2. > How does your media product represent particular social groups?
First of all, the killer’s social demographic is unknown to
the viewer so that we do not know what background he
is from. As he is a ‘killer’ it might suggest that he possibly
lived in poor conditions or had a hard life back at home.
However, since his clothes are in good condition (no
tears, rips or dirt on the clothes) it is plausible that the
background of the character could be that he is of
middle/working class and has run away from home or his
parents passed away and this is his way of coping with it.
His clothes are that of a stereotypical teenager, a big
hoodie and dark slim fit jeans.

3. Before the audience can clearly make out that the
killer is holding a knife, the dark jeans and creepy
behaviour, could foresee that he isn’t a normal
teenager and that there is something sinister about
his character. At the end of our opening sequence
when you see the mid/ close up of the knife, it
shows that it is a significant prop and the way it is
held connotes death. The knife is also a significant
prop, as it tells the audience what the movie will be
about and what the dilemma will be in the movie.

4. The way that he is stereotypically dressed and
given his obvious gender, it portrays the
teenage community as always hiding something
or that they are dangerous. This plays to the
typical view about teenagers who wear big
hoodies that cover their face or that are being
mysterious because it appears as though they
are going to harm the general public.
