Essays On The Industrial Revolution
Writing an essay on the topic of the Industrial Revolution is undoubtedly a challenging task that
requires careful research, critical analysis, and a comprehensive understanding of historical,
economic, and social aspects. The Industrial Revolution, spanning the 18th and 19th centuries,
marked a profound transformation in human society, bringing about significant changes in
technology, production methods, and the socio-economic landscape.
One of the challenges in crafting an essay on this subject is the vast scope of the Industrial
Revolution itself. From the mechanization of industries to the impact on labor, urbanization, and
global trade, there are numerous dimensions to consider. The essay should not only provide a
chronological account of key events but also delve into the underlying causes, consequences,
and the varied experiences of different regions and social classes.
Furthermore, an effective essay on the Industrial Revolution requires the ability to critically
analyze historical sources, evaluate their reliability, and present a nuanced perspective. The
interconnectedness of economic, technological, and societal changes during this period demands
a comprehensive approach that goes beyond a mere recounting of facts.
Addressing the complexities of the Industrial Revolution also involves exploring the ethical
implications of industrialization, such as the exploitation of labor, environmental degradation,
and the unequal distribution of wealth. A successful essay must navigate these ethical
considerations with sensitivity and offer a balanced evaluation of the historical developments.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the Industrial Revolution is a formidable task that demands
meticulous research, analytical skills, and the ability to synthesize information from diverse
sources. Crafting a compelling narrative that captures the multifaceted nature of this pivotal
historical period requires time, dedication, and a deep understanding of the subject matter.

The Theory Of Runaway Ramps On A Declining Road
Surface
Civil engineers formed the physical concept of runaway ramps on a declining road
surface in order to enhance the safety for passengers in the rare situation a brake
failure occurs; this can be associated to the investigation into braking distance in
relation to the coefficient of friction. Physics particularly focuses on a subject
otherwise known as motion; this has many practical applications in modern society.
One of which is in relation to vehicles and the elements of physics that reason the
stopping distance of the vehicle. Theories have been devised in order to develop an
understanding as to how and why a vehicle reaches rest even without the intervention
of human force. The following investigation analyses the braking distances of the
vehicle on multiple different surfaces. To begin with, the investigation attempts to
replicate the realistic situation of a runaway ramp found on declining road
surfaces in the effort to allow optimal safety in the circumstance of brake failure.
The objective of the ramp is to provide an adjacent surface deviating from the main
section of the road that acts as a braking system for the vehicle [1]; this is completed
through the utilisation of different surfaces such as gravel or sand (see Appendix
1.1). This specifically is referred to as the arrester bed, one of multiple methods of a
runaway ramp utilised world wide and the individual system relevant to the
investigation. Physical concepts are apparent through the study of runaway ramps,
What Role Did Gameball Play In The Elizabethan Era
Some games played by Elizabethan was archery, tag, battledore, bowls, culf, and
gameball. Archery is very popular sport during her time and still is.Tag was a
game played by kids just like it is today where one person is it and chases everyone
and tries to tag them. Battledore is like the modern day badminton where a game

sport in which the objective is to roll biased balls so that they stop close to a
smaller ball called a jack .Gameball is just like the modern day game football. This

The time she ruled in was named the Elizabethan Age after her. In her reign she
faced three main wars. They were: The Desmond Rebellion, the English War against
Spain and the Tyrone Rebellion. The English war against Spain lasted from 1585
1603 (18 years). The Spanish believed that Elizabeth, because she was Protestant, was
a heretic and that she should be disposed of. They wanted England under their
control, so that they could force them back into Catholicism. Fortunately for
Elizabeth, the Spanish Armada was defeated.
The weapons during her time are nothing like what we have today. The crossbow

fighters because of the wide choice to pick from for different types of wars.Once the
crossbow was invented it changed the way of fighting. You could be hidden and

History And Safety Regulations Of Ancient Egyptian Women
Menstruation is a natural and necessary process that has been occurring since human
beings can remember. Because of this necessary process, forms of sanitary
protection have been concocted to meet the needs of women to care for themselves
during their menstrual bleeding period. There have been numerous approaches used
by women from all over the world and over the years. Of the numerous materials,
used to collect and dispose of menstrual waste, two have remained most popular, the
pad and the tampon. While many might use, and be familiar with their use in their
menstrual hygiene, not much is known about what is put in or on them and the
regulations surrounding them. This paper hopes to shed a light on the history and
safety regulations surrounding the popular menstrual hygiene products pads and
tampons. This papers hopes to answer whether these products are safe.
Some of the earliest records we have concerning menstrual hygiene solutions are
those of ancient Egyptian women. Egyptian records, that date back to the 15th
century B.C., reveal that women, often wealthy, used internal plugs made from
soft papyrus or wool. Poorer women, who might not have been able to afford soft
papyrus or wool were recorded to have used softened aquatic grasses (Farage 101).
Their Greek counterparts, as written by Hippocrates, a famous ancient Greek
physician, were said to have created internal plugs as well from lint wrapped around
a small piece of wood. The ancient Romans, another civilized

We re all scared. But we must tell the truth about what s happening and challenge
people to do something to prevent it Paul Ehrlich. (Leahy,2013) The future of our
planet has been a great concern for the global community for many years. In their
article Can a Collapse of Global Civilisation be Avoided? Paul and Anne Ehrlich
explore the current ecological and socio cultural trends that they believe, if left
untreated, will lead to the inevitable collapse. Unlike past civilizations, the modern
global community has the knowledge, skills and technologies to solve the several
pressing issues Ehrlich presents in this article. So what are those issues? Since the

There are at least two billion people are hungry or malnourished and the Food and
Agriculture Organisation estimates that food production will need to increase by
70% (FAO Report, 2009) to keep up with the demands of a growing population.
Overconsumption also contributes to the widening gap. In fact, if every person
consumed resources at a US level, four to five more earths would be needed!
(Ehrlich, 2013)The article also poses the question of how best to humanely restrict
population growth. It is suggested that women should be provided with access to
education and all sexually active people are provided with contraception and access
to abortions, a decision that would meet much opposition from religious
organisations. Finally, Ehrlich discusses the role of the scientific community and
the need for global cooperation if anything is to be done. The need for better
education is greatly emphasised, not only for the public but also for governments
and economists. Collaboration between social scientists and natural scientists is
suggested in order to better understand how to facilitate the mobilization of society
that is required to solve these issues on a global level. Public myths such as the
saving powers of technological innovation need to be broken and an emphasis placed
on developing foresight intelligence , which Ehrlich claims will provide the long term

The s Four Stages Of Thought
Although good health is generally the norm in emerging adulthood, low birthrate,
under nutrition in infancy and rapid weight gain in early childhood tend to result
in shorter height, reduced body functioning and higher risks of disease (Berger,
2014, p. 394). Fertility is still an optimal level as it always was, however families
are being started almost a decade later than they used to. Emerging adults are riskier
and have more accidents, however, due to their overall good healthy, they are
usually discharged from the hospital rather quickly. In sports, the thrill overwhelms
reason (Berger, 2014, p. 398). Drug and alcohol abuse are exciting in emerging
adults, reaching it s peak attraction during college and declining sharply around age
20. A fifth state of though that would follow Piaget s four stages of thought is called
postformal thought. Post formal tinkers take a more flexible and comprehensive
approach, using forethought, noting difficulties and anticipating problems, not
denying, avoiding or procrastinating, (Berger, 2014, p. 400). Stereotype threat, which
is the possibility that one s appearance or behavior will be misread to confirm
another persons over simplified, prejudice attitudes, can be a real problem on
emerging adults who apply to and attend college. College attendance is rapidly
increasing in developing nations, as it is apparent that tertiary education improves
health productivity and income. (Berger, 2014, p. 408). During emerging adulthood,

The Effect Of Velashape Cellulite On The Body
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Dallas, Texas) ABCNews.com recently reported that cellulite affects 90 percent of
women at one time or another in their lives, even those who are in great shape and
remain at a healthy weight. This common problem arises when fat deposits in the
body make their way through connective tissue under the skin, and maybe the results
of hormonal issues, inadequate muscle tone and exercise, excess fat and/or poor
circulation. Laserium Med Spa now offers VelaShape Cellulite Reduction for
individuals wishing to remove these unsightly bumps.
VelaShape helps to improve the texture of the patient s skin, while targeting localized
fat deposits and reducing the appearance of cellulite. VelaShape remains the only
device currently cleared by the FDA for reducing cellulite and firming the skin, and it
effectively slims, shapes and contours the body. Patients begin to see results
following the initial treatment, although they are most apparent six to eight weeks
after treatment is complete, Kira Gill, spokesperson for Laserium Med Spa,
announces. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Less connective tissue is found in those areas, making it easier for fat deposits to
make their way to the skin s surface. In addition, estrogen levels in a female s body
decrease with time, and this often leads to poor circulation, a decline in collagen
production and the deterioration of connective tissue. All can lead to the appearance of
State Theatre Essay
At a hundred and four years old, the State Theatre still stands as one of Bay City s
most recognizable landmarks. Despite floods, fires, and a century s worth of history,
the theater proudly remains and operates on Washington Street. Dozens of events are
put on there each year. Orchestras, Vaudeville, various musical groups, and
comedians are just a few of the thousands of acts that have been housed within its
walls. The building inside has been remodeled various times over the last few
decades, and each time parts of the past have been found. Though there s a haunting
presence, the six hundred seat house is still full for most events. The theater may not

C. Howard Crane renovated the theater to resemble a Mayan Temple in 1930, and
the theater reopened as The Bay (Greene). The theater had been purchased by
Butterfield Theater chain and Crane was extensively hired by the company to
renovate the theater into its new exotic design. The eventual cost of the upgrading
is said to have been $100,000. Crane successfully designed a Mayan theme through
out the entire building (LaLonde). Being under new ownership the theater was also
under new management. The new theater manager was known as Floyd Ackerman,
and it was said the theater was equivalent to a spouse for him with how much time
he put into it. Ackerman got so caught up in his work he d find himself going to the
bank in the late hours of the night or even after late night shows. On December 16,
1943 while going to the bank after a late night show, he was murdered by Johnny

theater. By 1957 not as much excitement had happened, besides the theater being
renamed again and for the final time by the Butterfield owners to The State Theatre

Knightly Behavior And The Chivalric Code Analysis
In all of the stories we have read so far, a major theme that has been constantly
discussed is Knightly Behavior and the Chivalric Code. In what we have read so far
Arthur and his knights have displayed these themes multiple times throughout. The
knights were held to a much higher regard than many other people during this time.
In Monty Python, those two themes were practically unheard of. In this film Arthur
and his knights were made out to be idiots running around looking for the holy grail.
The film made a mockery of almost everything that arthur and his knights went
through. in the film the opening scene starts off as Arthur gallops out of the fog
while his squire follows behind him smacking two coconuts together mocking the fact

James Meredith Impact On Civil Life
When James Meredith recalled the events that happened on Sept. 20, 1962, all he
said was I considered myself engaged in a war from day one (James Meredith

and that includes the town of Oxford, Mississippi. The University of Mississippi(Ole

Jack Kerouac’s The Dharma Bums Essay
Jack Kerouac s The Dharma Bums
Jack Kerouac s The Dharma Bums does not fall too far from a basic description of
his life. Kerouac spent the bulk of his writing career riding trains from city to city,
meeting people and writing books and poetry. He was among the premier writers of
the Beat Generation, a group of primarily urban poets and writers who put the basics
of life and their spiritual nuances into poetry with a beat. The book, The Dharma
Bums, is a window into the daily structure of the Beat Generation.
Kerouac wrote The Dharma Bums while living the life of a bum, riding from city to
city as a stowaway on various trains. He used an old portable typewriter that fed from

He is almost always meticulous in certain aspects of a given scene while leaving out
what one would think are important details. However, the descriptions given are
always enough to reveal a full, vivid picture of moments, whether only gestures are
described or wall paper.
The various scenes of the book are often unexpected, but the matter of fact style of
writing usually diffuses. Kerouac creates such a familiarity with his readers that it
becomes assumed that any place unusual to the reader is typical for him, and in
this way he pulls the reader further into this world of the Beat Generation.
Oftentimes the scenes are set in the cramped places such as boxcars and single
room shacks frequented by Ray and his friends. Other times the scenes are places
like cafe s and restaurants around San Francisco, San Diego, and other, usually
Californian, cities; however some of Kerouac s most effective place descriptions
throughout The Dharma Bums are found in the stories of other places told by those
Ray meets, rather than where he actually goes.
Among the most poignant aspects of The Dharma Bums is Kerouac s ability to use
long narratives to pull his readers into the experiences of the characters. The Dharma
Bums is replete with the explanation of the experiences of ancient Zen Buddhist
thinkers and their experiences as they search for enlightenment. Kerouac constantly
accesses the ancient writings of Zen Buddhist monks. Using such writings as a

The House Of The Scorpions Analysis
Throughout both The House of the Scorpions and On the Doctrine of the Feeling
of Power, there are many differences. These two articles are like comparing apples
to broccoli as Mrs. White, my eighth grade gifted English teacher, puts it. However,
once you dig down deeper into the meaning of these writings, you can find many
similarities not easily seen on the surface. Conceiving of power, as Nietzsche puts
it, is more of a deceitful process. Nietzsche s process might be more for someone who
is looked at with little power. In other words, his process is more intended for power
hungry people. I believe that power should be obtained in respect and harmony.

One way that people use benefiting is, if someone is running for class president or
any other thing that is controlled by the people s vote then the runner might hand

people on their side so they can win the election against their opponent enemy.
Obviously, they are not doing this in a negative way, all they are thinking about is
winning. This shows that sometimes you can be deceitful without even realizing
it. An example of pain is when a parent is punishing their child. The parent hates
this process, but they know it is the best thing to do for their child. All they want is
to mature their child into a well formed human being. As you can see, Nietzsche s
ways are used in everyday life without us even knowing it. As you can see, there
are many more similarities than seen on the surface. Both novels express high
levels of power, and how to gain that power. Both show lots of symbolism. Now you
can see why it is better not judge a book or article by its

a logarithmic function.
An acid and base are distinguished by the negative hydrogen concentration in a
substance. If a substances loses its hydrogen concentration, it is more acidic. If a
substance accepts more hydrogen, it is considered a base. The pH scale operates as a
logarithmic function because the value changed 10x or greater. A pH of 3 is 10x

Do Animals Dream Research Paper
Do Animals Dream Introduction: Having various animals growing up I have
always wondered what they were doing while they slept. Did they just lay there in
a deep sleep or could they have the capability of having a dream? This is a question
I have never answered over the years and would like to explore now to find out the
answer. I ve watched different pets throughout my life while they slept but could
never tell if they were dreaming. I noticed that different kinds of animals sleep in
different positions and I ask myself, does this effect if animals dream? When I was
younger, I had several cats, some inside and some outside, and they all acted
differently. The cats who stayed indoor would find a corner or something soft to...

I could be wrong but who knows I could be right. When Robin was five years old
she got two hamsters which were very interesting. They slept all day long and were
up all night long. They slept on each other in every weird position they could come
up with. They were always very still while they slept so I personally don t think
they dreamed. Shortly after we got the hamsters they died so we got our next pet
which were some goldfish. I would like to tell you about them but they died also
two days after we got them. Our last pet, which has survived, is a Chihuahua. She
is the funniest little dog that there is. She does sleep a lot, either on the couch,
under the computer and at night, she has to be next to a human body. She will
bark and even move while she sleeps which I believe is a sign of her dreaming
about something. If she moved as much as she does when she is awake she would
be hilarious when she slept but unfortunately she doesn t. My experience with all
my pets throughout the years have given me the curiosity of whether they were
dreaming or not. Although, I have observed all my pets sleeping, I still have
questions that I don t know the answers to. This is the purpose of my paper, to find
those answers. Questions that I would like to find out are Do all animals dream or
just some or maybe none at all? How can you tell if animals are dreaming or just
sleeping? If you

The first day you arrive at COTA (Correction Officer Training Academy) you
realize your world is now different and will never be the same. You will learn things,
see things and hear things like you never have before. The first thing you realize is
there is more structure in this profession then you realize. You will learn of a rank
structure from sergeant, lieutenant, captain and even major. Now for those who have
militarybackground or who grew up in a military family it is an easy transition but
for someone like me who has never been around that type of structure it took some
getting used to. I have had jobs with bosses like everyone else has but this
environment is completely different. The first thing you are taught is how important
The Plan For New Homes
With the economic crash that started in 2007 and continued for a couple years
countless men and woman lost their jobs and homes. Due in part to the ability to over
extend themselves they were maxed out in their credit to debt ratios, struggling just
to make ends meet. Thankfully, with the downfall they experienced, these foreclosure
and short sell victims have finally been able to bounce back. Many today are
beginning to enter back into the housing market looking for new homes, although this
time instead of trying to find the max they can afford, they are now more concerned
with the payment they can afford.
These newly educated buyers have learned a few ways to come back stronger than
ever and stay on top thanks to their shortcomings from the past. One of such ways
is by a federal program called The back to work program , which helps out those
who lost their homes due to the crash. This program is federally insured and offers
buyers the second chance they need in as little as 12 months after a foreclosure or
bankruptcy. The buyer must be able to prove that there was at least a 20% loss in
income before the action took place as well. Although many if the victims are afraid
to get back into the game, they are finding more and better ways than ever before.
Another possibility that has become ever increasingly popular is the rent to own
option. Rent to own is really a lease option, which means that the buyer gets the home
now and pays monthly rent for a predetermined amount of
John Locke And His Ideas Of Rebellion During The
English...
John Locke was an English writer, and his writings were based on the events that
took place during the Glorious Revolution in England in 1689, when the people of
England overthrew King James II. John Locke was interestingly enough, brought
up in a loyalist and Evangelical family. He was born to a very wealthy family, and
received much prestige in Oxford for his connections to the higher ups. Locke
presented his ideas of rebellion during the English civil war which took place in the
mid 1600s, in favor of the revolts against the King s rule in England at the time. John
Locke graduated with a degree in medicine from Oxford University.
He spent his entire life living in England until he was exiled to Holland, after the
English government found his writings on the freedom from religion to be defiant of
the king s authority. The main idea that Locke was trying to establish was that
rebellions against tyrannical governments should be viewed in a respected eye from
the rest of the world. He used the Treatises of Government to differentiate the rule of
a civil government and an uncivil government. Without the influence of a rebellious
Englishman there may never have been the United States of America.
Some of the founding fathers have been firm believers in the ideas posed in John
Locke s Second Treatise of Government . The one idea that can be seen quite clearly
is the complete dissenting stance taken by Locke on the thought of monarchy in civil
government. Absolute monarchy,
Gian Lorenzo Bernini Research Paper
Gian Lorenzo Bernini was a renowned Italian sculptor in the 16th and 17th century.
His first works were inspired by antique classic sculpture, but he later became
influenced by the Counter Reformation, a movement within the Catholic Church that
decided the arts should communicate religious themes (New World Encyclopedia).
Using primarily marble, Bernini created dynamic, large scale sculptures that were
meant to be viewed from all sides, to add a dimension of energy and movement to
his pieces. He also used light manipulation to dramatically alter the mood of a piece (
Gian Lorenzo Bernini Style and Technique ). Bernini, continuously being inspired by
his cultural upbringing, created pieces that centralized around religion. By utilizing
Wisdom In Plato s The Apology
Wisdom is a particular and complicated concept to explain and understand mainly
because different people have different ideas of what it is. In the past, wisdom was
associated with elderlies who had experienced a lot through their life journey.
Therefore, they were knowledgeable , and they were considered important decision
makers in regards of matters in the society. Human wisdomis not simply knowing
something or claiming to know something. Many may claim that they know things
beyond what they are experts on, which actually shows an arrogant behavior. A wise
man is rather a man who knows humility. In fact, taking Socrates example in
consideration, as written by Platoin The Apology, a truly wise man is who knows that
he is not wise.
Today, a lot of important and successful people like to claim that they possess
wisdom. To be accurate, their behavior is not much different from the one of many
important Athenians in Socrates time. In fact, life repeats itself in a way. People
who are blinded by the materialistic and futil sides of life, ... Show more content on

He never claimed to know everything, even though he knew a whole lot about
many aspects of life. He did not have the type of education with which we are
blessed today; however, he spent most of his days trying to educate himself in
different areas. He read poetry, and even wrote poems of his own. He learnt on his
own how to build things out of wood, shells, and even bottle corks. His beautiful
creations were pure art; therefore, he was an artist. After he retired, he decided to
work in an art gallery, always eager to learn more, but never claiming to know more

wise man, then he was definitely one. In fact, he believed in inner qualities like

Civil Rights Movement in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper
Lee
To Kill a Mockingbird was a 1960 s novel written by the author Harper Lee from
Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement which inspired the theme of her book;
racism. The book is set in the 1930 s in Maycomb which is a very poor town. The
book is written in the view of Jean Louise Scout Finch a 6 year old girl who is the
son of lawyer Atticus Finch and has a brother called Jem. They are close
neighbours to the dreaded Radley family and especially Boo Radley the son who
they are terrified of. Boo has been judged unfairly by the whole town of Maycomb
because no one had seen him in years, people were just going along with old wives
tales about him stabbing his mother in the leg. This unfair judgement links in with the
racial prejudice that occurs in Maycomb when black peopleare treated poorly just
because of their colour.
Racism and Segregation happens throughout the book for example when Scout is
at school and her teacher Miss Caroline finds out Scout can read she tells her she
can t read because the rest of the class cant, she gets off to a bad start with Miss
Caroline when she tries to explain Walter Cunningham can t afford anything
because his family are very poor which gets her in trouble. Also Miss Gates who is
very hypocritical says she condemns what Hitler is doing to the Jews which would
make you think she believes in racial equality but then she says she doesn t want
blacks to get equal rights and they shouldn t be treated fairly.

Positive Male Role Model
The Impact Of Positive Male Role Models A Comprehensive Analysis Role models
are essential for the development of an individual; particularly for young males.
One of the leading sources of inspiration and innovation for an individual is
typically their father. For this reason, the role of the father is considered one of the
most important ones there is for an individual. There are many benefits for an
individual to have a father figure including having someone to look up to and teach
them about various aspects of life. Furthermore, scholarly research has shown that
having a father figure is critical for individuals because of the impact it has on the
ability of an individual to develop their success in their various endeavors (Ho,
2014). Researchers also note that not having positive malerole models can have
substantial consequences for an individual as well including delinquency and
depression (Markowitz, 2016). There are many areas where having a positive male
role model can make a critical difference in the ¬¬life of an individual; especially
in their ability to succeed. For these reasons, having a positive male role model is
considered one of the most important types of relationship for an individual to have
throughout their years of development. This writing examines the importance of this
relationship as well as the various impacts it may have on the development and
success of an individual. The paternal relationship is different than the maternal

A Dictionary Of The English Language By Samuel
Johnson...
A Dictionary of the English Language by Samuel Johnson was done because Italian
and French academies produced many dictionaries of their own tongues and the
English century authors feared that their language would soon disappear because of
absence of authority. They believed that a dictionary would do a big change since it
will be a book that people will need to buy. They believed that Johnson, still an
unknown author, would do a great job in creating a good dictionary. Johnson accepted
and believed he would finish the dictionary in three years, but it took him nine in
total; yet the quantity and quality of work was excellent. Johnson made a dictionary
that it known for its size (which was forty thousand words), the illustrative quotations,
and the outstanding definitions. He had used quotations from the best English
writers, and most of the definitions are clear of any eccentricity.
The Preface to Shakespeare is an essay by Samuel Johnson that praises Shakespeare.
Johnson primarily praises Shakespeare for his honest interpretation of manners and
life. He likes how Shakespeare interpreted his character and based them on real men
and women; and how he connected tragedy and comedy and still show a good
representation on nature where there is good and evil, happy and sad moments. His
characters are not exaggerated like they are in other author s works and have real
common feelings that everyday people feel. He believes that Hamlet, Macbeth, and
other Shakespeare character can
Internet Security And The Security System
Business and people are using Internet for entertainment, e business and e commerce,

always been threats to the Internet Security. Internet security is major concern in field
of technology, because there are various personal, business and government data on
the Internet. Today every businesses and organizations have their own securitysystem
to reach their goal of information security. Internet security systems are created to
reduce cyber attack risks, reliability, maintain confidentiality, and compliance with
privacy laws and national securitylaws. However security standard that has been
made, and laws brought by government are not more enough to protect Internet

brought in action to protect Internet Security.
There are different kinds of security standards when integrating security approach in
new systems. Some government agencies and organizations use well established
standards while others companies make their own private security systems. Offsite

Geographic Segmentation Top management identified urban areas and metro cities as
their potential customers.
Demographic Segmentation Demographic segment is further divided into different
types.
1.Income Nano promoted this car as common man s car . They wanted this car to be
affordable to everyone. Thus it was initially priced at 1 lakh. So, Nano invariably
attracted low end and middle income people. It also attracted people who already

2.Age College going students, first time employers were their target segment.
College going student would like a buy a 4 wheeler instead of a 2 wheeler if it cost

their children to drive safe vehicle. Tata Nanois projected one of the safest cars in

Billy The Kid Copland

Copland s Billy The Kid features several similarities to the excerpt we studied from
Appalachian Spring. The simplicity of the piece represents the easiest to see of these
comparable aspects. Appalachian Spring does not contain much complex polyphony,
noticeably dissonant chords, or atonality. Instead, Copland creates a simple, pastoral
kind of music. Examples of this can be found throughout the piece, but the section
from 01:00 01:30 can be used as a representative sample. In fact, Copland wanted
this piece of Appalachian Spring to have a folksy air about it, and he achieves it by
the simplicity of his music.

Anne Hutchinson And The Scarlet Letter
Anne Hutchinson was a liberal religious leader who, like Hester, was punished for
going against the foundations of the Puritan establishment. She conducted meetings
in her home to discuss her strong and controversial religious convictions that went
against some of the standard Puritan views, and was subsequently banished from the
Massachusetts Bay Colony. I will use the texts A Report on the Trial of Mrs. Anne
Hutchinson, before the church in Boston, March, 1638 by Franklin Bowditch Dexter
and Magnalia Christi Americana by Cotton Matherto outline the importance of the
historical figure of Anne Hutchinson to The Scarlet Letterand to the novel s main
character, Hester Prynne. I will outline the common points and the striking differences

Several parallels can be drawn between Anne and Hester s personalities, such as
strength, independent thinking, defiance of Puritan beliefs, and confidence,
especially in the seemingly proud and dignified way they behaved during their
public trials. They were both considered threats to the foundations of the Puritan
establishment because they were challenging and stepping out of their rightful
place as women in a patriarchal society. Dexter s report on Anne s trial is a
historical document that supports the idea that being a woman in that society was
inherently condemning. On the first day of trial, John Cotton, English clergyman
at the Massachusetts Bay Colony, advises the women he believes have been
corrupted by Anne in the meetings she held to talk about religion. He says: Let not
the good you have received from her, make you to receive all for good that comes
from her; for you see she is but a Woman and many unsound and dangerous
principles are held by her . His words suggest that women and unreliable and the fact
that Anne is a woman takes away her credibility.
Another important similarity between Anne and Hester is the fact that each had a
close relationship with a Puritan churchman. Anne embraced the clergyman John
Cotton s preaching and became his disciple, and they ended up developing a strong
religious relationship. Hester, on the other hand, had a romantic relationship with the
minister Arthur Dimmesdale, Pearl s father. It is also

Dbq Peter The Great Absolutism
Absolutism created a time of prosperity throughout the 1500s and the 1600s. At this
point of history, absolutism was an efficient way of running a government.
Absolutist leaders were vigorous, assertive and a potent symbol of authority. The
amount of growth in countries such as Russia was both efficient and effective
because the power of authority was concentrated into one person s hands.
Absolutism enabled Peter the Great to modernize and adapt Russia for war,
commerce and industrial growth. Additionally, absolutism gave people a powerful
leader they needed to trust in and depend on for their country s sake. This type of

This absolutist leader is portrayed by both King James I of England and King
Louis XIV of France. King James I of England provided his people with a religious
affiliation of himself and God. Through the divine right of kings, King James I
believed he granted himself power from the authority of God. By means of this
given right, King James I convinced his people was equal in power to God.
Although this statement is false, many people, specifically the poor and illiterate,
believed him. King James I used people s relationships with God to create his own
relationship amongst the people. In England there needed to be order when
religious affiliation was breaking between the people and God. So rather than
people looking up to God, they would look up to King James I. The state of
monarchy is the supreme thing upon earth; for kings are not only God s

as powerful as God, no one could disobey or disagree with him. King James I
granted himself the power to create and destroy, give life or sentence death and to
determine the status of people. By making himself known as a god, King James I
was able to fulfill several religious aspects in people s lives and rule under a well
organized secure state of monarchy. Additionally,

Therefore, if an organism is able to grow well on the agar, it is likely that it is

Only Staphylococcus aureus is able to ferment mannitol, which produces an acid

P3 Describe energy intake and expenditure in sports performance
Energy measurements
Calories
Calorie a unit of heat equal to the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of
1,000 grams of water by one degree Celsius. This unit is used as a measure of the
energy released by food as it is digested by the human body. Also called kilocalorie,
large calorie.
Joules
In terms of kinetic energy, one joule is equal to the energy of a mass of two
kilograms moving at a velocity of one meter per second. It equals about 0.24 calories,
or roughly the energy required to raise a spoonful of food to mouth.
Kilocalories
Kilocalories is equal to 1000 calories.

Carbohydrates come in simple forms such as sugars and in complex forms such as
starches and fibre. The body breaks down most sugars and starches into glucose, a
simple sugar that the body can use to feed its cells.
Proteins
Protein from animal sources, such as meat and milk, is called complete, because it
contains all nine of the essential amino acids. Most vegetable protein is considered
incomplete because it lacks one or more of the essential amino acids.
Measuring requirements
Body composition
In physical fitness, body composition is used to describe the percentages of fat, bone,
water and muscle in human bodies. Because muscular tissue takes up less space in
our body than fat tissue, our body composition, as well as our weight, determines
leanness.
Basal metabolic rate
This rate at which the body uses energy while at rest to maintain vital functions such
as breathing and keeping warm.
Lean body mass
Lean Body Mass is a component of body composition, calculated by subtracting body
fat weight from total body weight: total body weight is lean plus fat.
Percentage body fat (skinfold analysis)
In your body you have a certain percentage of fat this is increase by the food you eat
and decrease by how much exercise you do to burn off the fat in your body. For
example 20% fat in the
The Mummy
Ancient egypt was a fantastic and innovative culture which was incredibly advanced
for its time. The ancient egyptians had many beliefs vital for their continuation as a
civilization. The birth of the sun in the east and its death in the west, this belief was
a core in their region as they lived in the east, and buried their dead in the west. to
aid in the passage into the afterlife the pharaoh and some nobility, would be
mummified, the strong belief in the afterlife, and in their Gods are what allowed this
civilization to live for about three thousand years. Ancient egypt; although

the cycle of the sun and moon was to represent creation (tayler pg 29). this cycle
was referenced in almost everything, even where they lived and buried their dead.
In The Mummy they state Hamunaptra, city of the dead and burial site for the sons
of kings (sommers 0.04.00) this sounds reasonable except that this fictional city
resides in the east not in the west where it should theoretically be. this quote taken
from the movie, doesn t explicitly say where the city resides but later on we can
see the sun rising revealing Hamunaptra (sommers 0.37.51). In the beginning of the
movie we see the Pyramids of Giza, then the camera pans down and the narrator
says that the city they are in is Thebes( sommers 0.1.08).the reason why the
Pyramids of Giza are named such is because they are in Giza. The ruins of Thebes is
in modern day Luxor, The pyramids of Giza are approximately seven hundred
kilometres north from Luxor (Egypt [map]), and by extension Thebes. so not only
was Sommer incorrect about the theoretical placement of hamunaptra, but he was
also about 700 kilometres wrong about the Giza

Outline for All the Disappearing Islands
A. Paragraph 1: Introduction
Julia Whitty writes about the amazing beauty of Tuvalu Islands
B. Paragraphs 2 3: General Idea
The general idea is the environmental and cultural impact of melting ice caps on the
nation of Tuvalu.
Global Warming could cause the sea to expand and rise faster than the corals could
fortify themselves against it and Tuvalu could disappear beneath the waves.
This not only risks the population of the island but also to the unique human culture
born and bred in this watery island.

Tuvaluans see the evidence with their own eyes every day.
Only 75 islanders a year will be accepted as refugees by New Zeland.

Cadillac Research Paper
History of The Cadillac
Cadillac is a name known worldwide, and is valued across the world by many car
enthusiasts. Cadillac has been one of the top leaders in luxury vehicles since its
start in 1902. Over its 114 year existence, the brand has put out many luxury cars
that are top of the line to this day. These models include the Escalade, and the CT6.
Cadillac is one of the most unique luxury car brands, as it one of the only luxury
brands that are produced in the United States. So given this background information,
one would have to assume that the Cadillac brand has a substantial amount of history,
so I present to you... The History Of Cadillac.
On August 22, 1902, Cadillac was founded in Detroit Michigan by the infamous pair
of Henry Ford ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to conceptcarz.com, the Runabout AND Tonneau both ran on a single
cylinder engine that ran on only about 6.5 horsepower, but could likely go up to 10
horsepower. At the time, the engine that Cadillac ran on was nicknamed The Little
Hercules About 2,400 models of the Runabout and Tonneau were sold in 1903,
giving Cadillac a very good start in the automobile industry. I think the reason for
Cadillac s huge early success was that the car was truly one of a kind. It came with
the newest technology of it s age, and offered a look and feel of luxury like no
other car on the market could ve possibly offered. According to the Runabout and
Tonneau official Wikipedia page, the one cylinder engine that Cadillac produced
for the two debut models were only offered from 1903 1908. This is interesting
because 1908 was still before the first Chevrolet was made. So just think about this,
Cadillac was already moving on from single cylinder engines while Chevrolet still
hadn t been founded or produced their debut vehicle. To me that is just insane,
considering the fact that Chevrolet who is owned by General Motors are now
partners, and basically own the Cadillac brand! Oh how the roles have flipped over the

Comparing Moses And Clare s Journey
Considering both Moses and Clare s navigation through oppression, it is important
to examine their reflections at end of their journeys that resulted from their
rebellion or lack thereof. For Moses, he claims sorrowfully, I just lay there on the bed
thinking about my life, how after all these years I ain t got no place at all, I still the
same way, neither forward nor backward (Selvon 129). After facing all of the racial
and gender barriers in London, Mosescontemplates his experiences and
acknowledges that he has been stagnant. Selvon s use of commas in the place of
periods creates a run on sentence that seems to list all of Moses regrets.
Similar to how the sentence is like an incessant list, Moses s reflection and sorrow

Clare was originally supposed to be heavily suppressed given her circumstances,
arguably even more than Moses, as she had an autocratic father neglecting her
black roots and was perceived as a naive twelve year old girl incapable of doing
anything. Nonetheless, she had confronted her limits that society placed on her in
pursuit of her identity, leading her to have the confidence to fire the gun. After
that incidence of defiance, her mother told her, When you are grown you can want
anything you want. You can be anything you want. A doctor. A teacher. But to get
there you have to learn the rules. That girls like you don t fire guns (Cliff 150).
Unlike Moses whose narrative ends with regret, the end of Clare s journey as rebel
opens a new chapter for her where her possibilities are, according to her mother,
endless. However, their views on the path to success and fulfillment are quite
different. Clare s perspective on doing anything [she] wants is not defined by being
in the workforce which is suggested by her mom and is the route Moses took.
Rather, Clare derives her pleasure from defying these rules made for girls and finding
her identity and the independence that follows, enabling her to develop a greater
sense of human

1.3Methods and Assumptions Emission rates were estimated using either an
emission factor or mass balance technique. Emission factors were primarily taken
from USEPA s Compilation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors (AP 42), Fifth Edition.
Actual annual emission rates in tons per year are calculated using the best available
information such as annual throughput or hours of operation, as appropriate for the
source. Annualized hourly emission rates in pounds per hour are generally calculated
by dividing the actual annual emission rates by the number of hours in one year
(8,760). This provides the average hourly emission rate during the entire year,
regardless of whether the source was in operation. In general, maximum hourly
emission rates are calculated as a function of predetermined peak operational
parameters, such as the maximum hourly charging rate and maximum hourly fuel
throughput for incinerators. For other sources, where maximum hourly operational
parameters are unknown, maximum hourly emission rates are generally calculated by
dividing the actual annual emission rates by the number of operating hours during
the calendar year. This provides the maximum emission rate for a one hour operating
period, though the rate is effectively averaged over the operational time frame.
Maximum allowable hourly and annual emissions are calculated by determining the
maximum emission rate of a pollutant that can occur at a source when operated at its

it was a first mover in the on line movie rental market. Netflix s strategy in the movie

Answer lies in the number of total subscribers which has grown from 107 000 in
1999 to 6 316 000 in 2006. (source: Netflix 2006 10 k). Number of subscribers was
constantly growing since 1998 due to good strategy decisions like : proprietary
recommendation system , hiring of Ted Sarandos and opening more distribution

increasing customer s satisfaction. How does Netflix s strategy compare to

How Golf Is A Sport
Kendall Blaich
Miss Royse
English 4
8 April 2015
Golf is a Sport For the first time since 1904, golf will be returning to the 2016
Olympics in Rio (Shipnuck). Golf is a very complicated sport. It is a mental game
along with a physical one. The many aspects of golf are very similar to other sports.
Golf is a sport because it has similar components to other sports such as strategizing
how you play, the equipment used, and the physical strength and endurance
required. The first component is strategizing how you play. Knowing the correct
club to use in each situation on the golf course is a big factor of strategizing.
Before you pick your club you must visualize the ball and see it in its flight path,
know the winds speed and direction, the relation of the ball to the target, and lastly
if your lie is good or bad (Herrfeldt). The second factor of strategizing is being
completely aware of your surroundings. The yardages for each hole are marked on
the scorecard or various object throughout the hole (Kelley). Knowing the distance
to the hole will allow you to pick the right club to hit the perfect shot. Some factors
to consider are wind and your lie. If you are hitting into a strong wind you will
need to take a longer distance club, but if you are hitting in the same direction as
the wind a shorter club is ideal (Herrfeldt). Another factor in strategizing how you
play is to know which swing to take. Short, or softer, swings will not allow the ball to
travel as far as hard,
The Design And Aesthetic Appeal
The design and aesthetic appeal between the two models was uncanny. Patented
features such as rubber banding, in which a screen image bounces slightly when a
user tries to scroll past the bottom, were identical. Same with pinch to zoom, which
allows users to manipulate image size by pinching the thumb and forefinger together
on the screen. And on and on. We look at Samsung s record of patent infringement,
among other ruthless business tactics, and explains why Apple might win the battles
but still lose the war. Samsung threatened if any claims for patent infringement were
thrown their way they would retaliate with the same charges. If Apple executives
pursued a claimagainst Samsung for stealing the iPhone, Samsung would come right
back at them with a theft claim of its own. The battle lines were drawn. In the
months and years that followed, Apple and Samsung would clash on a scale almost
unprecedented in the business world, costing the two companies more than a billion
dollars and engendering millions of pages of legal papers, multiple verdicts and
rulings, and more hearings.
Patent infringement is unlawful and thus there is a necessary obligation to avoid it.
Samsung was found guilty on 6 of the 7 patent infringement cases and Apple was
awarded 600 million dollars in damages from Samsung for the infringement battle,
however Samsung essentially won the war. The Samsung brand had become a
household name, with a huge percentage of the industry s consumers loyal to
The Connection Between Western Capitalism And

Globalized Violence:
The Connection Between Western Capitalism and Mexican Femicide Globalization:
a process of interaction between the social, economic and political systems of
different nations, a process powered by international trade and investment. Some
assert that globalization encourages the spread of more enlightened and egalitarian
Western values and international tolerance, while others believe that this
phenomenon harms more than it helps and fosters an uncontrolled and abusive
economic environment. There is no shortage of opinions on the matter, though one
sure point of fact is that globalization affects all aspects of modern life, including
the murky world of gendered violence. Between the signing of NAFTA in 1992 and
the middle of 2002, just shy of three hundred blue collar female factory workers
were murdered in the border town of Juarez, Mexico. However, these numbers are
simply the tip of the iceberg when compared to the four hundred and fifty additional
disappearances during that decade, a grand total that is only increasing with each
passing year. In short, these murders eventually sparked international intrigue and
distress, forcing the world to take a closer look at some of the uglier consequences
of globalization. Essentially, the femicides of Juarez are simply a symptom of a
patriarchal society unconcerned with the lives of its workforce, a culture that values
products more than the people who produce them: the overlapping timelines of the

The Industrial Revolution, spanning the 18th and 19th centuries, marked a profound transformation in human society, bringing about significant changes in technology, production methods, and the socio-economic landscape. One of the challenges in crafting an essay on this subject is the vast scope of the Industrial Revolution itself. From the mechanization of industries to the impact on labor, urbanization, and global trade, there are numerous dimensions to consider. The essay should not only provide a chronological account of key events but also delve into the underlying causes, consequences, and the varied experiences of different regions and social classes. Furthermore, an effective essay on the Industrial Revolution requires the ability to critically analyze historical sources, evaluate their reliability, and present a nuanced perspective. The interconnectedness of economic, technological, and societal changes during this period demands a comprehensive approach that goes beyond a mere recounting of facts. Addressing the complexities of the Industrial Revolution also involves exploring the ethical implications of industrialization, such as the exploitation of labor, environmental degradation, and the unequal distribution of wealth. A successful essay must navigate these ethical considerations with sensitivity and offer a balanced evaluation of the historical developments. In conclusion, writing an essay on the Industrial Revolution is a formidable task that demands meticulous research, analytical skills, and the ability to synthesize information from diverse sources. • 2. The Theory Of Runaway Ramps On A Declining Road Surface Civil engineers formed the physical concept of runaway ramps on a declining road surface in order to enhance the safety for passengers in the rare situation a brake failure occurs; this can be associated to the investigation into braking distance in relation to the coefficient of friction. Physics particularly focuses on a subject otherwise known as motion; this has many practical applications in modern society. One of which is in relation to vehicles and the elements of physics that reason the stopping distance of the vehicle. Theories have been devised in order to develop an understanding as to how and why a vehicle reaches rest even without the intervention of human force. The following investigation analyses the braking distances of the vehicle on multiple different surfaces. To begin with, the investigation attempts to replicate the realistic situation of a runaway ramp found on declining road surfaces in the effort to allow optimal safety in the circumstance of brake failure. The objective of the ramp is to provide an adjacent surface deviating from the main section of the road that acts as a braking system for the vehicle [1]; this is completed through the utilisation of different surfaces such as gravel or sand (see Appendix 1.1). This specifically is referred to as the arrester bed, one of multiple methods of a runaway ramp utilised world wide and the individual system relevant to the investigation. Physical concepts are apparent through the study of runaway ramps,

The Spanish believed that Elizabeth, because she was Protestant, was a heretic and that she should be disposed of. Because of this necessary process, forms of sanitary protection have been concocted to meet the needs of women to care for themselves during their menstrual bleeding period. There have been numerous approaches used by women from all over the world and over the years. Of the numerous materials, used to collect and dispose of menstrual waste, two have remained most popular, the pad and the tampon. While many might use, and be familiar with their use in their menstrual hygiene, not much is known about what is put in or on them and the regulations surrounding them. This paper hopes to shed a light on the history and safety regulations surrounding the popular menstrual hygiene products pads and tampons. This papers hopes to answer whether these products are safe. Some of the earliest records we have concerning menstrual hygiene solutions are those of ancient Egyptian women. Egyptian records, that date back to the 15th century B.C., reveal that women, often wealthy, used internal plugs made from soft papyrus or wool. Poorer women, who might not have been able to afford soft papyrus or wool were recorded to have used softened aquatic grasses (Farage 101). Their Greek counterparts, as written by Hippocrates, a famous ancient Greek physician, were said to have created internal plugs as well from lint wrapped around a small piece of wood. (Ehrlich, 2013)The article also poses the question of how best to humanely restrict population growth. It is suggested that women should be provided with access to education and all sexually active people are provided with contraception and access to abortions, a decision that would meet much opposition from religious organisations. Finally, Ehrlich discusses the role of the scientific community and the need for global cooperation if anything is to be done. The need for better education is greatly emphasised, not only for the public but also for governments and economists. Collaboration between social scientists and natural scientists is suggested in order to better understand how to facilitate the mobilization of society that is required to solve these issues on a global level. The s Four Stages Of Thought Although good health is generally the norm in emerging adulthood, low birthrate, under nutrition in infancy and rapid weight gain in early childhood tend to result in shorter height, reduced body functioning and higher risks of disease (Berger, 2014, p. 394). Fertility is still an optimal level as it always was, however families are being started almost a decade later than they used to. Emerging adults are riskier and have more accidents, however, due to their overall good healthy, they are usually discharged from the hospital rather quickly. In sports, the thrill overwhelms reason (Berger, 2014, p. 398). Drug and alcohol abuse are exciting in emerging adults, reaching it s peak attraction during college and declining sharply around age 20. A fifth state of though that would follow Piaget s four stages of thought is called postformal thought. Post formal tinkers take a more flexible and comprehensive approach, using forethought, noting difficulties and anticipating problems, not denying, avoiding or procrastinating, (Berger, 2014, p. 400). Stereotype threat, which is the possibility that one s appearance or behavior will be misread to confirm another persons over simplified, prejudice attitudes, can be a real problem on emerging adults who apply to and attend college. College attendance is rapidly increasing in developing nations, as it is apparent that tertiary education improves health productivity and income. (Berger, 2014, p. 408). Kerouac spent the bulk of his writing career riding trains from city to city, meeting people and writing books and poetry. He was among the premier writers of the Beat Generation, a group of primarily urban poets and writers who put the basics of life and their spiritual nuances into poetry with a beat. The book, The Dharma Bums, is a window into the daily structure of the Beat Generation. He is almost always meticulous in certain aspects of a given scene while leaving out what one would think are important details. However, the descriptions given are always enough to reveal a full, vivid picture of moments, whether only gestures are described or wall paper. The various scenes of the book are often unexpected, but the matter of fact style of writing usually diffuses. Kerouac creates such a familiarity with his readers that it becomes assumed that any place unusual to the reader is typical for him, and in this way he pulls the reader further into this world of the Beat Generation. Oftentimes the scenes are set in the cramped places such as boxcars and single room shacks frequented by Ray and his friends. Other times the scenes are places like cafe s and restaurants around San Francisco, San Diego, and other, usually Californian, cities; however some of Kerouac s most effective place descriptions throughout The Dharma Bums are found in the stories of other places told by those Ray meets, rather than where he actually goes. Among the most poignant aspects of The Dharma Bums is Kerouac s ability to use long narratives to pull his readers into the experiences of the characters. The Dharma Bums is replete with the explanation of the experiences of ancient Zen Buddhist thinkers and their experiences as they search for enlightenment. Kerouac constantly accesses the ancient writings of Zen Buddhist monks. Using such writings as a

John Locke was an English writer, and his writings were based on the events that took place during the Glorious Revolution in England in 1689, when the people of England overthrew King James II. John Locke was interestingly enough, brought up in a loyalist and Evangelical family. He was born to a very wealthy family, and received much prestige in Oxford for his connections to the higher ups. Locke presented his ideas of rebellion during the English civil war which took place in the mid 1600s, in favor of the revolts against the King s rule in England at the time. John Locke graduated with a degree in medicine from Oxford University. He spent his entire life living in England until he was exiled to Holland, after the English government found his writings on the freedom from religion to be defiant of the king s authority. The main idea that Locke was trying to establish was that rebellions against tyrannical governments should be viewed in a respected eye from the rest of the world. He used the Treatises of Government to differentiate the rule of a civil government and an uncivil government. Without the influence of a rebellious Englishman there may never have been the United States of America. Some of the founding fathers have been firm believers in the ideas posed in John Locke s Second Treatise of Government . The one idea that can be seen quite clearly is the complete dissenting stance taken by Locke on the thought of monarchy in civil government. Absolute monarchy,

Civil Rights Movement in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee To Kill a Mockingbird was a 1960 s novel written by the author Harper Lee from Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement which inspired the theme of her book; racism. The book is set in the 1930 s in Maycomb which is a very poor town. The book is written in the view of Jean Louise Scout Finch a 6 year old girl who is the son of lawyer Atticus Finch and has a brother called Jem. They are close neighbours to the dreaded Radley family and especially Boo Radley the son who they are terrified of. Boo has been judged unfairly by the whole town of Maycomb because no one had seen him in years, people were just going along with old wives tales about him stabbing his mother in the leg. This unfair judgement links in with the racial prejudice that occurs in Maycomb when black peopleare treated poorly just because of their colour. Racism and Segregation happens throughout the book for example when Scout is at school and her teacher Miss Caroline finds out Scout can read she tells her she can t read because the rest of the class cant, she gets off to a bad start with Miss Caroline when she tries to explain Walter Cunningham can t afford anything because his family are very poor which gets her in trouble. They were both considered threats to the foundations of the Puritan establishment because they were challenging and stepping out of their rightful place as women in a patriarchal society. Dexter s report on Anne s trial is a historical document that supports the idea that being a woman in that society was inherently condemning. On the first day of trial, John Cotton, English clergyman at the Massachusetts Bay Colony, advises the women he believes have been corrupted by Anne in the meetings she held to talk about religion. He says: Let not the good you have received from her, make you to receive all for good that comes from her; for you see she is but a Woman and many unsound and dangerous principles are held by her . Therefore, if an organism is able to grow well on the agar, it is likely that it is Staphylococcus. The agar is differential because of the mannitol and the indicator. Only Staphylococcus aureus is able to ferment mannitol, which produces an acid end product. This acid accumulation will lower the pH of the agar plate, causing it to change colors to yellow. I was able to observe 3 organisms on a mannitol plate; one S. aureus that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some organisms produce an enzyme called catalase, which breaks down the toxic hydrogen peroxide (that is produced as a result of their electron transport chain) into water and oxygen gas. This test determines the presence of catalase in an organism by applying hydrogen peroxide directly to the organisms. If the tube immediately bubbles, it means that catalase was present and it turned hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen gas. If it does not bubble, it means that catalase is absent and did not convert hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen gas. I observed S. aureus bubble with the addition of hydrogen peroxide, meaning catalase was present. I also observed S. pyrogenes not bubble with the addition of hydrogen peroxide, meaning the organism does not produce

After that incidence of defiance, her mother told her, When you are grown you can want anything you want. You can be anything you want. A doctor. A teacher. Emission factors were primarily taken from USEPA s Compilation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors (AP 42), Fifth Edition. Actual annual emission rates in tons per year are calculated using the best available information such as annual throughput or hours of operation, as appropriate for the source. Annualized hourly emission rates in pounds per hour are generally calculated by dividing the actual annual emission rates by the number of hours in one year (8,760). This provides the average hourly emission rate during the entire year, regardless of whether the source was in operation. In general, maximum hourly emission rates are calculated as a function of predetermined peak operational parameters, such as the maximum hourly charging rate and maximum hourly fuel throughput for incinerators. For other sources, where maximum hourly operational parameters are unknown, maximum hourly emission rates are generally calculated by dividing the actual annual emission rates by the number of operating hours during the calendar year. This provides the maximum emission rate for a one hour operating period, though the rate is effectively averaged over the operational time frame. Maximum allowable hourly and annual emissions are calculated by determining the maximum emission rate of a pollutant that can occur at a source when operated at its

Golf is a very complicated sport. It is a mental game along with a physical one. The many aspects of golf are very similar to other sports. Golf is a sport because it has similar components to other sports such as strategizing how you play, the equipment used, and the physical strength and endurance required. The first component is strategizing how you play. Knowing the correct club to use in each situation on the golf course is a big factor of strategizing. Before you pick your club you must visualize the ball and see it in its flight path, know the winds speed and direction, the relation of the ball to the target, and lastly if your lie is good or bad (Herrfeldt). The second factor of strategizing is being completely aware of your surroundings. The yardages for each hole are marked on the scorecard or various object throughout the hole (Kelley). Knowing the distance to the hole will allow you to pick the right club to hit the perfect shot. Some factors to consider are wind and your lie. If you are hitting into a strong wind you will need to take a longer distance club, but if you are hitting in the same direction as the wind a shorter club is ideal (Herrfeldt). Another factor in strategizing how you play is to know which swing to take. Short, or softer, swings will not allow the ball to travel as far as hard,

Globalized Violence: The Connection Between Western Capitalism and Mexican Femicide Globalization: a process of interaction between the social, economic and political systems of different nations, a process powered by international trade and investment. Some assert that globalization encourages the spread of more enlightened and egalitarian Western values and international tolerance, while others believe that this phenomenon harms more than it helps and fosters an uncontrolled and abusive economic environment. There is no shortage of opinions on the matter, though one sure point of fact is that globalization affects all aspects of modern life, including the murky world of gendered violence. Between the signing of NAFTA in 1992 and the middle of 2002, just shy of three hundred blue collar female factory workers were murdered in the border town of Juarez, Mexico. However, these numbers are simply the tip of the iceberg when compared to the four hundred and fifty additional disappearances during that decade, a grand total that is only increasing with each passing year. In short, these murders eventually sparked international intrigue and distress, forcing the world to take a closer look at some of the uglier consequences of globalization. Essentially, the femicides of Juarez are simply a symptom of a patriarchal society unconcerned with the lives of its workforce, a culture that values products more than the people who produce them: the overlapping timelines of the Juarez
