customer’s journey at a store entrance, track trends and anticipate potential health and
safety management issues.
PeopleCounter is a simple-to-install solution that enables managers accurately to count
people entering a store, or visiting locations outside of a retail context, which helps with
planning and resourcing, regulatory compliance, and seasonal, even daily trend analysis.

Retail environments are busy places in which it is difficult
to track precise occupancy numbers that provide valuable
insight into store visitor patterns, seasonal variations or
the influence of promotions and other factors.

However, retailers can’t simply have staff twiddling their thumbs in order to reduce the risk of
losing customers. Waiting times and queue length are major factors in the retail experience as they
affect customer satisfaction, staff productivity and sales optimisation.
QueueManager incorporates a unique methodology that enables retailers to monitor operations,
calculate the true impact of queue times and to take fast, effective action to reduce abandonment.
Facit integrates the queue management solution cost effectively with your existing camera
network. Any time that predetermined queue levels are exceeded, a text, email or Facit Software
alert is sent to store managers using the system. Armed with real-time knowledge, staff can make
an informed decision, allocate more staff to checkouts or even close non-productive tills and
directly influence sales.

The checkout or till area is a crucial part of the shopping
experience. It’s often where customer loyalty is won or
lost. Customer abandonment is a high risk.

At a glance you’ll be able to see what products or locations are acting as ‘honeypots’ and
tailor the plans of different store and merchandise layouts.
HeatMap data is created at each existing CCTV camera location and then combined into
a floor plan visualisation that enables better analysis and understanding of product
placement.
This sophisticated yet accessible mapping solution provides real-time information about
customer behaviour, trends and patterns in a more efficient and effective way than
complicated, expensive alternatives.

time and where purchases are made.

Facit helps retailers to observe events and implement change based on accurate reports. Our
customers are able to observe customer behaviour, interpret events and respond proactively in
order to maximise staff productivity, enhance customer satisfaction and optimise sales.
Our solutions are cost effective and easily installed. Facit empowers retailers to extract
maximum value from legacy infrastructure, such as security surveillance equipment, so that
what has traditionally been viewed as protection or shrinkage data can be used to improve
retail operations and achieve competitive advantage.
Facit provides its core solutions ‘out of the box’ and also works with retailers to develop
bespoke analytics solutions tailored to specific needs and in-house technology. To gain further
insight into in-store ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ behaviour - the physical and psychological wellbeing of a
retail estate - contact Facit for demo, ROI analysis, consultancy or product trials.

Implementing the Solution
Implementing the Facit solutions has been made as simple as possible to enable our clients to deploy
Facit across their retail estate and gain the benefits of portfolio-wide management information without
disruption to stores that have already been fitted out and are trading. Facit solutions can be deployed
using existing CCTV cameras, sometimes with a minor adjustment to the field of view. While IP cameras
are the ideal platform, Facit is also able to be deployed using older analogue CCTV networks.
The Facit suite has been designed to be infinitely flexible in the way it connects information between
stores and the management interface. There are connectivity solutions using a client’s own network or
cloud-based solutions, even wireless or cellular.
Flexible and Scalable - Intelligence at the Edge
We are working closely with leading camera manufacturers to integrate our PeopleCounter,
QueueManager and HeatMap solutions directly onto their IP Cameras, which gives even greater flexibility
by putting the intelligence at the edge and eliminating the need for any other in-store PC.
This means that a single store with one entrance can benefit from the Facit solutions, as much as a large
portfolio of mixed sized stores in many locations. Facit analytics solutions are designed to be scalable
and to work with all sizes of retail video surveillance network.
