The document describes the layout and design choices for a features page in a music magazine. It focuses on featuring a new acoustic artist through a Q&A interview style piece. Key design elements include using the magazine's house colors of red and blue, with more blue to match the male artist. Text is laid out in two columns and short paragraphs to encourage reading. A mixture of serif and sans serif fonts add visual interest while appealing to both male and female readers. Photos include casual, posed shots to give a behind-the-scenes feel alongside more polished images.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. 3. Genres of music and representation of
artist
• I have chosen to feature a new artist, being
introduced with a Q&A style interview. I have
chosen to feature a new artist instead of a more
iconic, established artist as a new, young artist is
more likely to appeal and interest my audience
of 15-25 year olds.
• My magazine caters for all popular genres but
this double page spread has a focus on an
acoustic artist.
4. House colours
• The house colours for my magazine are red and
blue, I have concentrated on using blue in my
features page as it has connotations of being a
masculine colour and the artist model featured in
my double page spread is male, so the colour links
well with the artist.
• The folio in my features page contains the masthead
for my magazine, which shows my other house
colour of red. I chose to continue my house colours
throughout the magazine to establish a strong brand
identity.
5. Style features and Layout
• I have set out the copy in my features page in
two columns with small paragraphs, I have
chosen to do so as columning and paragraphing
gives the illusion of there being less text to read,
which would make my audience of 15-25 year
olds more inclined to read.
• I have kept my heading, subheading a pull quote
short so that they are more likely to be noticed
by my audience.
6. Language Style and Mode of Address
• The language style in my music magazine is fairly
colloquial, so the audience feels comfortable and at
home. But no slang is used so that the magazine is
suitable for a variety of classes.
• I have kept headings, subheadings etc, very to the
point and direct, avoiding exclamations and
sensational language.
• In the interview the artist is referred to by first name
to make the reader feel as if they know the artist
personally.
7. Typeface
• The typography used is a combination of sans serif and
serif. I have chosen to do this as the mixture of bold and
more fancy style fonts adds a fun, quirky feel to the
pages. Also the use of both serif and sans serif will
appeal to both men and women; men preferring the
more bold masculine fonts, and women being more
hooked by the more elaborate fonts.
• I chose to use some fonts with a ‘paint splattered’ effect
on them, as it adds more interest to the page and gives a
casual, laid back look. This also links in with my brand
identity as I have decided to include paint splatters as a
trait of the magazine. I had to make sure these fonts
were legible.
8. Photography Style
• I chose to have the images in the style of a photo
shoot. My photos used are a mixture of indirect
and direct address.
• There is a combination of spontaneous and
posed positions, the spontaneous poses give an
impression of a ‘behind the scenes’ aspect of the
artist, and the posed images give an impression
of a real star quality, popular artist, both types of
photograph would attract my target audience.
9. Layout of Images and Text
• I have put all of my images on one side of my page
and then the main copy on the other. This is a
popular layout for a features page used in music
magazines.
• I chose to use this layout as it was requested from
the results of an online survey I conducted.
• I feel this layout is successful as if all the images and
text were combined on both pages you may get the
impression of the pages being too cluttered. This
would not be successful as the style of my music
magazine is to have a very modern, spatial, clean-cut
look.
