The simplest atomic number 1 chalcogenide, it is by far the most studied chemical substance
compound and is described as the "universal result " for its ability to (mix with and become
component percentage of a liquid) many substances. This allows it to be the "solvent of animation ".
[ It is the only commons substance to exist as a solid state , liquid, and gas in nature. Water is a basic
corpuscle made up of two hydrogen mote s and one atomic number 8 atom. When these three mote
come together, they form a strong Bond that is very hard to breaking . The metier of this bond keeps
a body of water supply molecule together for millions and even 1.000.000,000 of old age . Water is
a open /open and honest and nearly clear/white chemical substance that is the main voter /part of
Earth's flow , lakes, and oceans, and the fluids of most living being . Its chemical formula is H2O,
meaning that its molecule contains one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms, that are connected by
covalent (forces that gum or join things together). Water strictly refers to the liquid state of that

solid state (ice) or its gaseous state (steam or water vapor). It also happens in nature as

Summary Of Mint Snowball By Naomi Shihab Nye
Anger on Paper After reading "Mint Snowball" by Naomi Shihab Nye there are there are three main
areas that will be reflected upon these include, but are not limited to, the style Ms. Nye's used in her
excerpt, the different views in the first half versus the second, and the possibility of family work
history affecting future outlooks of the world. It is obvious the author had written in the low style as
it is personal, informal, and from her use of fragments, "Glistening, dangling spokes of ice." (Nye)
(612) The quote is a perfect example of a fragment, a word group that lacks a subject, verb, or
possibly both as defined by (Dolmage)(579) Also, Ms. Nye does not have any systematic
acknowledgement of sources in her excerpt as is also common

The Legalization Of The Penny In Today's Society
The penny was first legalised by the Coinage Act of 1864. But was not printed until 1906 when
Abraham Lincoln was the first historical figures portrayed on a United States coin. Back when
pennies were first made, the value of the penny was extremely high. But since the time that the
penny was first introduced to now, prices have risen by the extreme. With other coins and even
dollar bills now, the penny is less likely to be used, except for change. The production of the penny
needs to be ended because it costs more to make than it is worth, it is a hassle to use and it useless in
today's society. The product of the penny cost more to produce than its own worth. "The cost of
making the pennies (1.26 cents each) is higher than face value..." (about.com). The United States
Mint company is actually losing money when sending pennies out to different companies and
places. The government is losing around 53 million dollars every year by producing the penny, and
that price is only raising. Since many people don't use the pennies they have and they either keep
them or throw they away, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
" A penny has little value and little buying power, especially compared to what it had a century ago"
(savingadvice.com). There is no where you can go and buy something for one single penny. In the
past, stores would have little candies for one penny. Nowadays since prices have raised so high over
the years, vending machines and most parking meters do not even accept pennies. "Most people
throw away 4 cents worth of pennies into the jar (or trash) each day" (about.com). Pennies are so
worthless to us that people throw them away! People are throwing away money. If a person threw
away 4 pennies a day and lived for an average of 80 year, that person would be throwing away 1,168
dollars in their lifetime. Pennies add up after a long time, but no one keeps them around for that

Mint And Chocolate Experiment Research
Introduction Test and quizzes happen every day in children's lives. It a natural event that happens in
every school. Some kids who take test have anxiety and stress when taking a test. This could lead to
stress and fear of doing test. Some teachers before a test gives out chocolate or mint to help them
with self–confidence and concentration. For students, eating the chocolate usually help them calm
down. It probably helps them feel less stressed. Though that leads us to another question. If
chocolate and mint help relieve stress from students, does chocolate or mint also help children
increase their test score? This is a study to examine if chocolate or mint actually helps kids who are
taking a test or quiz. Method Subjects: The subjects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We will have about one hundred and fifty kids in total. Seventy five of them will go in one group
while the other seventy five goes in another room. In the experiment group, we will give them both
chocolate and mint. To get rid of the cofounding variable known as cheating we spread out the kids
in the large testing room. We will also be having phones off in this test so the kids won't be able to
use it during the test, which gets rid of another confounding variable. Another confounding variable
we have to get rid of is distractions. Anything that distracts the children could hinder the test, so the
room has to be silent at all times. We will give out the same test, independent variable, to all of the
kids in the experiment. We will see how the effects of the chocolate and mint, dependent variable,
affect the kids that are taking the test. We will give them about forty five minutes to complete the
test. If they do not finish in time, we will grade the questions that have been answered. We will then
record all the results of the test and write them down on paper and compare it with the test scores of
the control group. Once we compare these two results we will get an answer to the

Descriptive Essay On A House On The House
All five of us kids stand impatiently, surrounding the dirty, white side door attached to the garage of
Grandma and Grandpa Pinegar's home in Orem, Utah. An automatic lock is screwed to the door. We
all take turns punching in the code into the lock. The buttons have an orange glow to them, but is
only visible in the dark. Little black numbers were once printed on the circular buttons, but have
now peeled away as a result of the constant rubbing and pressing on them. The door has always been
a pain to get open. The lock constantly jams itself, which requires the code to be entered multiple
times. As we sit and wait for Mom to open the door, I admire the familiar place. Grandma and
Grandpa's three story house is layered in red, rough bricks. Five white columns hold up a lengthy
carpeted deck, as well as the extended roof. Windows can be seen in all stories of the house, giving
the house a wide open feel. The neatly cut grass, planted in the front lawn, is parted by a sidewalk
that leads up to a couple of stairs and then to a dark brown door. A flagpole is surrounded by a
flower bed in the front lawn. Our handprints mark the cement where the flagpole stands. Finally,
Mom gets the door unlocked, it groans – sounding like an old blowhorn – as rusty gears turn inside
to unfasten. Sara, my younger sister, takes hold of the scratched up metal doorknob, twists it to the
side, pushes the door open, and runs in. Leading the rest of us with her. A gust of scented wind
reaches my nose as the door swings open. The warm familiar smell is bland with a hint of
sweetness. I see Grandma standing over by the sink, washing bread dough off of her worked fingers.
When she notices our arrival, she throws her arms up in the air and greets us with shouts of joy and
gigantic hugs. She uses only her arms and wrists to embrace us in order to save our clothes from
getting the watery bread dough mess all over them. A six foot five man walks slowly into the
kitchen making trumpet noises with his mouth. I jump over to him and wrap my short arms around
his waist. He squeezes me. He is so tall that his shaking hands only meet my head. He massages,
running his fingers up throughout my hair. This, unfortunately, creates knots all in my hair that

Descriptive Essay About Beach
The Beach
You have been in the car for a very long three days. You have sat in a line of cars 10 miles long. You
have endured your annoying siblings, stressed out parents and the cramped space of the car. You
have eaten junk food and soda for days. Your legs are screaming to move, you think you will never
arrive. You have heard rumors about the beach. Sand so white it sparkles, water crystal clear, ships
the size of buildings, and hotel rooms the sizes of houses. You finally start to see the first signs of
the ocean first the tall tan coconut trees, then the smell of the salt water, and then the roar of the
waves. Then you finally see it the ocean, so big and so blue. Full of life, adventure, and discovery.

The food at the beach is amazing and one of kind. You decide to get crab legs at the buffet, but you
don 't know how to eat them so you ask your dad. Your dad looks at you and says "Son, seafood is
the best thing ever created". You tell your dad "We'll see". After taking your first bite of crab you
finally realize what all the praise is about. You tell your dad "You were right seafood is the best".
After you and your family are done eating you continue on the boardwalk walk. As you are walking
you can 't help but look into all the stores and surf shop windows. You want everything in there but
you know your parents will say no. Your parents do however let you go into one surf shop that has
little turtles. You beg your parents to let you get one, you almost break them, but they said they
would decide towards the end of the week. After you are done walking, your family decides to get
some some ice cream. You find this ice cream shop with 50 different flavors you don 't know what
you 're going to choose, but you eventually decide on mint chocolate chip. The mint chocolate chip
is really good and maybe even better than the locale ice cream shop back at home.
After you 're done with ice cream you head back to the hotel after letting your stomach settle. Your
family decides to go crabbing, you have never been crabbing before and don't know what to expect.
The first shock comes when you realize you have to touch the crabs to get them out of the net. The

Orange Mint Julep Sorbet and Mimosas

What sparked the idea for Orange Mint Julep Sorbet?
I know y'all are thinking what the heck sparked this idea for Orange Mint Julep Sorbet. Well, I had a
big bag of navel oranges sitting in my fruit basket and I had been craving sorbet so I sat down and

Once the syrup has chilled for 4 hours, grab a small saucepan and pour the 1/3 cup of cold water

water, usually takes 2 minutes. This step is called blooming.
After the gelatin has bloomed, gently warm it over low heat and stir until the gelatin is completely

The Price Of The Penny
The Penny is essentially a vital part of our money system. There has been many speculation about
whether or not the United States should abolish the penny from being minted any longer. Although
the penny has been a part of the American culture since 1787, it has such a small value, it will
always be a part of American history. So as the years go on we should realize that the penny is
everything to the United States. The penny should not be eliminated from the money system due to
the fact that it is a part of the American culture and has earned its respect over the years.
In America, there is still a debate if the penny should be eliminated. If it was to be eliminated it
would still be used, but in a minimal way. In Canada, the Canadian penny was eliminated due to
cost, time, and the country believed it was a waste of money, "inflation reduced its purchasing
power by 95% since it was first minted domestically in 1908: back then the cent could buy goods of
the cost of $0.20, today in other words."(The Economist). Once a small coin can no longer be used
to buy individual items at that price, but it is only used to make change, it becomes more trouble
than it is worth. Canadian pennies cost "1.6 Canadian cents to manufacture, and the government
expected to save $11 million a year by eliminating them"(The Economist). But that sum equivalent
to 0.0006% of GDP is small change. Canadians feel that eliminating pennies is that their feeble
purchasing power means dealing with coins,

Mint Museum: Noonday In Summer By Jerome Thompson
I first visited the Mint Museum during my spring break and was astonished at the variety of
collections and exhibitions. The collection that caught my attention was the American Art
collections specifically Noonday In Summer by Jerome Thompson. Noonday In Summer is an oil on
canvas which was created in 1852. Thompson's Noonday In Summer portrays a group of
farmworkers resting in a secluded area while enjoying a small picnic. The artwork is a colorful
representation of the nature of the farmworkers on a hot summer day. Thompson uses a variety of
contrast of hues to represent the summer day and the nature of the farmworkers. For example, the
man cheeks are a vivid red making it appear to be a long day of work and portrays the heat. He also

US Mint Bullion Arguments
Private contract usability with court enforcement through legal tender laws No one knows for
certain how things will go monetarily, politically, or economically in the coming years. Many
American bullion buyers seem to prefer US Mint bullion coinage as the foundation of their bullion
stack (American Eagle & Buffalo coins) given that they are indeed legal tender in the USA (see 31
U.S. Code § 5103). By owning legal tender US Mint issued bullion coins one conceivably has the
option of being able to buy assets outright, making certain the contracts are explicit in payment
agreed upon, notarized and thus likely court enforceable Hypothetically by owning legal tender
bullion coins, it gives the owner right to explicitly use their face values

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
In the classic film "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", two eccentric characters, journalist Raoul
Duke and his psychotic attorney Dr. Gonzo travel to Las Vegas on a job and in search of the
American dream. Throughout the trip they find themselves in odd situations that one would not
normally encounter. Duke and Gonzo's predicaments could be explained be a wide variety of
psychological issues. One psychological concept that is a very large part of Duke and Gonzo's trip is
their excessive drug use. The movie begins with Duke narrating and driving a fire apple red
convertible that they rented, in the desert around Bartslow, California. It was then, he stated, the
drugs began to take hold. In the first five minutes of the movie Duke opens the trunk of the car,
while swatting at bats that weren't there and does an inventory of the drugs packed in a suit case.
The suitcase included "2 bags of grass, 75 pellets of Mescaline, 5 sheets of high powered blotter
acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multicolored uppers, downers, reamers and
laughers, one quarter tequila, one quarter rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and 2 dozen
amyls" (Fear and Loathing). The serious drug collection they had was to push them as far as they
could go. Duke and Gonzo had such a high tolerance to multiple drugs that they could take these
large amounts without serious consequences. Every drug they took fell into one of the four major
drug classes. Opiates, depressants,

Foolish The Penny
Do you think the penny is a waste?
Is a penny saved really a penny earned? Well not much longer it isn't, people think that we should
discontinue the penny from our current day system. In my eyes i see the penny as a waste of time
and a waste of money. There has been talk lately about discontinuing the minting of the us penny, and
after reading all four articles it's hard to say that we should keep the penny: "Penny Wise, or 2.4
Cents Foolish?" (Source 1), "Is the Penny Worth It?" (Source 2), "Give a penny–Save the day!"
(Source 3) "The Ever–Changing penny" (Souce 4). In my opinion we should discontinue the U.S.
penny because it is costing us too much to produce pennies and the cost to produce it is actually
more than it's worth, many countries have already dropped the pennies and it's going just fine for
them, there is already a plan for when we are going to discontinue the pennies, so we are prepared.
First of all,in 2011, it cost 2.4 cents just to make a penny. "in 2011,it cost the U.S. mint more than
2.4 cents to produce a penny." (Source 4, par. 4) But the cost to produce a penny now has dropped to
about 1.8 cents but it still costs more to make than it's worth. We should also get rid of the nickel to
because it costs 9.4 cents to make so they are just basically losing money by the minute."In the

Satires About Lemons
Lemonade
You have been given a basket of lemons. You decide to make lemonade. You reach under your
counter for the cutting board and begin cutting into the lemons.
As you begin cutting, you notice that the lemons don't smell quite right, yet they look so vibrant and

you swallow. The juice of these lemons runs clear, like normal, but tastes like rubbish. You stop

change their rotten and foul taste.
You find that bag of icing sugar that you have been keeping in the back of your pantry for a moment
like this. You smile as you dust those lemons with this added sweetness. You admire the lemon

them to your blender and make that lemonade that you so desire.
You ensure that you have the right amount of tasty lemon slices, pour in your water, add your ice,

Analysis: The Mint Museum At Randolph
The Mint Museum at Randolph is located in Charlotte's Eastover neighborhood. It was once part of
the United States Treasury Department: a mint. In 1936 it became the state's first art museum. It
houses a collection of cozy galleries to display everything from textiles, pottery, ceramics, glass and
decorative arts. The exhibit I viewed showcased works from three generations of artists: Newell
Convers Wyeth (patriarch), Andrew Wyeth (son) and Jamie Wyeth (grandson).
'Harbor Monhegan' was created in 1998 on Monhegan Island in Maine by Jamie Wyeth. It is an oil
painting on canvas, rich in texture and color. Wyeth's use of space it defined by the foreground,
middleground and background. The piece has movement depicted throughout; It looks almost
chaotic, movement is present in the flames, smoke, waves, and seagulls bringing the piece together.

The essay I chose for my response page is Mint Snowball by Naomi Shihab Nye, a story of a girl
born in the wrong time. It's very interesting that this story is a personal narrative, but it is mostly
written about Her great–grandfather. Her mother probably told her this story often enough that it
stuck with her and became vivid in detail. She seems like she wished she was there with her great–
grandfather. This leads to her disconnect between her and modern day society. Another odd thing is
her longing for the Mint Snowball. She has never had a mint snowball in her life, and yet she craves

connection to such times. When she says "Is there land for

Descriptive Essay On Trantopea
In a land far, far away there was a beautiful magic forest in a world called Trantopea. In this forest
there were many magical creatures, with different jobs. One creature who was especially important

rare plant that she called mint. At that time mint had only existed in her world. Many of the other
creatures in the forest were very jealous of Pepper and her farm, many even tried to steal it. One
creature in particular, Joseph, wanted Pepper's farm very much. He was also a farmer, but his farm
was not as successful as Pepper's farm, as a result he had devised a detailed plan to steal Pepper's
farm. In Trantopea to seal something from someone all you had to do was take it from them and it
was yours forever, so in this case all Joseph had to do is pick one plant from her farm and the farm
was his forever. One day as Pepper was taking her daily walk, she saw a bush rumble in the forest.
She was very confused, but she continued her walk and eventually forgot about it. What Pepper had
not realized was that there were two little eyes peeking out of the bush and watching her. These two
eyes belonged to Joseph, who was trying to find out a perfect time to try and steal Pepper's farm.
Every day for a month, Joseph would watch Pepper take her walk just to make sure that she took

It's Time to Abolish The Penny! Essay
Between 2001 and 2006, there has been an increase of .6 cents for the reproduction of the penny.
This increase displays economic problems that may lead to fatal ones. The penny is composed of 2%
copper and 98% zinc. These elements are exponentially in demand causing the price of these
materials to skyrocket. Many Americans think the penny is putting our country in jeopardy with
financial losses. This meaningless coin is losing money for the mint, and should be abolished. The
penny costs 1.4 cents to manufacture each time at the mint. This is causing the mint to lose money
for the treasury. Last year, the mint earned $730 million dollars in profit. Many mint officials claim
the estimation will be about $45 million due to the cost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This averages to about 1210 pennies per person in the United States. These numbers are just simply
preposterous. A majority of these Lincolns have probably been trashed, thrown on the ground or
located in unknown areas of homes and apartments. The penny is practically worthless to many
people in our country. In a Gallup Poll of 1,002 adults conducted from June 11 of this year displayed
shocking results. Nearly 75% of those adults would stop and pick a penny that is present on the
ground. About 40% of men and 35% of women would walk passed a penny that is on any type of
surface. This poll also found that 58 percent of Americans stash their pennies in piggy banks, jars
and drawers. Some Americans redeem their cents at banks or coin–counting machines, but 2 percent
admitted they toss them into the trash. They consider the penny a nuisance to many fellow
Americans. This sentiment has been growing through recent years. The penny is basically obsolete
and should be removed from American currency. Many penny supporters think there is not an
inflation with the economy. The cent doesn't buy anything in today's market. It is merely a token
used to make odd change during cash purchases. The customer may have to use the, "Leave a penny,
take a penny" bowl next to the cash register for correcting the balance. The penny can be put back
into the bowl if the customer doesn't accept the return of pennies. It is neater than throwing them on
the ground

Royal Canadian Mint Research Paper
The Royal Canadian Mint Corporation is one of the most technologically advanced minting
operations in the world. Its headquarters is located in Ottawa and its manufacturing plant in
Winnipeg. As of the year 2000, all coins manufactured in Canada have 90–95% steel as its base
metal and to add color it is coated with copper, nickel or zinc. Pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters

Its expansion has decreased its purchasing power by over 95% since it was first minted in 1908.
Back in this time, one penny could buy whole goods. However, when a small coin can no longer buy
singular items and is only used to make change, it becomes an unnecessary hassle. By eliminating
the penny, the Canadian government saved over $11 million dollars in the first year, as it costs
approximately 1.6cents each to manufacture. Nevertheless, the penny is being eliminated as having
an ineffective purchasing power and making change to the exact cent is wasteful for consumers,
retailers and business

The Death Of A Mint Oil
The queue grew thinner until Morgana reached the counter and purchased her mint oil. Although she
could feel the familiar warmth of magic reviving itself in her body, and had been able to re–light
candles in her room last night by concentrating on them, her powers were nowhere near their peak.
Again: was it simply due to the injuries sustained in King Lothar's tomb? This sabbatical couldn't
stretch on forever. Still, she had to admit that over the last three weeks, Lydil had grown on her.
Despite the injuries, clean air, a proper bed and wholesome food had begun their good work, if ever
so slowly. Remembering to keep her head down, she passed both merchants, wondering how they
might react if they realized the "mad woman" had been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She had often seen Princess Mithian, completely immersed in her own world, knowing that
manipulating her would be child's play. Out of all the plans she had hatched in order to secure
Camelot's Throne, this should have ranked as the most successful. Odin needed no persuasion to
invade Nemeth, particularly when she advised him of the gold, silver, jewellery and fine cloth to be
found in abundance–– indeed, he had almost wept for joy! Out of all Odin's failings, she preferred
his greed to his cowardice. Who had melded him into this trembling specimen of subservience?
Another one of Arthur 's misty–eyed speeches on peace, unity and working together for the common
good? Well, men had been bought for far less. Rare fine wines, judging from the conversation she
had just heard. Still... as much as she might scoff at Odin, Camelot gained much from it. Other
kingdoms still disputing land and titles with Camelot would be encouraged by it and possibly reach
further agreements. After all, Nemeth had still abided by the terms Arthur set forward, even after he
rejected Mithian 's hand in marriage. Without money or access to an army, what chance would there
be in future to attack? No use fretting about the future when trying to recover right now. One step at
a time. Remaining in Lydil had been an excellent idea and once her magic returned... Yes;
everything would turn in her favour. In this

If Not For Purchasing Some Mint Oil At The Apothecary
If not for purchasing some mint oil at the apothecary, Morgana might have spun around and
interrupted the conversation going on behind her between two men, whose loud voices indicated
they thought the world ought to hear their opinions. "...and who would have expected it?" said one.
"Excellent news, of course; Camelot boasts some rare fine wines I 've been longing to plunder for
years!" Rare fine wines, indeed. She pretended to glance around, quickly taking note of the men in
question. One, perhaps the one who had just spoken, was scratching his beard with a conspiratorial
air, as though he had signed the Treaty himself. The second, impossibly thin for his age, had a stoop
to his shoulders and rough skin. The thin man nodded. "Indeed! I rather feared there would be no
peace given their history, and what with that mad woman on the run..." "Oh, she hasn 't been seen
since Ismere, don 't worry about that..." "...trying to steal the Throne of Camelot, who on earth does
she think she is?" Morgana took a deep breath and forced herself to stare at the ostentatious hat of a
man standing not far forward. These men, probably merchants, cared for nothing but the
continuation of their business with minimal disturbance, so of course her frequent declarations of
war against Camelot were inconvenient. Fine. They could be forgiven for misunderstanding that
rather than stealing Camelot 's Throne, she was simply reclaiming her rightful inheritance. Once
they understood the righteousness

United States Mint Act Essay
The United States Mint is responsible for producing and circulating all coinage for use in economic
trade or commerce. However, few are actually aware of the history behind this financial intuition. In
the beginning of America's days as a colony, each state produced its own currency or accepted
foreign coins as a means of payment. Massachusetts was the first of the colonies to produce a paper
currency, which later gave rise to Continental Currency in an effort to finance the Revolutionary
War. However, these paper notes had no solid backing of any kind other than predicted taxes
revenue collected from each colony. In 1781, The Continental Congress sought to increase
confidence in its currency through the establishment of The Bank of North America in Philadelphia,
which was then the capital. The printing of money was left to private banks who printed notes of all
kinds. As a result, paper notes and coins were easily counterfeited. Silver bullion coins were easily
pressed and engaged with images and the exchange rate varied throughout each colony. ... Show

In 1792, Congress passed the Mint Act in order to establish the United Mint under the Department
of State and give this financial intuition the authority to produce coinage on a national level. This
legislation served to invalidate the various forms of colonial coinage as a legal tender. The act gave
birth to a copper one cent coin and established a decimal system for which coins and dollars could
be converted. Gold and silver were proportionally valued at fifteen units of silver to one unit of
gold. Director David Britton House was selected by Thomas Jefferson to oversee the production

Tic Tac Marketing Strategy
Tic Tac is one of the largest breath mint market, which has been there in the industry for more than
50 years now. Their product line is far away the most sold in the world due to their bigger and
multiple factories and employees worldwide. As stipulated in the article, in 1969, Tic Tac gave to
their customers the catchy jingle which was a huge success. In the 1970s, they extended their
product line by adding the cinnamon–flavored red mints and the tangerine–flavored orange mints.
The Ferrero group introduced their new product with its iconic flip–top packaging. Tic Tac
continued to offer more flavors to their customers, which in 1980 introduced the 1 and 1/2 Calorie
Breath Mint followed by the spearmint and wintergreen. Last but not least, in the early 2000s, Tic
Tac decided to increase the width of their product mix with even more flavors by creating Tic Tac
Bold which came in mixed fruit flavors. Although, they have been dominant all through their
existence, they recently have been overtaken by other breath mint competitors such as Everest, Cool
Chews, Icefresh, Blitz, Ice Chips, Cool Blast, Ice Breakers and Altoids with their the "curiously
strong" mints in the metal container from Callard & Bowser–Suchard (Charles W. Lamb, Joe F.

presenting something new to the market, which would attract new and more consumers. They

Beauty : Beauty And Beauty
At one point in time or another, you have seen a person use lip balm. Look at any advertisement and
you will see how we have fantasied about the different ways we can look sexy, but at what cost? We
always look for the fastest way to make ourselves look the best; however, we have turned a simple
concept, of making oneself feel beautiful into a war between artificial and natural beauty ads. Our
society has drilled into our minds that people who use artificial products to make themselves look as
we define to be sexy, this has torn a ridge in our society in what we define as true beauty; true
beauty is natural beauty, what you naturally look like without any products. By using natural
products, like Burt's Bee Lip Balm, one can show off what it means to have true beauty, natural
beauty. In our fast pace world people want to have what they want here and now, this does not
exclude beauty. People are always trying to find the cheapest and fastest way to get something done.
It is myth that if something is done fast then it is done right. No one ever thinks what is the cost of
such a fast pace way of thinking. By not taking the time to do something right you can overlook
important details, like leaving the house without any pants on. Do people ever really think about
what half of the things that are put in beauty products? Anything beauty product dealing with lips,
the gates of beauty, made out of some nasty things; some lipstick made out of bat guano, which is
bat feces. Why would

Personal Narrative: My Trip To The Mint Museum
I'm Jacob Boger, most would say I'm outgoing, helpful and funny. I took art at Piedmont IB in the
6th and 7th grade. I never signed up for an Art class in high school until my Junior year. I chose to
take an art class because it was required to attend a four year college. While I was a student at
Piedmont, we visited museums like the Harvey B. Gantt center and The Mint Museum. While
visiting the Mint Museum we saw pieces from Romare Bearden, Sculptures from Downtown
Charlotte, and many more fascinating paintings. My Uncle David is a photographer and photo

I placed the dreads over dreads to imitate movement. Lastly, I added body adornments like piercings
and then I cleaned up any rough areas. Then, Ms. Wadsworth fired the masks in a Kiln. Challenges
while making the mask where not that hard because I learned from mistakes on previous projects.

Tic Tac 's Brand Recognition Essay
The Ferrero Group has a successful and popular product (Tic Tac) that has remained a top
competitor in the breath mint industry. They have been able to remain competitive by upgrading
their product throughout the years. Tic Tac 's brand recognition began in 1969 and The Ferrero
Group started to introduce new flavors in the 1970s. In the 1980s, to keep up with the health craze,
they marketed Tic Tac as "The 1 1/2 Calorie Breath Mint". They would also introduce many other
flavors over the next 20 years to further diversify flavor options.
In my opinion, the most innovative idea was the flip–top packaging in a clear container. This
packaging design distinguished Tic Tac from other breath mints. However, Tic Tac could not remain
at the top forever. Other mints, such as the Altoids, began to enter the market and threaten Tic Tac 's
competitive edge. The Ferrero Group saw this as another opportunity for change. In 2008, they
introduced the Tic Tac Chill. The Chill mints were expected to cater for the "sugar free" and "strong
flavoring" product segments, two of the fastest growing segments in the United States. The Ferrero
Group found profound interest from their target market of consumers in the 25 to 45 age group.
They also introduced this new mint with a new packaging. The new packaging continued to
maintain the essence of the classic packaging. It still featured a transparent design and the flip–top.
However, the Chill mints package was dual–use. It contained a wide

Tic Tac And The Tac
Tic Tac is one of the leading producers of breath mints in the country. It is owned by one of the
largest companies, Ferrero Group. Ferrero Group has over 36 companies, 15 factories and almost
20,000 employees working for them around the world. The products from the Tic Tac product line
are sold all over the globe particularly in Europe, Australia, South America, and the USA. Tic Tac
has experienced great appreciation and sales for it product called "Tic Tac Chill" mints.
The Chill mints have a new and unique design and mints were larger in size themselves than regular
Tic Tac mints. Additionally, Tic Tac uses natural sweetener attracting more diet–conscious and
diabetic customers. This new product has a versatile design that has flip–top packaging unlike the
other products. At the same time, it keeps the originality of Tic Tac mints while retaining the classic
packaging and product image.
With the adoption of new flavors and packaging, we need to weigh both the benefits and the risks
associated with changing the product's packaging. Lets begin with laying out the risks associated
with the change in packaging. The excerpt tells us that the market for Tic Tac breath mints has
increased ever since 1969. This indicates that the breath mints are not a new–to–the–world product.
Customers have seen this product before, in fact, breath mints are a convenience product for many
consumers. Breath mints are in there maturity stage in the product life cycle. In this stage new users

Fear, Loathing, By Hunter S. Thompson 's Novel, Fear And...
The American Dream is the phrase and trademark of American society today that many hope to
achieve in some point in their lives. In Hunter S. Thompson's novel, Fear and Loathing in Las
Vegas, readers follow Thompson depicted as Raoul Duke and his attorney Dr. Gonzo in hoping to
find the American Dream. It uses Gonzo Journalism, a style that is an adaption of Picaresque
narrative to document his drug–induced experiences traveling through 1970's Las Vegas. The
Picaresque novels are composed of first–person narrative that relates to the adventures of a picaro
character or rogue hero with an episodic structure and romantic techniques to present the story as a
realist. The novel presents various examples of picaresque genre and American journey narratives.
Thompson uses picaresque narrative of a rogue hero's desert journey for the American Dream in
bars, casinos, hotels only to find that it is essentially unattainable. At the same time, Thompsons
examines the generation's failure to achieve the American Dream by commenting on their cultural
behavior in the 1960s and 1970s.
The principles of Picaresque genre are revealed throughout the novel: first person narrative and
episodic structure of a rogue hero. Thompson portrays an episodic plot in the novel where the rogue
hero travels back and forth in search of the American Dream. Duke and his attorney drive their red
convertible across the deserts of Las Vegas. As their drug consumption increases, they trash their

The First Colonial Currency By The Massachusetts Bay Colony

was under British rule. Other colonies began to issue their own paper currency, and use of the

pounds, and pence. In 1764, the British declared Colonial currency illegal. The Continental
Congress in 1775 issued currency to help finance the Revolutionary War. These notes were called
"Continentals," had no value in gold or silver. The Continentals were backed by the "anticipation" of
tax revenues, though easily counterfeited and without solid backing, the notes quickly became
devalued. This period marked the first time that United States currency's value was derived solely
from its purchasing power, as it is today.
In 1792, American Congress passed the country 's first coinage act. This meant that the United
States Mint was officially responsible for creating coins for public use. Thomas Jefferson and
Benjamin Franklin were two of the men who contributed research and ideas towards the early
versions of the coins. The Treasury Seal that was developed actually remained quite the same even
until today. Benjamin Franklin takes on counterfeiting, using his Philadelphia printing firm to
produce colonial notes with nature prints–unique raised patterns cast from actual leaves. This
process adds an innovative and effective counterfeit deterrent to notes. The first $2 notes are

Summary Of Mint Snowball By Naomi Shihab Nye Anger on Paper After reading "Mint Snowball" by Naomi Shihab Nye there are there are three main areas that will be reflected upon these include, but are not limited to, the style Ms. Nye's used in her excerpt, the different views in the first half versus the second, and the possibility of family work history affecting future outlooks of the world. It is obvious the author had written in the low style as it is personal, informal, and from her use of fragments, "Glistening, dangling spokes of ice." (Nye) (612) The quote is a perfect example of a fragment, a word group that lacks a subject, verb, or possibly both as defined by (Dolmage)(579) Also, Ms. Nye does not have any systematic acknowledgement of sources in her excerpt as is also common ... • 9. The Legalization Of The Penny In Today's Society The penny was first legalised by the Coinage Act of 1864. But was not printed until 1906 when Abraham Lincoln was the first historical figures portrayed on a United States coin. Back when pennies were first made, the value of the penny was extremely high. But since the time that the penny was first introduced to now, prices have risen by the extreme. With other coins and even dollar bills now, the penny is less likely to be used, except for change. The production of the penny needs to be ended because it costs more to make than it is worth, it is a hassle to use and it useless in today's society. The product of the penny cost more to produce than its own worth. "The cost of making the pennies (1.26 cents each) is higher than face value..." (about.com). The United States Mint company is actually losing money when sending pennies out to different companies and places. The government is losing around 53 million dollars every year by producing the penny, and that price is only raising. "Most people throw away 4 cents worth of pennies into the jar (or trash) each day" (about.com). Pennies are so worthless to us that people throw them away! People are throwing away money. If a person threw away 4 pennies a day and lived for an average of 80 year, that person would be throwing away 1,168 dollars in their lifetime. • 17. Mint And Chocolate Experiment Research Introduction Test and quizzes happen every day in children's lives. It a natural event that happens in every school. Some kids who take test have anxiety and stress when taking a test. This could lead to stress and fear of doing test. Some teachers before a test gives out chocolate or mint to help them with self–confidence and concentration. For students, eating the chocolate usually help them calm down. It probably helps them feel less stressed. Though that leads us to another question. If chocolate and mint help relieve stress from students, does chocolate or mint also help children increase their test score? This is a study to examine if chocolate or mint actually helps kids who are taking a test or quiz. Method Subjects: The subjects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We will have about one hundred and fifty kids in total. Seventy five of them will go in one group while the other seventy five goes in another room. In the experiment group, we will give them both chocolate and mint. To get rid of the cofounding variable known as cheating we spread out the kids in the large testing room. We will also be having phones off in this test so the kids won't be able to use it during the test, which gets rid of another confounding variable. Another confounding variable we have to get rid of is distractions. Anything that distracts the children could hinder the test, so the room has to be silent at all times. We will give out the same test, independent variable, to all of the kids in the experiment. We will see how the effects of the chocolate and mint, dependent variable, affect the kids that are taking the test. We will give them about forty five minutes to complete the test. If they do not finish in time, we will grade the questions that have been answered. We will then record all the results of the test and write them down on paper and compare it with the test scores of the control group. Once we compare these two results we will get an answer to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Descriptive Essay On A House On The House All five of us kids stand impatiently, surrounding the dirty, white side door attached to the garage of Grandma and Grandpa Pinegar's home in Orem, Utah. An automatic lock is screwed to the door. We all take turns punching in the code into the lock. The buttons have an orange glow to them, but is only visible in the dark. Little black numbers were once printed on the circular buttons, but have now peeled away as a result of the constant rubbing and pressing on them. The door has always been a pain to get open. The lock constantly jams itself, which requires the code to be entered multiple times. As we sit and wait for Mom to open the door, I admire the familiar place. Grandma and Grandpa's three story house is layered in red, rough bricks. Five white columns hold up a lengthy carpeted deck, as well as the extended roof. Windows can be seen in all stories of the house, giving the house a wide open feel. The neatly cut grass, planted in the front lawn, is parted by a sidewalk that leads up to a couple of stairs and then to a dark brown door. A flagpole is surrounded by a flower bed in the front lawn. Our handprints mark the cement where the flagpole stands. Finally, Mom gets the door unlocked, it groans – sounding like an old blowhorn – as rusty gears turn inside to unfasten. Sara, my younger sister, takes hold of the scratched up metal doorknob, twists it to the side, pushes the door open, and runs in. Leading the rest of us with her. A gust of scented wind reaches my nose as the door swings open. The warm familiar smell is bland with a hint of sweetness. I see Grandma standing over by the sink, washing bread dough off of her worked fingers. When she notices our arrival, she throws her arms up in the air and greets us with shouts of joy and gigantic hugs. She uses only her arms and wrists to embrace us in order to save our clothes from getting the watery bread dough mess all over them. A six foot five man walks slowly into the kitchen making trumpet noises with his mouth. I jump over to him and wrap my short arms around his waist. He squeezes me. He is so tall that his shaking hands only meet my head. He massages, running his fingers up throughout my hair. This, unfortunately, creates knots all in my hair that ... • 33. The Price Of The Penny The Penny is essentially a vital part of our money system. There has been many speculation about whether or not the United States should abolish the penny from being minted any longer. Although the penny has been a part of the American culture since 1787, it has such a small value, it will always be a part of American history. So as the years go on we should realize that the penny is everything to the United States. The penny should not be eliminated from the money system due to the fact that it is a part of the American culture and has earned its respect over the years. In America, there is still a debate if the penny should be eliminated. If it was to be eliminated it would still be used, but in a minimal way. In Canada, the Canadian penny was eliminated due to cost, time, and the country believed it was a waste of money, "inflation reduced its purchasing power by 95% since it was first minted domestically in 1908: back then the cent could buy goods of the cost of $0.20, today in other words."(The Economist). Once a small coin can no longer be used to buy individual items at that price, but it is only used to make change, it becomes more trouble than it is worth. Canadian pennies cost "1.6 Canadian cents to manufacture, and the government expected to save $11 million a year by eliminating them"(The Economist). But that sum equivalent to 0.0006% of GDP is small change. Canadians feel that eliminating pennies is that their feeble purchasing power means dealing with coins, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The collection that caught my attention was the American Art collections specifically Noonday In Summer by Jerome Thompson. Noonday In Summer is an oil on canvas which was created in 1852. Thompson's Noonday In Summer portrays a group of farmworkers resting in a secluded area while enjoying a small picnic. The artwork is a colorful representation of the nature of the farmworkers on a hot summer day. • 41. US Mint Bullion Arguments Private contract usability with court enforcement through legal tender laws No one knows for certain how things will go monetarily, politically, or economically in the coming years. Many American bullion buyers seem to prefer US Mint bullion coinage as the foundation of their bullion stack (American Eagle & Buffalo coins) given that they are indeed legal tender in the USA (see 31 U.S. Code § 5103). By owning legal tender US Mint issued bullion coins one conceivably has the option of being able to buy assets outright, making certain the contracts are explicit in payment agreed upon, notarized and thus likely court enforceable Hypothetically by owning legal tender bullion coins, it gives the owner right to explicitly use their face values ... Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas In the classic film "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", two eccentric characters, journalist Raoul Duke and his psychotic attorney Dr. Gonzo travel to Las Vegas on a job and in search of the American dream. Throughout the trip they find themselves in odd situations that one would not normally encounter. Duke and Gonzo's predicaments could be explained be a wide variety of psychological issues. One psychological concept that is a very large part of Duke and Gonzo's trip is their excessive drug use. The movie begins with Duke narrating and driving a fire apple red convertible that they rented, in the desert around Bartslow, California. It was then, he stated, the drugs began to take hold. In the first five minutes of the movie Duke opens the trunk of the car, while swatting at bats that weren't there and does an inventory of the drugs packed in a suit case. The suitcase included "2 bags of grass, 75 pellets of Mescaline, 5 sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multicolored uppers, downers, reamers and laughers, one quarter tequila, one quarter rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and 2 dozen amyls" (Fear and Loathing). The serious drug collection they had was to push them as far as they could go. Duke and Gonzo had such a high tolerance to multiple drugs that they could take these large amounts without serious consequences. Every drug they took fell into one of the four major drug classes. Well not much longer it isn't, people think that we should discontinue the penny from our current day system. In my eyes i see the penny as a waste of time and a waste of money. There has been talk lately about discontinuing the minting of the us penny, and after reading all four articles it's hard to say that we should keep the penny: "Penny Wise, or 2.4 Cents Foolish?" (Source 1), "Is the Penny Worth It?" (Source 2), "Give a penny–Save the day!" (Source 3) "The Ever–Changing penny" (Souce 4). In my opinion we should discontinue the U.S. penny because it is costing us too much to produce pennies and the cost to produce it is actually more than it's worth, many countries have already dropped the pennies and it's going just fine for them, there is already a plan for when we are going to discontinue the pennies, so we are prepared. First of all,in 2011, it cost 2.4 cents just to make a penny. "in 2011,it cost the U.S. mint more than 2.4 cents to produce a penny." (Source 4, par. 4) But the cost to produce a penny now has dropped to about 1.8 cents but it still costs more to make than it's worth. We should also get rid of the nickel to because it costs 9.4 cents to make so they are just basically losing money by the minute."In the United ... In 1936 it became the state's first art museum. It houses a collection of cozy galleries to display everything from textiles, pottery, ceramics, glass and decorative arts. The exhibit I viewed showcased works from three generations of artists: Newell Convers Wyeth (patriarch), Andrew Wyeth (son) and Jamie Wyeth (grandson). 'Harbor Monhegan' was created in 1998 on Monhegan Island in Maine by Jamie Wyeth. It is an oil painting on canvas, rich in texture and color. Wyeth's use of space it defined by the foreground, middleground and background. The piece has movement depicted throughout; It looks almost chaotic, movement is present in the flames, smoke, waves, and seagulls bringing the piece together. ... It's very interesting that this story is a personal narrative, but it is mostly written about Her great–grandfather. Her mother probably told her this story often enough that it stuck with her and became vivid in detail. She seems like she wished she was there with her great– grandfather. This leads to her disconnect between her and modern day society. Another odd thing is her longing for the Mint Snowball. She has never had a mint snowball in her life, and yet she craves it. Maybe this is because she wishes to be back then with her family and uses the dessert as a connection to such times. When she says "Is there land for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Detective Lionel wears a grimacing smirk on his face as he sits in his chair and places his beige fedora on the table. He rests his hands on the table, and he asks, "What were you doing in the park early in the morning."I respond by saying, "You think I murdered Mr. Scott, don't you?" One creature who was especially important in Trantopea was Pepper Mint. She was a large red and white creature, who was a farmer of a very rare plant that she called mint. At that time mint had only existed in her world. Many of the other creatures in the forest were very jealous of Pepper and her farm, many even tried to steal it. One creature in particular, Joseph, wanted Pepper's farm very much. He was also a farmer, but his farm was not as successful as Pepper's farm, as a result he had devised a detailed plan to steal Pepper's farm. In Trantopea to seal something from someone all you had to do was take it from them and it was yours forever, so in this case all Joseph had to do is pick one plant from her farm and the farm was his forever. One day as Pepper was taking her daily walk, she saw a bush rumble in the forest. She was very confused, but she continued her walk and eventually forgot about it. What Pepper had not realized was that there were two little eyes peeking out of the bush and watching her. These two eyes belonged to Joseph, who was trying to find out a perfect time to try and steal Pepper's farm. Every day for a month, Joseph would watch Pepper take her walk just to make sure that she took one everyday. This increase displays economic problems that may lead to fatal ones. The penny is composed of 2% copper and 98% zinc. These elements are exponentially in demand causing the price of these materials to skyrocket. Many Americans think the penny is putting our country in jeopardy with financial losses. This meaningless coin is losing money for the mint, and should be abolished. The penny costs 1.4 cents to manufacture each time at the mint. This is causing the mint to lose money for the treasury. This averages to about 1210 pennies per person in the United States. These numbers are just simply preposterous. A majority of these Lincolns have probably been trashed, thrown on the ground or located in unknown areas of homes and apartments. The penny is practically worthless to many people in our country. In a Gallup Poll of 1,002 adults conducted from June 11 of this year displayed shocking results. Nearly 75% of those adults would stop and pick a penny that is present on the ground. About 40% of men and 35% of women would walk passed a penny that is on any type of surface. This poll also found that 58 percent of Americans stash their pennies in piggy banks, jars and drawers. Some Americans redeem their cents at banks or coin–counting machines, but 2 percent admitted they toss them into the trash. They consider the penny a nuisance to many fellow Americans. This sentiment has been growing through recent years. The penny is basically obsolete and should be removed from American currency. Many penny supporters think there is not an inflation with the economy. The cent doesn't buy anything in today's market. It is merely a token used to make odd change during cash purchases. The customer may have to use the, "Leave a penny, take a penny" bowl next to the cash register for correcting the balance. She pretended to glance around, quickly taking note of the men in question. One, perhaps the one who had just spoken, was scratching his beard with a conspiratorial air, as though he had signed the Treaty himself. The second, impossibly thin for his age, had a stoop to his shoulders and rough skin. The thin man nodded. "Indeed! • 109. United States Mint Act Essay The United States Mint is responsible for producing and circulating all coinage for use in economic trade or commerce. However, few are actually aware of the history behind this financial intuition. In the beginning of America's days as a colony, each state produced its own currency or accepted foreign coins as a means of payment. Massachusetts was the first of the colonies to produce a paper currency, which later gave rise to Continental Currency in an effort to finance the Revolutionary War. However, these paper notes had no solid backing of any kind other than predicted taxes revenue collected from each colony. In 1781, The Continental Congress sought to increase confidence in its currency through the establishment of The Bank of North America in Philadelphia, which was then the capital. The printing of money was left to private banks who printed notes of all kinds. As a result, paper notes and coins were easily counterfeited. Silver bullion coins were easily pressed and engaged with images and the exchange rate varied throughout each colony. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our society has drilled into our minds that people who use artificial products to make themselves look as we define to be sexy, this has torn a ridge in our society in what we define as true beauty; true beauty is natural beauty, what you naturally look like without any products. • 125. Tic Tac 's Brand Recognition Essay The Ferrero Group has a successful and popular product (Tic Tac) that has remained a top competitor in the breath mint industry. They have been able to remain competitive by upgrading their product throughout the years. Tic Tac 's brand recognition began in 1969 and The Ferrero Group started to introduce new flavors in the 1970s. In the 1980s, to keep up with the health craze, they marketed Tic Tac as "The 1 1/2 Calorie Breath Mint". They would also introduce many other flavors over the next 20 years to further diversify flavor options. In my opinion, the most innovative idea was the flip–top packaging in a clear container. This packaging design distinguished Tic Tac from other breath mints. However, Tic Tac could not remain at the top forever. Other mints, such as the Altoids, began to enter the market and threaten Tic Tac 's competitive edge. The Ferrero Group saw this as another opportunity for change. In 2008, they introduced the Tic Tac Chill. The Chill mints were expected to cater for the "sugar free" and "strong flavoring" product segments, two of the fastest growing segments in the United States. The Ferrero Group found profound interest from their target market of consumers in the 25 to 45 age group. They also introduced this new mint with a new packaging. In Hunter S. Thompson's novel, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, readers follow Thompson depicted as Raoul Duke and his attorney Dr. Gonzo in hoping to find the American Dream. It uses Gonzo Journalism, a style that is an adaption of Picaresque narrative to document his drug–induced experiences traveling through 1970's Las Vegas. The Picaresque novels are composed of first–person narrative that relates to the adventures of a picaro character or rogue hero with an episodic structure and romantic techniques to present the story as a realist. The novel presents various examples of picaresque genre and American journey narratives. Thompson uses picaresque narrative of a rogue hero's desert journey for the American Dream in bars, casinos, hotels only to find that it is essentially unattainable. At the same time, Thompsons examines the generation's failure to achieve the American Dream by commenting on their cultural behavior in the 1960s and 1970s. The principles of Picaresque genre are revealed throughout the novel: first person narrative and episodic structure of a rogue hero. In 1764, the British declared Colonial currency illegal. The Continental Congress in 1775 issued currency to help finance the Revolutionary War. These notes were called "Continentals," had no value in gold or silver. The Continentals were backed by the "anticipation" of tax revenues, though easily counterfeited and without solid backing, the notes quickly became devalued. This period marked the first time that United States currency's value was derived solely from its purchasing power, as it is today. In 1792, American Congress passed the country 's first coinage act. This meant that the United States Mint was officially responsible for creating coins for public use. Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin were two of the men who contributed research and ideas towards the early versions of the coins. The Treasury Seal that was developed actually remained quite the same even until today.
