Scenes shot inside a home show worn furnishings that suggest it is old and the family is not wealthy. A woman in the home appears relaxed but the surroundings indicate the house has not been redecorated for years.

3. This soap is set in the East end of London, you can tell this by the name of the soap and in the opening credits you can see the O2 arena. When is it set? Were is it set? This soap is set in modern day and you can see this by the O2 arena and the Tames that flows through London. You can also tell as the beginning of the opening credits show some boats sailing on the Tames which shows its set now.

4. From the music, what do we assume about the lifestyles of the characters? At the beginning of the opening credits, loud drums start the music. This brings across the feeling of tension, as the drums could represent the dramatic storylines. After the drums the music flows into slow, dreary piano music, which is quite simple. This could show the simplicity and slowness of the characters lives, which seem quite working class. At the end of the opening credits, there is a wind instrument played, which could represent the romanticism in the opera and also again the simplicity of the mixed storylines.

5. In the opening scene we were should a house, and we could tell by the things placed in the house what kind of people inhabited it. For example the blue bags on the floor, the football, and felt-tip pens show that a young boy must live there. Also there are pinks bags on the banister, this also shows there is a little girl there. These colours are stereotypically related to boys and girls and its easy for viewers to see what kind of house it is. Also, on the stairs as the camera pans up, we can see teddies and pink fluffy things scattered on the stairs. The carpet is an old, worn down greeny colour which shows they have been used alot and that its an old house. The banister is also worn down and looks like it has seen better days, which also refers to how old the house is.

6. The camera then moves to a mid shot of the woman that owns the house. You can see in the background the old wooden picture frames and thin strips of the wallpaper for the banister. This suggests the house hasn't been redecorated for a few years, which maybe due to her not being able to afford it or is maybe just very old fashioned. Also, clothes are strewn across the banister, which shows its a very relaxed environment and very middle class. In this next picture the man who is in the frame has a medium close up to show his shocked reaction, which shows he doesn’t want to be there and is trying to creep out. Also the can see by the patterns on the wallpaper and by the glass that its an old house, as the wallpaper is quite a dark colour from being worn down.

7. In this scene it is set in an old, greasy cafe, which is a contrast with the classy girl sat in the middle. Around her are builders eating breakfast so you can tell its early morning and its quite an old cafe. You can also tell by her sitting there you can see the tension as she nurses her cup of tea and stares at her phone like she is expecting an important phone call. As the camera changes from a side view to a medium close up we see her facial expressions which is quite nervous. In this screen shot she seems quite out of place as she looks very classy and presentable, but the contrast is the picture of the ketchup and mayo bottles and the dull brick wall behind her.

8. In this next scene, the man is sitting in quite a dark room which is quite mysterious. You can tell by the work in the room that he is a very high up man and has a very busy job. In the left hand corner there is a lamp that looks like it has been purposely pushed down so there is no light hitting one side his face which cast a a shadow and is quite intimidating. When I took this screen shot it showed us how we were almost spying on him as we are looking between two objects, which gives it another mysterious feeling. Also it gives the feeling that the whole thing is very secretive as its like we can only see half the picture and we don't actually know the full that's going on.
