Sexually Transmitted Infection
Public Health Problem
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) has been a persisting public health problem throughout the
world. While some STIs, like gonorrhea, are curable, other STIs like human papillomavirus
(HPV), have no cure and can lead to deadly consequences. Unfortunately, HPV is considered to be
the most common type of sexually transmitted infection. Like all STIs, HPV spread through sexual
contact with an infected person, whether it be vaginal, anal, or oral sex. According to the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention, there are about 79 million Americans infected with HPV at a
time and about 14 million new cases arise every year ( Human Papillomavirus (HPV) ). This means
that about one in four people are infected with some type ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Between 2007 and 2009, an HPV vaccine program was introduced in Australia. Three years after
the introduction, Brotheron, Fridman, May, Chappell, Saville, and Gertig (2011) examined how
these vaccines affected women s cervical health. It was found that after the vaccine program was
introduced, there was a lower number of reports of women having high grade cervical
abnormalities. While this was only the first report, it shows great promise that implementing a
program for the HPV vaccine will have a positive effect on women s health. The lower the
chances are for people to contract the HPV virus means that there s a lower chance that people will

Navy Seal Personal Narrative
July 13th 2015, I began a journey that changed entirety of myself for the better. I woke up that
morning in the hotel room I was assigned; I d been waiting and training for an entire year in
anticipation of that day. I was finally on my way to Great Lakes, Illinois to attend Naval
Bootcamp under contract to attend Basic Underwater Demolition/Seal Class 317 afterwards. I was
was only 19 but it felt as if I was coming straight out of high school. I d never lived anywhere else
other than with my mother in North Georgia, so leaving the state and starting a new life was a
little odd. I remember July 12th when I got in the recruiting recruiting station s van to take me to
the hotel. I was trying so hard to be strong, yet I couldn t stop myself from tearing up once my
mother was out of view. It was sad to leave her behind, but I was sure I had my life figured out...

The truth is, none of that matters. A Navy Seal is someone that does what they know needs to be
done regardless of how they feel, or how outside sources feel. Navy Seal is a mindset, a person
could put up the best run/swim times in the world but if they are not mentally prepared to wake
up every morning at 3am, put on wet clothing from the previous day, and go lay in the 50 degree
water surrounding Coronado before breakfast, then they aren t going to make it. Everyone
associates Navy Seals with guns, violence, and counter terrorism but that is just their niche.
Anyone that has a burning desire to chase what they want or believe is right, and will sacrifice
everything for it, is a Navy Seal. This new person the Navy has made out of me is one that s going
to give life a run for it s money. I am chasing my happiness everyday and no one will stop me. I
may not wear the Seal Trident on my chest, but I wear it on my

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Gps
INTRODUCTION
The Global Positioning System, commonly referred to as the GPS, is one of the greatest
innovations that truly revolutionized the way we function in the 21st century. It s a space based
satellite navigation system that uses 27 satellites and a wide range of networks of powerful
computers used to send signals down to earth. These signals carry a time code and geographical
data point that allows the user to pinpoint their exact position, speed and time anywhere on the
planet. Centuries ago, explorers used clues such as the position of the sun during the day as a
means of navigating but these left explorers helplessly lost.
2. THE ORIGIN OF THE GPS
The GPS is a very powerful tool that was originally invented by the United States Military as a
means of obtaining intelligence during the cold war in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The GPS technology is used widely in climate studies such as earthquake research and accurate
daily weather forecasts.
Corporate companies are using the GPS technology as a useful tool to monitor employee
productivity by keeping record of their clocking times , frequency and duration of lunch breaks.
Commercial airplanes and cargo ships have more accurate readings that help them avoid disasters
and ensures that they can be traced should they get lost at sea.
The commercialisation of the GPS technology has led to the development of hand held GPS
navigation devices that are used for recreational activities such as hiking and outdoor treasure
hunting.
4.2 Disadvantages
One of the greatest disadvantage of the GPS technology is that it relies completely on receiving
satellite signals, so it s prone to radio interference and nuclear weapons.
Another issue is accuracy in terms of updating the navigation system, for example, drivers using the
GPS navigation technology can find themselves stuck in traffic due to blocked

MMA Training Videos
A question we get very often on our forum is about MMA training videos. Our readers want to
know which is the best set of MMA training DVD s for them available, online or offline.
Unfortunately, this question is very hard to answer. I ll explain in a minute.
But first, let s have a quick look at what MMA is. MMA is short for Mixed Martial Arts. It s a
fighting sport with lots of fans and several shows like UFC, Bellator, M1 Global and Elite XC.
UFC has become so famous that it s even threatening boxing s supremacy in popularity rankings.
MMA fighters employ techniques, holds, grappling moves, submission techniques, kicks and
punches from a wide variety of martial arts and from Brazilian jiu jitsu (BJJ), Muay Thai and Krav
Maga (the Israeli Defense Force close quarters combat technique) amongst others. Maybe ... Show

Most training videos will focus on one or two styles max. So the right set of training DVD s for
you may not be the same as the one for the next guy. Additionally, some people need training videos
to start to train and ultimately start fighting in a ring. Others want to learn self defense techniques
from the Mixed Martial Arts training DVD s. Others are looking to pick up a few quick pointers
to help them out should they ever get into a street or bar fight, yet others look at it as a preferred
way of working out (subdivided in acquiring body weight and cardio exercise). A minority even
looks for them just to show off with their friends...
Then there are training DVD s and videos for beginners, for intermediary fighters and a few that
teach advanced techniques. This is very important! Trying advanced techniques as a beginner
might cause serious injuries to yourself or your sparring partner. Some of the advanced techniques
can cause death when executed in the wrong way or with excessive force. We recommend that you
try or train any new technique always are very slow speed

Oak Park Township s Potential Trend Equation
1 Introduction This report presents projections of Oak Park Township s population for the year
2030. These projections were done by three methods such as the following: allocation, trend
extrapolation, and cohort component. These projected processes and results can be elaborated by
methods in the following sections. 2 Population Projection Methods 2.1 Allocation Allocation, this
method uses larger region s population or projections and percentage of population of a smaller
area in the larger region to estimate smaller area s population. Oak Park Township is located in
Cook County, so the first step is to obtain the most recent population of Cook County and Oak Park
Township and the projected population of Cook County in 2030. According to... Show more content

Then, using the population of each five year cohort in 2000, we projected the population
excluding migration in 2010. Comparing the census and projected population in 2010, the10 year
migration rates were estimated. So, with the migration rates, the migration of 2030 could be
projected. Due to the projected births, deaths and migration in 2030, the projected population of
Oak park Township in 2030 was shown in following Table 4. Comparatively speaking, the
allocation and trend extrapolation methods require less data and simply assume current
distributions and the trend will continue. However, the cohort component method relies on more
data and assumptions than the others. It can be rationally projected. That is to say, if obtaining
the data and assumptions is not difficult, the cohort component could provide a reliable
projection. 3 Conclusion The results of the projected population of Oak Park Township in 2030
by different methods were distinctly shown in Table 6. These projections have quite a bit of
difference. According to the above comparison of three methods, the cohort component should be
the reliable one. In conclusion, the population of Oak Park Township is likely to see a reduction,
compared with 2010. The population is projected from 51,878 to 45,187, a decrease of 6,691 or 12.9

Reflection On My Writing Course At The University Of Dubuque
In my opinion my writing ability before I arrived in this course at the University of Dubuque was
fair, it wasn t outstanding, but it wasn t horrible. My biggest obstacles I faced in this course was
coming up with a good topic to write about. Coming up with a topic you care about and can
expand on your ideas can be a challenge. When learningto write in a more cohesive manner, I think
the chapters we took notes on were very beneficial to improving my writing. It showed me the
proper way to write a thesis and how to compose my papers. I also believe practicing our writing
by journaling helped me learn to write what is going through my mind and it helped me to just

The Legal Concepts Of An Offer Essay
a)Common Law Offer The Legal Concepts of an Offer An offer is a conditional promise made
by the offeror to the offeree. The offeror will not be bound by her or his promise unless the
offeree responds to it in the manner sought by the offeror. That is why it is said the offer is
conditional. In the other word, the definition of an offer is a statement made by an offeror that he
or she is prepared to be bound to a contractual position the first essential element to the meeting of
the minds of the contracting parties. The Requirement of an Offer 1)Present intention to contract
The language used in an offer should present a commitment or undertaking. 2)Definiteness An offer
should be definite and should be made under such circumstances that the person receiving the offer
has reason to believe that the offeror is willing to deal on the terms indicated. 3)Proper Party
Involving two parties: the offeror and offeree. An offer creates in someone the power to accept,
therefore, the communication must sufficiently identify the offeree or the class from whom the
offeree may emerge. b)Common Law Acceptance The Legal Concepts of an Acceptance An
acceptance is a statement by one party (offeree) that he or she is willing/ prepared to be bound by
the terms of the offer, the second essential element to the meeting of the minds of the contracting
party. The Requirement of an Acceptance In acceptance, there must be a clear indication of intent

Theme Of Ethics In Erin Brockovich
The movie, Erin Brockovich, is based on a true story revolves around a file clerk named, Erin
Brockovich, who represented the community of Hinkley against the electric corporation Pacific
Gas and Electric Company, PG E. PG E faced disputes of ethical dilemmas and groundwater
contamination lawsuits after Erin uncovered and exposed its unethical business practices. PG E
operated a compressor plant in Hinkleyand hexavalent chromium, which could cause severe
medical issues, was used to cool down the machines used at the plants to prevent corrosion in the
machinery. The company failed to take the step of adding liner to the ponds at their plant, which
led to groundwater pollution that affected the water near the compressor plant. PG E was involved
in more unethical behaviors followed by this initial breach of ethics, such as deception, bribery, and
cover up evidence of chromiumuse.
As Erin spent time filing documents as a clerk, she came across a case against PG E that her law
firm handled on behalf of the residents of Hinkley. Erin went to Hinkley to investigate the

Bathsheba s Choice in †Far from the Maddening Crowd’
Essay
Bathsheba s Choice in Far from the Maddening Crowd. Set in the 1840 s, the novel tells the story
of Bathsheba Everdene and the three men who feature in her life.
Gabriel Oak is the one of the most central figures in the novel. He is an expert shepherd and a
farmer and is a man of simple values, who earns an honest living, and is in harmony with nature.
His love for Bathsheba is honest, unromantic, and above all, steadfast and patient. Gabriel is
unselfish, resourceful, and is able to withstand misfortune in all areas of his life. He is also the
counterweight to all the other major characters in the story. Mr Boldwood is a well respected, local
gentleman farmer. He has dignity and is depicted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in later chapters she shows herself to be capable, brave and self reliant, struggling
against multiplying disasters, which have their origins in her earlier immaturity. Her deficiency in
maturity leads her into two disastrous relationships, namely with Mr Boldwood and with Troy.
The author makes it clear that Bathsheba s character includes both fine feelings and faults. By the
end of the novel she reveals an inner strength by being able to endure Troy and Fanny being
buried together, and she recognizes her need for the love of Gabriel, who has remained loyal and
steadfast.
Bathsheba recieves her first proposal of marriage from Gabriel Oak. Gabriel offers Bathsheba,
security, wealth, happiness, social status and most importantly love. I have a nice snug little
farm and You shall have a piano now and I ll practice up the flute right well to play with you in
the evenings. However, despite all of Gabriel s good qualities, Bathsheba rejects his offer of
marriage, because of several reasons. A major factor for Bathsheba rejecting Gabriel is that she
does not love him: I don t love you a bit. Bathsheba desires an exciting relationship where she is
courted and seduced by the opposing sex. She wants to be in a romantic, passionate and loving
relationship, where her partner charms her. Bathsheba feels that Gabriel cannot offer this type of
relationship

The Importance Of A Good Life
As a young adult, it is really difficult to define what a good life is. A Good life it s an expression
that is interpreted differently by every individual. However, my humanities class helped me
clarify my thoughts about how the term good life could be defined. A good life is living with
ambition and creating new experiences with the ones you love the most. For me, a good life not
only consist of me reaching my goals but it also lies on helping the people around me to reach
their goals. Having the right values and priorities complement a gratifying life. During this
journey, I have learned that analyzing several situations can lead to a great way of associating
ideas and understanding certain events that take place in my life. Medicine is a very rigorous
field of study, therefore I must hold the concept of a good life in order to achieve my goals and
keep my priorities in the right order. Humanities has been a great base for me to develop the right
mindset to pursue my career. For instance, the modules: The True Purpose of a Liberal Education,
Morality and Ethics, Happiness, Nature, and Life Affirmation, were the ones that made the most
significant impact on my perspective in life. In today s society, people are becoming accustomed to
following the popular beliefs instead of thinking in depth and forming their own opinions. In some
cases, it is evident that some individuals deviate away from the obvious which leads them to
become unconsciously ignorant. In

Statistical Control Charts Essay
Introduction and History of Statistical Process Control Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a
method of controlling the quality of a manufacturing process and is most often affiliated with
control charts. However, SPC in reality is a group of tools and includes additional statistical and
evaluation/measurement methods. Smith, Megahed, Jones‐Farmer and Clark defined seven
basic tools of SPC including; histograms, check sheets, Pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams,
defect concentration diagrams, scatter diagrams and of course the aforementioned control charts
(2014). These tools represent the scope and overall purpose/pursuit of SPC which is; any
statistical method designed to detect changes in a process over time (Woodall Montgomery, 1999,
p. 377). Since control charts is often the most discussed of these seven tools; it is important to note
there are many different types of control charts. The main control charts include; process charts
which are R charts and s charts, non conforming item charts also known as p charts and np charts
and finally average numbers of non conformity charts or c charts and u charts (Woodall
Montgomery, 1999).
Statistical Process Control experienced its most significant growth and expansion during the quality
revolution in the 1980 s (Woodall Montgomery, 1999). It was during this time period that the focal
point of quality changed from being merely acceptance or customer defined quality criteria to
actual process control (Woodall

Innate And The Immune System
In this essay the link between the two different parts of the immune system should be explained.
The immune system consists of the innate immune system on the one hand and the adaptive
immune system on the other. The innate system reacts fast and protects the body through barriers
or special cells, but the specificity of this system is very low. Contrary to the innate system acts
the adaptive system. It is needed if the innate system fails and therefore takes more time to get
activated, but its specificity is very high. This essay should describe, how these two systems work
together and how they are linked up to each other.
The immune system consists of two parts, the innate and the adaptive part. The biggest difference
is, that the adaptive immune system is very specific for certain pathogens, and it has the ability to
remember. That means, that the adaptive immune system gets better after each infection with the
same pathogen. (Roitt, et al., 1996)
The first contact from a pathogen with the body is always with the innate immune system. It is here
to prevent the body from an infection through pathogens and it forms the first defense line. The
innate immune system consists of physical barriers like the skin, proteins like the complement and
certain cells, primarily leucocytes. The two main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Although India is a developing country, in the last few years due to economic crises, the country
has been facing numerous challenges. Despite the situation, very recently it has been
acknowledged that the Indian market has seen as increase in the demand for luxury items
specially Luxury Cars. Another fact to be considered is that the demand of such cars is not only

One of the most significant barriers comprises the brand equityenjoyed by most established brands.
The repute of the brand is extremely important to customers; luxury brands such as Jaguar,
Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi have a long and magnificent history to boast about, and the
companies work hard to preserve the association between them and other symbols of individuality
and of top notch quality and performance.
Although several Asian companies have developed new luxury brands to compete with the
traditional European and American brands, it is extremely difficult for challengers to match the
prestige of brands with years of history.
Another challenging barrier to entry is the huge initial investment required to enter car markets in
general. Large amounts of capital are required to set up manufacturing facilities and invest in R
D, among other large expenses. This also creates large sunk costs and makes it hard to achieve
economies of scale. The capital requirements are one of the main reasons why new luxury brands
have been produced by companies which were already present in the market as large car
manufacturers (Toyota s Lexus and Nissan s Infiniti) and not by new, free standing,

The Pros And Cons Of Human Trafficking
After attending a 3 day training on commercial sexual exploitation of children conducted by the
Girls educational and mentoring services (GEMS), I discussed the issue with my friend, an ER
physician. I mentioned that after the workshop, every troubled child seemed like a trafficked
child to me, and that I was obviously just being paranoid. Not exactly, she replied. I myself have
observed quite a few girls whom I suspected to be human traffickingvictims while I was at the ER.
When I asked her about the protocol ER officials followed when they suspected trafficking, she
replied Nothing! We treat them for superficial wounds or injuries like any other patient and send
them home. We have neither the time or the training to deal with that situation, heart wrenching as
it may be. Human trafficking is a pressing human rights and public healthissue of our time.
According to the Department of homeland security, Human trafficking is modern day slavery and
involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act
(Homeland Security, 2017).
There are hundreds of thousands of trafficking victims in the US. 8042 cases of human trafficking
were reported to the National Human Trafficking hotline in the US in 2016, a 35% increase over
the previous year (Polaris, 2017). It is shameful how many cases go unnoticed and how many
opportunities are lost due to lack of training of healthcare personnel and first responders. The most

As long as we stay in these conditions we will keep on begging him and he will control us. (page

Eleanor B. Leacock
Within anthropology there are two main schools of thought. These different views shape the
philosophies of anthropologist who are classified as materialist, idealist, or falling in between. The
materialist approach focuses on positivistic knowledge and empirical truths. Materialists use
science and material elements within society to explain the basis for human culture and life; they
consider anthropology one of the sciences. On the other hand, idealists consider anthropology one
of the humanities. Idealists view culture and behavior as a pattern of interpretation of beliefs and

Leacock s approach to anthropology stemmed from materialist theories, but her ethnographical
works were a detailed mix, which focused on historical processes. In Women s Status in Egalitarian
Society: Implications for Social Revolution, She argues that ethnographies presented on the topic
were misguided due to their ahistorical approach, ethnocentric perspectives concerning social
economic notions attributed to Western societies, and the oversight of the effects of capitalism.
Leacock claims taking a historical approach when analyzing women s status in egalitarian band
societies will lead to a less oppressed view of women s standing. She rejects the idea that women
s roles are submissive and subservient to men, pointing out they are assumptions that ...both derive
from and perpetuate a view of such society as merely an incipient form of our own (Moore, 2009,
p.246). Leacock points to the lack of evidence in research stating that, Women are commonly stated
or implied to hold low status in one or another society without benefit of empirical documentation
(Moore, 2009, p.247). Another major fault she uncovers is in the contradictory findings within
Ruth Landes Objiwai Women ; women of the same society are initially portrayed to be self
sufficient and independent , but later are described as inferior to men, unskilled, and dependent on
men. In this piece Leacock concludes that ahistorical approaches do not correctly describe women s
status in egalitarian

The Evolutionary Process Of Pollination Of Flowers
Tropical rainforests are a curious world filled with wonder. Tropical Nature: Life and Death in the
Rain Forests of Central and South America has opened my eyes to another world that I had not
paid much attention to. Adrian Forsyth and Ken Miyata introduced a new world of wonder filled
with so much diversity. Ecology and evolution go hand and hand, and the rainforesta beautiful
ecosystem driven by the climate [biome] is a phenomenal example as hot spot for evolution. From
the humidity, the high temperatures, the canopy of the trees, and so much more. Diversity thrives
in this environment, and it s obvious from the variety of species that have been found inhabiting
such areas. Organisms depend on their communities, they depend on the interspecific relationships
they develop; from predation (herbivory, carnivores, etc.), mutualism, parasitism, and
commensalism. Without each other, they could not survive, and in some cases they even evolve
with one another. The evolutionary process of pollination of flowers provides some examples of
this. Tropical plants are dioecious, which translates to having separate male and female plants.
Tropical plants cannot rely on the traditional wind pollination method due to the lack of wind and
lack of targets nearby; therefore, they cannot pollinate themselves or plants of the same sex. Instead,
they often look towards the mobile organisms that surround them. To do this, they ve evolved ways
to attract them; either provide them with a

Essay on The Ford Pinto Case
Business Case (The Ford Pinto)
There was strong competition for Ford in the American small car market from Volkswagen and
several Japanese companies in the 1960 s. To fight the competition, Ford rushed its newest car the
Pinto into production in much less time than is usually required to develop a car. The regular time
to produce an automobile is 43 months but Ford took 25 months only (Satchi, L., 2005). Although
Ford had access to a new design which would decrease the possibility of the Ford Pinto from
exploding, the company chose not to implement the design, which would have cost $11 per car,
even though it had done an analysis showing that the new design would result in 180 less deaths.
The company defended itself on the grounds that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ford did not approach the question of redesigning the gas tank to make the car safer versus waiting
another year allowing the foreign market to dominate subcompact vehicles. Their goal was only to
maximize profits. They did not into account the interests of their share holders and when they did
come into consideration, they were analyzed against profits. One has nothing to do with the other.
Their goal should not have been a race to make the most affordable subcompact car. Their focus
should have been to make a subcompact car that was not only most affordable but also the safest
subcompact. They were aware of the dangers associated with the rush production. It would have
made a difference if the $11 savings had been passed on to the customers because they would ve
kept their reputation and integrity in tact and possibly gain customers who were not considering
the vehicle. Any rational customer would not have chosen to save $11 to drive a car at the risk of
dying. It is never appropriate to knowingly jeopardize people s lives. That is a criminal act. Their
actions were socially irresponsible, ethically and morally wrong. They did not consider their own
reputation nor did they consider that they represented America in the industry.
As a financial manager at Ford, I am obligated to protect, enhance and promote the profits of the
organization and the decisions I make will reflect my social responsibility. First, I would

Affluenza, The Truman Show
In everyday life you are exposed to media. The media uses techniques such as: propaganda, product
placement, and facts to alter how you view a certain thing. You may not realize how the media
twist and turns such little details to change your perception. My personal view on many things were
changed in time as little as a week. We watched Affluenza, The Truman Show, and many
documentary s that showed how the mediacan change how you think. One technique that many
Medias use is advertisement. They use advertisement to get you to buy whatever they are trying to
sell. Most advertisements use statistics that are realistic, scare tactics, product placement, and
some even show bias toward another. In the Truman Show, Truman s wife was advertising coco
and a knife. She kept repeating that, that was what Truman drank and used to cook with. She made
sure the label was facing forward when she was talking about it, this is an example of product
placement. This technique of using advertisement was to pull the viewers watching the show to go
out and buy the items. They may also squeeze in sponsors that you may not even realize. For
example in the movie elf Coca Cola was hidden throughout the movie, but was never talked about
generally. It catches many eyes and promotes the product itself without having to even mention it....

cool if you don t have it. This technique causes many people to go and buy the new item because

Code Napoleon  and “Declaration of the Rights of Man”...
Code Napoleon and Declaration of the Rights of Man Comparison
The longest lasting effect of Napoleon Bonaparte s rule over France was his overseeing the
implementation of a series of national laws collectively known as the Civil Code, or Code
Napoleon. Code Napoleon was the successor to the idea s stated in The Declaration of the Rights
of Man and Citizen, While at first, Napoleon generally adhered to the philosophies of the French
Revolutionist as created in The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen, as time progressed,
his absolute power allowed for corruption at the expense of the French people. Napoleon violated
almost every principle in the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen in order to benefit his

This went directly against the Declaration of Rights law that stated The free communication of
ideas and opinions is one of the most precious of the rights of man. Every citizen may,
accordingly, speak, write, and print with freedom, but shall be responsible for such abuses of this
freedom as shall be defined by law He also helped relations achieve positions of power in Europe,
ignoring the principles of the meritocracy which he had earlier instilled.
Possibly the most important article of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen is the first
one, which summarizes all the other articles by demanding equal rights for all citizens. The cry for
equal rights was one of the major demands the Third Estate wanted from the monarchy even at the
beginning of the French Revolution. Early in Napoleons campaign he stated that he supported the
equality of citizens in France, but in 1802 he created the Legion of Honor, a new status in society
which granted members special privileges. The legion was a superior group, similar to nobility,
but Napoleon of course never called it that because he wanted to convince the general public that
the idea of equality was still relevant. The Declaration of the Rights of Man stated that Men are
born and remain free and equal in rights and that social distinctions may be founded only upon the
general good. In this instance Napoleonic Code both lives up to the ideals of, and also fails to live
up to the ideals of its predecessors

Blood Count Literature Review
REVIEW ON IMAGE PROCESSING USED IN HAEMOTOLOGY
Abstract In medical analysis blood cell count plays vital role. Variations in the count of blood cells
cause many diseases in the human body. For overall health assessment and diagnosis of many
disorders complete blood count is required. Abnormal increase or decrease in cell count indicates
that person has indispensable medical condition. The Complete Blood Count (CBC) is a blood test,
extensively used to check various disorders such as infections, allergies, problems with clotting,
anaemia, leukaemia etc. In order to perform CBC test, the blood film is stained and then imaged
with a transmission light microscope. Here the analysis of the blood sample is done manually in
order to count number of blood cells and also to identify disorders in blood samples through a
microscope. But it is a time consuming process and also leads to undesirable human error. In
essence, the goal of this review paper is to find out and validate the necessary image processing
steps and different methods and algorithms used to count blood cells on blood smear slides. This
paper aims to provide: mitigate problems posed by different conditions such as noisy and
degraded images; detect the overlapping cells; to differentiate RBCs ,WBCs and also platelets
which are present in a blood smear slide counting RBCs and WBCs and even platelets and also to
detect the disease related to blood.

Daniel Hale Williams You may have heard of Rosa Parks or Martin Luther king Jr, but.have you
ever heard of Daniel Hale Williams? He helped take a stand in history like like many before him
by going against expectations of the time. Daniel Hale Williams was a forerunner to the civil
rights movement by going to school and getting a education, opening an interracial hospital, and
performing the first successful heart surgery. Daniel H. Williams took a stand by going to college
to get a good education in a time where colored people had very few options for schooling. Daniel

At that time no hospital training program in Chicago would accept African Americans. Since no
one would accept african americans, it was hard for blacks to get good training , be sufficient
doctors, and give good treatment; so Daniel decided that he wanted to change that(Gale).
Williams went to various organizations and churches on the west and south sides to sell the idea
of such a hospital. This was a feat to big for one person on his own to do, so he went to get help to
fund the new hospital. In 1891 Provident Hospital and Training School Association opened as the
first interracial hospital in the United States. To help accomplish this, funds were raised through
all kinds of efforts, such as bake sales and ice cream sales. Individuals furnished the hospital with
items from their homes, and because of the new hospital both colors could work together, get
equal help, and training which was a big success back then(Sons). Daniel continued to take a stand
and prove he could be a good doctor by performing the first successful open heart

The Protests Of The Syrian Uprising Essay
Security forces opened fire, killing at least four protesters and within days, the protests grew into
rallies that gathered thousands of people. The killings of these four were ultimately regarded by
many as the first deaths of the Syrian uprising. The community s blunt outrage over the children s
arrests and mistreatment, the government s humiliating and violent reactions to their worries and
the people s refusal to be cowed by security forces embolden and helped spread the Syrian
opposition. This notion demonstrates that the killing of the four protestors was only the first of
many deaths to occur continuing into an on going war that has: ...triggered nationwide protests
demanding President Assad s resignation. Because of this, the Syrian government decided that in
order to handle the issue they must crush this nationwide dissent. This in return only allowed the
protestors to push harder for a change within the country of Syria, in hopes of it becoming the
wonderful country that it was in the years prior to the war. Syria s conflict has devolved from
peaceful protests against the government in 2011 to a violent insurgency that has drawn in
numerous other countries. With neither side able to inflict a decisive defeat on the other, the
international community long ago concluded that only a political solution could end the conflict in
Syria. It is because of the similar actions that took place within the Palestinian Israeli conflict that

Examples Of Guilt Quotes In Macbeth
Guilty or Not?
Halloween stores fill with masks covered in blood dripping down their faces to scare children.
Blood never seems to be a positive symbol. In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Lady
Macbeth s bloody hands are used to show that she is guilty of what she s done. Once she cleans
her hands, she believes she is pure again. Whether Lady Macbeth thinks she can be pure again or
not, she never will be. She will be going to Hell. She s committed a crime that cannot be repented.
Blood can play a guilt trip on anyone, they kill and will never be forgiven after their action.
In this play, blood is taken very seriously. After the first murder scene, when Macbeth stabs King
Duncan in his sleep, he begins to feel a large amount of guilt from the murder. A great example of
this would be in the quote by Macbeth, With all great Neptune s ocean wash this blood clean from
my hand? No, this my hand will rather the multitudinous seas incarnadine, making the green one
red (Shakespeare,II.ii.79 81 ), at this point, blood is looked at as mostly by guilt. What Macbeth is

Lady Macbeth dies Macbeth feels no emotion and explains how it was going to happen one day

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disorder of the central nervous system
(CNS) and is the most common causes of nontraumatic disability among young and middle aged

Multiple Sclerosis is considered an autoimmune disease in which the body s immune system attacks
its own tissues. [1] In the case of MS, this immune system malfunction destroys myelin (the fatty
substance that coats and protects nerve fibers in the brain. [1] It isn t clear why MS develops in
some people and not others. Researchers believe that a combination of genetics and environmental
factors appears to be responsible.
These risk factors may increase your risk of developing Multiple Sclerosis.[1]
Sex. Women are about twice as likely as men are to develop MS[1]
Family history. If one of your parents or siblings has had MS, you are at higher risk of developing
the disease.[1]
[Certain infections. A variety of viruses have been linked to MS, including Epstein Barr, the virus
that causes infectious mononucleosis. [1]
Race. White people, particularly those of Northern European descent, are at highest risk of
developing MS. People of Asian, African or Native American descent have the lowest risk. [1]
Climate. MS is far more common in countries with temperate climates, including Canada, the

The Guide For The Perplexed
The Guide for the Perplexed is in a separate category different from the purely religious original
commentary in the Mishneh Torah. It is highly regarded as a major philosophical text in truth,
however it will be better and more correct to call it a theological treatise. It seeks to reconcile the
Jewish faith and religion with the challenges against it from philosophic and scientific texts at the
time, specifically the system of Aristotle and his followers. A great deal of its contents overlap with
much of the Commentary and the Mishneh Torah. As in Maimonidesother works, he provides a

that have different meanings in different contexts. All the terms have both literal and figurative
meanings, which are subject to the context. These semantic subtleties lead many to misunderstand
the text thus confusing and perplexing them and contrasting these misconceptions with the realities
of the philosophical or scientific truth. Truth cannot conflict with itself, as the toner the word of
God is absolutely true and the conclusion of sound reason must also be true, any conflict between

the Torah text or a misunderstanding of the philosophical and scientific premises or even both.
Maimonides sets out to clarify many of the ambiguous terms and expressions in the Torah texts. It
goes without saying that Maimonides would be considered a theologian, due to the fact that he is

The ultimate aim of his Guide was to clarify the passages and provide a proper understanding of the

Significance Of Magna Charta
Magna Charta is a Great Charter agreed by King John of England in 1215. It was an important
symbol of political freedom. Charter became a part of English political life but after English
Parliament passed new laws, it lost its significance. After hundreds years Magna Carta was used
by Parliament to protect itself from a powerful king. It gave no real freedom to the majority of
people in England. Magna Charta was a peace treaty between the King and the rebel barons. The
nobles wrote it and forced King John to sign it. They wanted to be sure that John didn t go beyond

Venous Thrombosis
Venous thrombosis is a multifactorial disease. In the majority of thrombosis patients a risk factor is
not detectable. Virchow s triad refers to three primary influences for thrombus formation,
endothelial injury, stasis, turbulence or abnormal blood flow, and blood hypercoagulability (Kyrle,
2009). A shift in balance between procoagulant and anticoagulant of the endothelium is responsible
for thrombotic state (Kyrle, 2009). Endothelial injury is the physical loss of endothelium leading to
exposure of subendothelial extra cellular matrix, adhesion of platelets, release of tissue factor,
depletion of PGI2 and plasminogen activators (Kumar, 2010). Abnormal bloodflow refers to
turbulence that causes endothelial injury, which is a major influence... Show more content on

After completing the calculation in Step 5, I can now compare it to Step 1 and see what the
difference is. This will give me my negotiating range that I can use when making my offer. If the
amount in Step 1 is higher than Step 5, I may be able to secure an offer by bidding a higher price
than the seller is offering. If the amount in Step 1 is lower than Step 5, I ll need to focus on
bringing the final price down to a more affordable range.
Calculating reservation price is an important part of the home buying process and can help me

Schizophrenia Is A Heterogeneous Illness
Schizophrenia is a heterogeneous illness that may involve several pathophysiological gender
differences. For men and women incidence risk peaks between 20 29 years of age, and women
also have a second risk peak between 30 39 years of age. Negative symptoms including low
motivation and withdrawal are more frequent in men and appear up to six years before diagnosis
(Hafner, 2005; Hafner et al., 1993; Morgan et al., 2008). Women exhibit greater levels of
depression and positive symptoms including sexual inappropriateness, impulsivity and delusions
(Mendrek et al., 2015; Van der Werf et al., 2014). Sex
differences in either age of onset or
prevalence of negative symptoms are not as evident in patients that have a family history of
schizophrenia (Bergen et al., 2014; Hafner et al., 1998).
Estrogen has been proposed to have a possible protective role that may account for a later age of
disease onset in women, when levels are lowest during post response rates to antipsychotic drugs
are also higher in women menopause (Allen et al., 2013; Hafner, 2005; Leung M.D. Chue M. R.

increased risk of developing schizophrenia, an earlier age of disease onset, poorer outcomes and

females. (Allen et al., 2013; Dalman et al., 1999; Kelly et al., 2004). Prenatal exposure to influenza

good to celebrate. It s like icing on the cake. I surely wasn t let down with the masseuse they sent.
I go to answer the door, and let her in. She told me her name was Lin. Her English is surprisingly
superb. She has an amazing voice. Her hair is pinned up in a bun like do, with a few strands
hanging down around her ears. It shows off her slender neck, and her beautiful face. With her is
a man with large muscles who carries a massage table. He sets it up for her then leaves. Lin has
me undress and covers my buttocks with a towel and gets started. Luckily, Lin turned away, so she
would not have to see anything. Plus, I didn t have to show... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

And fried rice? Yes please. I smile at her. Lin called the desk and ordered for me. When the food
got there, Lin told me that I should tip the guy who brought the food and how much. Once that
was done, Lin told me that she had to go. Wanna join me? I try again, I m not sure why. She
already said no, there s no reason at all for me to think that this time she will be able to stay.
There is plenty of food here, waving my hand out to show her that yes, in fact there was enough
food for both of us to enjoy. Ok. This is a surprise to me. I hope she doesn t feel forced to say yes.
Cool, pull up a chair. I say. I wheel the cart with the food over to a table in the corner of the room.
She stays for about an hour and we chow down on some of the food. I do most of the chowing,
Lin mostly takes small bites and let s me eat. We talk about movies and books. She tells me
about her over bearing mother. I tell her mostly about my lack of relationship with both of my
parents. I look at my watch at one point, and I m surprised to see she s been here for about three
and a half hours. Surprise shows on my face because Lin says

Latter Day Saints
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints With this paper we are going to look at The church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints. They are more commonly known as Mormons or just LDS. We are
going to learn about what Mormons view of beliefs of creation and death. At the end of the paper
we will look at how Mormonism compares to my current religions views. However, we need to
understand how Mormonism started and some of the main beliefs they currently hold. Mormonism
was founded by Joseph Smith in the mid 19th century Northeast United States. The largest Mormon
religious body is the Church of JesusChrist of Latter Day Saints (LDS for short) (Mormonism

But what I have found is that, while I do occasionally go to an Assembly of God Church which
is Christian based. What sticks out to me though in doing the research in dealing with death, that
can also help me move forward and find that connection with God and the mourning for my
father. Mourning not only is appropriate; it is also one of the deepest expressions of pure
love:..... Mourning can heighten our faith and our hopes. The Prophet Joseph Smith said, The
expectation of seeing my friends in the morning of the resurrection cheers my soul and makes me
bear up against the evils of life. It is like their taking a long journey, and on their return we meet
them with increased joy (Gillespie, K. L. (2011, May 27).) This to me is the biggest difference
from my understanding of my religion. I have always felt that as long as I said I believed in God
and was typically a good person, I would go to heaven and meet up with my family. However,
for Mormonism, it is not as simple. You have to dedicate your life to God, and to your family.
That is the reason why going on these missionaries are so important to them. You are giving back
to others that are in need and are working to spread the knowledge from the gospel not only about
creation and how to deal with death, but everything in between. While not specifically pertaining to
death and

Bringing Light
December 12, 2014
Abstract: This experiment was conducted to determine if the light of a glow stick can be affected
by the temperature of water. In this the researcher will try to find what temperature of water
makes a glow stick glow brighter and how long it will stay lit. By proceeding in the experiment,
the data collected proved the hypothesis to be correct. Warmer water caused the glow stick to glow
brighter than it had before. On the other hand, the beaker with colder water made the stick stay lit
longer and the room temperature water didn t affect the glow stick as much. Glow sticks are
popular products that are used for fun and entertainment. Everyone knows what they are. But we
really don t know what they are. Glow sticks are plastic tubes with a glass vial inside. When ...

When the temperature changes so does the results. The blue stick, hot water, stayed lit for 112
minutes (an hour and fifty two minutes). The green stick, which was room temperature water,
stayed lit for 96 minutes (an hour and thirty six minutes). And lastly, the pink stick, in cold water,
stayed lit the longest for 122 minutes (two hours and two minutes).
The experiment could have had better results if done with multiple glow sticks. Make sure that the
thermometer is correct in the measurement of the water s temperature. It is important that you get
your data correct.
Conclusion
In the experiment, it was discovered that glow sticks will show more light and glow brighter in
water with higher temperatures than lower or room temperature. The experiment proved that the
hypothesis was correct in saying that warmer temperatures would make a glow stick glow brighter.
Though the hot water made the glow stick brighter and dim faster, the cold water caused the stick
to glow longer, and the room temperature water didn t affect the green glow stick in any significant

Microsoft s Strategic Commitment For The Cloud With...

Since its inception, SharePoint has become a Swiss Army knife that covers a wide range of
information needs and has been deployed for many different functional requirements. Many
companies have customized it, whether in its look and feel, building custom integration with
external systems or developing new applications. Furthermore, companies have grown to depend
on third party independent software vendors (ISVs) to fill SharePoint s gaps or build vertical
applications onto SharePoint server. While such moves have typically delivered good business
benefits, they have made migrating from one generation to the next costly and complex. Industry

Microsoft has the potential to innovate in this cloud environment because it can use analytics to
quickly understand business usage trends across thousands of organizations a level of visibility it
did not have in the traditional approach. It can then rapidly develop applications and approaches as
well as test and deploy new interfaces. Users will realize the benefits of this rapid innovation as
their work environments become more nimble, leading to stronger engagement; IT departments
will realize the benefits of having Microsoft manage this aspect of their technology portfolio,
allowing them to concentrate on other projects.
Business drivers and cost management: SharePoint Online doesn t take long to set up and users
can perform basic tasks quickly. Microsoft trickles improvements through every three months. For

Rhetorical Strategies In Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address
In his second Inaugural Address, given one month before the end of the Civil War, United States
President Abraham Lincoln used rhetorical strategies to achieve his purpose. Rhetorical strategies
are strategies in which something is stated and doesn t expect a comment or response to it. Lincoln
used rhetorical strategies in his second inaugural address to prove to his audience, that since this is
the second time around, he knows what he needs to do, for himself as the President of the United
Statesand for our nation itself.
President Abraham Lincoln s use of rhetorical strategies reveals that he is confident in what he is
going to say and do: Then a statement somewhat in detail of a course to be pursued seemed
fitting and proper. His use of rhetorical strategies also reveals the fact that he knows that our
nation is intelligent and strong enough to work alongside him to change our nation for the better:
The progress of our arms, upon which all else chiefly depends, is as well known to the public as to
myself, and it is, I trust, reasonably satisfactory and encouraging to all. With high hope for the

were other means of destroying the city: While the inaugural address was being delivered from

Communication Styles Between Men And Women
Today, divorce has become an extremely common and a better understanding on how to maintain a
healthy and happy marriage is critical. Unsuccessful communication plays a vital role in the failure
of many marriages and relationships. Communication is key in all relationships and can lead to the
success or failure of a marriage, depending on how the couple interacts. This effectiveness of
communication is connected to the overall satisfaction of married couples. Learning more about
the differences in communication styles between men and women will aid in the successful
sending and receiving of messages, both verbal and nonverbal. For example, a woman might
communicate in a way that has significant meaning to her. Though, the man receiving the message
may translate it differently than the way she intended. The misunderstanding is because of the
difference in communication style between the husbandand the wifeand can cause conflict and lead
to future problems in the relationship. However, if the man interpreting the message were familiar
with his wife s way of communication, he may have understood and avoided a conflict situation.
Becoming more aware of how one s own self communicates will also aid in healthier
communication between spouses. This literature review will discuss methods, limitations, and
results associated with nonverbal communication styles, conflict because of communication, and
communicated perspective taking within relationships.

David Edelstien s Review
The movie Avatar, by James Cameron, was a well loved movie currently rated second in box
office, meaning there are hundreds of reviews that have been made. An article in The New
Yorker by David Edelstien is one of the many positive reviews of this movie. The way that
Edelstien handles his review is unique. However, there are aspects of his review that are not
pleasing. To start off, Edelstien is very quick in expressing is enjoyment for Avatar, referring to it
as a mighty ode to Gigantism and Awesomeness. After this point, the writer goes to talk about the
subject. The impressive part of this review is the way Edelstien decided to approach the subject.
The fact that Edelstien uses the analogy of Native Americans versus capitalist imperialists

Reflection Of The Film Corner In Wheat
Corner in Wheat Reflection Paper Corner in Wheat is a film created by D.W. Griffith in 1909. The
film focuses on the three divisions of the wheat market, which was rare at the time because most
films during the early twentieth century focused on people. The first division showcases the
farmers who grow the wheat. The next division portrays the Wheat King, a wealthy businessman
who controls the wheat market. The last division follows the bakery, the place that distributes the
wheat, and the consumers who purchase the bread that is made from the wheat. The filmhas a
variety of elements within the shots of the film. The depth of field is one of the elements that can
be viewed in Corner in Wheat. One of the last shots in the film is the farmersprinkling wheat on the
field. This shot shows how the camera moves from background to the front ground, which
presents deep space. The farmer is shown walking from a distance sprinkling the wheat,
eventually, as he continues walking he moves closer to the camera as he goes about his business.
The depth of the field of the farmer s field is different than the depth of field in the grain elevator.
D.W. Griffin emphasizes space with the background because of the layout which, directly extends
straight back to a door, making this shot have deep space. Moreover, the movement of the people
goes left to right. The staircase is on the left and stands near the hole where the wheat is falling into
the hole and the people are told to continue

Examples Of What Motivates Terrorists
What Motivates Terrorists?
Abstract
This paper will seek to understand what really motivates terrorists to commit the acts that make
them so infamous. We are assuming that the chief motivating factor behind the decisions of
terrorist organizations is the political outcome of their acts balanced against the risk and collateral
damage inflicted to achieve this end. We will also weigh in the appeal of terrorism on potential
recruits in weak states and determine how the motivations of the group become the motivation of
the individual and how this benefits the decentralized organization of terrorist organizations like al
Qaeda.

We assume the political options have been weighed and other political avenues are blocked
leaving terrorists the only option left of resorting to the bombing of innocents. This marks the logic
of terrorist groups as one of consequence. They have been made to resort to the decision to harm
innocents. Al Qaeda loves to play the you brought this upon yourselves card to justify their actions.
The basic human rights are obviously violated by terrorist groups. The right to live free and
without fear is taken from the innocent when a bomb explodes in their midst. This kind of
collateral damage is justifiable by terrorists. The innocent become objects rather than human beings.
The terrorist to meet their political agendas uses these objects. In being treated as an object, the
innocent victim is worse off than the (alleged) guilty victim. Insofar as the latter is judged to have
done a wrong, he is thought of as a human (Fotion, 1981).
These groups advocate that the loss of human rights for some will result in the respect of human
rights for all. Essentially and end to war and a world ran by sharia. Even if their claims of
unavoidable collateral damage were justifiable, that is not enough to make terrorism itself justified.
The argument exists that terrorists actually do not achieve their political goals by attacking

  • 2. Sexually Transmitted Infection Public Health Problem Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) has been a persisting public health problem throughout the world. While some STIs, like gonorrhea, are curable, other STIs like human papillomavirus (HPV), have no cure and can lead to deadly consequences. Unfortunately, HPV is considered to be the most common type of sexually transmitted infection. Like all STIs, HPV spread through sexual contact with an infected person, whether it be vaginal, anal, or oral sex. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are about 79 million Americans infected with HPV at a time and about 14 million new cases arise every year ( Human Papillomavirus (HPV) ). This means that about one in four people are infected with some type ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Between 2007 and 2009, an HPV vaccine program was introduced in Australia. Three years after the introduction, Brotheron, Fridman, May, Chappell, Saville, and Gertig (2011) examined how these vaccines affected women s cervical health. It was found that after the vaccine program was introduced, there was a lower number of reports of women having high grade cervical abnormalities. While this was only the first report, it shows great promise that implementing a program for the HPV vaccine will have a positive effect on women s health. The lower the chances are for people to contract the HPV virus means that there s a lower chance that people will develop cervical cancer and other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Navy Seal Personal Narrative July 13th 2015, I began a journey that changed entirety of myself for the better. I woke up that morning in the hotel room I was assigned; I d been waiting and training for an entire year in anticipation of that day. I was finally on my way to Great Lakes, Illinois to attend Naval Bootcamp under contract to attend Basic Underwater Demolition/Seal Class 317 afterwards. I was was only 19 but it felt as if I was coming straight out of high school. I d never lived anywhere else other than with my mother in North Georgia, so leaving the state and starting a new life was a little odd. I remember July 12th when I got in the recruiting recruiting station s van to take me to the hotel. I was trying so hard to be strong, yet I couldn t stop myself from tearing up once my mother was out of view. It was sad to leave her behind, but I was sure I had my life figured out... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The truth is, none of that matters. A Navy Seal is someone that does what they know needs to be done regardless of how they feel, or how outside sources feel. Navy Seal is a mindset, a person could put up the best run/swim times in the world but if they are not mentally prepared to wake up every morning at 3am, put on wet clothing from the previous day, and go lay in the 50 degree water surrounding Coronado before breakfast, then they aren t going to make it. Everyone associates Navy Seals with guns, violence, and counter terrorism but that is just their niche. Anyone that has a burning desire to chase what they want or believe is right, and will sacrifice everything for it, is a Navy Seal. This new person the Navy has made out of me is one that s going to give life a run for it s money. I am chasing my happiness everyday and no one will stop me. • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Gps INTRODUCTION The Global Positioning System, commonly referred to as the GPS, is one of the greatest innovations that truly revolutionized the way we function in the 21st century. It s a space based satellite navigation system that uses 27 satellites and a wide range of networks of powerful computers used to send signals down to earth. These signals carry a time code and geographical data point that allows the user to pinpoint their exact position, speed and time anywhere on the planet. Centuries ago, explorers used clues such as the position of the sun during the day as a means of navigating but these left explorers helplessly lost. 2. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The GPS technology is used widely in climate studies such as earthquake research and accurate daily weather forecasts. Corporate companies are using the GPS technology as a useful tool to monitor employee productivity by keeping record of their clocking times , frequency and duration of lunch breaks. The commercialisation of the GPS technology has led to the development of hand held GPS navigation devices that are used for recreational activities such as hiking and outdoor treasure hunting. 4.2 Disadvantages One of the greatest disadvantage of the GPS technology is that it relies completely on receiving satellite signals, so it s prone to radio interference and nuclear weapons. Another issue is accuracy in terms of updating the navigation system, for example, drivers using the GPS navigation technology can find themselves stuck in traffic due to blocked ... Our readers want to know which is the best set of MMA training DVD s for them available, online or offline. Unfortunately, this question is very hard to answer. I ll explain in a minute. But first, let s have a quick look at what MMA is. MMA is short for Mixed Martial Arts. It s a fighting sport with lots of fans and several shows like UFC, Bellator, M1 Global and Elite XC. UFC has become so famous that it s even threatening boxing s supremacy in popularity rankings. So the right set of training DVD s for you may not be the same as the one for the next guy. Additionally, some people need training videos to start to train and ultimately start fighting in a ring. Others want to learn self defense techniques from the Mixed Martial Arts training DVD s. Others are looking to pick up a few quick pointers to help them out should they ever get into a street or bar fight, yet others look at it as a preferred way of working out (subdivided in acquiring body weight and cardio exercise). A minority even looks for them just to show off with their friends... Then there are training DVD s and videos for beginners, for intermediary fighters and a few that teach advanced techniques. • 6. Oak Park Township s Potential Trend Equation 1 Introduction This report presents projections of Oak Park Township s population for the year 2030. These projections were done by three methods such as the following: allocation, trend extrapolation, and cohort component. These projected processes and results can be elaborated by methods in the following sections. 2 Population Projection Methods 2.1 Allocation Allocation, this method uses larger region s population or projections and percentage of population of a smaller area in the larger region to estimate smaller area s population. Oak Park Township is located in Cook County, so the first step is to obtain the most recent population of Cook County and Oak Park Township and the projected population of Cook County in 2030. According to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then, using the population of each five year cohort in 2000, we projected the population excluding migration in 2010. Comparing the census and projected population in 2010, the10 year migration rates were estimated. So, with the migration rates, the migration of 2030 could be projected. Due to the projected births, deaths and migration in 2030, the projected population of Oak park Township in 2030 was shown in following Table 4. Comparatively speaking, the allocation and trend extrapolation methods require less data and simply assume current distributions and the trend will continue. However, the cohort component method relies on more data and assumptions than the others. It can be rationally projected. That is to say, if obtaining the data and assumptions is not difficult, the cohort component could provide a reliable projection. 3 Conclusion The results of the projected population of Oak Park Township in 2030 by different methods were distinctly shown in Table 6. These projections have quite a bit of difference. According to the above comparison of three methods, the cohort component should be the reliable one. In conclusion, the population of Oak Park Township is likely to see a reduction, compared with 2010. The population is projected from 51,878 to 45,187, a decrease of 6,691 or 12.9 ... However, my humanities class helped me clarify my thoughts about how the term good life could be defined. A good life is living with ambition and creating new experiences with the ones you love the most. For me, a good life not only consist of me reaching my goals but it also lies on helping the people around me to reach their goals. • 14. Statistical Control Charts Essay Introduction and History of Statistical Process Control Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a method of controlling the quality of a manufacturing process and is most often affiliated with control charts. However, SPC in reality is a group of tools and includes additional statistical and evaluation/measurement methods. Smith, Megahed, Jones‐Farmer and Clark defined seven basic tools of SPC including; histograms, check sheets, Pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, defect concentration diagrams, scatter diagrams and of course the aforementioned control charts (2014). These tools represent the scope and overall purpose/pursuit of SPC which is; any statistical method designed to detect changes in a process over time (Woodall Montgomery, 1999, p. 377). Since control charts is often the most discussed of these seven tools; it is important to note there are many different types of control charts. The main control charts include; process charts which are R charts and s charts, non conforming item charts also known as p charts and np charts and finally average numbers of non conformity charts or c charts and u charts (Woodall Montgomery, 1999). Statistical Process Control experienced its most significant growth and expansion during the quality revolution in the 1980 s (Woodall Montgomery, 1999). It was during this time period that the focal point of quality changed from being merely acceptance or customer defined quality criteria to actual process control (Woodall ... • 15. Innate And The Immune System In this essay the link between the two different parts of the immune system should be explained. The immune system consists of the innate immune system on the one hand and the adaptive immune system on the other. The innate system reacts fast and protects the body through barriers or special cells, but the specificity of this system is very low. Contrary to the innate system acts the adaptive system. It is needed if the innate system fails and therefore takes more time to get activated, but its specificity is very high. This essay should describe, how these two systems work together and how they are linked up to each other. The immune system consists of two parts, the innate and the adaptive part. The biggest difference is, that the adaptive immune system is very specific for certain pathogens, and it has the ability to remember. That means, that the adaptive immune system gets better after each infection with the same pathogen. (Roitt, et al., 1996) The first contact from a pathogen with the body is always with the innate immune system. It is here to prevent the body from an infection through pathogens and it forms the first defense line. Although India is a developing country, in the last few years due to economic crises, the country has been facing numerous challenges. Despite the situation, very recently it has been acknowledged that the Indian market has seen as increase in the demand for luxury items specially Luxury Cars. Another fact to be considered is that the demand of such cars is not only increased in Tier I cities but also in Tier II and Tier III cities. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most significant barriers comprises the brand equityenjoyed by most established brands. The repute of the brand is extremely important to customers; luxury brands such as Jaguar, Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi have a long and magnificent history to boast about, and the companies work hard to preserve the association between them and other symbols of individuality and of top notch quality and performance. Although several Asian companies have developed new luxury brands to compete with the traditional European and American brands, it is extremely difficult for challengers to match the prestige of brands with years of history. Another challenging barrier to entry is the huge initial investment required to enter car markets in general. Large amounts of capital are required to set up manufacturing facilities and invest in R D, among other large expenses. This also creates large sunk costs and makes it hard to achieve economies of scale. The capital requirements are one of the main reasons why new luxury brands have been produced by companies which were already present in the market as large car manufacturers (Toyota s Lexus and Nissan s Infiniti) and not by new, free standing, ... The Pros And Cons Of Human Trafficking After attending a 3 day training on commercial sexual exploitation of children conducted by the Girls educational and mentoring services (GEMS), I discussed the issue with my friend, an ER physician. I mentioned that after the workshop, every troubled child seemed like a trafficked child to me, and that I was obviously just being paranoid. Not exactly, she replied. I myself have observed quite a few girls whom I suspected to be human traffickingvictims while I was at the ER. When I asked her about the protocol ER officials followed when they suspected trafficking, she replied Nothing! We treat them for superficial wounds or injuries like any other patient and send them home. We have neither the time or the training to deal with that situation, heart wrenching as it may be. Human trafficking is a pressing human rights and public healthissue of our time. According to the Department of homeland security, Human trafficking is modern day slavery and involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act (Homeland Security, 2017). There are hundreds of thousands of trafficking victims in the US. 8042 cases of human trafficking were reported to the National Human Trafficking hotline in the US in 2016, a 35% increase over the previous year (Polaris, 2017). These different views shape the philosophies of anthropologist who are classified as materialist, idealist, or falling in between. The materialist approach focuses on positivistic knowledge and empirical truths. Materialists use science and material elements within society to explain the basis for human culture and life; they consider anthropology one of the sciences. On the other hand, idealists consider anthropology one of the humanities. Idealists view culture and behavior as a pattern of interpretation of beliefs and ideas by the participants. Leacock s approach to anthropology stemmed from materialist theories, but her ethnographical works were a detailed mix, which focused on historical processes. In Women s Status in Egalitarian Society: Implications for Social Revolution, She argues that ethnographies presented on the topic were misguided due to their ahistorical approach, ethnocentric perspectives concerning social economic notions attributed to Western societies, and the oversight of the effects of capitalism. Leacock claims taking a historical approach when analyzing women s status in egalitarian band societies will lead to a less oppressed view of women s standing. She rejects the idea that women s roles are submissive and subservient to men, pointing out they are assumptions that ...both derive from and perpetuate a view of such society as merely an incipient form of our own (Moore, 2009, p.246). Leacock points to the lack of evidence in research stating that, Women are commonly stated or implied to hold low status in one or another society without benefit of empirical documentation (Moore, 2009, p.247). Another major fault she uncovers is in the contradictory findings within Ruth Landes Objiwai Women ; women of the same society are initially portrayed to be self sufficient and independent , but later are described as inferior to men, unskilled, and dependent on men. Tropical Nature: Life and Death in the Rain Forests of Central and South America has opened my eyes to another world that I had not paid much attention to. Adrian Forsyth and Ken Miyata introduced a new world of wonder filled with so much diversity. Ecology and evolution go hand and hand, and the rainforesta beautiful ecosystem driven by the climate [biome] is a phenomenal example as hot spot for evolution. From the humidity, the high temperatures, the canopy of the trees, and so much more. Diversity thrives in this environment, and it s obvious from the variety of species that have been found inhabiting such areas. Organisms depend on their communities, they depend on the interspecific relationships they develop; from predation (herbivory, carnivores, etc.), mutualism, parasitism, and commensalism. Without each other, they could not survive, and in some cases they even evolve with one another. The evolutionary process of pollination of flowers provides some examples of this. Tropical plants are dioecious, which translates to having separate male and female plants. Tropical plants cannot rely on the traditional wind pollination method due to the lack of wind and lack of targets nearby; therefore, they cannot pollinate themselves or plants of the same sex. Instead, they often look towards the mobile organisms that surround them. To do this, they ve evolved ways to attract them; either provide them with a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Recommended tests for patients with suspected hypercoagulable consist of CBC, lipid profiles, and TSH test (Kumar, 2010). A hypercoagulation panel and D dimer test are needed for monitoring anticoagulant therapy (Kumar, 2010). CBC results will reveal an increase in RBCs. • 37. Huck s Use Of Greed In Huckleberry Finn Paradise is often described as the perfect getaway into the utmost luxurious world; in fact, the bare necessity of paradise lies upon civilization. For centuries, most people have seen civilization as a necessity of life. However, in Mark Twain s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huck holds a starkly contested opinion of civilization, which is society is corrupt and to Huck, unnecessary. He believes in frequent inappropriate and barbaric actions in order to assert his own opinion regarding society and allow himself to depart from the evils of society and civilization. In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Twain exhibits Huck s characteristics of deceit, boorish behavior, and a sense of freedom to allow Huck to combat the evils of society... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One foggy night, Huck demonstrates his talent of deceiving Jim by slyly stating, I hain t seen no fog, nor no islands, nor no troubles, nor nothing. I been setting here talking with you all night . . . so of course you ve been dreaming (Twain 88). After Huck and Jim are separated by the river s current in the evening s fog, Huck claims to know nothing about the separation and asserts that Jim has been dreaming. Soon enough, Jim ascertains Huck s trick and induces his apology. Huck lies for the thrill, even if it results in a bitter Jim. Huck feels that conducting himself in a churlish manner draws himself further and further from civilization. Huck is virtually relying on his genuine self to complete the arduous task of escaping humanity. Neil Schmitz, an esteemed writer, notes, What lies coiled in the child is the aboriginal self, an effortless beauty that mocks the repressed, fiercely civilized adult ( The Paradox of Liberation in Huckleberry Finn ). Schmitz is expressing his opinion that Huck s lying brings out a raw, barbarian version of himself. In order to prove that he is truly not one with society, Huck essentially unmasks himself by lying. Furthermore, Huck s deceit brings him even further from civilization, almost to the point where his behavior mocks society and those who have fallen to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Base on my opinion, when it comes to purchasing a house, we would want to get a good property at an inexpensive value and have a good home appreciation value so that we can invest in a house property with no future worries. This will give me my negotiating range that I can use when making my offer. If the amount in Step 1 is higher than Step 5, I may be able to secure an offer by bidding a higher price than the seller is offering. If the amount in Step 1 is lower than Step 5, I ll need to focus on bringing the final price down to a more affordable range. Calculating reservation price is an important part of the home buying process and can help me negotiate the best possible deal for my situation and get the home that I want. • 39. Schizophrenia Is A Heterogeneous Illness Schizophrenia is a heterogeneous illness that may involve several pathophysiological gender differences. For men and women incidence risk peaks between 20 29 years of age, and women also have a second risk peak between 30 39 years of age. Negative symptoms including low motivation and withdrawal are more frequent in men and appear up to six years before diagnosis (Hafner, 2005; Hafner et al., 1993; Morgan et al., 2008). Women exhibit greater levels of depression and positive symptoms including sexual inappropriateness, impulsivity and delusions (Mendrek et al., 2015; Van der Werf et al., 2014). Sex differences in either age of onset or prevalence of negative symptoms are not as evident in patients that have a family history of schizophrenia (Bergen et al., 2014; Hafner et al., 1998). Estrogen has been proposed to have a possible protective role that may account for a later age of disease onset in women, when levels are lowest during post response rates to antipsychotic drugs are also higher in women menopause (Allen et al., 2013; Hafner, 2005; Leung M.D. Chue M. R. C. Psych., 2000; Ochoa et al., 2012). Obstetric complications have also been connected with an increased risk of developing schizophrenia, an earlier age of disease onset, poorer outcomes and ventricular enlargement. Such complications appear to be more frequent and severe in males than females. (Allen et al., 2013; Dalman et al., 1999; Kelly et al., 2004). Prenatal exposure to influenza 5 months before birth ... You have to dedicate your life to God, and to your family. That is the reason why going on these missionaries are so important to them. Hoods Bringing Light December 12, 2014 Abstract: This experiment was conducted to determine if the light of a glow stick can be affected by the temperature of water. In this the researcher will try to find what temperature of water makes a glow stick glow brighter and how long it will stay lit. By proceeding in the experiment, the data collected proved the hypothesis to be correct. Warmer water caused the glow stick to glow brighter than it had before. On the other hand, the beaker with colder water made the stick stay lit longer and the room temperature water didn t affect the glow stick as much. • 48. Reflection Of The Film Corner In Wheat Corner in Wheat Reflection Paper Corner in Wheat is a film created by D.W. Griffith in 1909. The film focuses on the three divisions of the wheat market, which was rare at the time because most films during the early twentieth century focused on people. The first division showcases the farmers who grow the wheat. The next division portrays the Wheat King, a wealthy businessman who controls the wheat market. The last division follows the bakery, the place that distributes the wheat, and the consumers who purchase the bread that is made from the wheat. The filmhas a variety of elements within the shots of the film. The depth of field is one of the elements that can be viewed in Corner in Wheat. One of the last shots in the film is the farmersprinkling wheat on the field. This shot shows how the camera moves from background to the front ground, which presents deep space. The farmer is shown walking from a distance sprinkling the wheat, eventually, as he continues walking he moves closer to the camera as he goes about his business. The depth of the field of the farmer s field is different than the depth of field in the grain elevator. D.W. Griffin emphasizes space with the background because of the layout which, directly extends straight back to a door, making this shot have deep space. Moreover, the movement of the people goes left to right. The staircase is on the left and stands near the hole where the wheat is falling into the hole and the people are told to continue ...
