FABRICATION OF ELECTRO-MECHANICAL
CONTROLLED BIKE STAND
INTRODUCTION
• Now a day’s placing a center stand while parking on the uneven road is difficult
and risky, to overcome his problem we are using some mechanical solutions. Our
project is mainly focuses on the problems faced by the senior citizens and women
who are using two wheelers. Most of the times in the scooters the engine is
placed at the rear part, so it is difficult for the women and senior citizens to apply
center stand
• Out of the 100 bike accidents, 12 of the bike accidents are occur due to the
negligence of leaving side stand. Keeping the people safety in the mind , the
project is designed more economical and affordable to use
• One of the advantage of using center stand over side stand is space. Parking
areas in some public places are very crowded (especially in cities). Using the
side stand means your bike is at an angle () to the road. So it takes up slightly
more space than if it was on its center stand (|).
• Looking at one bike alone, it doesn't look like we save a lot of space. But if you
consider 20 - 30 bikes parked in a row it probably means you can cram in a few
more bikes.

Reason For The Accident %Of Accidents
• 2012-2015 Forgetting to lift side-stand 36%
• 2012-2015 Does not maintain speed limit 38%
• 2012-2015 Does not obey traffic rules 22%

PROBLEM STATEMENT
• On surveying, it was found that around 70% males and 30% females drive
motorcycle
• Among those 70% males, around 30% are oldies and remaining are adults
• Most of the females and old people observe that it is very difficult to apply
centre stand and hence this made us develop and make it automated.
• Moreover, applying a side stand,More parking area is consumed if we use
side stand instead of center stand
• May cause back and/or leg injuries mainly for older people Because of people
forget to take the side stand-off while riding, accidents may happen
OBJECTIVE
• . To avoid lot of effort by a person to apply centre stand.
• To avoid accidents caused by improper use of side stand.
• To reduce the space required for the bike in parking by
using centre stand instead of side stand.
COMPONENTS USED:
1. Motor
2. Rack and Pinion Assembly
3. Frame
4. Electrical Switches
5. Battery
WORKING:
1. We are using rack & pinion mechanism in which pinion is connected to Dc motor
which can be controlled manually with the help of switches.
2. Rack is connected to the centre stand and side stand with the help of nut and
bolt adjustment. when the bike is at rest and to apply centre stand need to
activate anti-clockwise direction switch likewise for return need to activate clock-
wise stwitch .
3. To activate side stand we need to connect it with nut and bolt to the rack and
pinion joint.
Note: All of this components are arranged on the rectangular metal frame .

• This system can be applicable in all types of heavy two
wheeler vehicles.
