How effective is the combination of your main
product (video) and ancillary texts (digipaks and
advertisement)?
VISUAL LINKS – ANCILLARY PRODUCTS
 Ancillary products has to be consistent as well. For our digipak and
 advertisement to link we chose a house style. Which were the colours, the
 font.

VISUAL LINKS
   The main visual link we had was the setting from the music video,
   which was the streets of London. We chose to make this a visual link
   as our artist “DeeBanks” is fond of representing where he is from, so
   the back outward panel has a photo of where filmed which is
   Westminster London
VISUAL LINKS
 Another main visual link from the video and ancillary products were the
 outfits, which was mainly his hat and upward clothing. So in the print
 screen below it shoes that he always wear his snapback, a white top or a
 body warmer. Keeping it urban for the target audience as it is aimed at
 young males.
VISUAL LINKS
   A different visual link we had was camera work, in most music videos,
   close ups are very popular. Nearly all music video has close up, in our
   case as our artist was new, we had to use loads to introduce and
   present our artist.
CONSISTENCY
 A successful music video would have clear visual links with its
 ancillary products. I first kept to the house style, which we chose
 as a group. So keeping with mainly the blue and black colours, the
 colour was chosen as we filmed at night time and the colour blue
 as the bridge was lit up in that colour.
HOW CAN THE AUDIENCE RECOGNISED THEM
AS LINKED PRODUCTS?


 The audience can clearly differentiate between the two
 products that they are linked clearly. As the music video
 consist of mainly Dee Banks and only featuring Delilah.
 Whereas the ancillary work has his image written across it.
 So therefore the audience can recognise that they are
 linked products.
HOW SUCCESSFUL DO YOU THINK YOUR
MAIN AND ANCILLARY PRODUCTS ARE?
 Overall I believe that my main and ancillary was successful. As they have
 visual links and meet the genre of the artist. Which makes it a successful
 product. Also the ancillary work is visually pleasing promoting the same
 artist.
 What makes it successful is that it meets the requirements. The genre of
 our music was Hip-hop/Grime/Rap and the target audience was young
 males aged from 14 to 19 from a working class. The wider audience is
 young females from the age 17 to 25 that are interested in the same type
 of genre.
 I think that the target audience will be attracted to the main and
 ancillary work as it is aimed at them. Also with the age range they go
 with today's trend. As for the setting, it shows and urban upbringing they
 had which they share with the artist. So having a link between the artist
 and target audience help the products appeal to them.
