Solution: To stop cheating and protect online exam integrity, MSU deployed Remote Proctor Pro
in its online zoology course as a proctoring option.

Model: To keep both costs and risks low, MSU implemented a‘rented’ payment arrangement
where students paid a fee upfront to use the device for the 7 weeks of class – and then received
their deposit back after returning the device.

Results:
 In a post-course survey, over 80% of the students said the Remote Proctor made cheating
either impossible or difficult. System closed the loopholes for dishonesty.
 Lowered cost compared to the in-person proctoring exam method.
 Harnessing technology with best practices for online course administration, the legitimacy of
the online class was maintained, allowing MSU to expand enrollment.
