The document describes the process-oriented storage control for inbound and outbound processes in EWM. For inbound, intermediate steps like unloading, deconsolidation and counting may occur at work centers before automatic warehouse tasks are created to move items to intermediate storage. For outbound, the warehouse process type and source/destination bins are determined to create warehouse tasks from waves which generate warehouse orders to complete the picking. Intermediate steps like packing can also be performed at work centers with tasks to move items between areas.
