2. Louis Pasteur (1822-1895): He was a
French chemist and microbiologist
renowned for his discoveries of the
principles of vaccination, microbial
fermentation and pasteurization.
3. Nobin Chandra Das (1845-1925): Indian sweet
maker who is created the iconic Bengali
sweetmeat “Rossogolla”/"Rasgulla”. Das
invented a novel method of processing the
chhana in boiling sugar syrup in his sweet shop
located at Sutanuti (present-day Baghbazar).
4. Coenraad Johannes van Houten (1801-1887):
Dutch chemist and chocolate maker known for the
treatment of cocoa mass with alkaline salts to remove the
bitter taste and make cocoa solids more water-soluble; the
resulting product is still called "Dutch process" chocolate. He
is also credited with introducing a method for pressing the
fat (cocoa butter) from roasted cocoa beans, though this was
in fact his father's invention.

He was the French inventor of air tight food preservation.
In honor of Appert, canning is sometimes called
"appertisation".

Swedish engineer who invented the milk separator and the
milking machine. However, the company he founded
marketed the first commercially practical milking machine in
the year 1918 after his death.

Inventor of ice cream soda in 1874. The traditional story is
that, on a particularly hot day, Mr. Green ran out of cold ice
for the flavored sodas he was selling and used vanilla ice
cream from a neighboring vendor, thus inventing a new
drink.
