5. Ancestry gives me 85% European. While The Other
2 Companies Give Me 90%
6. Regional Results Are Far Less Accurate. The Eastern
European Result is Close to Accurate For My Aunt
7. The Autosomal DNA Results Have Some Validity. A
Facebook Friend In Iran Got 100% Middle Eastern
At Family Tree DNA. Many of My Non Ethnically
Mixed US Matches Are 100% European
8. These companies are good at estimating the percentage of DNA at a
continental level
Somewhat good at a regional level (e.g. Eastern Europe and Northern Europe)
They are not so good at a sub-regional level (e.g. Britain and Ireland)
They are also good at estimating percentages for endogmas groups
They have difficulty with trace amounts of DNA. Trace amounts may be
significant or not?
I found that the results can be around 5 percentage points off
I would take results within that 5 percentage points with a grain of salt
The ethnicity results may provide you with some information about your origins
you didn’t know or may not tell you anything you didn’t already know?
