The document discusses the various media technologies used at different stages of producing a music video and ancillary texts. During planning and research, the author used tools like PowerPoint, WordPress, Google, and YouGov to understand the target audience and genre conventions. Filming utilized a Canon camera and phones, and editing was done in Final Cut Pro. Photoshop was used to create the ancillary texts, and difficulties arose learning the software. Presentations of evaluations used PowerPoint, Scribd, and WordPress. Social media like WhatsApp aided collaboration.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Evaluation question 4
1. EVALUATION QUESTION 4.
How did you use media
technologies in the
construction and research,
planning and evaluation
stages?
2. During our production process for our products(Music video and Ancillary Texts) i used a variety of
software's during my planning and research and evaluation stages these included:
PowerPoint
Slide share
Emaze
WordPress
Prezi
Padlet
Storyboard That.
Word
Photoshop
Visme
YouGov
Google Slides
3. BENEFITS OF USING TECHNOLOGIES IN OUR
RESEARCH AND PLANNING.
The benefits of using websites such as YouGov helped me with my research for my audiences. I did most of my research on a Mac
computer and researching about my target audience before I began my production for my music video. This has helped me to know what
type of conventions to include in my music video in other for it to appeal to my target audience. For example using YouGov made me
realise that Lorde had a huge fan base that consisted of Female particularly females, this made me understand how to target the females
through the lyrics by having shots that matched the lyrics, whilst also targeting other audiences by creating a nostalgic feeling for the
audience using different types of camera movements and shots.
Additionally, I used the search engine google to help me for my research before my production began for my music video and my
ancillary text. I used google to search for lyrics to the song for my music video, listen to the song, looking at real digipaks from pop artists
and also researching about conventions for my genre. This helped me to understand the genre more and also helped me know the
conventions I will be conforming to and also the conventions I will be challenging or developing in my music video and also in my
ancillary texts. We also used our phone when we began shooting to research and help us. For example when we were shooting and we
forgot the lyrics we used YouTube to get the lyrics on our phone to help remember the lyrics or learn new lyrics for lip syncing. We also
used our phone to play the music throughout the shooting process to help aid our imagery for our music video as we didn’t stick much to
our storyboard as we had new ideas whilst filming.
4. I have also used WordPress to present my research for my planning, research and my evaluation
questions. WordPress was beneficial to me as it was easy to use in terms of embedding videos, and
software's I had used to present my work such as Prezi, slide share and Emaze, to show how we was
getting our inspiration and also it was easier to keep track of our work, by updating with new ideas and
showing a progression overtime after filming and editing.
In terms of research and planning I had use Survey monkey to create a questionnaire to find out about
my target audience, this helped me to make an informed decision on what I wanted my target audience
to be. We had also used Microsoft excel to create graphs, bar charts and pie charts to present the result
we had from the questionnaires, this made it easier for us to understand. Furthermore, we had used
Microsoft word to analyse our lyrics to understand the lyrics more in-depth and also the lyrics we would
use for lip sync or we would want to create meaning for.
5. Social media such as WhatsApp was of great use to me and my group as we used it to
plan times we were available to meet and also discuss any difficulties we had and how we
could resolve these issues. For example on the day when one of us wasn’t available to
make it for filming we would use the WhatsApp group chat to discuss an alternative day
for the shooting or we would come to a solution of two people filming and one person
editing the footage that has been filmed to keep everything balanced and concise.
6. BENEFITS OF USING TECHNOLOGIES IN OUR
CONSTRUCTION STAGES.
We had use a canon camera to film our music video, along with the camera we had used
our mobile phones to film some scenes individually which we felt had good correlation
with our music video. After filming the footage was the uploaded to a Mac computer in
school, through our USB and then edited using final cut pro, we started by sequencing
the video which meant that we chose the shots we felt had more impact and
complimented out message more, also we used YouTube to find Archive footage which
would create meaning for an audience, we then added transitions to the videos and
made sure our shots were matching the pace of the song.
We had used Photoshop to make our ancillary text although at the start it was difficult, it
became easier as we began the process as we tried using different styles and also to
manipulate the image to create the change and have the impact we wanted on the
audience.
7. BENEFITS OF USING TECHNOLOGIES IN OUR
EVALUATION STAGES.
I have used PowerPoint to present my evaluation questions 1 and 2. this is because it allows
me to embed pictures and it was easier to use to present my work, it also allows me to
change my slide to pictures which I can then embed on WordPress easily as pictures. I have
also used scribd to present one of my evaluation questions this is because it also quicker as
it allows you to upload your slides and also to edit your slides to suit your theme. For my
final evaluation question I have created a video using my music video with audio focus
group from my audience which I embedded on to WordPress and have written a report for.
I have also included pictures of questionnaires from a focus group which I and my group
carried out.
8. DIFFICULTIES OF USING TECHNOLOGIES AT
DIFFERENT STAGES.
The most difficulty we had was using Photoshop for our ancillary text because we were
unfamiliar with the software, therefore we had to practice using pictures from google to
try create a clipping mask for our digipack and our CD cover.
We also had difficulty choosing a font for our digipak advert therefore we used Dafont to
create a graffiti font for our digipak and the advert.
9. If we were to improve our work I would say we should have used adobe pro to edit our
music video as we could have had more sophisticated choices of transitions, also went it
came to matching the lip syncs to the song pace we had difficulties as some of our shots
didn’t sync to the pace of our song, which could have been resolved if we had used
adobe pro. Also another difficulty I could have improved on is my presentation, although
I use different software's I felt like I could have improved by having a mixture between
videos rather than have mostly presentations.
