Q2:How does your media product represent particular social groups?
I made sure my
model was wearing
a jumper because it
looks classy, smart
and cool throughout
my music
magazine. The
social group I
wanted to focus on
when picking the
clothing was
teenagers/young
adults.
I made sure the
model was smiling
because I wanted the
audience to think the
artist was happy and
some music
magazines in these
years are really
serious and it just
doesn't fit right
within there
magazine.
I used a pose shot to create
cockiness this is so it targets
the teenagers and young
adults that are insecure and
cocky about it. It makes them
feel better.
I made him wear the watch to
connote class and smart and
coolness as this appeals to all the
young adults who want to be cool
smart and classy, they look at this
image and then take not of what to
wear.
My magazine focuses on the younger social group as my magazine looks classy younger male as he looks cocky with his pose shot
and his sarcastic smile, he is wearing the clothing to represent smartness as he is wearing a grey jumper with a black jumper, this is
a sign of coolness as it looks perfect within my magazine. My magazine will be read by people in education and will be in college and
things like that so then the people who read it will pass it around there social group and it will get read by more people everyday. The
genre that I chose within my magazine is the house genre, that means that its chilled and cool because house is just a steady paced
type of music. My magazine will feature free tickets to concerts.
I have chosen this outfit because it looks
trendy because of the stars on it, it looks
perfect for a house magazine, I think this
model defiantly fits into the category of the
house genre.
He is doing a pose shot to yet again act cocky
he is wearing the wrist wear to make him look
classy the starred t-shirt makes him look
house style as it has a mesh material.
When I did my researching I tried to find
pose shots, I tried to find a cocky look like
there all for themselves and better than
everyone, I found ones with a little smirk
and things like that to give the cocky look. I
did this so it applies to sex’s and give off
the impression that this magazine is to
anybody but mainly the ages between 16
and 27 due to it been the house genre
magazine.
I have included big artists so that the
audience who are reading my
magazine know who I'm talking about
and want to buy the magazine as it’s
the people they look up too. The main
artists that I have placed on my
magazine are based to please my
target audience and the house/ dance
social groups.
What age are you?
What Gender are you?
What genre would you say that my media product relates to?
What social group would you say my media product comes under?
Does my media product show consistency throughout?
Would you read my magazine?
In what ways could I change my music magazine?
