This document summarizes the author's trip to Poland in 2003 to attend the International Council of Archives seminar in Warsaw and Krakow. Over the four day seminar, archivists from across Europe and a few from other regions met to discuss strategies for acquiring archival materials, access and outreach. The author enjoyed touring historic sites in both cities like Wilanow Castle and the Old Town in Warsaw, and Wawel Hill and St. Mary's Church in Krakow. The author was able to make contacts with many of the other archivists in attendance and gained an appreciation for Polish history, culture and the resilience of its people.
