This paper proposes an extended fuzzy hyperline segment neural network (EFHLSNN) for fingerprint recognition, highlighting its superior performance compared to the existing fuzzy hyperline segment neural network (FHLSNN). The EFHLSNN employs a filterbank-based fingercode feature extraction technique to enhance fingerprint feature detection. Results indicate improved generalization, training, and recall times using the EFHLSNN classifier with the PolyU HRF fingerprint database.
