This document discusses the design and modeling of an exhaust manifold using CATIA V5 software. It aims to reduce emissions by optimizing exhaust manifold designs for a multi-cylinder spark ignition engine and evaluating back pressure and exhaust velocity. It describes the goals of performance exhaust manifolds to decrease flow resistance and increase engine volumetric efficiency. It also discusses the exhaust pulse and pressure heads during the exhaust stroke and outlines the scope for further CFD analysis, use of stainless steel, and thermal/structural analysis of different manufacturing methods.
