1. 6. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing the product?
I went through a long and hard process to
create my final product. Although I was
only required to do three pages, a lot of
time went into it.
I had to use many programmes that I had
never used before or was not familiar
with.
2. SLR Camera
I was not particularly familiar with an SLR
camera as I had never used it before apart
from in some media classes. I found it easy to
use as it would automatically focus on my
models face or any particular thing I wished
for it to focus on. The interior setting I used
was helpful as the brightness in the room was
just right whereas if I intended on using an
exterior setting I would had come across many
lighting issues e.g. rainy day.
3. Websites and programmes
To edit some pictures I used Pixlr.com which I was
very familiar with as I often use that website to
edit my pictures.
However, I had never used Photoshop as it was
very complicated to understand. After
downloading the 30 day trial for Photoshop CS6 I
got used to the programme over a few days as I
experimented with it and watched many YouTube
videos to do things like getting rid of a
background.

5. Showcasing my research
I used many websites to showcase my research. One
that I used a lot was Prezi which was very effective as it
offered many templates and was easy to function.
I also used Slideshare which was even easier as most
of the research I did was done on powerpoint therefore
all that was required was to upload my work onto the
website and embed it onto Wikispaces.
To showcase my questionnaire and research from it I
used Microsoft Excel which I used on many occasions
especially during ICT in secondary school.
8. Showcasing my research
The newest web applications that I learnt to use were Powtoon and
Youtube. As I have never made my own video before I found it
difficult to get used to creating Youtube presentation however after
watching a few examples I learnt my way around it. Powtoon was
fairly easy to use as it was basic and was similar to Prezi.
The main web application that I got extremely used to was
Wikispaces. The website was very easy to get around with.
Uploading images was simple and so was embedding presentations.
However in the beginning I did come across some problems such as
uploading other peoples work rather than mine because I saved my
work as similar title to my peers. I fixed this problem by saving all
my work with my name in capital letters in the beginning so that in
future no one would upload my work and vice versa.
