Excel - Bakery Income Statement
Objective: Students will:
Create a spreadsheet organizing the revenues and expenses of the Fluffy Bakery
Calculate the total revenues, total expenses and net income for a three-year period using formulas.
Create a chart representing the data.
1. Open Excel
2. IMPORTANT: Save your file as Bakery_YourFirstLastName in your grade folder in the BakeryFolder.
3. Type the following information in the correct cells:

Right Align
Italic
4. Format B7 to D19 as currency with no decimal places.
5. In B10, enter formulas that use a function to calculate the
total revenues for each year.
6. In B17, enter formulas that use a function to calculate the
total expenses for each year. Total expenses are
calculated by summing all the expense categories.
7. In B19, enter formulas that use a function to calculate the
Net Income/(Loss). Net income is calculated by
subtracting the total revenues from the total expenses.
8. Rename Sheet 1 as Income.

Select (total expenses and net income) – A17-D18

Select “Clustered Column. Compare values across categories” (the first one)
