This is an evaluation of my finalised media work that I have done in college and it describes what programmes/software I have been using in order to complete it.

Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.

2. Canon DLSR Camera
• This was the camera used to take the pictures for the
cover, contents and double page spread of my
magazine. It was the main piece of equipment to get my
magazine up and running as without it I would of had low
quality images that wouldn't fit very well. I've not really
used cameras much in the past but in the end I got a
grasp on how to zoom in, take different shots with
different lighting in order to get the pictures I wanted.
3. Photoshop CS6
This was a program that I have used many times in the past but
was the most essential program to making my magazine as I
used it for every bit of detail that I have done so far. My
magazine was created by using this program due to adding
layers and background which all adds up to create my
magazine. I also used the pictures of the DLSR Camera on this
program in order to edit and place it them onto my magazine.
Without it none of it would of been possible and along the way I
have picked up new skills on how to add layers of drop
shadows and effects on to my text and images in order to add
detail towards it.
4. Blogger
This was something completely different towards
what I have done in the past so it was a new and fun
experience for me as its soul purpose for my work is
to present it as a journey from the beginning to the
end. This website was basic and showed you how to
embed codes from other programs like Flickr and
Slideshare so you can share it with everyone else.
5. Flickr
This was something that I used to demonstrate my
magazine earlier in an evaluation question. I have
never used anything like this before but it was pretty
basic due to the fact that you can upload high quality
images and embed its code into other things like
blogger which allow people to comment on them and
give feedback.
6. Slideshare
This a website that allowed me to place a power
point document into it to produce an embed code
that allowed me to place it on my blogger. It was a
new experience for me as I never knew that this
could be done and it was basic due to the fact that it
gives you an embed code and can be placed in
anything that has an HTML. I used this for my
publication plan a while back which was very useful
and easy to use.
7. Apple Mac
This was a piece of equipment/software I have never
used before in the past and at first was extremely difficulty
to use as I didn't know what half the stuff did compared to
a Microsoft computer with windows. The buttons on the
mouse were set out in a completely different format which
made using Photoshop difficult but as i progressed
throughout the production of my magazine I adapted to its
style. My skill using this has much improved since the
beginning and has allowed me to use programs like
Photoshop easier without struggle.
8. Adobe InDesign CS6
This was the program that I had the most difficult using to
begin with as I had to decide whether to use this or
Photoshop for the production of my magazine but in the
end I chose Photoshop. I chose the other program
because InDesign is for more formal layouts which I didn't
need because I wanted to be creative and create
something that was catchy to the eye. This program is for
more formal layouts but I used it at the beginning of my
blog and watched tutorials on how to use it.
