2. Skateboard
The usage of a skateboard was incorporated into our media products
production. This is because when we were filming the girl walking up the
stairs Abbie was on the skateboard filming, while I pushed her across the
hallway to create a panning effect following the girl walking up the stairs.
We found that this simple effect fit in really well into our sequence and
helped increase the variety of shots we used and enhance the audiences
experience of the opening sequence. The skateboard was used at 0:18
3. Sony camcorder
This is an exact image of the camera we used for the
majority of our filming. This camera was used to record
most of my groups media product I found that it was a
good camera as its image quality was good and the video produced was
directly compatible with the software used later to edit it. A large amount
of the camerawork done was down to planning and sticking to my
production schedule. I noticed that we had to rest the camera on a surface
when filing certain shots as the camera would appear to be shaky and give
off the wrong affect to the audience, this is why we rested the camera on
surfaces where necessary to enable us to produce steady and still shots.
The camera also had a zoom button which was used to later zoom into the
book in our sequence, I found this camera greatly helped.
4. Sony camcorder
Aside from teaching me how to keep a shot steady and allowing to me to
incorporate a wide variety of shots into my final product I also learnt that
sometimes multiple takes of shots are necessary as some shots may not be
suitable when editing the final product and it is good to have back up
shots ready.
5. Printer
I used a printer to print an image and overlay it onto a book, the image
was of a girl in a red coat, the image is later continued as a video, the
printer helped us make the transition into the book efficient and allow
me to convey it properly to our audience as this is something we failed to
do during the first draft of our product.
6. HD Panasonic camcorder
Due to the fact that none of the Sony Cameras were available to us during
some stages of our filming we then used a group members camera to
finish off filming the sequence, this was slightly out of plan and the HD
rendered video was not compatible with the outdated software our school
had. We solved this issue by converting the HD video file to a lower video
format. This benefited us as we learnt to adapt and improvise with what
we have, it also helped us provide a solution when it comes to certain
technologies.
7. IPhone
I used an IPhone to take pictures of the location used for my blog and
also for showing the protagonist on my blog
