The Symptoms Of Cushing s Syndrome
Cushing s Syndrome
Cushing s Disease or Cushing s Syndrome? Aren t they the same thing? What are they even?
Cushing s disease is a medical condition; a disorder of the pituitary gland causes it to create too
much ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) which in turn leads to overproduction of cortisol.
Cushing s Syndrome is a symptom of Cushing s disease; as well as of other conditions, whether
endogenous (originating from inside the body) or exogenous (originating from outside the body).
Pathophysiology and Etiology
Cushing s Syndrome is the result of overexposure to cortisol, a hormone normally secreted by the
adrenal cortex in a diurnal rhythm, with an increase in times of stress. In Cushing s Syndrome,
cortisol is secreted constantly with no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other factors that may increase the risk of Cushing s disease include obesity, type 2 diabetes,
poorly controlled blood sugar levels and high blood pressure. While none of these factors are a
direct cause of the condition, they are associated with higher prevalence of it. (Endocrine Society,
2016) Cushing s syndrome is most common in patients on high levels of steroid medications to
treat chronic inflammatory disorders. (Williams, L., Hopper, P., 2015)
Diagnostic Testing
Suspicion may initially result from the characteristic cushingoid appearance in addition to a
history of taking steroids. Levels of cortisol can be tested from saliva or a 24 hour urine
collection. Levels of ACTH in the blood are also measured, along with potassium. Additional tests
may be done to locate the cause, such as a tumor. (Williams, L., Hopper, P., 2015)
Complications
If untreated, Cushing s syndrome may result in bone loss leading to fractures, high blood pressure,
frequent or unusual infections, Type 2 diabetes, and loss of muscle mass and strength. (Mayo

The Case of Kelo v. City of New London
Eminent Dominant According to the facts, it seems that the sentiment of John (Cougar)
Mellencamp s hit in the 1984 fueled the controversies basing on the court s decision on June 23,
2005. The ruling stated that the local government or federal government was entitled to exercise
eminent dominant rules to enable them acquire private propertyand utilize it for purposes of
economic development. Eminent domainalso referred to as condemnation, is the act of taking
private property and making it public property by the local governing authority, state, or federal
government (Bradley 65). The private property taken away is converted to public property for
public use. With reference to the case of the Kelo v. city of New London, the court ruled that the
government should take private property through eminent domain for public use. This is due to the
provisions of Fifth Amendment of the U.S constitution. New London, Connecticut, could exercise
eminent domain for economic development. New London, Connecticut, was experiencing hard
economic times majorly due to the closure of the U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center, which
was the major employer in the region. This prompted a decrease in the tax base and population in
general. This made the city leaders desperate for some development in the city s economy.
Afterwards, a pharmaceutical giant Pfizer started to construct a facility used for research in the
outskirts of New London. This was the only chance for the city to activate the

Abstract It has been indicated in previous epidemiological research that there is an elevated risk
of death for police officers in relation to the general population. The shorter life span can be
pinned down to several different causes. The Goal of this paper was to compare the life expectancy

Cardiovascular diseases negatively affect the heart or blood vessels of the body. One of these
diseases is known as Atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is a disease that causes the hardening and
narrowing of the arteries. Heart attacks and strokes await those that have these diseases (Joseph
et al., 2009). Atherosclerosis can be caused by high blood pressure, smoking, and high
cholesterol. Endothelium are a thin layer of cells that are supposed to keep the inside of the
arteries smooth promoting healthy blood flow. When the endothelium is damaged and bad
cholesterol moves past this area it collects. This causes plaque to form in the arteries restricting
the flow of blood. There was a case study (Violanti, Vena, Patralia, 1998) between the dates of
1950 and 1990 where 40 police officers were examined to collect data on their health and life
span. The information from this research suggested there are lower mortality rates amongst the
U.S. general population vs those in Law enforcement. Arteriosclerotic heart disease deaths were
elevated in law enforcement officers with service times of 10 19 years and represented the
majority of excess deaths amongst those with circulatory disease. The average age of death for the
officers in this study is

The Between Europeans And Native Americans
The interactions between Europeans and Native Americans have not always been positive. There
are numerous difference that interactions between the two groups. Europeans were known as a
group that during the 16th and 17th century, made a great deal of change with their religious
views. They were once without religion, but were known to turn to sects like Christianity and
Puritanism. The Native Americans were a group known to be without religion. These people did
not believe it one God and a book to follow. They believed in various higher beings that oversaw
things like hunting, crops and sacrifices. These spirits didn t represent a sense of hope or
something to look forward as did being a Christian. William Bradford and Mary White Rowlandson
were two religious people who came from England to the new world in order to seek new
opportunities in their religious pilgrimage. Upon their arrival to Massachusetts, they lived in
settlements were next to Native establishments. Both women told stories of the horrors that the
Natives put upon them. William Bradford s belief is Puritanism lead him on a voyage with others
to Massachusetts. His encounter with the Natives, although not completely negative, was bias
based on his beliefs. In England, the social structure was completely different then that of the
Native Americans. In Chapter XIV, Bradford noted different customs he noticed that the Natives
portrayed. The natives shared land among each other. The chief was said to assign land

Memory And Deep Memory
During her talk, Ethel Sternberg said that it made her very happy when students took her memories
and stored it in the back of their heads. Her words directly relate to Charlotte Delbo s
differentiation between common and deep memory and how this impacts readers of the Holocaust.
Common memory refers to works that are a factual retelling and more importantly, leave the reader
undisturbed by the work. On the other hand, deep memory leaves an impression and affects the
reader in some capacity. One of the challenges that a Holocaust survivor faces when writing about
their experiences is invoking this deep memory. Ethel Sternberg referred as storing it in the back
of their heads while Delbo always repeated, Il faut donner Г voir or that they must be made to see .
In order to transmit a sense of the unthinkable, such as the ambiguity of their survival and the
reason for the Holocaust, writers have to make the reader feel the uncomfortable reality of this
historical event. Authors such as Delbo, Appelfeld, Pagis, and Foer accomplish this by directly
engaging their reader by offering no solution to the Holocaust and concluding on an ambivalent
note. In this way, these writers elicit deep memory by not offering an answer to the Holocaust and
forcing their readers to reconsider the ambiguous qualities of their writings.
In Auschwitz and After, Delbo s Marie Louise establishes the issue of common memory and how
individuals will assume that they understand the Holocaust. The

The Effects of Greek Theatre on Women
Effect of Greek Theatre on Women
Theatre is the art that shaped the Hellene culture, and that is the single most influential culture that
shaped the world (Germal 57) . The people of ancient Greece, known as the people Hellenes, were
responsible for many firsts, theatre being among them. Theatre and other arts flourished in ancient
Greece between 550 BCE and 220 BCE. Its geographic influence was momentous, spanning
through parts of modern day Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Spain, and France. These productions were
showcased and funded by the government, making them accessible to all citizens. This allows for
an accurate portrayal of Greek culture due to the large amount of people that experienced it, as it
was an integral part of their culture, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This ever changing people s history is left in the few remaining volumes the works of comedy,
tragedy, and satire (____________90) .
One of the earliest Greek records of satire can be traced to around 500 B.C. Early Greek satires (
Satyrs or Satyric dramas ) were in essence comedy plays, usually fairly bawdy, and often
involved men dressed as Satyrs (clearly the root of the word Satyric). Satyrs were mythological
creatures with the upper half of a man and the bottom half of a goat or horse. Satyr was one of
three forms of Athenian drama, nestling comfortably as a new genre alongside tragedy and
comedy. Satyr was quickly developed between the writers Pratinas, Aristeas, and Aeschylus. These
new Satyrs did not begin life as fully developed features they were instead used as interval pieces
to relieve the seriousness of tragic plays. These comic pieces, counterpointing and parodying the
tragedy, became extremely popular devices and led to the extension of the form.
Ancient Greek comedy was one of the final three principal dramatic forms in the theatre of
classical Greece (the others being tragedy and the satyr play). Athenian comedy is conventionally
divided into three periods, Old Comedy, Middle Comedy, and New Comedy. Old Comedy
survives today largely in the form of the eleven surviving plays of Aristophanes, while Middle
Comedy is largely lost, i.e. preserved only in relatively short fragments in authors such as
Athenaeus of Naucratis. New Comedy is known

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Gm Food
Food is a quintessential part of life, as we eat food every day, from breakfast to dinner. Food
provides our basic needs to support our body. Over the years, erratic climate changes have posed a
significant threat to our supply of food. However, engineering science had allowed us to used
Gene guns and Vat to grow foodartificially, illuminating the threat to an unstable food supply,
without nature affecting it. Scientists have discovered that by modifying its DNA, it could be
stronger, more resilient, grow faster. It is named as genetically modified, also named as GM.
However, there are concerns that GM food isn t safe. In this essay, I will discuss the pros and cons

GM food could grow anywhere, it is cheaper than normal food, which will mean commonly

Kong government will have to support them with the Hong Kong free healthcare system.
Therefor GM food directly increases the cost of the Hong Kong government. Compared to the
cost of checking and labelling GM food, not doing this seems costlier over time and more people
suffer from serious GM food related diseases. Therefore, without GM food labelling, this could
befall its citizens. A possible solution may be a two pronged approach. Firstly, raise awareness
about the dangers of GM food, with commercials to educate citizens about risks of GM food.
Secondly, the government should create a legislation labelling all GM products being sold in HK.
This should reduce the financial burden of those who may suffer from GM related illnesses as well
as Hong Kong s healthcare expenditure. After all, shouldn t a government s aim to protect its

Video Games Promote Violence And Sexual Aggression
Over the past few decades, video games have rapidly evolved from simple games like Pac Man
and Tetris to complex interactive media platforms popular with people of all ages. As video games
skyrocketed in popularity, so have public attention and research studies alongside them. The
controversial issue of video games promoting violenceor sexual aggression is currently still being
hotly debated by educated people from both sides of the argument. However, there is
compelling evidence which proves that themes of violence in video games do indeed affect
violent tendencies in the real world, including but not limited to forms of sexual aggression
towards women due to the objectification of female characters in video games. In Grand Theft
Auto V, players are awarded a prostitute s money once they kill her and forced to enact a torture
session on someone to extract information from him; in the Call of Duty Franchise, players are
prompted to gun down and bomb innocent civilians. These games are only a few examples of
exposure to violence in a rising media form. Considering that upward[s] of 90 percent of
American children between the ages of 2 and 17 play video and computer games regularly (Funk,
1993), the high content of violence in video games should be re evaluated. Though not all violence
in video games is depicted seriously, most of the top selling video games (89%) [contain] violent
content (Knowles et. al, 2001). There have been thousands of studies indicating a

Jonson s Poetry Ap English Drama
Poet Ape signifies Somebody who aped artists ; at the end of the day a terrible would be artist.
Along these lines Sir Philip Sidney said in his The Defense of Poesy The cause why it is not
regarded in England is the blame of writer ape, not of artists . Jonson in his plays twice utilized
the term of performers who sought to compose verse, yet an artist primate could be anybody. So
it isn t right to expect, as some have, that the writer primate of Jonson s saying was fundamentally
a performer. He has regularly been thought to be Shake Speare. I question this since Shake Speare
did not purchase the inversion of old plays, aside from potentially to king John and Hamlet, and
did not appropriate to the degree the saying charges. Some have proposed... Show more content on

Inconspicuous, clever, and charming, these regularly appreciated verses show up at an easygoing

forcefully unique readings over late years. There is proceeding with difference among pundits
about the tone and reality of the succession, about the unique situations (scholarly, authentic, and

frameworks of the account which these apparently straightforward verses apparently unfurl. Part
of the issue in perusing the Charis sonnets lies definitely in that pressure between their account
and verse capacities: between a perspective of the lyrics as constituting, a solitary, ceaseless, and
naturally related entire the story which the writer declares in the opening sonnet and then again
ten discrete verse pieces to be freely relished and caught on. A fairly comparable pressure is to
be found inside the ten pieces on Lady Venetia Digby which make up the succession Eupheme ,
set in appearing to be balance to the Charis ballads close to the finish of The Underwood: and
inside those bigger gatherings of ballads, the Epigrams and The Forest, in Jonson s 1616 folio. 1 In
these cases, lyrics composed at various circumstances

He was a quick learner but even still Charles was very hard on him. Again! he would yell, over

would make William train late into the night. For better or for worse this made william an
excellent swordsman. This made him cocky and often picked fights with the other squires at the
castle and handedly beat them all. Sir Charles was not happy about this and began to teach him
what it really meant to be a knight. The code of chivalry was held in high regard among knights
and William often had to be brought in line. As william grew older, his feeling for lady Mary

Speech On Emotional Support Animals
The National Service Animal Registry defines an emotional support animal as, a person s pet that
has been prescribed by a person s licensed therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist, they state that The
animal is part of the treatment program for this person and is designed to bring comfort and
minimize the negative symptoms of the persons emotional/psychological disability, (All About).
Emotional support animals have a huge list of responsibilities they can take on and learn to help
their owner. These animals require minimal training and their jobs are specifically tailored to what
their owner needs to maintain their mental health. Still these animals have less rights than service
animals. Still, they have laws protecting them and their owners. My brother and I each have our
own emotional support animals that provide us with their multiple skills that help keep us mentally
safe.
Emotional support animals can take on a multitude of jobs that may include reminding the handler
to take medicine, providing safety checks or room searches, or turning on lights for persons with
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, interrupting self mutilation by persons with dissociative identity
disorders, and keeping disoriented individuals from danger, (Brennan). These animals are often
considered pets but are actually so much more than that, emotional support animals have a very
important role in protecting the mental health of their owners and keep them safe. Not only do
these animals protect people s mental health but they also give people a purpose. Taking care of
one of these dogs or other animals gives people something to take care of and focus on. Knowing
that there is another living thing that relies on them can be very grounding and keep people
connected to something outside of themselves.
Emotional support animals have way less rights than service animals. Emotional support animals
are still often considered just pets making them not allowed in most public places with their owner,
despite their importance. This is not to say that they are given no rights, there are still laws
protecting them and ensuring that people can keep access to their emotional support animals. One
of the main rights given to people with these

Medical Technology, Doctors, And Patients
Audience:People in the medical technology industry, doctors, and patients in need of prosthetics,
augmentations, or implants.
Rhetorical Situation: A doctor prescribes an MRI non compatible implant like a pacemaker
because it is cheaper for the patient in the moment. However, in the long run this will cost more to
keep maintained, and is obviously harder to monitor. It also creates an issue for any other medical
problems that might arise which need MRI scanning. A doctor could, in this case, advocate for a
more advanced implant rather than the cheapest option for the patient or the first option. Doctors
should be advocating for higher technology, and not immediate cost effectiveness. Sometimes the
harder decisions are the better ones in the long run. For instance, a woman who had only half of
her foot amputated due to injury opted to amputate more of her leg due to years of discomfort with
her old prosthetic. Her life experience improved drastically with the advanced prosthetic.

Long Beach Erosion
Throughout history, the coastline of Sandy Bay has been subject to erosion. The areas focussed
on in this study are Nutgrove and Long Beach. Erosion was first documented in this area in
1813. Sea level rise and the increase in the frequency and severity of weather events is currently
having an impact on the land cover of both Nutgrove and Long Beach and this is erosion is likely
to increase as time passes and climate change progresses.
In an attempt to combat erosion and interest more people in visiting this area an ongoing project
has been implemented along Long Beach and Nutgrove Beach. The project aims to reduce the
rate of erosion and make the area a desirable place for people to visit for many years to come. One

Along Nutgrove Beach vegetation management has been implemented to prevent and reduce future
erosion. This has been done by planting plants in the dunes in the hope of the plants trapping the
sand and preventing further erosion. As well as vegetation management to protect the dunes, a
fence has also been assembled in front of the dunes to prevent people from accessing the dunes and
causing further erosion to the dunes and damaging the vegetation. This has been successful and has
significantly reduced the extent of the erosion of the sand dunes at Nutgrove Beach.
Around the foreshore of both Long Beach and Nutgrove Beach, rocks have been added to the
foreshore to prevent further erosion of the beach. This has been successful in reducing the amount
of sand that is drawn out to sea.
The waves flowing up onto the beach have caused sand to wash up into the areas where there are
stairs coming down from the seawall. This clearly highlights the force of the waves and the
movement of the sand that is occurring as a

Advanced demand planning technology surpasses spreadsheet based efforts by calculating the best
possible demand prediction based on several inputs, including past performance of related products
or unrelated products that share key attributes in addition to any data generated by pre launch
market testing. According to Gartner, New product launch forecasting is overly reliant on sales and
marketing for demand inputs. Opportunities exist to remove forecast bias by utilizing attribute
modeling techniques and solutions that use similar product introductions to understand consumer
/ customer trial and repeat, as well as volume build assumptions, to improve the forecast. Sell In,
Sell Through, and Maturation The demand profile ramps up as introductory promotions,
advertising support, and word ofmouth combine to create an initial strong demand, then dips as the
sell through period gives way to the maturation phase, with its own promotions and marketing
programs attempting to shape demand over time. As the product life cycle unfolds, the demand
planning solution compares actual demand versus the forecast. Statistical matching algorithms can
be used to determine just how significantly actual demand has deviated from the prediction. The
predictive accuracy of other demand profiles can be compared, and when a different profile
provides a better match to the actual demand signal, it is swapped into play.

Historically, workers migrate to cities in search of employment and upward mobility, as
demonstrated by many cities migration patterns in the early twentieth century as a result of the

In 1642, Rembrandt composed The Night Watch, which is the background of the controversy
surrounding Rembrandt s later years. This painting is one which portrays thirty four total figures,
two of which were important members of a militia at the time, Willem van Ruytenburch and
Frans Banning Cocq. Now, because Rembrandt was proficient at his lighting and shading skills,
and the way he incorporated light and darkness to focus on certain aspects of his work, this piece
focuses on these two, but also shared by a young girl wearing yellow in the background, and
these three are the central focuses in this specific work. Eighteen members of this militia total
commissioned and paid 1,600 guilders to complete The Night Watch. Back then, this was a
tremendous amount of money. There are rumors that speculate around this painting, and one of
the most profound is that the people who commissioned him to do this painting hated it and
were disgusted by it. Some say this was the turning point in his life because he lost a lot of
respect because of the feedback he got, and apparently lead more and more people to not

not a downfall to him, experts still ponder the possibility of this leading him to a downfall. Being

Spotify provides a lot of benefits to the artists and music industry: reduce illegal download, expend
the life span of music, and provide the listeners the opportunities to consume music in the legal

manner. They argue that they pay for the value of music (royalty) and legally provide music for
listeners to enjoy music. According to Spotify s financial report, they pay a lot of amount of
royalties to have right to stream music in their

Nuclear Weapons Be Abolished
Should nuclear weapons be abolished? How would removing and prohibiting nuclear weapons
change the world? Well, When it comes to abolishing or getting rid of nuclear weapons;
particularly, nuclear bombs or warheads mounted on a long range ballistic missile; There is
plenty of controversy and argument over this topic. The world has had plenty of instances
where if nuclear bombs were not in play, The situation would have been a more peaceful
experience. But speaking in long term effects, How would not having and nukes around truly
change the world? And how would it effect the history of mankind? When it comes to the pros
with ridding the earth of powerful nuclear weaponry, people who prefer them gone believe this
would influence a more peaceful future for humanity, And create a safer world for the
generations to come. This would take years to accomplish and plenty of negotiations with other
nations, But the end result would be a huge step towards world peace. The smaller weaker and
poorer nations around the world would feel less worried about getting picked on by richer and
larger countries. People who believe the banning of nukes would greatly reduce and chances of an
all out nuclear war ravishing the earth with radiation, And ending the lives of millions if not
billions of men, women, and children. A nuclear war could have the potential of creating a
apocalyptic world devastating all nations who live on it to nothing but ashes, and leaving only
pieces of what used to

Isbell s Argument Analysis
Another way Isbell weakens his argument is through verb usage. Much of his article is written in
the subjunctive mood and uses verbs in the present perfect tense, which makes the article more
informative than persuasive. For example, he writes It is possible to place the learning examples
discussed above on a continuum of sorts... His use of subjectivity weakens his statements,
undermining the overall claim. Although in a professional field like educationthere are areas where
it is appropriate to acknowledge controversy or uncertainty, Isbell s frequent avoidance of stating
information as known, even when acceptable, creates a weakness throughout his article. Though he
attempts to be impartial, it undermines his efforts to prove his claim.... Show more content on

The concluding paragraph of the article indicatively restates and explains the claim, saying, it
will require music teachers who are smart, savvy, sensitive, and skilled. This is a strong
persuasive statement, and the rest of the conclusion is clear and powerful as well. If the rest of
the paper had supported Isbell s arguments, the conclusion of the article would serve as a final
repetition of an effectively proven claim. However, the rest of the article causes the conclusion to
work adversely, highlighting the flaws in Isbell s argument. In seeing the facts so clearly
explained, readers question what proof was given to support the ideas, and in retrospect, the lack
of support is evident to the readers. The writing becomes persuasive at the end of the article, but it

What Is The Categorical Imperative
Immanuel Kant s seminal work, the Grounding for the Metaphysics of Morals and its subsequent
On a Supposed Right to Lie because of Philanthropic Concerns , ushered in a new era of critical
thinking on morality and will through his development of the categorical imperative. However, his
thoughts behind the categorical imperative that is, that all moral concepts and thus the categorical
imperative comes a priori in reason (Kant 22) are flawed in the belief of reason existing at all.
That is to say that Kant s attempted proof to show that morals come a priori in reason is flawed in
the assumption that humans can reason at all. As well, his attempt to show the categorical
imperative in action (through his example of lying) is also flawed and essentially unable to be
proved through the demonstration of the first point. Finally, the... Show more content on

For an exemplary leader, what is one of the highest compliments that you could ever receive? Sir

subject constantly on one s mind or routines must be followed correctly and/or on time. The
benefit for the Endurance s crew to have an obsessive man as Shackleton was that he was ready
for the unexpected, and his crew s safety was the utmost important topic for him. With
Shackleton s obsessive nature, he made a very specific routine for the men to follow; at exactly

6:00 pm, dinner was served. Between the meals, the men did chores such as, cleaning the ship
and melting ice for drinking water. Such a precise and stringent following of a routine gave the

Shackleton s mind from the moment everyone abandoned the Endurance. Shackleton stopped all
unnecessary activities that posed a risk to crew safety; for example, he stopped Macklin and

unpredicted safety drills for cracking of their ice floe which could happen at any moment.

Discussion:
MSUD is a disorder of BCAAs metabolism with a frequency of 1/185,000 live newborns all over
the world, while incidence is quite high in Eastern part Pennsylvania as high as 1 in 200(1). It is
an autosomal recessive hereditary metabolic disorder is due to defective oxidative
decarboxylation of the branched chain alphaketoacids (BCKAs) derived from transamination of
the the BCAAs, valine, leucine and isoleucine. The oxidative decarboxylation of this BCKAs is
catalyzed by the branched chain alphaketoacid dehydrogenase (BCKDH) complex(2). These

exchange transfusions, peritoneal dialysis, and continuous hemofiltration have been utilized in
neonates with MSUD. All this modalities has varying success in reducing systemic BCAA
levels(6). MSUD is very rare in most populations worldwide, published reports of diagnosis and
treatment of MSUD usually involve only a few patients and most have focused on management of
the acute illness. As a result, reaching an agreement about various management issues has been

Relationship Between a Country s Economic Growth and Its...
Economic growth is the increase in the capacity of a country s economy to produce goods and
services. As a means of development and urbanisation, and a reflection of wealth and the living
standard in a nation, it remains a key focus of most governments. In this course of action, water
bodies may be polluted and contaminated due to waste (e.g. sewageand chemical waste) generated
from different sectors of the economy. However, water pollutionis not inevitable despite a country s
focus on economic growth, and in fact can be mitigated and controlled.A prominent example
would be that of Singapore. Singapore is a highly developed market economy, with the 3rd highest

Industrial wastewater is to be treated to specified standards regulated by the the Environmental
Protection and Management (Trade Effluent) Regulations before being discharged into a sewer or
watercourse. Furthermore, to ensure that these standards are met, industries which generate large
quantities of acidic effluent, such as the aforementioned photochemical industries, are required to
install devices to monitor the acidity of discharge into public sewers. The PUB has also installed a
system to monitor the amount of chemicals in the sewers. Laws have been enacted such that
offenders who do not meet such requirements and cause water pollution via improper disposal of
untreated wastewater will be fined and jailed for up to 3 months, acting as an effective deterrent.
Therefore, it is evident that water pollution is not an inevitable result of economic growth (caused
by the chemical industry), as demonstrated in the example of Singapore, and through proper
management and treatment of waste products, the fate of water pollution can in fact be controlled.
With economic growth comes an increased quality of life including one s living environment etc.
This brings about greater access to products and facilities which will culminate in an increased
consumption of goods and ultimately, a larger percentage of domestic waste. 6.5

Should Clowns Be Allowed To Wear On Halloween
Clowns costumes shouldn t be allowed to wear on Halloween, especially with all the rumors and
scare tactics that are going on today about them. Clowns are supposed to be someone who
participates in the circus and wears funny makeup and try to make people laugh. The more you

films such as Stephen King s It have highlighted those fears, and the killer clowncraze currently

Narrative Essay On The Eiffel Tower
I woke up thinking about the contest again, but I pushed it aside and got ready to go touring
again and today we were going to the Eiffel Tower. We headed out at 10:00am and drove there in
a cab, we arrived and the view from our room was no match to the real deal, it was outstanding
and a lot bigger than I imaged too. We got in line for tickets and it didn t take to long, so we
found our tour guide, so that she could take us up in it, I was nervous and excited at the same
time because I don t like heights, but I do love scenery. We went up in an elevator to the first
floor or the first platform and let me tell you,it was as beautiful as a thousand roses, literally,
there was thousands of roses everywhere, it was magnificent. After a while we got back on the
elevator to go to the top and on the way up the tour guide told us that it is about 108 floor tall,
twice the size of the one is Vegas. The elevator stopped and we stepped out. The breeze was
perfect and so was the weather, we walked out to a telescope and plopped in a quarter. All I could
say was wow, my mom and dad were almost speechless too. Once we got up there I realized i
wasn t afraid anymore, hopefully the contest was going to be the same way, I took it all in,
along with a thousand photos my mom took of us and everything else. We kept looking at
everything, it was like nothing I ve ever experienced before, it was perfect and so delicate, words
were not enough to explain it. The city was busy and all the cars and people looked like ants, the
park around us was perfect, the grass, the trees everything seemed so perfect around us, at least
until it started to pour rain. We ran into the elevator and luckily there was enough room for all of
us because there were people who didn t get in and i was sure they were drenched by now. After
some time we got to the bottom and ran to our cab as fast as cheetahs, but it didn t matter, we
were drenched as well. We got in our cab and drove to our hotel to change and dry off. We
wandered the hotel after we changed, to look at all the paintings and statues. It stopped raining after
a little while and we decided to go shopping around the boutiques, the look of the boutiques made

The Specific Learning Disability
Under IDEA (2004), Disproportionality continues to exist in several categories listed, especially the
categories of the Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Emotional Disturbance (ED), and Intellectual
Disability (ID) ,(Gamm, 2007). Disproportionality is defined as the overrepresentation and under
representation of a particular population or demographic group in special or gifted education
programs relative to the presence of this group in the overall student population (National
Association for Bilingual Education, 2002). So many factors are responsible for this
disproportionality, but the key factors, as apparent from researchers are; (1) gender difference, (2)
overrepresentation of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse CLD population, (3) unsuccessful
teaching approaches, (4) poor classroom management skills, and (5) assessment policies and
practices. The gender difference is one of the key factors responsible for disproportionate in many
categories listed under IDEA. Researches show that greater numbers of male students are
recognized with special needs than female students. Across all ethnic and racial groups, twice as
many males as females are recognized as needing special educationservices in primary schools,
specifically in certain categories (Holt, McGrath, Herring, 2007). These categories are SLD, ED,

Diction Of Tupac s Poetry
Modernism has been overwhelmed with works empathizing helplessness and depression. While
modern poets often tell the truth about life s difficulties, the product of this often results in
discouraging millennial interest in the art. In contrast to the helpless of other poets, Tupac
Shakur exhibits defiant resolutions in his poems. Shakur s diction exhibits a necessary
component when discussing historical and sociological aspects: he shows his audience how to
overcome adversity. As a poet, Shakur s work is a direct reflection of his life. He blends every
aspect of his life together everything from gang violence to poverty and displays it to his
audience, Now Tupac had a difficult childhood, moving frequently around the New York City

politics, but he also witnessed some of the hardships of life. His mother, she was struggling from

members forced him to see different aspects of life. Many of his poems, such as Life Through

poverty and violence, many of the schools where he lived offered poor education. Tupac managed

Masculinity And Femininity
Although complementary, the stories told about masculinity and femininity have very different
impacts on those that feel pressured to conform to them, or are subject to experience their effects
by others who do. A particularly insidious source of these stories comes from advertisements, as
noted by Jean Kilbourne in Killing Us Softly 4 (2010). She quotes a statement by the editor in
chief of an advertising magazine that only 8% of an ad s message is received by the conscious
mind. The rest is worked and reworked deep within the recesses of the brain . The internalization of
the messages from these advertisements unwittingly teaches men and women what is expected of
them, and what is desirable. For women, it is taught that femininityrequires flawless beauty, with
unnaturally smooth skin (preferably light toned), shiny hair, dimple free curves cinched by a tiny
waist, and a graceful demeanor. It is taught that women must pursue this image, whether it be
through the purchase of cosmetics or surgical procedures, or diet products and exercise programs.
These advertisements often depict women as having elegance and sensuality in their passiveness
lounging around as they enjoy beauty products or indulgent foods, or draped upon powerful men.
They must act as though they enjoy being objectified; welcoming men s advances, even in violent
or dangerous situations. In contrast, men in advertisements are encouraged to model masculinity
through violence, dismissal of emotions in

The Central Lesson By Jack Welch
Thesis The central lesson the author, Jack Welch, is trying to teach is how to win in the
business and corporate world from usually the point of view of a CEO or manager. Winning
companies are the only things that count because losing has no value to anyone. As I read the
book, I came to the reasoning that Welch s major lesson here is that a business and its CEO will
win through candor. Candor had its own chapter but was also mentioned throughout the whole
book, highlighting that candor takes part in every aspect he discussed in business in order to win.
Candor is part of hiring, firing, Six Sigma, budgeting, leadership, and several other aspects. Most
importantly though, it is essential to strategy a significant topic discussed in this course. Welch
defines candor as the biggest dirty little secret in business . He argues that candor has hurt firms, in
which they could have been better off and he is speaking internally, not the external competition.
Candor leads to winning by: getting more people in the conversation which develops rich ideas;
creating speed, meaning it is right there and then where you can debate quickly; and, it decreases
costs such as those long boring meetings discussing known information (27). It really caught my
attention how Welch commented that the lack of candor comes from our childhoods and
backgrounds where we know that staying quiet helps us avoid troubles, messes, awkwardness,
rejection, more work, and the like. How does one overcome

Biological Weapons And Its Uses
Introduction
Dating back to the 1100 s there have been records of the use of biological weapons in warfare.
This involved the usage of human and animal corpses to pollute water sources and to spread
diseases. Post World War One increased interest in biological weapons lead to them becoming
more advanced. With this improvement it is evident that warfare has evolved. This progression
in warfare can be seen when looking at the manner in which wars were fought prior to the
introduction of biological weapons in the 1100 s, and comparing it to the manner in which they
were fought succeeding the advancement of these weapons in the 1900 s. Although biological
weapons have rarely been used, their effects on warfare are apparent. When studying biological
weapons one must deliberate on the factors that have driven its use and creation as well as the
responses and threats thereof. This essay will therefore focus on depicting biological weapons and
their uses throughout history; beginning with its most medieval applications in siege warfare and
comparing it to its various uses in World War One, Japan in the 1920 s , the Cold Warand the
Persian Gulf War. The reasons as to why biological weapons have been used and created differ in
each circumstance, ranging from its advantageousness in imperialism to its role in instilling fear.
Furthermore, to properly determine the impact of biological weapons on warfare this essay will
examine the outcomes of its use. With the main response being the

The Success Of Luxury Brands
Luxury brands should be able to effectively create some emotional connection with its customers
and should not strive to please mass markets, but specifically to only those customers whose
beliefs align with the brands. Beliefs go further to establish a connection than just brand values;
they are more specific and consequently lead to higher diversification (Keller et al, 2008). Ferrari
provides a good example of this. An Italian luxury sports car manufacturing company, according to
BrandFinance it is the 9th most powerful brand in the world (Global 500, 2015). It has strong
beliefs in performance and therefore does not participate in mass media marketing, yet instead
decides to focus on its participation in Formula 1 events and has... Show more content on

Like Chanel, luxury brands should strive to achieve as broad a spectrum of icons associated with
their brand as possible (Peterson, 2014).
The place(s) in which the brand is sold is a vital aspect of luxury branding success. If a brand can
create an atmosphere that is aesthetically and emotionally pleasing, then it evokes luxury to its
customers. One example of this is men s bespoke shirt maker, Charvet Place VendГґme, often
referred to as simply Charvet. Situated in the one of the hГґtels particuliers (the French equivalent
to a grand British townhouse) that surrounds the Place VendГґme in Paris. The Charvet store
operates across seven floors within this building. This store epitomises elegance and grandeur and
as such, Charvet have created a temple like store, for which their customers can enjoy their
products, allowing for a deeper more emotional connection to the brand itself (Mr Porter, 2015).
Customers are pulled towards brands with the promise of becoming part of an exclusive
community. This creates a sense of great desire to purchase luxury branded products. For example,
Hermes, which specialises in leather, lifestyle accessories, fragrance, ready to wear clothing as
well as other luxury goods, will not allow customers to buy their iconic handbags until they have
formed a long term relationship with the brand itself (Grigorian and

Cosmological Arguments On The Existence Of A God
For thousands of years man has pondered a question. A question that is very important as the
answer affects everything that mankind knows about morality, the universe, and the meaning of
life itself. This question has been asked by men and women from all walks of life and it would
seem that for every question answered concerning this topic a dozen more arise. Philosophers to
Scientists to Kings have all pondered this question and this question is whether or not God exists.
Now there are various conceptions of God within philosophy, but the most simple and widely
accepted definition would likely be a metaphysically necessary being. That will be the definition of
God for this paper. Numerous arguments have been put forth for and against the existenceof a God,
and some can be grouped together according to their type. Examples of these arguments range from
teleological arguments to axiological arguments to cosmological arguments (to name a few). The
following paper will focus on cosmological arguments, in particular the Argument from
Contingency. Ancient philosophers would look at the stars and would marvel at their beauty and
would point to their structure as an indication of the order within the universe. These ancient
thinkers would take this as a sign of the existence of gods/god. With time came those who put forth
arguments that drew from what was seen in the night sky to argue for the existence of their god
/gods. Notable names like Plato and Aristotle are just a few

The image of women in the Eightieth
The environment is having a very big effect to people surrounded by it. The way parents treated
their child will have a direct influent on whom and what they want to become in the future. The
relations of people to a person might lead that person to their ruin. From A Rose For Emily and
The Yellow Wallpaper , we can see very clearly the evident that lead these women to their tragic
ending. In A Rose For Emily by William Faulkner, a noble woman being isolated from people in

that for three days, with the ministers calling on her, and the doctors, trying to persuade her to

dark, ready man, with a big voice and eyes lighter than his face. (page 487), she fell in love with
him. However, people thought that it is a disgrace to the town and a bad example to the young
people because they Emily was a Southerner while Homer was a Northerner and also a laborer:
Of course a Grierson would not think seriously of a Northerner, a day laborer. (page 487)
Because of all the rejecting from the people in town and her relatives that pushed her to the edge

After the dead of her lover, Emily closed up her door and isolated herself from people in town
and the people didn t care about that because they knew it will happen to her soon or later: Then
we knew that this was to be expected too, (page 489) The only thing that made the whole town

Pros And Cons Of Job Application Essay
Too many college graduates enter into post grad on a chaotic job hunt without any advice on
how to navigate through it. While in college you hear countless stories of people not finding
employment after graduation but never do you actually think it would be you. If you graduated
and immediately found your dream job then congratulations!! But this blog isn t for you. It s for
the reader who has been filling out so many job applications that they aren t even sure what they
want to do anymore. It s for the readers who disregard what they majored in just so they can enter
the workforce. And lastly, it is for the reader who lives in their own disappointment, who have
made sure they held internships, kept their grades up, and obtained the necessary skills but still
can t find employment. I am here to tell you that it is okay. Things will fall into place but you must
keep your head up and stay on the path that was ordained just for you.
I guess people just forget about MSU Career services, deans of colleges, and graduates at MSU that
have experience/knowledge on how to search for a job, etc. From my experience, you don t fill
out a job application to get the job, you only fill out the job application once you have it. How do
you do that ? Magic ? No building connections. If you do not have a job after graduation you are to
blame and pure laziness. Its too many resources and potential connections to build at a University
to be unemployed after graduation. Every time I hear a

Introduction
To be profitable, companies must not only earn revenues, but also control costs. If costs are too
high, profit margins will be too low, making it difficult for a company to succeed against its
competitors. In the case of a public company, if costs are too high, the company s may find that its
share price is depressed and that it is difficult to attract investors.
This report focuses on the corporate cost control strategies and tries to fulfill a few objectives such

Human Capital Costs:
One of the most important resources is the human resource and this needs to be managed properly
to ensure better cost controlling. Low productivity and high turnover cost employers two to three
times more than insurance premiums and medical claims. A new paradigm for managing human
capital costs can reduce these indirect expenses to benefit both employer and employee. There can
be various ways to control these costs as Outsourcing payroll processing, Telecommuting and virtual

Examples Of Feminism In Jane Eyre And Wide Sargasso Sea
Feminism is a movement that I believe is misunderstood by those who do not try to understand it.
There was a time when I misunderstood what it meant to be a feminist and believed it to be a man
hating movement that strived to make women the rulers of the world and though I do not
completely despise the idea it was not something I was comfortable being a part of. Thanks to the
mass media that surrounds me in this millennium, I have learned that being a feminist and the
feminist movement is instead a movement meant to create equality of the sexes and to create a
world that thrive off of that equality. My research question for this extended essay is, A feminist

My thoughts differed for the two female protagonists. I felt that Jane was that she was a strong
willed character who had goals for herself and I really liked that her goals were about her
bettering her life. Her life plans did not involve her finding a man who could take care of her
and make her financially stable. My thoughts concerning Antoinette were different. I was
disappointed in the choices she made and I could not relate to her lack of willpower and
confidence in herself. After reading the books I felt that Jane Eyre could be considered a feminist
novel but not Wide Sargasso Sea. I wanted to give an educated feminist critique on the two novels
before jumping to further conclusions which lead to me searching for sources which would educate
me as to what it means to really be a feminist

Planet Fitness Research Paper
My assignment is to write a critique paper on the facility named Planet Fitness . Planet Fitness is a
gym that labels itself rather as a fitness club that aspires people of all ages, weights and heights to

your most introvert and shy gymgoers to enjoy their workout without feeling self conscious because
of other gym attendee s opinions. On the workout floor, their facilities are equipped with mostly

rooms, they come well equipped for serving mass amounts of gym goers at a time. The locker

The biggest flaw that I believe planet fitness possesses is the fact that they live by the policy do
not cater to body builders, so that they can create the dream of a judgement free zone . I am
about to put a huge hole into the logic of this policy. There is no such thing as judgment free .
Judgement and opinion are natural processing agents within the human mind. Everyone judges
everyone whether it is acknowledged that they are doing so or not. Also, if it s a judgment free
zone, how come the gym is full of illustrations and slang words directed towards a stereotypical
bodybuilder? Planet Fitness is being judgmental their selves. By keeping to this policy, Planet
Fitness is not only making itself the laughing stock of the fitness industry, but it is also losing a
large, plentiful amount of potential customers. Now that I ve gotten that flaw out of the way, my
second biggest frustration with Planet Fitness is the food and candy the facility offers. When
people sign up for the gym, they are also signing a personal contact with their selves to be a
better, heathier version of their selves. This process involves not only working out, but it also
involves dieting, creating a balanced meal plan based on their goals, and being able to say no to
eating poorly all the time and instead

Ariel Castro s Psychodynamic Perspective
Brief Summary Between the years of 2003 and 2013, Ariel Castro held three young women,
Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Georgina Dejesus, captive. Over the course of the ten
years, they were beaten, raped, and dehumanized in horrifying ways. The young women kept
diaries that spoke of the violence that went on inside of Mr. Castro s house. For example, the
women wrote about how he forced them to be sexually active with him, locked in dark rooms for
long periods of time with the anticipation of abuse awaiting them, being treated like animals, etc.
Ariel Castro was a very sick man as he gained pleasure from watching his victims suffer. Social

  • 2. The Symptoms Of Cushing s Syndrome Cushing s Syndrome Cushing s Disease or Cushing s Syndrome? Aren t they the same thing? What are they even? Cushing s disease is a medical condition; a disorder of the pituitary gland causes it to create too much ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) which in turn leads to overproduction of cortisol. Cushing s Syndrome is a symptom of Cushing s disease; as well as of other conditions, whether endogenous (originating from inside the body) or exogenous (originating from outside the body). Pathophysiology and Etiology Cushing s Syndrome is the result of overexposure to cortisol, a hormone normally secreted by the adrenal cortex in a diurnal rhythm, with an increase in times of stress. In Cushing s Syndrome, cortisol is secreted constantly with no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other factors that may increase the risk of Cushing s disease include obesity, type 2 diabetes, poorly controlled blood sugar levels and high blood pressure. While none of these factors are a direct cause of the condition, they are associated with higher prevalence of it. (Endocrine Society, 2016) Cushing s syndrome is most common in patients on high levels of steroid medications to treat chronic inflammatory disorders. (Williams, L., Hopper, P., 2015) Diagnostic Testing Suspicion may initially result from the characteristic cushingoid appearance in addition to a history of taking steroids. Levels of cortisol can be tested from saliva or a 24 hour urine collection. Levels of ACTH in the blood are also measured, along with potassium. Additional tests may be done to locate the cause, such as a tumor. (Williams, L., Hopper, P., 2015) Complications If untreated, Cushing s syndrome may result in bone loss leading to fractures, high blood pressure, frequent or unusual infections, Type 2 diabetes, and loss of muscle mass and strength. • 3. The Case of Kelo v. City of New London Eminent Dominant According to the facts, it seems that the sentiment of John (Cougar) Mellencamp s hit in the 1984 fueled the controversies basing on the court s decision on June 23, 2005. The ruling stated that the local government or federal government was entitled to exercise eminent dominant rules to enable them acquire private propertyand utilize it for purposes of economic development. Eminent domainalso referred to as condemnation, is the act of taking private property and making it public property by the local governing authority, state, or federal government (Bradley 65). The private property taken away is converted to public property for public use. With reference to the case of the Kelo v. city of New London, the court ruled that the government should take private property through eminent domain for public use. This is due to the provisions of Fifth Amendment of the U.S constitution. New London, Connecticut, could exercise eminent domain for economic development. New London, Connecticut, was experiencing hard economic times majorly due to the closure of the U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center, which was the major employer in the region. This prompted a decrease in the tax base and population in general. This made the city leaders desperate for some development in the city s economy. Afterwards, a pharmaceutical giant Pfizer started to construct a facility used for research in the outskirts of New London. This was the only chance for the city to activate the ... Atherosclerosis is a disease that causes the hardening and narrowing of the arteries. Heart attacks and strokes await those that have these diseases (Joseph et al., 2009). Atherosclerosis can be caused by high blood pressure, smoking, and high cholesterol. Endothelium are a thin layer of cells that are supposed to keep the inside of the arteries smooth promoting healthy blood flow. When the endothelium is damaged and bad cholesterol moves past this area it collects. This causes plaque to form in the arteries restricting the flow of blood. There was a case study (Violanti, Vena, Patralia, 1998) between the dates of 1950 and 1990 where 40 police officers were examined to collect data on their health and life span. The information from this research suggested there are lower mortality rates amongst the U.S. general population vs those in Law enforcement. Arteriosclerotic heart disease deaths were elevated in law enforcement officers with service times of 10 19 years and represented the majority of excess deaths amongst those with circulatory disease. • 5. The Between Europeans And Native Americans The interactions between Europeans and Native Americans have not always been positive. There are numerous difference that interactions between the two groups. Europeans were known as a group that during the 16th and 17th century, made a great deal of change with their religious views. They were once without religion, but were known to turn to sects like Christianity and Puritanism. The Native Americans were a group known to be without religion. These people did not believe it one God and a book to follow. They believed in various higher beings that oversaw things like hunting, crops and sacrifices. These spirits didn t represent a sense of hope or something to look forward as did being a Christian. William Bradford and Mary White Rowlandson were two religious people who came from England to the new world in order to seek new opportunities in their religious pilgrimage. Upon their arrival to Massachusetts, they lived in settlements were next to Native establishments. Both women told stories of the horrors that the Natives put upon them. William Bradford s belief is Puritanism lead him on a voyage with others to Massachusetts. His encounter with the Natives, although not completely negative, was bias based on his beliefs. In England, the social structure was completely different then that of the Native Americans. In Chapter XIV, Bradford noted different customs he noticed that the Natives portrayed. • 6. Memory And Deep Memory During her talk, Ethel Sternberg said that it made her very happy when students took her memories and stored it in the back of their heads. Her words directly relate to Charlotte Delbo s differentiation between common and deep memory and how this impacts readers of the Holocaust. Common memory refers to works that are a factual retelling and more importantly, leave the reader undisturbed by the work. On the other hand, deep memory leaves an impression and affects the reader in some capacity. One of the challenges that a Holocaust survivor faces when writing about their experiences is invoking this deep memory. Ethel Sternberg referred as storing it in the back of their heads while Delbo always repeated, Il faut donner Г voir or that they must be made to see . In order to transmit a sense of the unthinkable, such as the ambiguity of their survival and the reason for the Holocaust, writers have to make the reader feel the uncomfortable reality of this historical event. Authors such as Delbo, Appelfeld, Pagis, and Foer accomplish this by directly engaging their reader by offering no solution to the Holocaust and concluding on an ambivalent note. In this way, these writers elicit deep memory by not offering an answer to the Holocaust and forcing their readers to reconsider the ambiguous qualities of their writings. In Auschwitz and After, Delbo s Marie Louise establishes the issue of common memory and how individuals will assume that they understand the Holocaust. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This ever changing people s history is left in the few remaining volumes the works of comedy, tragedy, and satire (____________90) . One of the earliest Greek records of satire can be traced to around 500 B.C. Early Greek satires ( Satyrs or Satyric dramas ) were in essence comedy plays, usually fairly bawdy, and often involved men dressed as Satyrs (clearly the root of the word Satyric). Satyrs were mythological creatures with the upper half of a man and the bottom half of a goat or horse. Satyr was one of three forms of Athenian drama, nestling comfortably as a new genre alongside tragedy and comedy. Satyr was quickly developed between the writers Pratinas, Aristeas, and Aeschylus. These new Satyrs did not begin life as fully developed features they were instead used as interval pieces to relieve the seriousness of tragic plays. These comic pieces, counterpointing and parodying the tragedy, became extremely popular devices and led to the extension of the form. Ancient Greek comedy was one of the final three principal dramatic forms in the theatre of classical Greece (the others being tragedy and the satyr play). Athenian comedy is conventionally divided into three periods, Old Comedy, Middle Comedy, and New Comedy. Old Comedy survives today largely in the form of the eleven surviving plays of Aristophanes, while Middle Comedy is largely lost, i.e. preserved only in relatively short fragments in authors such as Athenaeus of Naucratis. Therefor GM food directly increases the cost of the Hong Kong government. Compared to the cost of checking and labelling GM food, not doing this seems costlier over time and more people suffer from serious GM food related diseases. Therefore, without GM food labelling, this could befall its citizens. A possible solution may be a two pronged approach. Firstly, raise awareness about the dangers of GM food, with commercials to educate citizens about risks of GM food. Secondly, the government should create a legislation labelling all GM products being sold in HK. Video Games Promote Violence And Sexual Aggression Over the past few decades, video games have rapidly evolved from simple games like Pac Man and Tetris to complex interactive media platforms popular with people of all ages. As video games skyrocketed in popularity, so have public attention and research studies alongside them. The controversial issue of video games promoting violenceor sexual aggression is currently still being hotly debated by educated people from both sides of the argument. However, there is compelling evidence which proves that themes of violence in video games do indeed affect violent tendencies in the real world, including but not limited to forms of sexual aggression towards women due to the objectification of female characters in video games. In Grand Theft Auto V, players are awarded a prostitute s money once they kill her and forced to enact a torture session on someone to extract information from him; in the Call of Duty Franchise, players are prompted to gun down and bomb innocent civilians. These games are only a few examples of exposure to violence in a rising media form. Considering that upward[s] of 90 percent of American children between the ages of 2 and 17 play video and computer games regularly (Funk, 1993), the high content of violence in video games should be re evaluated. Though not all violence in video games is depicted seriously, most of the top selling video games (89%) [contain] violent content (Knowles et. al, 2001). So it isn t right to expect, as some have, that the writer primate of Jonson s saying was fundamentally a performer. He has regularly been thought to be Shake Speare. There is proceeding with difference among pundits about the tone and reality of the succession, about the unique situations (scholarly, authentic, and scholarly) inside which it might should be caught on, what s more, even about the fundamental frameworks of the account which these apparently straightforward verses apparently unfurl. Part of the issue in perusing the Charis sonnets lies definitely in that pressure between their account and verse capacities: between a perspective of the lyrics as constituting, a solitary, ceaseless, and naturally related entire the story which the writer declares in the opening sonnet and then again ten discrete verse pieces to be freely relished and caught on. A fairly comparable pressure is to be found inside the ten pieces on Lady Venetia Digby which make up the succession Eupheme , set in appearing to be balance to the Charis ballads close to the finish of The Underwood: and inside those bigger gatherings of ballads, the Epigrams and The Forest, in Jonson s 1616 folio. 1 In these cases, lyrics composed at various circumstances ... Emotional support animals have a huge list of responsibilities they can take on and learn to help their owner. These animals require minimal training and their jobs are specifically tailored to what their owner needs to maintain their mental health. Still these animals have less rights than service animals. Still, they have laws protecting them and their owners. My brother and I each have our own emotional support animals that provide us with their multiple skills that help keep us mentally safe. Emotional support animals can take on a multitude of jobs that may include reminding the handler to take medicine, providing safety checks or room searches, or turning on lights for persons with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, interrupting self mutilation by persons with dissociative identity disorders, and keeping disoriented individuals from danger, (Brennan). Rhetorical Situation: A doctor prescribes an MRI non compatible implant like a pacemaker because it is cheaper for the patient in the moment. However, in the long run this will cost more to keep maintained, and is obviously harder to monitor. It also creates an issue for any other medical problems that might arise which need MRI scanning. A doctor could, in this case, advocate for a more advanced implant rather than the cheapest option for the patient or the first option. Doctors should be advocating for higher technology, and not immediate cost effectiveness. Sometimes the harder decisions are the better ones in the long run. Advanced demand planning technology surpasses spreadsheet based efforts by calculating the best possible demand prediction based on several inputs, including past performance of related products or unrelated products that share key attributes in addition to any data generated by pre launch market testing. According to Gartner, New product launch forecasting is overly reliant on sales and marketing for demand inputs. Opportunities exist to remove forecast bias by utilizing attribute modeling techniques and solutions that use similar product introductions to understand consumer / customer trial and repeat, as well as volume build assumptions, to improve the forecast. Sell In, Sell Through, and Maturation The demand profile ramps up as introductory promotions, advertising support, and word ofmouth combine to create an initial strong demand, then dips as the sell through period gives way to the maturation phase, with its own promotions and marketing programs attempting to shape demand over time. • 33. Narrative Essay On The Eiffel Tower I woke up thinking about the contest again, but I pushed it aside and got ready to go touring again and today we were going to the Eiffel Tower. We headed out at 10:00am and drove there in a cab, we arrived and the view from our room was no match to the real deal, it was outstanding and a lot bigger than I imaged too. We got in line for tickets and it didn t take to long, so we found our tour guide, so that she could take us up in it, I was nervous and excited at the same time because I don t like heights, but I do love scenery. We went up in an elevator to the first floor or the first platform and let me tell you,it was as beautiful as a thousand roses, literally, there was thousands of roses everywhere, it was magnificent. After a while we got back on the elevator to go to the top and on the way up the tour guide told us that it is about 108 floor tall, twice the size of the one is Vegas. The elevator stopped and we stepped out. The breeze was perfect and so was the weather, we walked out to a telescope and plopped in a quarter. All I could say was wow, my mom and dad were almost speechless too. Once we got up there I realized i wasn t afraid anymore, hopefully the contest was going to be the same way, I took it all in, along with a thousand photos my mom took of us and everything else. We kept looking at everything, it was like nothing I ve ever experienced before, it was perfect and so delicate, words were not enough to explain it. The city was busy and all the cars and people looked like ants, the park around us was perfect, the grass, the trees everything seemed so perfect around us, at least until it started to pour rain. We ran into the elevator and luckily there was enough room for all of us because there were people who didn t get in and i was sure they were drenched by now. After some time we got to the bottom and ran to our cab as fast as cheetahs, but it didn t matter, we were drenched as well. We got in our cab and drove to our hotel to change and dry off. We wandered the hotel after we changed, to look at all the paintings and statues. The Specific Learning Disability Under IDEA (2004), Disproportionality continues to exist in several categories listed, especially the categories of the Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Emotional Disturbance (ED), and Intellectual Disability (ID) ,(Gamm, 2007). Disproportionality is defined as the overrepresentation and under representation of a particular population or demographic group in special or gifted education programs relative to the presence of this group in the overall student population (National Association for Bilingual Education, 2002). So many factors are responsible for this disproportionality, but the key factors, as apparent from researchers are; (1) gender difference, (2) overrepresentation of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse CLD population, (3) unsuccessful teaching approaches, (4) poor classroom management skills, and (5) assessment policies and practices. • 35. Diction Of Tupac s Poetry Modernism has been overwhelmed with works empathizing helplessness and depression. While modern poets often tell the truth about life s difficulties, the product of this often results in discouraging millennial interest in the art. In contrast to the helpless of other poets, Tupac Shakur exhibits defiant resolutions in his poems. Shakur s diction exhibits a necessary component when discussing historical and sociological aspects: he shows his audience how to overcome adversity. As a poet, Shakur s work is a direct reflection of his life. He blends every aspect of his life together everything from gang violence to poverty and displays it to his audience, Now Tupac had a difficult childhood, moving frequently around the New York City burrows from Brooklyn to the Bronx. He got an education early on from his mother in radical politics, but he also witnessed some of the hardships of life. His mother, she was struggling from a crack cocaine addiction (McCrudden). • 37. Masculinity And Femininity Although complementary, the stories told about masculinity and femininity have very different impacts on those that feel pressured to conform to them, or are subject to experience their effects by others who do. A particularly insidious source of these stories comes from advertisements, as noted by Jean Kilbourne in Killing Us Softly 4 (2010). She quotes a statement by the editor in chief of an advertising magazine that only 8% of an ad s message is received by the conscious mind. The rest is worked and reworked deep within the recesses of the brain . The internalization of the messages from these advertisements unwittingly teaches men and women what is expected of them, and what is desirable. For women, it is taught that femininityrequires flawless beauty, with unnaturally smooth skin (preferably light toned), shiny hair, dimple free curves cinched by a tiny waist, and a graceful demeanor. It is taught that women must pursue this image, whether it be through the purchase of cosmetics or surgical procedures, or diet products and exercise programs. These advertisements often depict women as having elegance and sensuality in their passiveness lounging around as they enjoy beauty products or indulgent foods, or draped upon powerful men. They must act as though they enjoy being objectified; welcoming men s advances, even in violent or dangerous situations. In contrast, men in advertisements are encouraged to model masculinity through violence, dismissal of emotions in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. The Central Lesson By Jack Welch Thesis The central lesson the author, Jack Welch, is trying to teach is how to win in the business and corporate world from usually the point of view of a CEO or manager. Winning companies are the only things that count because losing has no value to anyone. As I read the book, I came to the reasoning that Welch s major lesson here is that a business and its CEO will win through candor. Candor had its own chapter but was also mentioned throughout the whole book, highlighting that candor takes part in every aspect he discussed in business in order to win. Candor is part of hiring, firing, Six Sigma, budgeting, leadership, and several other aspects. Most importantly though, it is essential to strategy a significant topic discussed in this course. Welch defines candor as the biggest dirty little secret in business . He argues that candor has hurt firms, in which they could have been better off and he is speaking internally, not the external competition. Candor leads to winning by: getting more people in the conversation which develops rich ideas; creating speed, meaning it is right there and then where you can debate quickly; and, it decreases costs such as those long boring meetings discussing known information (27). It really caught my attention how Welch commented that the lack of candor comes from our childhoods and backgrounds where we know that staying quiet helps us avoid troubles, messes, awkwardness, rejection, more work, and the like. How does one overcome ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Biological Weapons And Its Uses Introduction Dating back to the 1100 s there have been records of the use of biological weapons in warfare. This involved the usage of human and animal corpses to pollute water sources and to spread diseases. Post World War One increased interest in biological weapons lead to them becoming more advanced. With this improvement it is evident that warfare has evolved. This progression in warfare can be seen when looking at the manner in which wars were fought prior to the introduction of biological weapons in the 1100 s, and comparing it to the manner in which they were fought succeeding the advancement of these weapons in the 1900 s. Although biological weapons have rarely been used, their effects on warfare are apparent. When studying biological weapons one must deliberate on the factors that have driven its use and creation as well as the responses and threats thereof. This essay will therefore focus on depicting biological weapons and their uses throughout history; beginning with its most medieval applications in siege warfare and comparing it to its various uses in World War One, Japan in the 1920 s , the Cold Warand the Persian Gulf War. The reasons as to why biological weapons have been used and created differ in each circumstance, ranging from its advantageousness in imperialism to its role in instilling fear. Furthermore, to properly determine the impact of biological weapons on warfare this essay will examine the outcomes of its use. With the main response being the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The place(s) in which the brand is sold is a vital aspect of luxury branding success. If a brand can create an atmosphere that is aesthetically and emotionally pleasing, then it evokes luxury to its customers. One example of this is men s bespoke shirt maker, Charvet Place VendГґme, often referred to as simply Charvet. Situated in the one of the hГґtels particuliers (the French equivalent to a grand British townhouse) that surrounds the Place VendГґme in Paris. The Charvet store operates across seven floors within this building. This store epitomises elegance and grandeur and as such, Charvet have created a temple like store, for which their customers can enjoy their products, allowing for a deeper more emotional connection to the brand itself (Mr Porter, 2015). Customers are pulled towards brands with the promise of becoming part of an exclusive community. This creates a sense of great desire to purchase luxury branded products. A question that is very important as the answer affects everything that mankind knows about morality, the universe, and the meaning of life itself. This question has been asked by men and women from all walks of life and it would seem that for every question answered concerning this topic a dozen more arise. Philosophers to Scientists to Kings have all pondered this question and this question is whether or not God exists. Now there are various conceptions of God within philosophy, but the most simple and widely accepted definition would likely be a metaphysically necessary being. That will be the definition of God for this paper. Numerous arguments have been put forth for and against the existenceof a God, and some can be grouped together according to their type. Examples of these arguments range from teleological arguments to axiological arguments to cosmological arguments (to name a few). The following paper will focus on cosmological arguments, in particular the Argument from Contingency. Ancient philosophers would look at the stars and would marvel at their beauty and would point to their structure as an indication of the order within the universe. These ancient thinkers would take this as a sign of the existence of gods/god. With time came those who put forth arguments that drew from what was seen in the night sky to argue for the existence of their god /gods. Notable names like Plato and Aristotle are just a few ...
