This experiment was conducted by students at the University of Buea to determine the fractional flow curve during waterflooding of a horizontal porous medium. They saturated a gravel-packed pipe with oil and injected water at intervals, measuring the displaced oil and water volumes. They calculated flow rates and fractional flows of water and oil, and plotted fractional flow versus water saturation to obtain the fractional flow curve showing the relationship between these properties during immiscible displacement.
