This document summarizes how the candidate researched existing soap operas like Skins, EastEnders, Hollyoaks, and Coronation Street to develop their own soap opera for a class project. 3. 1 While I was planning to start my work I decided to look at existing soaps that I could use to base my piece
on and to make it look realistic for the channel I wish for it to be on. Existing soaps I researched:

We had to make our work look authentic as possible. This helped when we did some research on existing
soaps, as we could really understand the importance of camera work and shot types.
