Who would be the audience
for your media product?
• I think my product will appeal to the 10-19 teen audience, and to
both girls and boys.
• My research included equal numbers of boys and girls and both
preferred to read about male bands, so this should appeal to both
• The colour scheme is fairly conventional for a rock magazine aimed
at a younger audience without the more subtle colouring that can
be seen in magazines aimed at an older audience
• Although I was writing about an all male band
I tried to make them appear more “female
friendly” by showing that Chris has a son who
is important to him
• I kept the language simple and sentence length
short to make the magazine more accessible to a
younger audience
• I didn’t attempt to make it appeal to a particular
social class or ethnic group as rock music, in its
different forms appeal to a wide audience
• However teens from middle class homes would
probably identify most easily with the band
members as portrayed in the article
Audience Profile
• Age 10-19
• Male and female
• All ethnic groups
• Mainly middle class
Question 5

Wau4&feature=youtu.be
What have you learnt
about technologies
from the process of
construction?
Mac
O I found using a Mac difficult at first as I
had never used one before.
O After a while I learnt some key skills like
screenshots which was useful for the blog
and taking pictures of how to do things.
O I now prefer Mac to Windows
Powerpoint/Word
O I used Word for the article which I was
fairly confident with
O I already knew how to do things like
spellcheck but I did learn how to use the
dictionary function.
O Due to the fact I couldn’t access the full
features of WordPress , I had to use
PowerPoint for my blog
O Again I was already confident with
PowerPoint
QuickTime Player
O I used this in my blog to record my
evaluation and some of my research.
O The things I learnt include audio recording
and screen recording with audio.
O There is an example of me using this in
the video
Photoshop
O this was the most difficult technology I used
O I had to use two different versions CS4 at
College and elements 11 at home
O I learnt how to select page size, unlocking
layers, placing images, outerglow, strokes,
magic wand, lasso tool, red eye removal tool,
brush tool, gradient tool and horizontal type
tool.
O I also learnt how to merge layers together
O Examples of this are in the video
Example video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBAlL7
GaD_4
InDesign
O I found this easier to use than PhotoShop
O I learnt how to make a double spread and
make layers
O I also learnt to make different boxes for
example quotes, columns and pictures
O In the article I also used textwrap which
made it easier to organise the article.
