This document provides a play-by-play summary of the process of animating different elements in a video over multiple frames. Key steps included:
- Animating elements like eyes, squid parts, and neck frames-by-frame due to their small size and differing movement speeds.
- Adding and rearranging layers to accommodate all elements as the animation progressed.
- Zooming in on elements like the Inkling to increase accuracy of frame-by-frame movements.
- Facing challenges like layers disappearing or not pasting properly between frames that required reopening and troubleshooting.
- Manually copying and pasting key frames between layers when automatic pasting did not work.
Paper Animation Production Reflection Written UpJoeDuffy28
I put way too much time into this I know. I just can't help myself when writing in detail... except when it's an essay to do with American and Japanese animation.

A pretty damn decent piece. Not an excessive amount of slides, but still gives everything that would be needed from this particular part of the project.
I would like to think this is pretty damn complete! I know there are a few slides that are blank to be filled buuuut that's only if I have time. Still! There is plenty there even though I know my Tutors will want more from me because they can be pains in the a***! Just in case they're watching... Whatever!
The title's funny because while there's a lot of writing, it doesn't give you much interms of an actaul thing I'm doing. 20 days later and I'm aou the same as then. I am SO screwed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is probably quite excessive to most, but not at York College were this is about average.
This is too many project stuffs at once for me to comprehend, my brain is melting!!
A hopefully finished Researchy thing. I'm not passing this year, I don't have what it takes because there is a ridiculous amount of work and creativity that is needed and I simply do not have that in me. Sorry, just needed to vent.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

1. FACTUAL: THE FINAL DAY
Wednesday, 29th January 2020:
At firstI tried putting in the layer and justputting where it starts and its end. However, as itis smaller,it
moved at a much different speed. So I went frame by frame which was quite soothing honestly.
As I needed another row for the two parts of the Squid,I shuffled certain parts out of a row to clear spacefor
that and the Inklingshirt.
For the Pupils,I started by seeing the midway pointas its startis nearly visibleso I know where itstays
vertically as with the other eye piece.
For the Squid, when the motion is repeated, there a dead spaceof 3 or so frames where no motion happens so
I don't have to worry about moving the pieces.
For the Inkling,I decided to zoom in so I could be more accuratewith the movements.
For the neck piece, I had to fo back to Photoshop as the one I had was far too skinny.
The neck moved so little,on some frames I didn'tbother moving it and sometimes itmoved by one number.
I knew the animation looped so I was planningon perhaps trying to duplicatethe postion parts reversed. I
thought this would probably be more complicated than needed so I went manually all theway. Funnily
enough, the end postion was the exact same as the startwithout intention.
When tryingto pasteit again, the neck layer didn'tappear for some reason.I dragged out what I thought was
the layer but it seemed invisible.I decided to restart as maybe it was justa bug.
When itreopened, I thought that I should justpastethe key frames on new versions of the neck as itdidn't
seem to likepastingthe already done one.
I forget aboutthe zoom in for the costumes so I am really hopingI can justpaste the motion and replicatethe
same zoom in and out.
Unfortunately it shimmies to the right a littleso I'll haveto sort that out.
I had to add the zoom manually as thepart started digginginto her face.
For the permanent zoom, I wanted to make lifeeasier! The best way I could do that was with cutting the layer
where it stopped zooming in,deleting the key frames so it stayed where it was from the lastmovement and
went from there.
When I played it through, the neck stopped moving after a littlebit. I went back and the pasted layers were
not in the rightplaceor non existantso I fixed that.
When growingit back up, I copied the reverse key from the zooming.
When I put the shirtpattern I released it would overlap the arm so I'll haveto be careful aboutthat. Only a
littleat the startand most of the end has the arm duck underneath but when lookingat the whole screen, its
seems rather unnoticeable.
Because I can never have my way, when I tried to paste the key frames into another layer likeI did before, it
justdidn'twork. Urgh!!!!
After multiplereopening and button presses, alongwith a Tutor, I sawan option on the layer to paste
attributes which finally worked. How convulted... No wonder I'm late with this happening.
After putting all the layers thatwere not in the costume section, the screen froze so again,I restarted. The
costumes was not gonna be fun, that's for sure. But it would be all over afterwards so that's why I left until
last.
In the after costumes part, I had to redo the original version as itcouldn'teven let me pasteattributes. Why?
Actually, after searchingup,I don't copy the key but the layer it's on to paste them.
Just before doingthe final zoomout, I adjusted the Inklingfootage of the costumes so they have more space
before realisingthatsome text comes from the bottom so I had to reverse it. Whoop!
As I prepared the zoom out for the shirt,I realized that my copyingof the necks reverse did really work so I
pulled them into place. It wasn't with the upmost care but justenough to not be obvious.
I finished all theadded layers and went back for a final checkup on everything. I slightly moved footage and
added the Splatoon cover I must have forgotten!!
Now I have the rendering underway. What a journey this has been.
