Evaluation Question 3
2. Who were our target audience?
It was vital for us to get the right target audience, and
to then market our products appropriately for them.
This is because they will be the ones watching the
film, so if your attracting the wrong people then the
film wont be a success.
When initially researching target audience, I looked at
three pre-existing films with similar genres and
themes to our own, and identified who their target
audiences were. The three films I looked at were
Legend, Skyfall and Black Mass.
After analysing the results, I came up with our own
target audience which is male and females 15-24.
3. Audience Feedback
Audience feedback is a highly important part of the
process, as it interesting to see what they enjoy and
what doesn’t work for them.
Throughout this project I have got audience feedbacks on
a number of our drafts and edits of all three of our
products. This helped us develop ideas on how to
improve our products to make them as professional as
possible.
Audience feedback is used in the industry and is highly
important for the distribution companies as
consequently they can find out who the audience is,
which then makes it a lot easier to distribute the film.
4. Audience Feedback Received
We were fortunate as a group to have a target
audience which is fitting to our focus one to review
our products and give us feedback.
This is because the feedback we got was from our
class, which is a group of around 20 17-18 year olds
of both genres which is who our actual target
audience is.
This was beneficial as it gave us a realistic audience
feedback from people who are likely to watch films
with similar genres and themes.
5. Feedback Strategies
We gathered our feedback in a number of different
ways, these include getting members of the class to
comment on the teaser trailer which we posted on
YouTube, getting the audience to fill in a form
asking leading questions into what the strength
and weaknesses were and also getting verbal
feedback from members of the class as well as the
teachers.
6. Was It Beneficial
The feedback which we received was highly
beneficial because it allowed us the opportunity to
change the weaknesses which were identified,
which as a group we may not have seen.
Not only was it beneficial receiving the feedback
from our peers, but it was also beneficial to give
them feedback on their products because when
analysing theirs we could see potential strengths
which could have worked on our teaser trailer
which we could then incoorporate.
8. Our Final Product Feedback
This was very interesting to see how people interpreted
our final product. For instance the audience could see
the link between the three products which we were
pleased about, and they also preferred the new and
improved design for our poster which we changed the
whole design because of the comments from a
previous audience feedback.
