Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Double Skin Facade
The first building for the
business start-up campus, the
design is iconic and evokes a
positive future for emerging
technological development in
Riyadh.
Programmed to be LEED
accredited, design features
include a fully shaded double
skin façade, solar panel
parking shade, underfloor low
velocity ventilation. Energy
conserved over the base
model was at least 30%.
API Tower, Business Bay
Dubai, UAE
Business Bay was part of one of
the mega-projects almost
completed in Dubai.
This project was a 26 story glass
commercial high-rise on the
lagoon. Glass façade, podium
parking with street level shops.
The roof of the podium featured
a lake.
King Abdulah Financial District
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Four towers part of the
mega project of over
50 high rises, shopping
and conference
center.
These four towers
included two residential
and two commercial
office towers with
below ground parking
and connected with
shopping area at
podium level.
Estimated construction

Dubai, UAE
Mixed use
development with 175
townhouses, 125
apartments and ground
floor commercial.
Al Falah Prototypical Housing
Sharshah, UAE
These are examples taken from an array of different housing types
including townhouses, semidetached single houses and larger villas.
All came in a modern design and a traditional design.
After developing the housing typeS, locations for each unit were
coordinated with the site plan. Over 5,500 units were planned.
Ras Al Khair - O&M Facilities, Environmental Protection Building
Jubail, Saudi Arabia
Meant to be the maintenance
buildings for a section of what is
to be a large industrial city. Each
O&M facility (Sanitary,
Landscape, Roadways, Buildings
and General Services) was
similar in program but the entry
for each was designed with a
different color panel to give a
unique identity to the particular
department.
The Environmental department
had its own site and identity with
a testing lab and administration
offices. The administration
building has at its center a sky lit
garden courtyard.
Sustainable Residence 1995
New Jersey, USA
One of the first
sustainable homes in
New Jersey and
before LEED, this
home was designed
using the AIA’s Earth
Resource Guide. The
Guide was central in
determining the
materials best suited
for their use from an
environmental
perspective.
Cedar siding, metal
roof, high levels of
rigid insulation,
efficient windows
with ample sunlight
created a beautiful
place to live and
work.
The house doubled
in size but reduced
the energy bill in half
which the owners
loved.
Palace
Dubai, UAE
This house, or palace,
include grand
entertaining, generous
parking, huge cooking
facilities, room for 9
servants, shaded
courtyard, pool and
walking track.
Out-buildings include
garage, maintenance
and grounds keeper
home.
Kindergarten Concept

A playful concept for
daycare and
kindergarten with
animals and faces as
part of the façade. A
friendly dragon greets
visitors at the entrance.
Skylights and a light-
well, large covered
play area with terraces
and ramps create a
playful building in which
children can learn and
grow.
NAUFAR, Drug Rehabilitation Hospital
Doha, Qatar
This high end hospital
designed in a modern
yet traditional
vernacular, can be
thought of as a hospital,
hotel, clinic, and small
conference facility.
Meant to teach and
educate as much as
treat addicts, the
facility houses a
beautiful spa, rooms
that are hotel quality,
gym, playing court, an
array of eating facilities
for patients, visitors and
staff.
The very green garden
has a wide variety of
plants, an outdoor
sports field, and a lake
with a duck house. In
the center is the
mosque.
Museum of the Future to Come
Greenwich Meridian, U.K.
Located at the
Greenwich Meridian,
the museum consists of
a giant super computer
calculating the future
based on all the data it
can find such as
scientific, artistic,
personal, economic,
etc.
The location is at zero
time, where it all begins
at the GMT.
The bleachers which
cascade down the cliff
on the southern coast
of Britain allow visitors to
see images of the
potential/predicted
future projected on the
clouds. This is the
ephemeral future which
can change at any
moment due to events
in the present.
