Farewell my friend – JDG Jr.
It is with great sadness that I stand
in front of you today to celebrate
the life of my friend.
Last June 2, we were in Hundred
Islands with my staff, a treat to our
accountant who is also retiring. On
my way home, texts and calls
coming in telling me Jim is one of
the victim of RWM. I was shocked
and I would tell them I will verify
the info.
Also I utter a prayer, if you got the chance please come back.
Please come back and hoping it’s another guy. I called Arjay and
Rey responded we don’t know yet. Stef is in Manila she will
confirm the news.
The following day, stef called me to inform me it was really him as
she identified his remain from the funeral parlor. I even ask her
are you sure twice and she said yes. It was really sad for me
having known him 22 years ago.
It took me almost half day to compose my message to the sector
via our FB page.
From a humble beginning, SHSC metamorphosed into a
dependable economic institution in the region, By and Large, JDG
Jr. played a crucial and significant role to what SHSC today. Thank
you so much for making a difference in the lives of many people.
For being courage and bold to do what you believe is right
against all odds.
When Emmanuel Lopez the II, shared his tribute to Jim via Jessica
Soho’s program on June 4, I cried with him and also I thanked him
for his tribute and he said tour welcome as we both love Jim and
his good deeds.
Jim’s life was taken away from us too soon and it is hard to
understand why tragic things like this happen to such good
people. However, this is a question without an answer and we
should not dwell on the loss of our dear friend, today let’s
celebrate his life and remember all of the remarkable things Jim
accomplished and how wonderful his life was.
As a cooperative leader, he has always been there supporting us
whenever I requested his presence or assistance. He is full of life,
always smiling, caring, generous and thoughtful. The last five
years, when SHSC is growing fast, I have witnessed how he turned
the coop 360 degrees full of life, dreams to help his beloved coop,
and his community Galimuyod.
We all saw and heard his contributions to the community, the hog
farm, business center and the resort. This is his legacy and I
would agree he is also a local hero for his contributions to
Galimuyod.
Jim is also a simple person, very approachable and easy to deal
with. Thank you so much for the friendship, for your contribution
to the movement, the positive influence to your staff in many
ways. You will be missed dearly; your good deeds will never be
forgotten.
Whenever you are, you are most loved, respected and your legacy
is well appreciated and treasured. For your selflessness, for your
humility, for your kindness and most of all for your friendship, we
can’t thank you enough. Dear Lord May his soul RIP
Our condolences to Sally, Sofie and Nathan.
