This document discusses how a music magazine represents its target audience. The magazine targets social class ABC1, ages 16-30. It uses a young, attractive female model on the cover looking directly at the camera to draw in both male and female readers. Throughout the magazine, models are dressed in fashionable, youthful clothing like Aztec prints to appeal to readers. Photos show the artist both seriously and laughing to portray her as a normal person who doesn't care what others think. The tone of writing aims to inspire readers to be themselves.

1. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My music magazine is representing the representation of R’n’B. The social class that I
was aiming my magazine at was ABC1, I chose this social class and stuck to it
because all music magazines published in the magazine industry are the social class of
ABC1 because to be able to buy a magazine you need at least a spare £5 to buy it and
some people may not have that money spare because other things are more important.
In my magazine I used a young model to represent my social group who is aimed at
16-30 year olds, also it will attract male and female attention, male attention as my
model is young and attractive.
In my front cover she is looking straight into the camera which will draw my
audience in, the difference from a model on the front cover not looking directly at the
camera gives the audience the idea that they cannot interact with them through the
magazine. All magazines have their model looking directly at the camera.
The Colour I colour swatched from edited picture where you can see above, I done
this because it links my entire magazine together and also this greeny blue colour is a
young colour, it can draw both male and females to my magazine as this magazine is
aimed towards them.
Throughout my magazine my models costumes are representing my target audience
and genre, they are doing this by wearing up to date fashion, I have chosen to dress
my model in stripped shorts and an Aztec top, I have done his as Aztec fashion is very

2. in and all the girls and boys are wearing it in today’s society, this will make my
audience want to read my magazine because they can find out where they may be able
to buy clothes to look like them because they are their idol etc.I have also put my
artist in a black dress as girls can always pull off a black dress whatever the occasion
is, you can make them look smart dress them up with jewellery or keep it simple I
have chosen to keep it simple as I don’t want to make it look too much as on my front
cover she is going to be wearing the black dress.
I have captured my artist in many different poses, I have captured her being serious
and looking straight at the camera and others I have caught her off peak where she is
laughing and sticking her tongue out to show that she has a fun to side and this is the
side she wants people to make. She want’s people to see that she can ‘let her hair
down’.
In my article I made my model come across as in a way she didn’t care what people
thought of her and she’s just a normal person, I done this because the age my
magazine is targeted at may take into account what other people say about them so if
they look up to them and they are their idol my article with give them inspiration to be
like them. I haven’t written my article in a serious tone but a tone to show that she
isn’t serious but just enjoying herself.
