The author learned to better edit photos, conduct research on existing magazines, and improve font and layout selection. For the preliminary task, photos were not edited, research was not conducted, and default fonts were used without consideration for layout. However, for the final product, photos were manipulated to look more professional, research was done on popular music magazine conventions, and custom fonts from online sources were selected to make the layout more creative and intriguing for the audience.

2. Photo Editing
 I think Photoshop has allowed us to be able to edit it our photos better. In our preliminary task
we did not really change or edit our images whereas in our real product we started to
manipulate the images and make them look more professional to
add to our overall realistic look of the magazine.
 Overall, our editing of the photos in our final products look better than our
preliminary task as we did not take much are with the preliminary task and concentrated more
on our final products to make it look as realistic as possible.

3. Research into existing magazines
 During the course of making our final products we had time to research into different music
magazines and see how they used layouts and fonts to make a popular magazine people would
want to read. This allowed us to make our magazines fit in with these magazines and use the
conventions they had used too. Whereas when doing our preliminary task we had to guess that the
layout was right and looked professional as we did not research into school magazines.

4. Fonts and Layout
 When making our preliminary task we just used the fonts that were already available on Photoshop,
this made our magazine look quite plain and boring which did not add to the overall look of the
magazine. Whereas over the progression of the course we realised that we could find different
fonts of the internet like on urbanfonts.com. This helped to make our magazines look more creative
and intriguing to an audience as the use of different fonts added to the overall layout and look of
the magazines.
 When making our preliminary task we did not worry about
the layout and just placed things were we thought looked
right. Whereas in our final products we made sure we had
researched into the layout of music magazines to make our
products look as realistic as we could with the time we had.
