[Webinar with Oceane Consulting] Using Vaadin to Integrate Nuxeo and Liferay Nuxeo
Liferay delivers external-facing content for portals, publishing, content, and collaboration, and the Nuxeo Platform offers a content repository to manage internal-facing content. Both Nuxeo and Liferay are open source, Java-based, standards-compliant platforms, so an integration between them provides a flexible solution with a single, reliable source of content. With this integration, content follows its lifecycle in the Nuxeo Platform, and Liferay serves as a front-end.
Nuxeo SI Partner Océane Consulting has built and implemented this integration for many of their customers, and Laurent Dreuillat, CTO, will tell us what they’ve learned from the experience. He will discuss the benefits and tradeoffs of the different integration approaches, including:
A standards-based Liferay integration with OpenSocial and CMIS, and Building custom Liferay portlets using Vaadin and the Nuxeo Content Automation API.
This slideshow accompanies our webinar detailing the content management system (CMS) of the future. We review in detail the past, present and future of CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Sitecore and more and how the future lies with headless, decoupled CMS platforms, which allow for greater front-end flexibility, enhanced security and greater scalability for website owners.

Shift Remote FRONTEND: Optimizing Content Management with the Headless CMS - ...Shift Conference
Traditional CMS mix content with the frontend code (which is usually stack specific), and this limits the content to just the application it is built upon. With the headless CMS, the frontend component of the CMS is decoupled from the app, content becomes independent, and you don't have to worry about how and where the content gets displayed but instead just storage and delivery of structured content. This content can then be served on different applications any time across all platforms via REST/ GraphQL APIs (JSON, XML) or the Git workflow while maintaining the speed, security, and scalability of the JAMstack architecture. In this talk, Bolaji will show you how content management can be optimized using the headless CMS to ensure the reusability of content across several digital platforms (web, mobile, smartwatches, VR headsets or home assistants).

What does content management mean to technical communicators? It's no mystery! The real core of content management is an organized way of creating, collecting, managing and delivering content. Using a business process based on requirements, software supports business goals. Software is a part of the implementation, not the foundation. This session takes a high level view of the content management pieces and how they work together in a system.

Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.
