We all, in our societies, see crimes, such as robbery, assault, rape, murder, burglary, and embezzlement, as deviant. Therefore, it is the behavior that goes against all the norms, values and expectations of the society. Law is formally created to regulate the behavior of its members of the society, this is known as formal social control. Why do people violate laws or norms, and how the society reacts to such kind of acts? Usually, people argued that criminals who are considered a member of any society violates the rules or the law because the authorities do not provide them with the basic human needs to live a normal life so, they tend to satisfy their needs by committing crimes. On the other hand, others argued that some people on the societies have some physiological problems that they got from the nature of the environment they lived in which may lead to deviant behavior. In this essay, I will fully investigate whether different societies and authorities grant criminals their human rights. My research question is “to what extent do the rights of criminals influence the society and its culture?” In this essay, I have broken down this topic into components that are related to each other to answer the research question. Firstly, I will explore the concept of crime and its effect on the culture and the society. Also, I will investigate whether both societies and authorities provide their members the necessary means to achieve culturally valued goals to prevent deviant behavior. Secondly, I will look into both concepts of society and it’s culture that is exhibited into pattern of values, ideas, norms and it is relation to abnormal behavior that is displayed by some member of society. Further, I will discuss whether criminals are given their rights as members of the society and whether these rights will help the criminals to change their unaccepted behavior after their release from prison or these given rights to the criminals may lead another member of the society to deviant criminal behavior. Finally, I will examine a case study of two criminals that lived in different societies with one given his full rights and the other did not get any of his rights. There are several ethical theories described in Module 1: Ethical Theories. Module 2: Methods of Ethical Decision Making, describes frameworks for ethical analysis. For this paper, use the Reynolds Seven-Step approach to address the following:

Ethiopia's female population is 49.8%, but small businesses owned by women only make up 16.5% of the total number of entrepreneurs. Limited access to finance, business networks, development services, and business management skills hinders women entrepreneurs. The government is promoting women entrepreneurs through initiatives like training and financial support. The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) is introducing a customer-centric business model to cater to its customers' needs and values. The bank aims to increase the outreach of financial products and services to a larger population, particularly women who own business enterprises. The bank has established a micro business department to adjust itself with the micro business customers. These factors can be considered as business drivers and factors enforcing CBE to come up with a gender-specific solution.
To address the aforementioned issues, the micro business banking department is proposing a collateral-free loan product for women-owned enterprises to be launched by CBE. This would help to address the financing gap for formal MSMEs, ensuring comprehensive financial accessibility and services for women-owned enterprises. Furthermore, promoting financial inclusion and women's economic empowerment by financing women-owned enterprises can stimulate growth and form the backbone of vibrant economies.

One of the most complex issues that businesspersons and corporations face is ethics. Ethics is not as clearly defined as the law, and yet it can substantially impact a firm’s finances and reputation, especially when the firm is involved in a well-publicized scandal. Some scandals arise from conduct that is legal but ethically questionable. At other times, the conduct is both illegal and unethical. Business law and legal environment students must be able to think critically about both legal and ethical issues. As noted in the chapter-opening quotation, “New occasions teach new duties.”
Suppose that Finn Clayborn dropped out of Harvard University to start a company in Silicon Valley that developed and sold finger-prick blood-test kits. Clayborn raised millions from investors by claiming that his new technology would revolutionize blood testing by providing a full range of laboratory tests from a few drops of blood. The kits were marketed as a better alternative to traditional, more expensive lab tests ordered by physicians. They were sold at drugstores for a few dollars each and touted as a way for consumers to test their blood type and monitor their cholesterol, iron, and many other conditions. Within six years, Clayborn and his company were making millions. But complaints started rolling in that the test kits didn’t work and the results were not accurate (because more blood was needed). Numerous consumers, drugstores, and government agencies sued the company for fraudulent and misleading marketing practices. Clayborn’s profitable start-up now faces an uncertain future.
The goal of business ethics is not to stifle innovation. There is nothing unethical about a company selling an idea or technology that is still being developed. In fact, that’s exactly what many successful start-ups do—take a promising idea and develop it into a reality. But businesspersons also need to consider what will happen if new technologies do not work. Do they go ahead with production and sales? Suppose that Finn Clayborn dropped out of Harvard University to start a company in Silicon Valley that developed and sold finger-prick blood-test kits. Clayborn raised millions from investors by claiming that his new technology would revolutionize blood testing by providing a full range of laboratory tests from a few drops of blood. The kits were marketed as a better alternative to traditional, more expensive lab tests ordered by physicians. They were sold at drugstores for a few dollars each and touted as a way for consumers to test their blood type and monitor their cholesterol, iron, and many other conditions. Within six years, Clayborn and his company were making millions. But complaints started rolling in that the test kits didn’t work and the results were not accurate (because more blood was needed). Numerous consumers, drugstores, and government agencies sued the company for fraudulent and misleading marketing practices. Clayborn’s profitable start-up now faces an uncertain future.

Occupational fraud has become--at least so far--the crime of the 21st century. It is a widespread phenomenon that affects practically every organization. The frauds in the 2004 Report to the Nation on Occupational Fraud and Abuse, from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, caused over $761 million in total losses, with a disproportionate percentage committed against small businesses--almost half of the frauds in the study took place in businesses with fewer than 100 employees. Not surprisingly such businesses are less likely to be audited or employ antifraud measures than the larger ones.
Several broad conclusions can be drawn from the 2004 report. First, though the losses have been stable over the years, the fact that in one year alone they are approaching $660 billion is cause for concern. Dishonest executives and employees are plying essentially the same schemes with the same results. Second, although large financial statement frauds receive the most attention, they are relatively uncommon compared to asset misappropriations and corruption. Third, small businesses remain the most vulnerable to occupational fraud because of three factors: They are the least likely to have an audit, a hotline or adequate internal controls. Fourth, audits--both internal and external--although excellent prevention devices are not the most effective means of detecting frauds. Fifth, hotlines and other reporting mechanisms are a vital part of any organization's prevention efforts but should go beyond employees to vendors and customers, too. Finally, occupational fraud cannot be eliminated but organizations that use both hotlines and auditors can greatly reduce these costly crimes.
Occupational fraud schemes can be as simple as pilferage of company supplies or as complex as sophisticated financial statement frauds. This article summarizes some of the key findings of certified fraud examiners (CFEs) in cases they investigated. Internal and external auditors and CPAs advising small business clients will learn of the most effective antifraud measures.
MEASURING THE COST OF FRAUD
Determining the true cost of occupational fraud is an impossible task. Because fraud is a crime based on concealment, organizations often do not know when they are being victimized. Many frauds never are detected or are caught only after they have gone on for several years. Many of those are never reported or prosecuted. Occupational fraud has become--at least so far--the crime of the 21st century. It is a widespread phenomenon that affects practically every organization. The frauds in the 2004 Report to the Nation on Occupational Fraud and Abuse, from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, caused over $761 million in total losses, with a disproportionate percentage committed against small businesses--almost half of the frauds in the study took place in businesses with fewer than 100 employees. Not surprisingly such businesses are less likely to be audited or employ antifraud measures than the larger ones.
Several broad conclusions can be drawn from the 2004 report. First, though the losses have been stable over the years, the fact that in one year alone they are approaching $660 billion is cause for concern. Dishonest executives and employees are plying essentially the same schemes with the same results. Second, although large financial statement frauds receive the most attention, they are relatively uncommon compared to asset misappropriations and corruption. Third, small businesses remain the most vulnerable to occupational fraud because of three factors: They are the least likely to have an audit, a hotline or adequate internal controls. Fourth, audits--both internal and external--although excellent prevention devices are not the most effective means of detecting frauds. Fifth, hotlines and other reporting mechanisms are a vital part of any organization's prevention efforts but should go beyond employees to vendors and customers, too. Finally, occupational fraud cannot be eliminated but organizations that use both hotlines and auditors can greatly reduce these costly crimes.
Occupational fraud schemes can be as simple as pilferage of company supplies or as complex as sophisticated financial statement frauds. This article summarizes some of the key findings of certified fraud examiners (CFEs) in cases they investigated. Internal and external auditors and CPAs advising small business clients will learn of the most effective antifraud measures.

Anthony feels depressed and anxious about his current life situation, especially now that he realizes that he has no job and may be homeless because of his substance use. Larry, a 37-year-old gay man, has lived for three years with his partner, whom he met in graduate school. Larry works as a psychologist in a large hospital. Although competent in his work, he often feels strained by the pressures of his demanding position. An added source of tension on the job is his not being out with his co-workers, and, thus, he is not able to confide in anyone or talk about his private life. Most of his leisure activities are with good friends who are also part of the local gay community.

This final project should include a program foundation, program description, research proposal, and self-reflection.
The final product represents an authentic demonstration of competency because it requires students to apply classic theory in order to compose an original program based on advanced developmental principles. The project is divided into

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 2. 9. Bibliography Introduction To my understanding crime is any act that violates written criminal law. We all, in our societies, see crimes, such as robbery, assault, rape, murder, burglary, and embezzlement, as deviant. Therefore, it is the behavior that goes against all the norms, values and expectations of the society. Law is formally created to regulate the behavior of its members of the society, this is known as formal social control. Why do people violate laws or norms, and how the society reacts to such kind of acts? Usually, people argued that criminals who are considered a member of any society violates the rules or the law because the authorities do not provide them with the basic human needs to live a normal life so, they tend to satisfy their needs by committing crimes. On the other hand, others argued that some people on the societies have some physiological problems that they got from the nature of the environment they lived in which may lead to deviant behavior. In this essay, I will fully investigate whether different societies and authorities grant criminals their human rights. My research question is “to what extent do the rights of criminals influence the society and its culture?” In this essay, I have broken down this topic into components that are related to each other to answer the research question. Firstly, I will explore the concept of crime and its effect on the culture and the society. Also, I
- 3. will investigate whether both societies and authorities provide their members the necessary means to achieve culturally valued goals to prevent deviant behavior. Secondly, I will look into both concepts of society and it’s culture that is exhibited into pattern of values, ideas, norms and it is relation to abnormal behavior that is displayed by some member of society. Further, I will discuss whether criminals are given their rights as members of the society and whether these rights will help the criminals to change their unaccepted behavior after their release from prison or these given rights to the criminals may lead another member of the society to deviant criminal behavior. Finally, I will examine a case study of two criminals that lived in different societies with one given his full rights and the other did not get any of his rights. All these questions will be fully investigated and analyzed. STEEPLE and SWOT: Things to Look For STEEPLE Analysis 1. Social Consider: Demographics, age and structure of populations, patterns of work, gender roles, public opinion, life expectancies, religions, diet and nutrition, fads, entertainment, etc. Are the company’s target markets growing or shrinking? Are the company’s products trendsetting, or cultural touch points? What social mores have an influence on your company or product? 2. Technological
- 4. Consider: Information and communications, scale and rate of change, Internet downloads, streaming, etc. What capabilities does the company have now? What innovations is it pursuing? What other innovations in the marketplace now can the company adopt now or in the future? What technologies that it uses are in the mature or declining part of their cycle? 3. Economic Consider: Rate of economic growth, interest rates, inflation, disposable income, etc. Are the company’s markets experiencing growth or recession? Look at employment figures and trends. Examine domestic and international. What’s happened with the parent company’s stock price in the most recent years? Is it in step with market indicators? SWOT Analysis 1. Strengths Consider: What are the strengths the company has both internally and in the current marketplace? How are its finances? What are its strongest brands or product lines? What reputation does it have with its customers? How good is customer service? How do its revenues, sales, viewership or users reflect success, in comparison to its competitors? Be specific; cite facts/figures. 2. Weaknesses
- 5. Consider: What weaknesses could the company have in its internal operations and in its standing in the marketplace? Does it have any weak brands or product lines? What could it do better? Consider employees, prices, strategies, etc. Are its revenues, sales, viewership or users less than its competitors? Back up statements with facts/ figures and their sources. 3. Opportunities Consider: What opportunities exist in the market place? What 'unmet' potential customer needs present themselves for this company, with the type of products it provides. How could it modify its product line to meet those needs? Do its competitors have any weaknesses and how can the company take advantage of them? Does it have a potential or existing technology advantage? Back up statements. 4. Threats Consider: What threats to the company's potential success are there in the current economic environment? From competitors? From changing technology or from other forces such as political or ecological? Look at the environment of that industry as a whole. Is the industry or segment itself growing or shrinking? How could this affect the company in the future? Back up statements with facts/

Ecological Consider: Energy issues, cost of fuel, greening of the planet, pressure groups, disasters, etc. How does your company use natural resources? Does it have any “green” initiatives? Political Consider: Public services, taxes, unions, commissions, government stability, etc. What is happening in the company’s local community? What groundswells or demonstrations have taken place? Also, are there any people relationships inside the company that are affecting business? 6. Legal Consider: Advertising regulations, product safety, legislation, trade regulation, intellectual property protection/theft, etc. What’s happening with domestic laws (state or federal legislatures)? What’s happening with foreign laws in any overseas markets? Do consumers have any complaints or grievances? Are there any pending lawsuits or class actions? 7. Ethical Consider: Integrity, trust, diversity, compliance, decision-making, etc. Describe your company’s
