each year Medellin is filled
with flowers and parties to
receive one of the most
traditional celebrations in
Colombia.
The Flower Fair is the most
important event in Medellin,
as it embodies all the values
of the Antioquia people.
What people
wear
The men dress in a white
shirt, black pants, quotes, a
hat and the traditional paisa
carriel.
The women also wear a
white blouse, they wear a
long skirt, quotes and a scarf
that covers their head.

festival, silleteros parade,
concerts, and classic car
parades among others are
celebrated
Why it is a
special
celebration.
The flower fair is a special
celebration because the
peasants of Antioquia are the
central axis of it with their
participation as silleteros
since through flowers they
pay tribute to women, fertility
and life.
