2. I thought this question is
important as I want my
magazine to be aimed
at both males and
females, meaning
there is a wider target
audience. In my case
there were more males
filling out my survey
than females as this
was my intention in the
first place.
3. I tried to target the
survey at teenagers
which was the main
aim but as you can
see there were the
odd young adults
that filled out my
survey which made
interesting as I found
out what interested
them in a magazine
which helped me
create a wider target
audience.
4. I wanted to pick a
certain genre
that was
common in a
certain age group
and this question
allowed me to
narrow it down
to rap, rock and
grime. Rap
turned out to be
the most popular
pick out of the 3.
5. Once I got the idea of
what my target
audience was and
what genre it should
be in I thought to
myself that the next
step would be to pick
the colour scheme.
The most common
colour the audience
picked was Black and
white, I tried it out
and personally didn’t
like it so I changed it
to grey and white
which suited.
6. Then I wanted to
narrow it down
what the main
image should be
on the front
cover , and as
you can see the
most popular
answer was a
single artist
which I chose to
do.
7. After I had my
colour scheme
and main image
sorted out, I
decided to ask
about the title
of the magazine
and ‘ Rap Era’
was the highest
voted one.
8. Once I chose the
qualities of the
front cover I
focused on the
double page
spread and
decided to make
the main content
of the double page
spread to be an
interview with a
rapper as this was
the most popular
answer.
9. Now I had to
decide what my
main artist
would be called
and this I chose
based on the
results of the
question which
was ‘ Rick Solus’.
