5. SYNOPSIS FAFFER – “Just Gotta Know ”
Are we alone in the universe? Not for long. NASA has discovered the
new planet of Karzan. After sending a research probe out to the planet,
they expected to bring back a few pictures of the landscape and rock
samples. Little did they know, they were about to get a whole lot
more. An accident prone mega-curious Karzanian creature named
Faffer. He has some discovering of his own to do. Watch Faffer and his
earthy side kick Mable as they discover Earth in a whole new way.
When a strange craft lands on the planet Karzan, it is just too much for
young Faffer’s curiosity to resist. He decides to jump in and take a
look around. Suddenly, the probe rockets back to Earth on a
preprogrammed mission with young Faffer still trapped inside. When
the research craft veers off course, it lands in a big lake outside the
town of Sopchoppiville. This is where Faffer makes his first alien
discovery. A young girl named Mable. She is a mega-confident
creature that soon becomes his partner in crime.
Faffer and Mable have a push and pull relationship and rarely agree on
anything. Faffer’s need to ―Just Gotta Know‖ everything leads the
duo into many hilarious situations. When they get in a jam, Faffer and
Mable can always count on helpful hints from their funky gopher pal
Manilo. Whether it’s with witty advise or a jazzy tune, Manilo always
finds a unique way to point them in the right direction.
6. SYNOPSIS – (continued)
The intergalactic duo are always being chased by two scientists from
the Space Agency. Emerson Cricket and Feldman Gourmet went
searching for the missing craft after it did not land at the space station
as it should have. They soon discover that it was an alien life form that
caused the craft to veer off course. Now, they are on a mission of their
own. Armed with a camera, Emerson and Feldman are always trying to
capture evidence of Faffer’s existence. The scientists use math, science,
and word problems to help them in their endeavors. Despite their best
efforts, they always come up short.
Driven by curiosity and the undying urge to learn, the two creatures
from two different planets stumble around the earth together. They will
discover as they go because of Faffer’s mega-curious appetite to ―Just
Gotta Know.‖
This is only the beginning of the Adventures of Faffer.
7. The Hook
Flow of the Show
(The half hour show runs in three parts.)
Part 1. The show starts with Manilo popping up out of his hole in
different locations giving an overview of the new situation that Faffer
and Mable will encounter and have to solve.
Part 2. Next a new learning adventure. Manilo will pop out of the
ground for 30 seconds during the story and ask a question about
what is going on. This will get the kids thinking about how they
might solve the problem that Mable and Faffer are trying to decipher.
Part 3. The cartoon will close with Manilo again popping up out of his
hole offering three different summaries of what Faffer and Mable
learned from their adventure. All three may be right or only one
summary will be correct. This will be a great time for parents to have
a discussion with their kids about Faffer and Mable’s adventure and
which summary they think is right. The kids can also offer a totally
different view of their own. We could also set up a web site for the
kids to comment on each show and what they think.

Social Skills
Faffer and Mable have a push and pull relationship and rarely agree on anything. The
children will learn many social skills due to Faffer and Mable’s relationship with each
other and how they overcome their differences to work and play with each other.
Math Skills
Emerson Cricket and Feldman Gourmet use math word problems in every episode to
come up with a new method to capture a picture of Faffer. The answer to the math
problem will not be given on the show. The children can figure out the answer and go
to the “Faffer – Just Gotta Know” web site and see if their answer is correct.
Problem Solving Skills
Faffer and Mable will encounter challenges and solve their problems in every show. This
process will help children learn to figure out solutions to their problems. The ability to
solve difficult situations also builds positive self-esteem, self-confidence, and
relationships with others.
Geography Skills
Faffer and Mable will be in a different location in the country and around the globe in
every episode. We will give hints as to where the are located. The kids can go to the
“Faffer – Just Gotta Know” web site to see if they know the location.
