California Water Crisis Essay
The drought in California isn t even close to seeing an end, in the article Solutions to California
Water Crisis From Half a World Away by Stephen Stock, Michael Bott, Jeremy Carroll and Felipe
Escamilla, it reports that California needs to brace itself for multiple decades more of this
monumental drought and that it going to take trillions of gallons of water to catch up to the state
current deficit. They summarized the severity of this droughtby saying that it could rain every day
in San Francisco and Oakland Californiafor the next decade and a half and the state still wouldn t
have even made a divot in the terms of catching up. When there s a shortage in the amount of water
available, a state or country relies on the hidden water supplies underground in aquifers and ground
water which they then drill into to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Why Do People Choose To Be Evil
To Choose to be Evil Every day people makes choices, they can be good or bad. These choices are
what define peoples morals. There is always evil and temptation surrounding mankind. The line
dividing good and evil is more blurred than ever with new temptations coming into play. Even more
now that society is advancing into the future. Mankind chooses to be evil. They are not born that
way, but the choices they make are what defines their morals. Throughout history there have been
cases that have proven the statement people aren t born evil; evil is made. These cases include the
Oklahoma bombing, Columbine High School shooting, and more recently the Boston marathon
bombing. The first event proving the evil of mankind is The Oklahoma City Bombing. This
bombing was a tragedy that happened on April 19,1995. The bombing was caused by Timothy
McVeigh. Mr. McVeigh had a bone to pick with the government. He did not like how the

The 119th running of the Boston Marathon happened April 15, 2013. Many people gathered in
boston Massachusetts to watch the runners take off. All those gathered at the finish line of the
race would ve never expected what happened that fateful day. Brothers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and
Tamerlan Tsarnaev were two of the million people who attended the event. What people didn t

finish line where they dropped their backpacks in the crowd of people and walked away. The two
bombs killed 3 marathon watchers and injured over 260 others. 16 people lost legs and the
youngest to lose a leg was a 7 year old girl. The two were said to be inspired by extremist islamic

VSD is a benign cardiac lesion the prognosis of which can be severely compromised with the
occurrence of infective endocarditis. Surgical repair reduces the risk but does not entirely

A Study On Common Cancer Treatments Essay
BACKGROUND Common cancer treatments such as anthracyclines and trastuzumab are
associated with an increased risk of cardiotoxicity, which is responsible for significant mortality and
morbidity in cancer survivors.[1, 2] Assessment of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) has
been, and continues to be the most widely used method for cardiotoxicity risk assessment prior to,
surveillance during, and surveillance after administration of potentially cardiotoxic cancer
treatment.[3] Since the 1970s,[4] multiple gated acquisition scanning (MUGA) has been the
preferred imaging modality for baseline and serial assessment of LVEF for cardiotoxicity. There is
concern that contemporary gamma cameras may not allow optimal patient positioning for LVEF
assessments.[3] Thus, it is possible that contemporary MUGA in cancer patients may not provide
accurate estimates of LVEFs. Inaccurate LVEF assessment may carry significant implications for
the care of cancer patients receiving potentially cardiotoxic treatment since LVEFs play an
important role in decisions to start, continue, hold or stop such treatment. The objective of this
study was to compare the accuracy of LVEFs obtained by contemporary clinical MUGA in
consecutive patients with cancer with reference LVEFs from cardiovascular magnetic resonance
imaging (CMR), the gold standard technique for assessment of left ventricular volumes and systolic
function.[5] METHODS Patients and data collection The study sample consisted of

School Prayer In School
Thesis: The removal of school prayer was a bad thing for students morals. Prayer sets a standard
for the students. Allowing prayer in school may improve a lot of things about the students at
school. The behavior of students would change dramatically kids would not be mean to other
students. Prayer is a action which proclaims that life is more than just saving an environment or
accumulating wealth (Hovis 1). People might think that God is evil, our experiments with
replacing affirmation of humanism has been a dismal failure. The only thing of evil is for good
men to do nothing. Removing the school prayer sends a message to our children, when we
allow laws to be passed which limit the free expression. The Federal and Supreme Court judges
should be impeached who undermines the freedom which this country was founded. The
situation has become so absurd that that congressional prayer cannot be voluntarily read in
school buildings. The removal of school prayer was a bad thing for students morals. Mortality
declines without prayer, prayer can shape a good citizen. With prayer students have something
to gain, they can be more helpful with others and the peers around them. Since prayer was
removed from school the violence has increased and grade have dropped. SAT s have dropped
drastically. More kids have been birth out of wedlock. Increased in drug used and increased in
juvenile crimes. Deterioration of school behavior also. People also have a choice to be faithful,

Pros And Cons Of Prison Reforms
The article I chose was Inmates launch massive nationwide strike to protest modern slavery in US
prison system by Feliks Garcia from The Independent. The main conclusion of the article was that
45 years after the Attica prison riot, many of the reforms demanded still exist today, and by
inmates in about 40 prisons bonding together they wish to make a change. Within the article, the
arguments presented as to why inmates are taking such measures is that besides the evident reason
to end injustice, there now seems to be a larger possibility for reform. I choose this article because
even if I may not have any direct connection to the U.S. prisonsystem, I wanted to know more on an

Although I do agree certain reforms need to be made to improve the living conditions of
prisoners, as I have stated, the arguments offered in this article were hindered by some instances.
I feel that the first argument had strong and credible evidence to support it, but with more
information provided it would have helped to inform a reader with no previous knowledge about
the history of the issue. As for the second argument, this one would have been much stronger with
the incorporation of hard data, such as the details of living conditions, and also if more than one
side of the problem had been presented. However, I did find the article very enlightening due to
the strength of being able to inform on the ongoing fight that little is heard about through specific
examples. Moreover, I enjoyed reading it because if there is an issue of injustice, I believe
something should be done, even if it does not pertain to

How Successful Were The Suffragettes
Were the Suffragettes Successful?
The Suffragettes were formed by Emmeline Pankhurst in October of 1903 as the Women s Social
and Political Union (WSPU) and were essentially a new organisation based on the National Union
of Women s Suffrage Societies (NUWSS), whose members were known as Suffragists. The
Suffragettes are famous, or rather infamous, for their use of violence. Their motto was, after all,
Deeds not Words . Historians still argue today as to how successful they were in their own right,
whether it was inevitable for women to get the vote, and, if so, how much of a contribution the
Suffragettes really made. Many argue that it was womens effort in the First World War that made
the most difference to women obtaining the vote in 1918, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Full electoral equality was not in place until the Representation of the People Act 1928. Both the
Suffragettes and the Suffragists celebrated up and down the country; the Act had been achieved
after tireless years of campaigning and four years of filling jobs left by men who went to war
which, to most, undeniably helped to convince Parliament to greater effect than the extreme
activities of the Suffragettes pre WW1. Many agree that the Suffragists efforts also played a very
important role, including Joyce Marlow, women s history writer, who wrote in Votes for Women
(2000);
Some would argue including me that it was the moderates of the NUWSS, led by Millicent
Fawcett, who actually won the vote. In 1912, while the militants embarked on arson and bombing,
the NUWSS made a successful working alliance with the growing Labour Party. It was this group
which successfully lobbied for the 1918 Franchise

Comparing Love in Go Tell It on the Mountain, Giovanni s...
Baldwin s first three novels Go Tell It on the Mountain, Giovanni s Room, and Another Country
boil over with anger, prejudice, and hatred, yet the primary force his characters must contend with
is love. Not meek or mawkish but ...something active, more like fire, like the wind (qtd. in O Neale
126), Baldwins notion of love can conquer the horrors of society and pave the way to emotional
security (Kinnamon 5). His recipecalls for a determined identity, a confrontation with and
acceptance of reality, and finally, an open, committed relationship. Though Baldwin s characters
desperately need love, they fail to meetthese individual requirements, and the seeds of love they
sow never take root and grow to fruition.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Baldwin points to his high school writing as an act of love. It was an attempt not to get the world
s attention it was an attempt to be loved. It seemed a way to save myself and a way to save my
family. It came out of despair (qtd. in Kinnamon 3). Baldwin believes in the redemptive power of
love, the power to save. But first must come despair. All of Baldwin s characters suffer
tremendously, for they live in modern society. Few love. Since suffering is universal but a love
fulfilled is not, suffering alone does not allow one to love, ...but if dealt with courageously...can
lead to self knowledge, self acceptance, and the forging of a genuine self identity (Nelson 122).
With no internal conflicts, one can open up to another person, and love can flower.
This process, however, is rarely completed. In Another Country a vivid portrait of the universal
need for love is suggested by Rufus s interpretation of a saxophonist s improvisation. Rufus plays
in a jazz combo with a young saxophonist who already ...had received the blow from which he
never would recover (9):
...[S]omewhere along the line he had discovered that he could say it with a saxophone. He had a
lot to say. He stood there, wide legged, humping the air, filling his barrel chest, shivering in the
rags of his twenty odd years, and screaming through the horn Do you love me? Do you

The Juvenile Justice System Essay
1.Name four problems that existed with the juvenile justice system in the early 19thcentury. The
juvenile justice system was subject to a lot of corruption and civil rights violations in its early
stages. Juveniles did not have the same rights as adults and could be forced into terrible living
or working conditions. With no child labor laws, delinquent juveniles could be sentenced to
forced labor in factories or to houses of refuge. With the ruling of Ex Parte Crouse, the state took
ultimate responsibility of children and send them to these institutions, even against the will of
the parents. Some of these institutions, such as houses of refuge may have started with good
intention, but they ultimately led to rampart corruption and abuse of juveniles. 2.Which type of
children and young people did Reform Schools focus on working with? Houses of Refuge were
intended for which type of juveniles? Reform schools formed to take custody of wayward or
incorrigible children that the state deemed necessary. A child could be taken from their parents
and sent to a reform school if it is deemed that the parents are not providing a good enough home
for them. Houses of refuge were designed to get juveniles out of the adult system. It was proven
that locking up youths with criminals was a bad idea for multiple reasons, so houses of refuge
were formed to separate them. They were designed for those juveniles that the state deemed
savable, and those seen as to far gone would be sent to the

The Nature And Role Of Law In Democracy
The nature and role of law is important to political theory because the use of law raises important
questions about oppression versus liberation and morality. Law in a democracy in relation to the
citizens that it governs should strive not to oppress, but rather to liberate and assist citizens when
in conflict with higher officials or fellow citizens. Laws in a democracy should be held with the
intent of safeguarding the public and promoting the common good. John Stuart Mill makes a valid
point when he says: The only purpose for which power can rightfully be exercised over any
member of a civilized community against his will is to prevent harm to others.
In addition to this, there is a fine line between the law and morality, as not every citizen shares the
same moral values. Law is able to be more finite, as it has a written set of rules that citizens should
strive to follow. However, morality is more subjective, as it weighs the right and wrong in given
situations.
The rule of law simply states that the law should be the overarching guideline. The rule of law
provides a framework that both citizens and government officials should follow. John Locke
stated that the rule of law provided protection from every other member of society, as indeed they
are from him. The rule of law allows for the right to life, liberty, and property so long as harm is
not taken to other citizens. In addition, the rule of law protects individuals from the state and
ensures that government is

The key messages conveyed by Foschi were that the company has a strict safety policy, all crew
behaved according to evacuation procedures and that the poor judgment of Captain Schettino
caused the incident. Many questions and allegations were brought up during the conference such
as reports that the captain left the ship before all passengers and crew had been evacuated. Foschi
responded by saying, We are unable to ascertain whether he left the ship before the conclusion of
the evacuation. Some internal testimony indicates that he really tried to stay on board but we have
to wait for the formal investigation. So, Foschi stated that the company had to wait for the
conclusion of the formal investigation to comment any further on that allegation, yet they were
quick to put all the blame on the captain to mitigate their own liability. Foschi said that the
captain wanted to salute the island of Giglio by bringing the ship close to the shore. He did not
follow the authorized route that was frequently used by Costa Ships and brought the ship about
150 metres from the island where it struck the rock, which was clearly marked on charts. Foschi
confirmed that on one other occasion, August 9th and 10th 2011, another Costa ship sailed close to
shore but the path was approved by all necessary authorities and the ship was never less than 500

The energy balances are to be verified over the condenser and evaporator. The efficiency of the
compressor is to be determined. Lastly, an energy balance of the compressor is to be performed.
Apparatus:
Figure 1 depicts the cycle used in this experiment and its individual control volumes. The system
uses water and refrigerant 134 a as the working fluids. The cycle operates between two different
pressures, the high pressure of the condenser and the low pressure of the evaporator. The condenser
is used to remove sufficient energy from the refrigerant to transform it completely into liquid. The
evaporator is used to vaporize the refrigerant by adding energy supplied by the warm water. The
throttling valve serves the purpose of reducing the pressure of the refrigerant resulting in isenthalpic
expansion. The compressor supplies energy to the refrigerant, and under ideal conditions works in a
quasistatic adiabatic manner.

Figure 2 depicts the Hylton Air and Water Heat Pump Systems used for this experiment. Viewing
Figure 2, the incoming cold water splits into two separate lines. One line heads towards the
evaporator and the other line heads towards the condenser. The flow rate of each line is measured

Annotated Bibliography On Nuclear Weapons
United States[edit]
Main articles: Nuclear weapons and the United States and United States and weapons of mass
destruction
The United States developed the first atomic weapons, during World War II in cooperation with the
United Kingdom and Canada as part of the Manhattan Project, out of the fear that Nazi Germany
would develop them first. It tested the first nuclear weapon in 1945 ( Trinity ), and remains the only
country to have used nuclear weapons against an enemy state in warfare, devastating the
Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was the first nation to develop the hydrogen
bomb, testing an experimental prototype in 1952 ( Ivy Mike ) and a deployable weapon in 1954
( Castle Bravo ). Throughout the Cold War it continued to modernize and enlarge its nuclear
arsenal, but from 1992 on has been involved primarily in a program of Stockpile
stewardship.[28][29][30] The U.S. nuclear arsenal contained 31,175 warheads at its Cold War...

The weapon was developed as a deterrent against both the United States and the Soviet Union.
Two years later, China had a fission bomb capable of being put onto a nuclear missile. It tested
its first hydrogen bomb ( Test No. 6 ) in 1967, a mere 32 months after testing its first nuclear
weapon (the shortest fission to fusion development known in history).[40] The country is currently
thought to have had a stockpile of around 240 warheads, though because of the limited
information available, estimates range from 100 to 400.[41][42][43] China is the only NPT

Hypochondria Argumentative Essay
Hypochondria, most have heard this word before, whether on a television show or even in comedic
jokes. But, what is hypochondria? Most people who have heard of this illness disassociate it from
its definition. Hypochondria is when a healthy person is obsessively worried about their health,
usually believing they are ill with something they are not. Although, people who are seriously
afflicted with this mental sickness can develop other symptoms, and are called hypochondriacs.
To begin with, there are quite a few symptoms of hypochondria that a person may utilize to find
whether or not they, or another person, suffers from this disorder. To start, a person may develop
severe anxiety, to the point to where it incredibly influences their daily life in a debilitating way. Of
course, the more obvious characteristic is the irrational belief that the person, suspected to be a

be taken less seriously than any other mental illness. Hypochondria is just as real as any other
disease, affecting about nine percent of the population. Both women and men can contract it, and
age has no influence. Everyone is at risk; the most effective way of combating hypochondria is

Analysis Of Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire
Tennessee Williams was born in Columbus, Mississippi in 1911. A Streetcar Named Desire was
set at around his time and it describes the decline of the Southern Belle named Blanche DuBois.
The pathos found in Williams s drama came from the playwright s own life. Alcoholism,
depression, loneliness, desire, as well as insanity all played a huge part throughout William s
lifetime, thus, incorporating these into his own life. Williams portrayed different social groups in
his plays, and how they clash (such as the role of men and women, the urban and southern
lifestyles) to criticize many aspects of society such as social criticism.

that the American dream may not exist since Blanche was unable to achieve it. Furthermore,
love is the main desire for Blanche and Mitch was represented as her main desire for love but, he
did not replace her previous love. However, this connotes that she was able to achieve some
aspects of her American dream or her desire by meeting Mitch when she says Yes I want Mitch...

Restaurant management can examine the food in the kitchen, but customer satisfaction depends to
a considerable extent on the way it is served. The quality of education is so difficult to measure that
few educational organizations have a formal quality control system. 3. Labor Intensive
Manufacturing companies add equipment and automate production lines, thereby replacing labor
and reducing costs. Most service companies are labor intensive and cannot do this. Hospitals do
add expensive equipment, but mostly to provide better treatment, and this increases costs. A law
firm expands by adding partners and new support personnel. 4. Multi Unit Organizations Some
service organizations operate many units in various locations, each unit relatively small. These
organizations are fast food restaurant chains, auto rental companies, gasoline service stations, and
many others. Some of the units are owned; others operate under a franchise. The similarity of the
separate units provides a common basis for analyzing budgets and evaluating performance not
available to the manufacturing company. The information for each unit can be compared with
system wide or regional averages, and high performers and low performers can be identified.
However, because units differ in the Mix of services provide, in the resources that they use, and in
other ways, care must be taken in making such

Automobiles and the American Society
The Automobile and American Society
Before the invention of the automobile, travel was a very difficult thing. Horses and carriages were
needed to transport a person from one place to another. Consequently, many people lived their entire
lives without travelling much further than the outskirts of the village or town in which they were
born. Since there was little travel, locations which had attracted enough people grew into large
metropolitan cities where anything that a person needed could be obtained within a short distance
from their front doors. The large cities attracted even more people because these then became the
locations where the most profitable jobs could be found. Once employment was found, the person
would move into the city and raise their family who would then contribute to the growth of the city.
This is how things were until the automobile was invented. Few people who first encountered the
machine could know that it would forever change the geographic and sociological makeup of the
United States of America, but that is what it did. Trains had already been invented and people
could travel from one side of the country to the other, but they could only go to the destinations
which had railroad lines. The automobile gave the individual the ability to choose their own
destination both physically and metaphorically. By the end of the 1920s more than 26 million cars
were produced, one for approximately every five people of the United States (Faragher 2009,

Encoding Specificity is very important in understanding how memory is retrieved and stored.
Memory is easier to be recalled when this information is encoded. The encoding specificity is best
understood by looking at the associations between contextual cues that were formed during the
encoding and the information that needed to be encoded in the memory. Most encoding specificity
is associated with cue recall of specific episodic memory(Wardell Read, 2013). Encoding specificity
has cues that help associate it with the target that is being presented. This helps because they can
retrieve information that was stored in their memory. By encoding specificity, the cue helps them
search their memory to remember what the target was.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this study, alcohol expectancies follow the cues that are part of the drinking context. This many
become involved with alcohol expectancy memories. The idea of cue induced activation of alcohol
expectancies is more likely to be involved with positive and not negative expectancies. It is thought
that encoding specificity suggests that activation of certain information in the memory is best
recalled when the cues is strongly connected with the information that is being encoded. They
focused their study on heavy drinkers because they have more contextual information about alcohol
then other people (Wardell Read, 2013). Looking at another study by Vogt and Bröder following
what Starns and Hicks (2005) did with their study. Starns and Hicks discussed mismatching versus
matching and which was better for retrieving information. They had a variety of different matching.
They had people distinguish the match between the presentation sources in items and the test phase.
Encoding specificity explains that matching is better than mismatching in one dimension and
should increase retrieving time (Vogt Bröder, 2007). This explains that pair of words are easier
to be remembered when they are different. If the pairs are similar, it is harder to recall what the
information was that was

How Did Django Reinhardt Influence Jazz
During World War II, the people of Europe had very limited forms of entertainment to keep them
positive and their spirt s up. One source of happiness and entertainment for them was music
though. Jazz grew in popularity in Europe after it was introduced by American troops to
Europeans during World War I. It remained popular between wars and was known as a symbol of
opposition to colonialism during the second World War. One of the most famous and influential jazz
guitarists of this era was Django Reinhardt. Django Reinhardt was one of the most prominent
musicians of his time for his style of combining American jazz with some Gypsy influences. His

Obstacles In Thomas Jefferson s First Barbary War
Thomas Jefferson encountered many obstacles during his presidency, in which one of the issues
was the First Barbary War, in which the United States and Sweden fought against the Barbary
States. One of Jefferson s first actions as president was to reduce military establishments, in hope
of transcending wars and peaceful era. The First Barbary War or Tripolitanian War lasted from
1801 to 1805 in the United States. The reason for waging the war was that pirates of the North
Barbary States were intercepting American merchant ships and retaining the sailors for ransom,
demanding the U.S. to pay tribute to the Barbary rulers. Jefferson declined to pay the price and
ordered the American Navy to attack the Barbary Pirates. Even though Congress never

A Modest Proposal for Euthanasia Essay
A Modest Proposal for Euthanasia
Euthanasia is a controversy that cannot be resolved from a single court ruling or a single person s
opinion. Many proposals have been suggested based on various studies and surveys. In You Say
Murder, I Say Euthanasia, Clair Rayner describes a notable proposal regarding extreme euthanasia
cases. The proposal, which has been put into the Science of Museum forum, recommends complex
cases to be considered individually. In Assisted Suicide Largely Shunned, the anonymous author
offers statistics that oppose the ethics of euthanasia.

It was granted. (Rayner 31) This was a decision that ended the boy s suffering, however it did not
allow doctors to euthanaize and bring about a painless death. Instead, the boy died of
dehydration and starvation and may have felt the effects of it despite being unconscious. In
cases such as Tony Bland s, the proposal would come into play. These cases involve people that
require special care and judgment due to their condition. For the proposal to function properly,
there could be no outside pressure from family and friends; the decision would solely be made by
the patient. A psychiatric illness cannot be present, all medical care would have to be given first,
and lastly, the patient would go to a court made up of medical and legal experts (Rayner 31). In
Assisted Suicide Largely Shunned, the author presents the audience with an informative set of case
study that implies the author s extreme opposition to euthanasia. One surprising fact is that most
dying patients today would not choose to be euthanized if they had that right. About one of ten
patients who were terminally ill said they seriously considered using euthanasia or physician
assisted suicide. Fewer than 6 percent said they had seriously discussed either measure for

numerous other ladies who would feel hopelessly sad. Her fierce response promptly demonstrates

Every departmental manager within Lanway classed the internet within their three most
important resources. This in itself shows the importance of the role it plays in today s business
market. For firms such as Lanway, it is the fastest and most efficient way of obtaining up to the
date and accurate (in the most part) information and offers the best cost/benefit trade off.
However the internet brings with it, from an informational view point, a host of inherent
problems and issues. Lanway, like many other firms suffers from this. In most cases, staff were
unaware of many of these, and as such the quality of information suffered. The accuracy of the
information received is on the most part never checked, and in some cases was then stored to be
used for future reference. No guidelines exist as to whether only official websites were to be
used, nor had any training be given on effectively using the internet itself. No one information
store was available, in which staff could save data collected, such as URL s or product catalogue

employee held their own specific ideas and information on using the internet and in many cases
time was wasted performing repetitive tasks and retrieving duplicate information. Once again,
because the sharing of information was minimal, the speed and accuracy of

Paramount Decision Of 1948
The Paramount decision of 1948 and the Hollywood blacklist altered the direction of the
filmmaking business in America, one that I believe has had a lasting impression for decades. The
Paramount decision of 1948 refers to a court decision against the major film companies,
Paramount, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, Loew s MGM, Columbia, Universal and United
Artists to outlaw their price fixing and monopolization of the industry. The Hollywood blacklist
referred to a list of studio employees from 1947 until 1957 that were linked to association to the
Communist party, and were to be blacklisted form the filmindustry indefinitely, or until made
innocent of their involvement. Both of these major events of the film industry in the 1930s until
1950s had a major impact on business. (Lewis 195)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The movie companies at that time not only owned the movie, they also owned the majority of
movie theatre. This allowed them to block book the first run movies that everyone wanted to

when a particular film was a hit. (Lewis 196) The effect of the Paramount decision had an
immediate effect on the industry, as revenues decreased by over 20 percent over the next few
years. Studio profits declined from $120 million in 1946 to $31 million in 1950. Although the large
studios took a loss from the decision, the independent studios were able to benefit. According to
The History Channel, the Para mount decision allowed independent producers could finally

In addition, this conformity can be seen through the bystanders effect which Arkady takes part

the end of the passage. When Arkady first discusses the stopping of the beatings, he later also
counterparts it by saying, Is it my place. The man s a bailiff (Walker 2); and when Bazarov
mentions that thieves should be stopped, Arkady responds with, That s what I was thinking
(Walker 2), accepting his defeat. His opinion changes due to what his acquaintance is doing, being
a bystander, and even the fear of authority figures powers. He clearly displays his inferiority and
conformity as a result of the fascism. Finally, when Arkady essentially accepts his defeat, Bazarov
shows his approval of Arkady s conformity by praising his thought process. On the surface level it
might seem like a genuine compliment, but the time of his compliment shows a different side;

it doesn t mean that it isn t there. Lebron James is one of the most famous sports stars alive, and
his image and endorsement are worth tens of millions of dollars a year. He s got a carefully

Beyond Porter A Critique of the Critique of Porter
The writings of the American managementguru and Harvard Professor Michael E Porter are
considered to be among the most influential of their subject and among the most critiqued ones.
Porter had a lasting influence on strategic management with his books about competitive advantages
on industry level and on global level, which were written in the eighties. Porter s models like the

and convenience rather than price and selection. The average DG store is 6,900 square feet with
about 4,900 stock keeping units (SKUs) serving customers who live within five miles of the
store. The average Wal Mart on the other hand is over 100,000 square feet containing more than
75,000 SKUs and serves many customers living more than five miles away. Strategically limiting
the number of brands and sizes as well as purchasing fast turning SKUs gives DG the leverage to
negotiate low purchase prices when bargaining with suppliers based on the higher volume of
individual SKUs being purchased. This allows them to offer competitive prices while achieving
price parity with big box retailers selling the same items and on occasion even beating these
competitor s prices. Focusing on both price and convenience also allows DG to compete and
differentiate themselves from other small convenience, discount, and drugstore retailers who
typically focus on either price or convenience but

Because additional galvanizing units were expected to be put into operation, the demand for
zinc was expected to grow continuously. In 2006, domestic consumption and exports of lead
acid batteries, the main lead consuming industry, had increased by 20 per cent and 35 per cent,
respectively over 2005 levels. On the supply side, capacity growth was constrained by a lack of
high quality mines and limited smelter capacity. SZLN forecasted that this growth trend in the
demand for lead and zinc products would continue and, thus, increased its annual capacity to
180,000 tons of lead zinc ore and 400,000 tons of metal products. This expansion was financed
by issuing 60 million new shares from which SZLN received proceeds of RMB700 million.
Output of ore in 2007 was approximately 99,900 tons of zinc and 45,500 tons of lead. Metal
output was 181,500 tons of zinc metal products and 92,200 tons of lead electrodes. Thus, the firm
was required to purchase ore from both domestic and international companies to feed its
manufacturing operations. The prices of lead and zinc in 2007 fluctuated like a roller coaster. In a
review of the competitive situation in 2008, SZLN made the following key observations: Page 3
9B10N007 According to the data, the total capacity of the top 10 domestic lead zinc companies was
less than 50 per cent of domestic total capacity, which indicated a fragmented industry. In 2007,
upstream companies expanded downstream, and some

Deductive Argument On Rhetoric
Scene: After Aristotle s funeral, some of his student s get drunk following the service, which leads
to a discussion of the line between how morality and public perception shape rhetoric.
Syllogion: If there is such a thing as a complete proof, then saying that today is a depressing day
for the world would be just that. It s almost irrefutable. Would you pass me the wine, Revolutio?
Revolutio: I don t think I will. I think you ve had a little too much to drink if you believe that,
Syllogion. That s pretty funny coming from Mr. deductive argument himself. Aristotles works were

Taking a Look at Body Art
Research Assignment (Body Art) Body painting is a certain form of art that continued with humans
through the ancient times to the modern day times, where artists use the human body as canvasses
to show beauty like no other style of artwork can. African, European, Asia, and Australian tribes
have shown records that body paintingwas used. The tribes were using pigments from plant leaves
and fruits to decorate themselves because body art was an important part of their lives. Body art
would represent qualities of the people, goals for life, gods, and many war themes. The first full
body paintingarose in 1933 of a naked model in Chicago. Body painting spread out during the
1960 s when hippies began the movement in the United States. It is important to clarify that
body painting is not just applied to nude bodies, but also can be applied to pieces of skin. Alexa
Meade is a very skilful artist and has a certain style and view of body painting herself. Alexa was
born and raised in 1986 in Washington, D.C. In 2009, Meade graduated from Vassar College in
Poughkeepsie, NY majoring in political science. Meade received her bachelor s degree, but never
attended art school. Meade was forced to teach herself how to paint, which started at the age of 15.
When interviewed, Meade stated, I didn t have to think of painting as this thing on canvas, because
I didn t have any practice doing that. I just saw paint as something that can be used in space. When

Meniscus Trauma
One of the most common injuries that can occur in a person s life is an injury to the meniscus.
The meniscus is a vital part of cartilage located between the bones of the knee. It helps with
stability, mobility and also cushions the knee. There are several menisci within the knee and this
along with the variety of motions and impacts that can occur to one s kneeare what cause the
likelihood of injuryto increase dramatically. The various types of tears require different kinds of
rehabilitation. Some of these tears may require surgery. By understanding the injury and different
types of treatment options, an injured person will have a better chance at a full recovery.

The at home treatment, R.I.C.E., is recommended with minor tears. R.I.C.E is the acronym for
rest, ice, compress, and elevate. Rest means not to overuse the injured area; keep the knee
mobile, but cut down on its use. Ice means to ice the injured area for ten minutes and then ten
minutes off several times, and repeat this pattern three times a day; these numbers may change
depending on your doctor. Compression helps diminish swelling of the injured area. Keep the
injured area firmly compressed with a wrap or compression band and make sure it is not too
tight because this will restrict blood flow and slow the healing process. The tightness of the
compress should limit expansion and not cause severe compression. The knee should be
elevated at least twice a day. Raise the injured area above the heart. In the knee, this is easily
done by lying down on your back and raising your leg. Anti inflammatory medications such as
ibuprophin, advil, motrin and naproxen may be recommended, but ask your doctor before using
any medications. For more serious tears, such as moderate to large tears in the red zone ,
surgery will be a likely solution. This surgery is called a meniscectomy . This is where the
doctor will remove the entire injured meniscus. For tears that spread from the red zone to the
inner two thirds of the meniscus, surgery may not help. Another option is a partial meniscectomy.
This surgery is where only a part of the meniscus is removed. Talking with your doctor will be the
deciding factor. Decisions will be made based on the meniscus ability to heal as well as the patient
s age, health, and activity

Fruit Fly Trap
How to Make a Fruit Fly Trap
Oh, those pesky fruit flies! They seemingly appear out of nowhere taking up residence in your
kitchen and home. While they re most attracted to ripened fruits and vegetables, they can also be
found breeding in drains, garbage disposals, empty bottles and cans, trash containers and even mops
and cleaning rags. So, what can you do about these nuisance pests before they contaminate your
food with bacteria trap them and eliminate them!
A day in the life of a fruit fly
You can clean your kitchen until it gleams, but until all potential breeding areas are located and
eliminated, fruit flies will spread no matter how much you ve scrubbed. Generally, they lay their
eggs near the surface of fermenting foods and materials. Once they ve hatched, the tiny larvae
continue to feed near the surface of the fermenting mass. What s worse, the reproductive potential
of fruit flies is huge. So, if conditions are right they will lay about 500 eggs. And the entire
lifecycle from egg to adult happens in about one week. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem is, finding the source of attraction can be somewhat challenging. The best approach for
eliminating these pests suggests the University of Kentucky, Entomology, is to build a trap and
attract adult flies, where they can be eliminated for good.

First toss out any overripen fruit, and then try this effective remedy to banish fruit flies from your
kitchen. Fruit flies are naturally attracted to fermented foods, and apple cider vinegar is made from
fermented apples. It s a match made in heaven!

Nevada Is Not The Typical Lawyer
While Papantonio was able to predict a few quality of Nevada based on his research, Nevada is
not the typical lawyer. Papantonio sent out his survey to hundreds of lawyers and his data was
based on people who practiced in the 1990s, naturally some things that he predicted would be
incorrect. It s also worth noting that it s implausible that a lawyer would match the study in every
category anyway. On average Nevada is a better attorney than his colleagues. Unlike the typical
attorney Nevada did take time off for vacation. Another characteristic that Nevada doesn t share
with the average lawyer written by the scholars is that he handles far more cases on a yearly basis.

Clients have respect for Nevada s work because it helps them to resolve fears that they could

that Nevada has taken the time to explain every step. The week before I arrived to work at the
firm Nevada had taken a week long vacation but, that behavior was seen as rare within the
confines of the book. Papantonio accounted that between 20 and 26% of lawyers demand 5 to 4
weeks respectfully of vacation (Papantonio, 1995). He proceeds to state that only 8% took 5
weeks off and 16% took 4 weeks off (Papantonio, 1995). Lawyers are by their very nature
workaholics and they will refuse to take time off but, Nevada was not constrained to that style of
thinking. He took time off to travel and relax which in turn mitigated is potential to burnout. The
fact that most lawyers work 250 hours or more a month should equate that they need to take time
off from time to time but, most lawyers ultimately refuse to. Papantonio accounts in his survey that
41.1 % of survey recipients can t relax (Papantonio, 1995). As against his time during the
internship, Nevada was refreshed and motivated to try new ideas. A vacation every once and while
seems to be a necessity to prevent burning out. Once he returned from his

Hard to find someone who really believes that public schools can give as good results as private
schools. Is it true? Our public education can give as good results as private, and also fulfils a social
function without public funding, it would be impossible to achieve: to serve the entire student
population and allow gaps in educational inequality begin to be reversed.
Every year, high school results seem to confirm the supremacy of private education: high school
average of note who come from private schools is much better than those who come from public
schools. From high school students to make the average marc achieved by those who come from
public schools is 69.2, while those who come from private schools get an average of 79.9. (La
Nacion Opinion, 2013)
True is, the average private note is higher than the public, and rightly so. What is surprising is that a
huge number of students from both public schools get higher grades than those studying in private
schools.

Exploring The Scars Of Centuries Essay

8 June 2015
Exploring the Scars of Centuries Human slavery is a phenomenon that has been present since the
times of the Romans and the Greeks. As a common misconception, societies, especially America s
tend to believe that slavery was always black. Throughout a period of enslavement, human beings
have again and again treated slavery and racial hierarchy as an act of the norm embedded in human
behavior, which they use in order to make a clear distinction between them and us to justify such
atrocious and immortal acts. With careful analysis of premature human enslavement, whiteness as
beauty, the west and the rest, disparities between European ethnic groups, the study of
anthropology, white slavery, linguistic movements, popular culture and different political
institutions supported by America s governing law, the creation of the white raceis drawn. With
emphasis on the role played by Irish and Black Americans, the support of structural forces and
cultural practices taken from historical examples drawn from the literary works of Harris, Painter,
Roediger and Katznelson, slavery misconceptions, the distinction between races, the formation of
the white race and its benefits and the homogeneity between black and slavery become apparent.
Taking the broader history of human enslavement into account, slavery seen during the time of the
Greeks and the Romans shows an enormous misconception of slavery: slavery was not

(2015) has described dementia in Ireland as underfunded and under developed . This is an issue in
Ireland because there is a fast growing rate of dementia patients seen each year. The increase in the

such as community projects and more community services.
The various methods of housing and care facilities in the EU are housing with care, sheltered
housing, hostels and specialist care units. The main form of care for people suffering from
dementia is family and home care. There are very few care facilities located in Ireland compared
to those in other EU countries. People with dementia usually do not receive the treatment and
attention that they need until it is too late. Cahill et al. (2012) explains that the funding system in
Ireland is more supportive of home care rather than long term care facilities. Only 6% of dementia
funding is available to community care services. It is a large belief that most patients with

  • 2. California Water Crisis Essay The drought in California isn t even close to seeing an end, in the article Solutions to California Water Crisis From Half a World Away by Stephen Stock, Michael Bott, Jeremy Carroll and Felipe Escamilla, it reports that California needs to brace itself for multiple decades more of this monumental drought and that it going to take trillions of gallons of water to catch up to the state current deficit. They summarized the severity of this droughtby saying that it could rain every day in San Francisco and Oakland Californiafor the next decade and a half and the state still wouldn t have even made a divot in the terms of catching up. When there s a shortage in the amount of water available, a state or country relies on the hidden water supplies underground in aquifers and ground water which they then drill into to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And for the better part of the last decade the most of that water has been wasted, vanished, and overused. According to the article California s Drought Is Part of a Much Bigger Water Crisis. Here s What You Need to Know by Amanda Zamora, Lauren Kircher and Abreham Lustgarten, Acrane laws aren t telling framers to reduce or stop taking water from the rivers, instead there doing the complete opposite where there encouraging the farmers to take more water then they require from not only the limited amount the Colorado has, but also from the other rivers in California as well. You even have some federal subsidies encourage farmers to plant some of the crops that use the most water. (Zamora, Kirchner and Lustgarten) Because of all the overuse, misuse and wasted water the Colorado Rivers flow has decreased tremendously and that has directly impacted the critical low amount of water that Lake Mead now holds. The amount of disregard the citizens and leading officials have towards this severe drought, is what is going to make water the oil of the 21st ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Why Do People Choose To Be Evil To Choose to be Evil Every day people makes choices, they can be good or bad. These choices are what define peoples morals. There is always evil and temptation surrounding mankind. The line dividing good and evil is more blurred than ever with new temptations coming into play. Even more now that society is advancing into the future. Mankind chooses to be evil. They are not born that way, but the choices they make are what defines their morals. Throughout history there have been cases that have proven the statement people aren t born evil; evil is made. These cases include the Oklahoma bombing, Columbine High School shooting, and more recently the Boston marathon bombing. The first event proving the evil of mankind is The Oklahoma City Bombing. This bombing was a tragedy that happened on April 19,1995. The bombing was caused by Timothy McVeigh. Mr. McVeigh had a bone to pick with the government. He did not like how the government handled The Waco Siegeor... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Surgical repair reduces the risk but does not entirely excludes it due to development of minor complications Right sided endocarditis is mainly a disease of intravenous drug abusers. It can also occur in nondrug addicts. The incidence of right sided infective endocarditis ranges from 5 10% in different series.. The majority of cases involve the tricuspid valve [1]. Isolated pulmonary valve endocarditis is rare. It is assumed that its rarity is due to the low pressure gradients within the right heart, the low prevalence of congenital malformations, the lower oxygen content of venous blood, and the differences in the... • 5. A Study On Common Cancer Treatments Essay BACKGROUND Common cancer treatments such as anthracyclines and trastuzumab are associated with an increased risk of cardiotoxicity, which is responsible for significant mortality and morbidity in cancer survivors.[1, 2] Assessment of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) has been, and continues to be the most widely used method for cardiotoxicity risk assessment prior to, surveillance during, and surveillance after administration of potentially cardiotoxic cancer treatment.[3] Since the 1970s,[4] multiple gated acquisition scanning (MUGA) has been the preferred imaging modality for baseline and serial assessment of LVEF for cardiotoxicity. There is concern that contemporary gamma cameras may not allow optimal patient positioning for LVEF assessments.[3] Thus, it is possible that contemporary MUGA in cancer patients may not provide accurate estimates of LVEFs. Inaccurate LVEF assessment may carry significant implications for the care of cancer patients receiving potentially cardiotoxic treatment since LVEFs play an important role in decisions to start, continue, hold or stop such treatment. The objective of this study was to compare the accuracy of LVEFs obtained by contemporary clinical MUGA in consecutive patients with cancer with reference LVEFs from cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR), the gold standard technique for assessment of left ventricular volumes and systolic function.[5] METHODS Patients and data collection The study sample consisted of ... • 6. School Prayer In School Thesis: The removal of school prayer was a bad thing for students morals. Prayer sets a standard for the students. Allowing prayer in school may improve a lot of things about the students at school. The behavior of students would change dramatically kids would not be mean to other students. Prayer is a action which proclaims that life is more than just saving an environment or accumulating wealth (Hovis 1). People might think that God is evil, our experiments with replacing affirmation of humanism has been a dismal failure. The only thing of evil is for good men to do nothing. Removing the school prayer sends a message to our children, when we allow laws to be passed which limit the free expression. The Federal and Supreme Court judges should be impeached who undermines the freedom which this country was founded. The situation has become so absurd that that congressional prayer cannot be voluntarily read in school buildings. The removal of school prayer was a bad thing for students morals. Mortality declines without prayer, prayer can shape a good citizen. With prayer students have something to gain, they can be more helpful with others and the peers around them. Since prayer was removed from school the violence has increased and grade have dropped. SAT s have dropped drastically. More kids have been birth out of wedlock. Increased in drug used and increased in juvenile crimes. Deterioration of school behavior also. People also have a choice to be faithful, most who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Pros And Cons Of Prison Reforms The article I chose was Inmates launch massive nationwide strike to protest modern slavery in US prison system by Feliks Garcia from The Independent. The main conclusion of the article was that 45 years after the Attica prison riot, many of the reforms demanded still exist today, and by inmates in about 40 prisons bonding together they wish to make a change. Within the article, the arguments presented as to why inmates are taking such measures is that besides the evident reason to end injustice, there now seems to be a larger possibility for reform. I choose this article because even if I may not have any direct connection to the U.S. prisonsystem, I wanted to know more on an issue that I had not known previously about. Regarding the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although I do agree certain reforms need to be made to improve the living conditions of prisoners, as I have stated, the arguments offered in this article were hindered by some instances. I feel that the first argument had strong and credible evidence to support it, but with more information provided it would have helped to inform a reader with no previous knowledge about the history of the issue. As for the second argument, this one would have been much stronger with the incorporation of hard data, such as the details of living conditions, and also if more than one side of the problem had been presented. However, I did find the article very enlightening due to the strength of being able to inform on the ongoing fight that little is heard about through specific examples. Moreover, I enjoyed reading it because if there is an issue of injustice, I believe something should be done, even if it does not pertain to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. How Successful Were The Suffragettes Were the Suffragettes Successful? The Suffragettes were formed by Emmeline Pankhurst in October of 1903 as the Women s Social and Political Union (WSPU) and were essentially a new organisation based on the National Union of Women s Suffrage Societies (NUWSS), whose members were known as Suffragists. The Suffragettes are famous, or rather infamous, for their use of violence. Their motto was, after all, Deeds not Words . Historians still argue today as to how successful they were in their own right, whether it was inevitable for women to get the vote, and, if so, how much of a contribution the Suffragettes really made. Many argue that it was womens effort in the First World War that made the most difference to women obtaining the vote in 1918, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Full electoral equality was not in place until the Representation of the People Act 1928. Both the Suffragettes and the Suffragists celebrated up and down the country; the Act had been achieved after tireless years of campaigning and four years of filling jobs left by men who went to war which, to most, undeniably helped to convince Parliament to greater effect than the extreme activities of the Suffragettes pre WW1. Many agree that the Suffragists efforts also played a very important role, including Joyce Marlow, women s history writer, who wrote in Votes for Women (2000); Some would argue including me that it was the moderates of the NUWSS, led by Millicent Fawcett, who actually won the vote. In 1912, while the militants embarked on arson and bombing, the NUWSS made a successful working alliance with the growing Labour Party. • 10. Comparing Love in Go Tell It on the Mountain, Giovanni s... Baldwin s first three novels Go Tell It on the Mountain, Giovanni s Room, and Another Country boil over with anger, prejudice, and hatred, yet the primary force his characters must contend with is love. Not meek or mawkish but ...something active, more like fire, like the wind (qtd. in O Neale 126), Baldwins notion of love can conquer the horrors of society and pave the way to emotional security (Kinnamon 5). His recipecalls for a determined identity, a confrontation with and acceptance of reality, and finally, an open, committed relationship. Though Baldwin s characters desperately need love, they fail to meetthese individual requirements, and the seeds of love they sow never take root and grow to fruition.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Baldwin points to his high school writing as an act of love. It was an attempt not to get the world s attention it was an attempt to be loved. It seemed a way to save myself and a way to save my family. It came out of despair (qtd. in Kinnamon 3). Baldwin believes in the redemptive power of love, the power to save. But first must come despair. All of Baldwin s characters suffer tremendously, for they live in modern society. Few love. Since suffering is universal but a love fulfilled is not, suffering alone does not allow one to love, ...but if dealt with courageously...can lead to self knowledge, self acceptance, and the forging of a genuine self identity (Nelson 122). With no internal conflicts, one can open up to another person, and love can flower. This process, however, is rarely completed. In Another Country a vivid portrait of the universal need for love is suggested by Rufus s interpretation of a saxophonist s improvisation. Rufus plays in a jazz combo with a young saxophonist who already ...had received the blow from which he never would recover (9): ...[S]omewhere along the line he had discovered that he could say it with a saxophone. He had a lot to say. He stood there, wide legged, humping the air, filling his barrel chest, shivering in the rags of his twenty odd years, and screaming through the horn Do you love me? Do you ... • 12. The Juvenile Justice System Essay 1.Name four problems that existed with the juvenile justice system in the early 19thcentury. The juvenile justice system was subject to a lot of corruption and civil rights violations in its early stages. Juveniles did not have the same rights as adults and could be forced into terrible living or working conditions. With no child labor laws, delinquent juveniles could be sentenced to forced labor in factories or to houses of refuge. With the ruling of Ex Parte Crouse, the state took ultimate responsibility of children and send them to these institutions, even against the will of the parents. Some of these institutions, such as houses of refuge may have started with good intention, but they ultimately led to rampart corruption and abuse of juveniles. 2.Which type of children and young people did Reform Schools focus on working with? Houses of Refuge were intended for which type of juveniles? Reform schools formed to take custody of wayward or incorrigible children that the state deemed necessary. A child could be taken from their parents and sent to a reform school if it is deemed that the parents are not providing a good enough home for them. Houses of refuge were designed to get juveniles out of the adult system. It was proven that locking up youths with criminals was a bad idea for multiple reasons, so houses of refuge were formed to separate them. They were designed for those juveniles that the state deemed savable, and those seen as to far gone would be sent to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Nature And Role Of Law In Democracy The nature and role of law is important to political theory because the use of law raises important questions about oppression versus liberation and morality. Law in a democracy in relation to the citizens that it governs should strive not to oppress, but rather to liberate and assist citizens when in conflict with higher officials or fellow citizens. Laws in a democracy should be held with the intent of safeguarding the public and promoting the common good. John Stuart Mill makes a valid point when he says: The only purpose for which power can rightfully be exercised over any member of a civilized community against his will is to prevent harm to others. In addition to this, there is a fine line between the law and morality, as not every citizen shares the same moral values. Law is able to be more finite, as it has a written set of rules that citizens should strive to follow. However, morality is more subjective, as it weighs the right and wrong in given situations. The rule of law simply states that the law should be the overarching guideline. The rule of law provides a framework that both citizens and government officials should follow. John Locke stated that the rule of law provided protection from every other member of society, as indeed they are from him. The rule of law allows for the right to life, liberty, and property so long as harm is not taken to other citizens. In addition, the rule of law protects individuals from the state and ensures that government is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The key messages conveyed by Foschi were that the company has a strict safety policy, all crew behaved according to evacuation procedures and that the poor judgment of Captain Schettino caused the incident. Many questions and allegations were brought up during the conference such as reports that the captain left the ship before all passengers and crew had been evacuated. Foschi responded by saying, We are unable to ascertain whether he left the ship before the conclusion of the evacuation. Some internal testimony indicates that he really tried to stay on board but we have to wait for the formal investigation. So, Foschi stated that the company had to wait for the conclusion of the formal investigation to comment any further on that allegation, yet they were quick to put all the blame on the captain to mitigate their own liability. Foschi said that the captain wanted to salute the island of Giglio by bringing the ship close to the shore. He did not follow the authorized route that was frequently used by Costa Ships and brought the ship about 150 metres from the island where it struck the rock, which was clearly marked on charts. Apparatus: Figure 1 depicts the cycle used in this experiment and its individual control volumes. The system uses water and refrigerant 134 a as the working fluids. The cycle operates between two different pressures, the high pressure of the condenser and the low pressure of the evaporator. The condenser is used to remove sufficient energy from the refrigerant to transform it completely into liquid. The evaporator is used to vaporize the refrigerant by adding energy supplied by the warm water. The throttling valve serves the purpose of reducing the pressure of the refrigerant resulting in isenthalpic expansion. The compressor supplies energy to the refrigerant, and under ideal conditions works in a quasistatic adiabatic manner. Figure 1: Schematic of Heat Pump Cycle Figure 2 depicts the Hylton Air and Water Heat Pump Systems used for this experiment. Viewing Figure 2, the incoming cold water splits into two separate lines. One line heads towards the evaporator and the other line heads towards the condenser. The flow rate of each line is measured as seen right after t5 for the condenser and t8 for the evaporator. It tested the first nuclear weapon in 1945 ( Trinity ), and remains the only country to have used nuclear weapons against an enemy state in warfare, devastating the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Horses and carriages were needed to transport a person from one place to another. Consequently, many people lived their entire lives without travelling much further than the outskirts of the village or town in which they were born. Since there was little travel, locations which had attracted enough people grew into large metropolitan cities where anything that a person needed could be obtained within a short distance from their front doors. The large cities attracted even more people because these then became the locations where the most profitable jobs could be found. Once employment was found, the person would move into the city and raise their family who would then contribute to the growth of the city. This is how things were until the automobile was invented. Few people who first encountered the machine could know that it would forever change the geographic and sociological makeup of the United States of America, but that is what it did. Trains had already been invented and people could travel from one side of the country to the other, but they could only go to the destinations which had railroad lines. Memory is easier to be recalled when this information is encoded. The encoding specificity is best understood by looking at the associations between contextual cues that were formed during the encoding and the information that needed to be encoded in the memory. Most encoding specificity is associated with cue recall of specific episodic memory(Wardell Read, 2013). Encoding specificity has cues that help associate it with the target that is being presented. In 2006, domestic consumption and exports of lead acid batteries, the main lead consuming industry, had increased by 20 per cent and 35 per cent, respectively over 2005 levels. On the supply side, capacity growth was constrained by a lack of high quality mines and limited smelter capacity. SZLN forecasted that this growth trend in the demand for lead and zinc products would continue and, thus, increased its annual capacity to 180,000 tons of lead zinc ore and 400,000 tons of metal products. Ice means to ice the injured area for ten minutes and then ten minutes off several times, and repeat this pattern three times a day; these numbers may change depending on your doctor. Compression helps diminish swelling of the injured area. Keep the injured area firmly compressed with a wrap or compression band and make sure it is not too tight because this will restrict blood flow and slow the healing process. The tightness of the compress should limit expansion and not cause severe compression. The knee should be elevated at least twice a day. Raise the injured area above the heart.
