Federal or  Delegated Powers Delegated Powers  – powers SPECIFICALLY given by the Constitution to the national (federal) government and are therefore sometimes referred to as EXCLUSIVE powers. ***Note delegated are not always necessary exclusive…but many are.
Three types of Delegated Powers Expressed  – Listed in the Constitution Implied  – Not listed but suggested Inherent  – Those powers that national governments have historically possessed  Examples:  Regulation of immigration
Concurrent Powers Powers shared between states and federal governments
Reserved Powers Powers not already given to the National government and not listed as powers the States may not have
