many successful films, many a similar genre to ours. Collateral, Enemy at the Gates, War of the Worlds and Cloverfield are all prime examples. I think Paramount Pictures would be very interested in our film because it seems to be the type of film that they usually go for.

5. Funding of Our FilmThe funding of our film is obviously a very important factor. We considered the problem, and we researched about similar film’s funding. Paramount Picture would hopefully give the film a big budget as long as it looked promising. Our budget target would be around £10-20million.
