According to an experiment, a paper basin was boiled with water over a candle flame. The paper did not burn as the water boiled and turned to vapor, decreasing in volume. Once all the water had evaporated, leaving the paper dry, the paper then burned due to the candle flame. The requirements for burning are oxygen, fuel, heat source, and for the burning point of the material to be reached. In this experiment, the wet paper could not act as a fuel for burning until all the water had evaporated and the paper dried out.

1. According to our experiment, when we boil the water in paper basin, it shows us that the paper is not
torn by the fire when we boiled it on fire of the candle. After a few minutes, the water is boiled and
slowly, the volume of water is decrease because the water is change to be gas form when it was boiled.
After all of water is change to be vapor, until there is no water again in the basin, the paper is dry from
water, so that the paper is burned.
It was happened because there are conditions that something can be burned by the fire. There are:
1. There is Oxygen
2. There is fuel
3. There is heat source/fire
4. Burn point of the thing is reached

If there is no one of them, so the thing can’t be burned. In our experiment, there was no fuel. The
paper can’t be the fuel because every time the fire will burn the paper, the paper always wet
because the water. Because of the fire can’t burn water, so that the paper also can’t be burned. It
means, the burn point of the thing will never reach before the all of the water in paper basin
change into vapor (there is no water again in paper basin/ the paper basin is dry).
