Gen 1:1-3
1In the beginning God created the heaven and
the earth.
2And the earth was without form, and void; and
darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the
Spirit of God moved upon the face of the
waters.

2. 3And God said, Let there be light: and there
was light.
I. Creator- 1:1 God created
Only a Biblical faith can believe in the Creator.
Evolution has belief but no faith.
They use analogy to imagine, “create” is a
synonym for “make”.
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the
worlds were framed by the word of God, so that

which do appear.
Creation is not an accident. The Creator is
responsible for it, and He has a name, God.
II. Container- 1:1 the heaven and the earth
More information than needed, but enough to
quench curiosity.
Ps 115:16 The heaven, even the heavens, are
the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the
children of men.

Was: the past tense of the Latin root meaning
“to be” or “to exist” (is in English)
In the Bible “was” means a change in
something before it.
It is used 17 times in the first 31 verses of
the Bible.
