The Association Of Elementary And Secondary School...
The Pennsylvania Principals Association, 122 Valley Road, Summerdale, PA, is a non profit
volunteer organization serving all principals, assistant principals and other educational leaders
across the commonwealth. Starting in 1936, the association functioned as two separate entities, the
Pennsylvania Association of Elementary School Principals and the Pennsylvania Association of
Secondary SchoolPrincipals (Thompson, 2014). In 2000, representatives from both associations
met to discuss the possibility of joining the two into one organization to increase efficiency in day
to day operations. In July of 2003, the merging of both associations took effect as well as operations
under their new name, the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School
Principals (PAESSP). Most recently, the association changed its name to the Pennsylvania
Principals Association in September of 2015 (Thompson, 2014).
With almost four thousand members within the commonwealth, the PA Principals Association

Positives And Negatives Of Sorority
Animal house, Sydney White, and The Revenge of the Nerds. These are movies about
Fraternities and Sororities that everyday people associate with Greek life; alcohol, drugs,
hazing,Togo parties, manipulation, and debauchery in forms of the imagination. Although
these things do happen on many levels, as the war cry of the title Admit Nothing, Deny
Everything , there are many positives. I have personally been positively influenced by a sorority
that has permanently changed my life forever. My freshman year of college, I went through
recruitment and was chosen to be a pledge sister for Delta Zeta Sorority. I was immediately
surrounded by older DZ sisters who became my friends and mentors. I was also made to jump
out of my comfort zone with the many projects, and fundraisers the sorority did. I worked with
hearing impaired children, I created the homecoming float, and I organized formals and mixers.
Thoughthese activities I as able to break out of my shell and have no fear of raising my hand and
saying I ll do it . Although Greek life might not be for everybody, there are positives factors to
being a part of it.Fraternities and Sororitieshave made a tremendous turn from where they first
began in 1776. From being kept secret, because of social status, to now being heard of in every
home. Not many people understand the full meaning of Fraternity and Sorority, being in a sorority

Compare And Contrast Bradstreet And Taylor
Anne Bradstreet s In Memory of My Dear Grandchild Elizabeth Bradstreet, Who Deceased
August, 1665, Being a Year and Half Old and Edward Taylor s Upon Wedlock and Death of
Children are elegies written in early colonial America. Bradstreet and Taylor were contemporaries
of each other, and while Bradstreet became well known for her poetryduring her lifetime, Taylor
was not discovered until years after his death. The poetry that they wrote was controversial in
Colonial America because it was not written using plain style, a type of writing which avoided the
use extra biblical references and shifted attention from the writer. Both writers wrote their respective
elegies to express the grief they felt in the loss of their offspring. Although Anne Bradstreets In
Memory and Edward Taylor s Upon Wedlock share similar subjects and content, the technical
features distinguish the two author s styles.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Memory is a poem written to the deceased grandchild, a second person address. In lines one
through seven, Bradstreet calls the child her dear babe (1), sweet babe (2), fair flower (3). She
also uses pronouns such as thy (5, 6) and thou (7) to indicate that she is speaking directly to the
child. In lines eight through fourteen, she continues to talk to the child, although the reader could
assume she is speaking to them, since she does not directly address the child again. Upon
Wedlock is written to the reader, a third person observer. Taylor never once addresses his children

The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn
Cameron Underwood Mrs. Greenlee Honors English III June 1st, 2015 Independent Novel
Project The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Knowledge Section Significance of Title When
considering the background behind the novel s title, not much is immediately apparent; for the
title is literally just the main character s name, and the affirmation that there will be some
adventuring going down somewhere within the story. Further analysis is not really possible
unless the name of the said protagonist is considered. The name Huckleberry does not refer to
any actual huckles, or berries, or even any actual huckleberries; it instead was a slang word in
the early 19th century typically used in self deprecation that roughly meant: small, unimportant
person. It was also used to describe anything that was just right for a task. Finn is a quite very
Irish masculine name that means white or Fair haired. So with that little tidbit, a clearer picture
of the title is gained. This book is about an insignificant blonde guy who will go an adventure of
sorts. And that s just what Mark Twain needed. Genre and Setting Huckleberry Finn is realistic
/historical fiction novel based on the pre civil war era in America. It also could be considered a
satirical novel, as a lot of the characterizations are done in an intentionally humorous way, such as
Huck s general country bumpkin style stupidity and mannerisms, along with Jim s old wives tales
that keep coming true, and the duke and the king s noble

Stewart s Argument Analysis
The first aspect of choice showcased by Stewart is the delegation of authority. As per her
statement, whenever she is close with a member of the management team, she shares problems
that she faces as a leader and works with the junior manager to arrive at a decision. This also
showcases her willingness and ability to share information as well as an attribute of trust towards
her members of staff.
Competence
The first aspect of confidence shown by Stewart is knowledge. Albeit a senior member of staff,
Stewart shows that she has detailed knowledge about minute aspects if the restaurant chain from
top management to how kitchens operate. Stewart also showcases knowledge on how to conduct
positive feedback. She not only compliments her workers but also ensures that the compliment is
overheard and utilized as a learning moment by the other workers. ... Show more content on

In restaurants, she is not looking to cast aspersions at members of staff and/or look for mistakes,
instead, she seeks for opportunities to compliment. This shows junior staff that she has an

juniors and seek their opinion, she does not browbeat them with her superior knowledge but seeks
to show them that their opinion

Difference Between Narrative Content And Narrative Form
As described in Ways of Reading , narrative content is a collection of represented events, along
with the participants in those events and the circumstances of those events. (Ways of Reading 260)
and narrative form is the way in which those events are represented through a particular narrative
medium (Ways of Reading 260). In other words narrativecontent is the events that happen
throughout a story and narrative form is the way we are shown these events throughout the story.
There is often a tension between narrative content and narrative form. The difference between the
narrative content and narrative form includes differences in narrative order, narrative pace and
narrative coherence. In this essay I will explain what is meant by narrative order, narrative pace
and narrative coherence with examples from Kate Chopins The Awakening .... Show more content

Content order and form order. Content order is the chronological order of events (Ways of
Reading 260), which is the order in which the events really happened. Form order is the order in
which the narrative presents these events to us (Ways of Reading 260). In simple narratives the
form order and the content order are usually the same, so the event that we read about first, we
assume that this event was what happened first. Unlike in more complex narratives where there can
be a manipulation or mismatch in the order of events, which means that the first event we read
about might not be the event that actually occurred first in the story. An example of narrative order
in The Awakening is The two women went one morning to the beach together, arm in arm, under
the huge white sunshade (Chopin 15,28). This examples shows a simple narrative order as it
simply tells us that the two women went to the beach, so we assume that that is what happened in
the order the narrative tells us it has

Power In Othello s Jealousy
Both Othello and Shylock hold covet positions of power within Venice that they are disdained for
because of their respective identities as a Moor and Jew. As Othello has been granted with the
rank as the general of the Venetian armed forces, this allows him to possess a substantial amount of
power and influence as one of the great ones of the city (Oth. 1.1.8). However, this power that

Christians believe that Shylock being a Jew is a stony adversary, an inhuman wretch

suggests that the hatred that Shylock receives as a financier stems not from his occupation itself,

a powerful one, it indicates that the Venetians hate Shylock because they view him not his

History Coca Cola was founded in 1886 by Dr. John S. Pemberton. After creating flavored syrup,
he took it to his neighborhood pharmacy where it got mixed with carbonated water. Frank M.
Robinson, Dr. Pemberton s partner and bookkeeper, is credited with naming the beverage Coca

was sold to Asa G. Candler who decided to expand the product to soda fountains outside of
Atlanta, Georgia. From here, he noticed there was a growing demand for Coca Cola which
brought about the aspiration to make Coca Cola portable. Joseph Biedenharn became the first

Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler and Bertolt Brecht’s Mother...
Henrik Ibsen s Hedda Gabler and Bertolt Brecht s Mother Courage and Her Children
Henrik Ibsen s Hedda Gabler and Bertolt Brecht s Mother Courage and Her Children present two
strongly defined female heroines whose actions not only adversely affect the other characters lives
but also suggest a fundamental problem with their societies. Both playwrights establish the
macroscopic view of society s ills in the microscopic, individual characters of Hedda and Mother
Courage. Both characters have an indomitable magnetism that, on the one hand, allows them to
control others but, on the other, causes them to make desperate choices that reflect a repressive
society.

Though Ibsen depicts Hedda as a cold, unnatural creature who cannot love her husband, her child,
or even her lover Lovborg, she nevertheless remains a victim in life and, by her suicide, in death.
Society holds no place for Hedda other than as a wife or mother, and the implication remains
throughout the play that Hedda, as an intelligent individual, has wasted her intelligence and abilities
on her domestic role. Hedda channels her creative energy into a fruitless, harmful end, and the
coldness of her character matches the idea that anyone opposing the social roles set forth for them
must exist as an unnatural, unfeeling creature. If her life has given her a cage, then her death,
which seems to free Hedda, in actuality only gives yet another destructive manifestation of her
energies. Ibsen implies, by her death, that the only way Hedda finds freedom from an oppressive
system lies in the internalization of her destructive actions, or her suicide.
Though Hedda, in view of this restrictive society, potentially evokes our sympathetic emotions, she
nevertheless makes choices Ibsen carefully delineates in the play that lead to her ultimate
destruction. Perhaps the greatest tragedy underlying both Hedda s character and the play as a
whole remains with Hedda herself, for she ultimately chooses to take what society offers her
Tesman and the life of a social wife. When offered

The Positive And Negative Effects Of European Imperialism...
Throughout the history of Europeans imperialism in south Africa, native south Africans were
exploited, used as slaves and servers for the Europeans. The south African people were treated
unfairly for a long period of time. The south African couldn t have more patience about their
situation, so they started a war. They got their independence later after the war. This colonization
that happened had positive and negative effects on south Africa.
The first colony that colonized south Africa was the Dutch from Netherlands on June 20, 1652.
Then South Africa was colonized by other European countries because the Dutch were weak and
their power has decreased. These European countries were Portugal, Britain, and France. During the
colonization of south Africa, there were a lot of things that happened there. The European had

Assyrian Art Essay
Assyrian Art
The reliefs from the palace of King Assurnasirpal II at Nimrud play an important role in
portraying the power and importance of the Assyrian king. These reliefs are similar to other
Assyrian reliefs in terms of their purpose; however, there is a contrast in the methods used to
glorify the king. By examining such factors as style, iconography and historical significance, we
find many similarities and differences between the ceremonial reliefs and the more common reliefs
depicting war and hunting.
The reliefs belonging to the sacred or ceremonial category consist of panels depicting a sacred
tree, a human headed genius fertilizing a sacred tree, a griffin fertilizing a sacred tree, and a scene
of King Assurnasirpal (whose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In term of stylization, both the human headed deities and Assurnasirpal have very stylized hair
falling in straight locks to the back of their necks; furthermore, they possess highly stylized beards
of intricate waves and ringlets which end evenly at the bottom.
Because these features are similar to that of Assurbanipal and the mythological bullmen at the
palace at Khorsabad, it can be construed that it is a coiffure characteristic of royalty and divinity
alike (Art History Anthology 28).
Moving on to the facial expression, we find that all the human headed figures contain large
eyebrows, large eyes that are deeply undercut, an elongated nose, conventionalized ears, and highly
conventionalized lips which appear as a simple slit. On the other hand, the beardless griffin has an
eagle s head adorned with a feather headdress and a curved beak with a long tongue. To show the
strength of the deities and Assurnasirpal, the artist depicts muscles within the arms and legs through
simple lines and curves. This style of depicting the facial and body features is common in other
Assyrian reliefs including the hunting scenes of Assurbanipal.
Although there are many similarities in body structure, there is also a distinctive element that
separates the deities and the king. Each deity possesses a set of four highly stylized wings made up

Weaknesses Of Ir, It Is Not The Silver Bullet That Will...
Weaknesses of IR
Although there are a lot of strengths for IR, it is not the silver bullet that will completely change
accounting forever. One of the main weaknesses of IR is the expenses that come with measuring
such a comprehensive range of factors that include non monetary factors that can be hard to
actually measure (Eccles Krzus, 2010). It can be unappealing for smaller companies or
organisations to set up all of these systems in order to provide a wider perspective of their business
or organisation just to please stakeholders, when the costs will outweigh the potential profits of
attracting new investors.
Another issue would be potential information overload for less knowledgeable individuals who
will simply be overwhelmed by all the information provided by IR. There is a question of how
important is it to report more comprehensively if the end user will simply be unable to use all of
the information to their advantage, which raises another question of if it is worth reporting in an IR
format at all.
Time is also a major issue for some companies who may have less labour to spare in order to
report on what can be considered less important aspects of an organisation, especially if it is a
small to medium sized enterprise. There have been reports of some integrated reports being three
times as longer than estimated to be completed (Eccles Saltzman, 2011). It can be very hard to
justify allocating that many hours to prepare a report that some may find unnecessary or

Social Acceptance In The Necklace And The Lottery
Coming Together as One Many people in order to fit in with others, try to be and act like those
people they are surrounded by. This is how people find acceptance with others, and are able to
feel like they fit in within a class or a specific group of people. In the works of Octavio Paz s The
Day of the Dead , Guy Maupassant s The Necklace , and Shirley Jackson s The Lottery , they
have people who live in a society where social acceptance is important when being judged by
others, the readers see people get together and forgetting about their real lives, decisions being
made that are influenced by society, and attending events where the society becomes as one.
Today in this society we see the need for social acceptance in many individuals, as well within
ourselves. People seek the need to feel that they fit in with other social groups, they seek the need
to feel that when you are within those groups you forget about everything else in the world. As
seen in The Day of the Dead by Octavio Paz, Paz explains how poor villagers... Show more content

Through a coordinated effort, RSA worked with law enforcement, the intelligence community, and
other commercial entities.
RSA s actions stand in contrast to many corporations that do not acknowledge breaches of sensitive
information systems for fear of alarming shareholders and exposing the corporation to lawsuits
(Gross, 2011). Even when evidence points to nation state involvement (most often China), many
companies still refuse to acknowledge breaches. The fear of offending the Chinese and jeopardizing
their share of that country s exploding markets is reason enough to remain quiet (Gross). Despite
mounting evidence, the U.S. government, for its part, has been fecklessly circumspect in calling
out the Chinese (Gross).
Incident Recovery
Recovery after the breach at RSA was not limited to the RSA environment. Due to the widespread
implementation of RSA tokens across industry and government agencies (and its contractors) the
breach had far reaching implications across multiple sectors.
In an attempt to mitigate potential attacks on its customers environments related to the stolen
information, RSA outlined nine steps customers could take to harden their IT infrastructures and
reduce their chances of being breached (Gov InfoSecurity). While the recommended steps were
followed by defense contractor Lockheed Martin, they were later breached in an attack related to

flying! Jet propulsion! It has another definition when it comes to an animal that lives in water but
it s original physical definition is the jet of matter passed by the thrust produced in the opposite

book, his name is Asta s son since he lives with his mother and never knew his father. He grew up
with no personal name and little dignity because he and his mother were so poor. Later, he
becomes the servant of Bear and finds out he is the son of LordFurnival, the Lord of his small

son, he is sought to be silenced and killed. At the end of the book, he chooses to become what he
wants to really be, a free man who decides where his own path will take him. Crispin realizes that
he ultimately decides who he will serve while doing what action. The social restrictions that

The Medico Religious Plants Of Assam, India
The Medico Religious Plants of Assam, India The following is a study into the various plants
for both medical and religious use in the area of Assam, India. The following peoples will be
compared in this study: the Hajong, the Mishing, and the Tiwas; just three of a vast array of
tribes located on the state of Assam in India. Assam has been found to be a wealth of information
on Ethnobotanicals: starting with plants used in socio religious practices; restrictions and taboos
on certain sacred plants; plant associations with deities; sacred plants that are repellents for gods
and evil spirits that cause diseases; and plants used in divination for the recovery of lost items.
These plants are regarded as sacred for social, cultural and religious purposes; to the Assamians all
surrounding vegetation is considered religious ground. The research for this study will include
discovering the types of holy plants used, what parts of the plants are used and what is the purpose
of the plant within the performance of a ritualor other ceremony? Also with the three peoples
being studied, what are the differences in use of plants for each group? What are the similarities?
Are there any variations on the type of plant species used, or variation on the performance of ritual
or ceremony, with similar plant usage? By the conclusion of this paper it is believed all these
questions will be

Proteins Are Colonic Epithelial Receptors For C. Difficile...
Finally, a paper published in September 2016 reveals that frizzled proteins are colonic epithelial
receptors for C. difficile toxin B [22]. As they are introducing their studies of identifying
potential TcdB receptors, they highlight some downfalls in previous studies, such as the fact
that whilst CSPG4 was showed as an interacting receptor with Toxin B in HeLa and HT29 cells
[17], CSPG4 is not actually present in the colonic epithelium [23]. Also, they comment on the
fact that PVRL3 was shown only to be associated with TcdB cytotoxicity and not proof of
PVRL3 acting as a receptor itself [13], however, there was evidence of PVRL3 interaction with
TcdB, as discussed above [14]. This study used a genome wide screen via CRISPR/Cas9
mutagenesis and identification of TcdB resistant mutants, which identified the Wnt receptor
frizzled family (FZDs) as TcdB receptors [22]. This mutant screening with native TcdB also
confirmed CSPG4 as TcdB receptor and further studies showed it is CROP dependent [17, 22].
The highest ranking mutant of plasma membranes when screened with the truncated TcdB1 1830
was FZD2, a member of the Wnt receptor frizzled family (FZDs) [22]. In healthy cells, the Wnt
signaling, in which FZD proteins contribute to, are critical signal pathways involved in
proliferation and self renewal function of colonic epithelial cells [24, 25]. TcdB competes for Wnt
to bind to these regions, inhibiting Wnt signaling, which in turn affects the health of colonic cells
[22]. It

Psychological And Emotional Factors Of Anorexia Nervosa
Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder that makes people lose more weight than is considered
healthy for their age and height. (1Anorexia Nervosa MedlinePlus) They may be afraid of gaining
weight, even though they are are underweight. They will have extreme control over their food and
calorie intake, and exercise intensely. Individuals with this condition usually have low to extremely
low weight, and body fat. Most patients are malnourished. Patients with this disorder have a
disturbed body concept.
Disease Distribution This is an individual disorder and is not contagious, but will affect the whole
family. The exact cause is not known. There may be many factors contributing to the disease. There
may be genetic influence. People may be genetically predisposed to certain tendencies. Hormones
may affect the development. Environment and our society have a huge impact on anorexia nervosa.
Western society emphasizes being skinny is better, especially for young girls. Psychological and
emotional factors can trigger and propel this disorder.
Risk Factors There are many risk factors for anorexia nervosa. Simply being female makes for a
higher risk, although males can also be anorexic. Age is a factor, being younger, especially a
teenager, brings a higher risk of this eating disorder. It is less common among adults. Having a
negative self image, or being focused on perfection. Family history also plays a part. Someone who

be attributed to the fact that the face of failure was invisible to the decision makers compared to

The Reformation Of Henry VIII And The Protestant Reformation
The Protestant Reformation was a 16th Century movement aimed at reorganising beliefs and
practices of the Roman Catholic Church which had fallen to unpopularity in recent years. There are
many argued causes of the reforms and it is controversial to suggest that any one had significance
over the others. To fully explore the causes of the reformations in England it is necessary to
consider the position of Henry VIII, legitimate dissatisfaction many English people held with the
Roman Catholic church, and other social factors.
Henry VIII largely influenced the reformations in England. One of the Kings main reasons for
pushing for a Protestant England came from the fact that he wished to separate from his first wife,
Catherine of Aragon. Henry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Henry VIII had many reasons to lead England towards reform, including more power amongst the
fellow leaders of his country, and economic, social, and political reasoning s.
Many English people had legitimate dissatisfactions with the way the Roman Catholic Church was
being run in the 16th Century. To maximise the income of the church, priests popularised the
selling of indulgences. The church preyed on the vulnerable, exploiting them for money in
exchange for the belief that their relatives would not be existing in purgatory. There were three
main areas used to exploit money from Catholic followers relics, indulgences, and pilgrimages.
Small groups of reformers addressed the issues with these unnecessary sales and brought awareness
to parishes which led to distrust of the churches. As a religion, Roman Catholicism appoints a lot of
power to the Pope which many people in England sought issue with partially because the Pope had
little to no idea what was happening in their country (unlike the King, who would become the head
of the Church of England), and partly because of apostolic succession which suggested that power
and authority should be passed on to their successors. This was a problem for many people as no
religious scriptures stated that apostolic succession should be enforced. The 16th Century saw
many religious people coming to the realisation that the Roman Catholic Church was not leading

Comparing The Rate Of Reaction Between Calcium Carbonate...
Investigate the rate of reaction between Calcium Carbonate and Hydrochloric Acid at different
concentrations
Aim:
To Investigate the rate of reaction between Calcium Carbonate and
Hydrochloric Acid at different concentrations.
Background Knowledge:
I know from my knowledge of science, that by adding together a carbonate and an acid, that a salt,
water and Carbon Dioxide are produced. Therefore in order to measure the rate of reaction, one of
these products needs to be measured, and the rate at which it is produced can be used to define the
rate of the reaction. The methods that can be used are either to measure the mass of the solution at
intervals. Or to measure the produce of gas (Carbon Dioxide).
Prediction:
Using the known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Increasing the molarity of the acid, will result in more gas being produced simply because there is
a higher concentration of acid, thus more acid molecules within the solution. This will mean that
the acid molecules with react with the calcium carbonate more often than a lower molarity
solution. With more collisions, the chance of a reaction occurring also increases, and so with
more reactions, more gas will be produced. However, it is only the chance of reacting that is
increased, and therefore it is not definite that a reaction will take place, which is likely to be
responsible for any anomalous results. I need a minimum of six values. These will give a
distinguishable spread whilst remaining within a safe range
Volume of Gas (Outcome)
To be measured
This will be able to be easily measured using a syringe and so should give accurate results
Time (Controlled)

Through preliminary work, it has been seen that this is sufficient to get results which can be easily

This volume remains within the safe limit, whilst still allowing a good range of results to be
produced
Mass of Calcium Carbonate (Controlled)
20g
This is a safe mass of the solid, yet will still be enough to react with the acid and produce good
results
Temperature (Controlled)

Mary Godwin Research Paper
Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin was born on August 30th 1797 in London, England
She was daughter of political writer and philosopher William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft, a
famed feminist
Mary Wollstonecraft died from giving birth to Mary Godwin. Because of this, William had to care
for Mary and her half sister Fanny Imlay. Fanny is Mary s daughter from a previous affair she had.
In 1801, William got married to Mary Jane Clairmont, who also had two kids. After they got
married, they had a kid together. Mary did not like Clairmont. This was because Clairmont sent
off Mary s half sister, Jane, to a school, but felt that she didn t need to educate Shelley at all.
Despite this, Mary sought to educate herself, and made use of her father s large library, reading an
exuberant number of books.
In 1814, she started dating poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. Percy was a student of William Godwin.
However, Mary and Percy could not marry because Percy was still married to his first wife, and
later they fled to England with Mary s stepsister Jane. This made Mary s father very angry that she

thus the idea of Frankenstein hatched in Mary Shelley s mind. Sadness hit Mary once again,

Examples Of Wrongful Convictions
However, it is not always the case that a confession is the end of a case, as there is always the
chance that it was in fact a false confession. This is not something people usually suspect, as was
mentioned previously that people assume no reasonable person would admit to guilt if they were
innocent. Often times the false confessioncomes about through coercion and the tactics of police
attempting to obtain a confession no matter if it is accurate or not. There is a vast array of
options for police in trying to obtain a confession from a party that they feel is guilty believing
that the prospect of an accurate confession outweighs the possibility of obtaining a false one. It is
very common for an officer to simply lie to a suspect who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In come cases it does occur that the error in the conviction is caught and the person who was
wrongfully convicted gets the charges against them dropped and they are released from whatever
form of punishment the courts deemed acceptable however even so, the convicted has often spent
over 10 years in prison, or was executed by the state. More often than not, wrongful convictions go
undetected and this leaves researchers with a gaping hole in the research as one can only examine
the causes of wrongful convictions from the framing of wrongful convictions that have been
uncovered. From the first step of being wrongfully accused to the last step of being wrongfully
punished (whether that be community service, to incarceration, to being put on death row) many
factors go into the process of a person being wrongfully accused of criminal activity. This paper
theorizes that some of them main causes of a person being wrongfully convicted include the
suspect giving false confession typically under the pretense of police trickery, expert evidence being
erroneously gathered and/or presented for court, and the impact and validity of eyewitness
testimony against the accused. These three causes, working either in cohesion or separately all
contribute in a significant manner to wrongful conviction in the criminal justice system. On the
surface, studying and examining the causes of wrongful conviction is important so that we can be
informed and thus attempt to avoid these causes. However, the benefit of the examination of these
causes foes deeper than that. By examining the causes of wrongful conviction one can attempt to
disassemble and examine the systems set in place that allow for such errors or misuses of power
to exist in the first place. By doing this a person can then critically examine the criminal justice
system which could lead to taking the necessary next steps in essential

Improving quality of life and changing attitudes towards dementia is the main goal of dementia

It also shows the need for more effective treatment method to stabilize the disease process and
provide quality care for dementia sufferers. To achieve effective and excellence care on dementia,
biological, psychological and social approach to dementia has to consider because it provides an
understanding to people with dementia and help improved health practice, treatment and support
for better dementia care (Bowers Downs, 2008). Biological approach tackles the disease process
of dementia, the cause of brain injury and the changes in behavior pattern of dementia sufferers.
On the other hand, psychological approach to dementia involved the sufferer s reaction to the
injury, how they accept it and deal the situation. It also covers the effect of the disease process on
their communication and action in relation to others. Particularly, people with dementia, mostly
feel embarrassed and depressed by their brain injury. They are often angry, agitated and frightened
because of the disease but maybe it also means seeking help to avoid embarrassment and disgrace.
Dementia care in social domain explains the right of the person with dementia to enjoy and
experience significant social interaction. Friendly environment and venues with sociable care
provider that makes them comfortable and feels worthy is the focus. In addition, social identities of
the people with dementia should be valued and social

Exxon Valdez s Effect On The Environment

Hazardous Chemical Paper In March 1989, Exxon Valdez was the largest single oil spill in the
world (Gannon, M. 2014). The oil tanker at the time was being driven by Joseph Hazelwood. He
been drinking which caused him to be drunk which caused him to lose control of the oil tanker.
This caused the world s biggest oil spill at that time. The purpose of this chemical being
researched is that since it was the largest oil spill in history, it was so expensive which caused
financial conflicts in society. It caused a lot of environmental hazards, which affected all kinds of
marine life. Exxon Valdez was a global issue because it affected the whole world in many ways.

H.) . The polluters pay principle was brought out and people were saying that it needed to be
improved, because it was ignored by the government (Kroh, K.). That was the main reason
people were enraged because then they had to pay for it with their taxes which could have been
used for something else (Adler, J. H. 2000). During the incident of the Exxon Valdez spill there
were a lot of lawsuits filed from citizens because the government wasn t enforcing the law. The
government were saying that these policies were fair and they had things under control (Schneider,
K.). The U.S. Justice Department said they weren t charging the Exxon Valdez company money

together to solve this problem anyways so things didn t turn out to bad.
In conclusion, the Exxon Valdez oil spillleft a huge impact on the world and the marine life
around it. It had effects on a lot of people each with different viewpoints on this incident and what
went on after. When this oil spill happened, people took precautionary principle and started to
work on removing the oil right away. Something we can learn from this is that whenever big

The explicit presentation of the mathematics involved in...
The explicit presentation of the mathematics involved in the Arrhenius equation (Michels, Tsong,
and Smith 1983) rendered the parameters involved in glass hydration understandable. However, the
actual implementation of the physical processes described in the mathematical equations into a
model replicating the natural environment is a complicated problem hard to solve (Stevenson 1998).
THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODELS FOR THE UNDERSTANDING OF OBSIDIAN

In order to understand the obsidian hydration dating method, a model that can demonstrate the
process of glass hydration under a certain range of environmental conditions is needed. To

1999).
Correlation of Rind Width with Chronometric Dates
The initial strategy to document hydration rate development was the correlation of rind widths with
independent chronometric dates provided primarily by radiocarbon dating or dendrochronological
assays (Stevenson 1998: 1983 84). The limits of this method stem largely from the uncertainty of
the association between the obsidian fragment and the absolute date. The result of this method has
been weakened by its failure to provide rate equation (Meighan 1983).
Induced Hydration Model:
In an innovative approach to the rate development problem, Ambrose (1976), Friedman and Long
(1976) initiated the Induced Hydration approach. Flakes of obsidian were hydrated at one
atmosphere in a reaction vessel raised to temperatures between 95В°C and 245В°C. Drops of water
were injected at regular intervals into the vessel in order to maintain the environment at 100%
relative humidity at one atmosphere of pressure. But the experiment failed to reproduce the actual
hydration rate since the continuous refill of the surface layer of molecular water through moisture
condensation has resulted in an excessive dissolution of glass matrix, hence did not allow the
hydration layer to develop in a manner that reflects periodic replacement (Stevenson et al. 1998)
Michels et al. (1983) Alternate Model:
An alternate model of rate development has been presented by Michels and his colleagues (1983)
several years later. In their model,

Essay On Inventory Management
One of the most important aspects to consider when comparing the current purchasing strategy
with the proposed one is the impact of direct deliveries from external suppliers to the central
warehouse on the lead times of spare parts which are ordered by the warehouse planners. Lead
times have a big influence on inventoryplanning and replenishment policies and lead time savings
can be very beneficial for the business of a warehouse and the performance of a SPSC (de
Treville et al. 2004). Hiller and Liebermann (2001) regard unnecessarily long lead times as a form
of waste and minimizing or avoiding waste as a key component of superior inventory management.

when the supplier is located closer to the warehouse than to the respective factory.
The lead time reductions which could be realized with a change from the current to the proposed
purchasing strategy would lead to several improvements for the warehouse planning which are
presented in the following. Shorter lead times would facilitate a more flexible and customer
oriented planning and would lead to a reduction of uncertainty. According to the BAAS planners,
this uncertainty could be reduced especially in the context of forecasting the demand during the
lead time. Obviously, the lead time demand forecasts would be more accurate when the lead
times could be reduced because the shorter the demand period which has to be forecasted is, the
more precise will be the forecast.30 In addition, shorter lead times would consequently lead to
lower demands during the lead time and would result in less variability. Lower lead time
demands, less variability and a reduction of uncertainty would automatically reduce the necessary
safety stocks at the warehouse. Hence, shorter lead times would also result in a reduction of
average inventories, reorder levels and order up to levels. Decreasing average inventories imply
less capital tied up in inventory and higher stockturns. Moreover, less average inventories mean less
inventory holding costs. The head of the BAAS planning department mentioned two additional
positive aspects of shorter lead times. Firstly, large and

on tax, it cuts down the production. In China real estate case, it not directly reduces the production
as the tax burden doesn t go to supplier, however it directly leads to the decrease of housing
demand and cooling down people s notion of housing is a store of wealth.
Recommendation and conclusion
In economics view housing price control is only a short term solution for maintain the stable
price. In the long run government shouldn t interfere too much in a mature property market as
the market itself has the ability to adjust the price and balance the demand and supply.
Moreover, whether the local property industry actually can achieve the goals that government
set and is the new property tax will continue implement in other cities or it will be abolished is
still uncertain. As we can see, there is a gap between the government policy and actual practice
due to the real Chinese society situation and people s conception. Housing price has become one
of the most urgent issue in China for a period of years and actually in later 2008 and 2009 some
big cities housing price had a obvious decrease, such as Guangzhou city. The main reason is not
because of governmental macro control but the global financial crisis.

Raising A Minimum Wage
A 2015 CBS/New York Times survey found that 71 percent of Americans favored an increase to
the minimum wage. (Doyle, pg 2). What if I tell you that raising a minimum wage is not a good
idea for our society? Would you believe that increasing a minimum hourly rate might cause more
harm than good in a long run? What if setting a high minimal wagewill actually kill many jobs and
increase unemployment? Did you think that this raising minimum wagegames are the never ending

people s life?
A lot of politicians, to be perceived as caring, concerned and compassionate, love to talk about
raising a minimum wage. And immediately majority of poor people see the politicians as heroes
who stood up to protect them from greedy employers. Now people perceive the issue with the
minimum wage as a war between employees and employers. This is happening because not too
many people know what raising a minimum wage actually means, what are the long and short time

creating an environment where people can freely share their ideals, one ideal could bounce off
another one and creates lots of other options for the company. The problem, would be is how to
help employees become more creative and innovative. Recommendations, is taking the time out
to praise and reward the employees for doing more with less and for going above and beyond
their normal duties. The company could sponsor some kind of competition where employees can
increase and encourage some friendly competition between workers. Ask employees it they have
any suggestion or input, by doing this you make them feel like their part of the team and not just

The Department of Homeland Security was initiated as a result of the worst terrorist attack in
United States history, September 11th, 2001, with the purpose of providing protection for the
American people from a wide variety of terrorist threats. On March 24th and 25th, 2014, President
Barack Obama along with 52 other world leaders travelled to The Hague, Netherlands for the 2014
Nuclear Security Summit. While there the President stated in the U.S. National Progress Report,
Nuclear terrorism represents the most immediate and extreme threat to global security, requiring a
strong and enduring commitment to domestic and worldwide action. (Department of Homeland

Nuclear Forensics and the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office
Nuclear forensics is one of the two key elements of nuclear security. Nuclear forensics is the
analysis of seized contraband nuclear or radioactive material and any corresponding material in
order to provide evidence that will assist in identifying the source of the nuclear or radioactive
material and determine its point of origin (International Atomic Energy Agency, 2006). Nuclear
forensics also covers the use of the information gathered by the original analysis to determine the
routes of transit and any corresponding equipment. The process of nuclear forensics and evidence
gathered can ultimately to be instrumental in the prosecution of all those responsible (International
Atomic Energy Agency, 2006).
Domestic Nuclear Detection Office is the primary entity for nuclear detection in America. Detection
is another of the key elements the Department of Homeland Security focuses on improving
constantly, through the use of its Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, in order to continue to strive
towards fending off terrorist attacks, and providing protection for the American people as well as
assist in the international effort to enhance global nuclear security (Department of Homeland
Security 2, 2016). The DNDO s mission is to, Prevent nuclear terrorism by continuously improving

CSI Effect In Court Cases
The CSI Effect is the belief that television crime shows are effecting decisions made in the court
rooms from jurors. Prosecutors and Judges believe that these shows are causing jurors to be out
of touch with reality when it comes to making a decision about a case in the court room. The
Jurors are said to be out of touch with reality because they have a demand for conclusive scientific
evidence. People who experience the CSI Effecttend to think they are experts in the field. Many
forensic professionals have faced the occasional person at a crime scene telling them how to do
their jobs the way they saw it on CSI (The CSI Effect Crime Museum, n.d.).
The CSI Effect was first described in the media as a phenomenon resulting from viewing forensic ...

Unfortunately, life does not always imitate art. Evidence proved that in a number of Durnal studies,
that exposure to forensic science television drama series has altered the American legal system in
complex and far reaching ways. Jurors think they have a thorough understanding of science they
have seen presented on television, when they do not. In a case cited by Durnal, jurors in a murder
trial brought to the judge s attention that a bloody coat introduced as evidence was not tested for
DNA. The defendant admitted being present at the murder scene, so the test would not have thrown
light on the identity of the true culprit. The judge stated that television is to thank for jurors
knowing what DNA tests could do, but not when it was appropriate to use them. Another study
revealed 62% of defense lawyers and 69% of judges agreed that jurors had unrealistic expectations
of forensic evidence. Approximately half of the respondents in each category felt that jury selection
was taking longer than it used to, because they had to be sure that prospective jurors were not
judging scientific evidence by television standards (The CSI Effect,

Ralph Waldo Emerson s Self Reliance
In the essay titled, Self Reliance, written by Ralph Waldo Emerson, who is an essayist poet and
philosopher who took a particular interest in education. Eventually his wife passed away a year
after they were married which led him to a devastated stage but still triumphed in life no matter
what society told him. Sometimes we tend to listen to society and want to fit in but is this who
we really are? Or are we becoming who they want us to be? In his essay, he points out that
society s only desire is wealth and success, but to get that we have to follow our own beliefs. He
makes us understand that what ever obstacles life throws at us, we have to keep our heads up and
continue with our existence and express our nature. Also, he tells us to set an example for others to
follow and without being judged which leads Ralph... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ralph Waldo tells us that today s society only desires wealth and success but in order to succeed
we have to ignore negative things that cross our paths. Eventually, some people don t have the
courage to move on and succeed. Life throws us obstacles and sometimes that desire fades away.
Waldo explains to us that success is not easy but we have to continue with everyday struggles no
matter what negative things are thrown at us. In his essay he talks about self reliance and this
makes us reflect on what we should be doing instead of following others. In his essay he stated, For
nonconformity the world whips you with its displeasure. And therefore a man must know how to
estimate a sour face (Waldo 366). What Waldo pushes us to understand is that no matter what
negative things are told to us we should not listen to them. You can always get up and start over
instead of becoming something lower than what

Summary Of Zhang Ailing s Lust, Caution
Lust and Caution in Zhang Ailing s Lust, Caution
As the title suggests, Zhang Ailing s story Lust, Caution centralizes the themes of lust and caution
in the relationship between the Mr. Yi and Wang Jiazhi to represent the complex human nature. Lust
in this title specifically contains multiple meanings of love, desire, and relationship. Similarly,
caution means alert, self control, and ring. Zhang Ailing puts these two themes together to represent
the complicated internal consciousness of people in a man and woman relationship and dynamic
between man and woman.
During the Republican China, there were no other female writers who paid typical attention on
depicting sex successfully except Zhang Ailing. She has studied many western feminism ideologies,

On the surface, it s a story that tells how a traitor is risked by a sex trap by a passionate young
student, which fits the traditional ideology for men to be alert facing beautiful and sexy
women. However, under the surface, Zhang Ailing intends to express her sympathy towards
women. Women employ their bodies and loves to be the sacrifices for men to enjoy the honor
and pleasure. In Jiazhi s case, she sacrificed her body to achieve the nationalist goal but her
classmates mocked her and discriminated her. She fell in love with Mr. Yi and tried to save his
life but then lost her own life. Before and during the trick, the innocent Jiazhi actually has no
idea about the nationalist goal as well as the sacrifice and risk in this trick. She merely imagines
herself in an exciting play. once Mr. Yi calls her at the first time, Jiazhi fell in to the status of
playing the role. When she tries the diamond ring, she still considers that as a tool in the play. So
when Mr. Yi hurried to pay for the ring and leave, she is concerning if her classmates do not have
enough time to prepare behind the stage. However, her classmates think totally differently. They
employ Jiazhi as a trick tool simply and regard her an indulgent woman because of her beauty and
sexy appearance. The relationship between Jiazhi and her classmates embodies another form of
caution towards the companions, which reflects the complex and turbulent society that oppressing

Building An Information Technology And Information Systems
Introduction
Over the period of time due to the establishment of an information technology and information
systems, enterprises have experienced a constant increase in their size, scope and complexity. So
functional or logical construction and model representations are needed to manage and organize.
In 1990 s and earlier, a lot of Enterprise Architecture(EA) emerged out of IT function. It is very
much about dealing with problems of the day to day. We have real world IT systems which do not
interoperate with each other or share information. So, there is a lack of focus on IT integration and
interoperability.
In 2000 s and to till date, enterprises shifted to be business focused on Enterprise Architecture.
However there are a lot of middleware and tools that helps us to keep things communicating to each
other and making a seamless interoperation. Hence, the focus is now changed more on to the
business architecture.
It is very much important to start up the business architecture aspects with enabling the business
changes or transformations within an organization; it is which EA aims to. EA framework is all
about conceptualizing the strategic business decisions.
Generally EA focuses on increasing revenue or profits of the enterprise, managing business
transformation activities, identifying the consolidated areas for cost reduction and so on.
Enterprise Architecture Definition
Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a process of describing the structure and behavior of an enterprise

These are movies about Fraternities and Sororities that everyday people associate with Greek life; alcohol, drugs, hazing,Togo parties, manipulation, and debauchery in forms of the imagination. Although these things do happen on many levels, as the war cry of the title Admit Nothing, Deny Everything , there are many positives. I have personally been positively influenced by a sorority that has permanently changed my life forever. My freshman year of college, I went through recruitment and was chosen to be a pledge sister for Delta Zeta Sorority. I was immediately surrounded by older DZ sisters who became my friends and mentors. I was also made to jump out of my comfort zone with the many projects, and fundraisers the sorority did. I worked with hearing impaired children, I created the homecoming float, and I organized formals and mixers. Compare And Contrast Bradstreet And Taylor Anne Bradstreet s In Memory of My Dear Grandchild Elizabeth Bradstreet, Who Deceased August, 1665, Being a Year and Half Old and Edward Taylor s Upon Wedlock and Death of Children are elegies written in early colonial America. Bradstreet and Taylor were contemporaries of each other, and while Bradstreet became well known for her poetryduring her lifetime, Taylor was not discovered until years after his death. The poetry that they wrote was controversial in Colonial America because it was not written using plain style, a type of writing which avoided the use extra biblical references and shifted attention from the writer. Both writers wrote their respective elegies to express the grief they felt in the loss of their offspring. • 7. The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Cameron Underwood Mrs. Greenlee Honors English III June 1st, 2015 Independent Novel Project The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Knowledge Section Significance of Title When considering the background behind the novel s title, not much is immediately apparent; for the title is literally just the main character s name, and the affirmation that there will be some adventuring going down somewhere within the story. Further analysis is not really possible unless the name of the said protagonist is considered. The name Huckleberry does not refer to any actual huckles, or berries, or even any actual huckleberries; it instead was a slang word in the early 19th century typically used in self deprecation that roughly meant: small, unimportant person. It was also used to describe anything that was just right for a task. Finn is a quite very Irish masculine name that means white or Fair haired. So with that little tidbit, a clearer picture of the title is gained. This book is about an insignificant blonde guy who will go an adventure of sorts. And that s just what Mark Twain needed. Genre and Setting Huckleberry Finn is realistic /historical fiction novel based on the pre civil war era in America. It also could be considered a satirical novel, as a lot of the characterizations are done in an intentionally humorous way, such as Huck s general country bumpkin style stupidity and mannerisms, along with Jim s old wives tales that keep coming true, and the duke and the king s noble ... Difference Between Narrative Content And Narrative Form As described in Ways of Reading , narrative content is a collection of represented events, along with the participants in those events and the circumstances of those events. (Ways of Reading 260) and narrative form is the way in which those events are represented through a particular narrative medium (Ways of Reading 260). In other words narrativecontent is the events that happen throughout a story and narrative form is the way we are shown these events throughout the story. Content order and form order. Content order is the chronological order of events (Ways of Reading 260), which is the order in which the events really happened. Form order is the order in which the narrative presents these events to us (Ways of Reading 260). In simple narratives the form order and the content order are usually the same, so the event that we read about first, we assume that this event was what happened first. Unlike in more complex narratives where there can be a manipulation or mismatch in the order of events, which means that the first event we read about might not be the event that actually occurred first in the story. An example of narrative order in The Awakening is The two women went one morning to the beach together, arm in arm, under the huge white sunshade (Chopin 15,28). Henrik Ibsen s Hedda Gabler and Bertolt Brecht s Mother Courage and Her Children Henrik Ibsen s Hedda Gabler and Bertolt Brecht s Mother Courage and Her Children present two strongly defined female heroines whose actions not only adversely affect the other characters lives but also suggest a fundamental problem with their societies. Both playwrights establish the macroscopic view of society s ills in the microscopic, individual characters of Hedda and Mother Courage. Though Ibsen depicts Hedda as a cold, unnatural creature who cannot love her husband, her child, or even her lover Lovborg, she nevertheless remains a victim in life and, by her suicide, in death. Society holds no place for Hedda other than as a wife or mother, and the implication remains throughout the play that Hedda, as an intelligent individual, has wasted her intelligence and abilities on her domestic role. Hedda channels her creative energy into a fruitless, harmful end, and the coldness of her character matches the idea that anyone opposing the social roles set forth for them must exist as an unnatural, unfeeling creature. If her life has given her a cage, then her death, which seems to free Hedda, in actuality only gives yet another destructive manifestation of her energies. Ibsen implies, by her death, that the only way Hedda finds freedom from an oppressive system lies in the internalization of her destructive actions, or her suicide. Though Hedda, in view of this restrictive society, potentially evokes our sympathetic emotions, she nevertheless makes choices Ibsen carefully delineates in the play that lead to her ultimate destruction. Perhaps the greatest tragedy underlying both Hedda s character and the play as a whole remains with Hedda herself, for she ultimately chooses to take what society offers her Tesman and the life of a social wife. These reliefs are similar to other Assyrian reliefs in terms of their purpose; however, there is a contrast in the methods used to glorify the king. In term of stylization, both the human headed deities and Assurnasirpal have very stylized hair falling in straight locks to the back of their necks; furthermore, they possess highly stylized beards of intricate waves and ringlets which end evenly at the bottom. Because these features are similar to that of Assurbanipal and the mythological bullmen at the palace at Khorsabad, it can be construed that it is a coiffure characteristic of royalty and divinity alike (Art History Anthology 28). Moving on to the facial expression, we find that all the human headed figures contain large eyebrows, large eyes that are deeply undercut, an elongated nose, conventionalized ears, and highly conventionalized lips which appear as a simple slit. On the other hand, the beardless griffin has an eagle s head adorned with a feather headdress and a curved beak with a long tongue. To show the strength of the deities and Assurnasirpal, the artist depicts muscles within the arms and legs through simple lines and curves. This style of depicting the facial and body features is common in other Assyrian reliefs including the hunting scenes of Assurbanipal. Weaknesses of IR Although there are a lot of strengths for IR, it is not the silver bullet that will completely change accounting forever. One of the main weaknesses of IR is the expenses that come with measuring such a comprehensive range of factors that include non monetary factors that can be hard to actually measure (Eccles Krzus, 2010). It can be unappealing for smaller companies or organisations to set up all of these systems in order to provide a wider perspective of their business or organisation just to please stakeholders, when the costs will outweigh the potential profits of attracting new investors. Another issue would be potential information overload for less knowledgeable individuals who will simply be overwhelmed by all the information provided by IR. There is a question of how important is it to report more comprehensively if the end user will simply be unable to use all of the information to their advantage, which raises another question of if it is worth reporting in an IR format at all. Time is also a major issue for some companies who may have less labour to spare in order to report on what can be considered less important aspects of an organisation, especially if it is a small to medium sized enterprise. There have been reports of some integrated reports being three times as longer than estimated to be completed (Eccles Saltzman, 2011). In the works of Octavio Paz s The Day of the Dead , Guy Maupassant s The Necklace , and Shirley Jackson s The Lottery , they have people who live in a society where social acceptance is important when being judged by others, the readers see people get together and forgetting about their real lives, decisions being made that are influenced by society, and attending events where the society becomes as one. • 23. Proteins Are Colonic Epithelial Receptors For C. Difficile... Finally, a paper published in September 2016 reveals that frizzled proteins are colonic epithelial receptors for C. difficile toxin B [22]. As they are introducing their studies of identifying potential TcdB receptors, they highlight some downfalls in previous studies, such as the fact that whilst CSPG4 was showed as an interacting receptor with Toxin B in HeLa and HT29 cells [17], CSPG4 is not actually present in the colonic epithelium [23]. Also, they comment on the fact that PVRL3 was shown only to be associated with TcdB cytotoxicity and not proof of PVRL3 acting as a receptor itself [13], however, there was evidence of PVRL3 interaction with TcdB, as discussed above [14]. This study used a genome wide screen via CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis and identification of TcdB resistant mutants, which identified the Wnt receptor frizzled family (FZDs) as TcdB receptors [22]. This mutant screening with native TcdB also confirmed CSPG4 as TcdB receptor and further studies showed it is CROP dependent [17, 22]. The highest ranking mutant of plasma membranes when screened with the truncated TcdB1 1830 was FZD2, a member of the Wnt receptor frizzled family (FZDs) [22]. In healthy cells, the Wnt signaling, in which FZD proteins contribute to, are critical signal pathways involved in proliferation and self renewal function of colonic epithelial cells [24, 25]. TcdB competes for Wnt to bind to these regions, inhibiting Wnt signaling, which in turn affects the health of colonic cells [22]. It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. The Reformation Of Henry VIII And The Protestant Reformation The Protestant Reformation was a 16th Century movement aimed at reorganising beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church which had fallen to unpopularity in recent years. There are many argued causes of the reforms and it is controversial to suggest that any one had significance over the others. To fully explore the causes of the reformations in England it is necessary to consider the position of Henry VIII, legitimate dissatisfaction many English people held with the Roman Catholic church, and other social factors. Henry VIII largely influenced the reformations in England. Henry VIII had many reasons to lead England towards reform, including more power amongst the fellow leaders of his country, and economic, social, and political reasoning s. Many English people had legitimate dissatisfactions with the way the Roman Catholic Church was being run in the 16th Century. To maximise the income of the church, priests popularised the selling of indulgences. The church preyed on the vulnerable, exploiting them for money in exchange for the belief that their relatives would not be existing in purgatory. There were three main areas used to exploit money from Catholic followers relics, indulgences, and pilgrimages. Small groups of reformers addressed the issues with these unnecessary sales and brought awareness to parishes which led to distrust of the churches. As a religion, Roman Catholicism appoints a lot of power to the Pope which many people in England sought issue with partially because the Pope had little to no idea what was happening in their country (unlike the King, who would become the head of the Church of England), and partly because of apostolic succession which suggested that power and authority should be passed on to their successors. This was a problem for many people as no religious scriptures stated that apostolic succession should be enforced. Investigate the rate of reaction between Calcium Carbonate and Hydrochloric Acid at different concentrations Aim: To Investigate the rate of reaction between Calcium Carbonate and Hydrochloric Acid at different concentrations. Background Knowledge: I know from my knowledge of science, that by adding together a carbonate and an acid, that a salt, water and Carbon Dioxide are produced. Therefore in order to measure the rate of reaction, one of these products needs to be measured, and the rate at which it is produced can be used to define the rate of the reaction. The methods that can be used are either to measure the mass of the solution at intervals. Or to measure the produce of gas (Carbon Dioxide). Prediction: Using the known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Increasing the molarity of the acid, will result in more gas being produced simply because there is a higher concentration of acid, thus more acid molecules within the solution. This will mean that the acid molecules with react with the calcium carbonate more often than a lower molarity solution. With more collisions, the chance of a reaction occurring also increases, and so with more reactions, more gas will be produced. However, it is only the chance of reacting that is increased, and therefore it is not definite that a reaction will take place, which is likely to be responsible for any anomalous results. I need a minimum of six values. These will give a distinguishable spread whilst remaining within a safe range Volume of Gas (Outcome) To be measured This will be able to be easily measured using a syringe and so should give accurate results Time (Controlled) 10 seconds Through preliminary work, it has been seen that this is sufficient to get results which can be easily read off apparatus

In 1801, William got married to Mary Jane Clairmont, who also had two kids. After they got married, they had a kid together. Mary did not like Clairmont. This was because Clairmont sent off Mary s half sister, Jane, to a school, but felt that she didn t need to educate Shelley at all. Despite this, Mary sought to educate herself, and made use of her father s large library, reading an exuberant number of books. In 1814, she started dating poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. Often times the false confessioncomes about through coercion and the tactics of police attempting to obtain a confession no matter if it is accurate or not. More often than not, wrongful convictions go undetected and this leaves researchers with a gaping hole in the research as one can only examine the causes of wrongful convictions from the framing of wrongful convictions that have been uncovered. From the first step of being wrongfully accused to the last step of being wrongfully punished (whether that be community service, to incarceration, to being put on death row) many factors go into the process of a person being wrongfully accused of criminal activity. This paper theorizes that some of them main causes of a person being wrongfully convicted include the suspect giving false confession typically under the pretense of police trickery, expert evidence being erroneously gathered and/or presented for court, and the impact and validity of eyewitness testimony against the accused. These three causes, working either in cohesion or separately all contribute in a significant manner to wrongful conviction in the criminal justice system. On the surface, studying and examining the causes of wrongful conviction is important so that we can be informed and thus attempt to avoid these causes. However, the benefit of the examination of these causes foes deeper than that. By examining the causes of wrongful conviction one can attempt to disassemble and examine the systems set in place that allow for such errors or misuses of power to exist in the first place. The explicit presentation of the mathematics involved in the Arrhenius equation (Michels, Tsong, and Smith 1983) rendered the parameters involved in glass hydration understandable. However, the actual implementation of the physical processes described in the mathematical equations into a model replicating the natural environment is a complicated problem hard to solve (Stevenson 1998). THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODELS FOR THE UNDERSTANDING OF OBSIDIAN HYDRATION RATES In order to understand the obsidian hydration dating method, a model that can demonstrate the process of glass hydration under a certain range of environmental conditions is needed. To implement this, the nature of the concerned materials i.e. glass and water should be adequately ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1999). Correlation of Rind Width with Chronometric Dates The initial strategy to document hydration rate development was the correlation of rind widths with independent chronometric dates provided primarily by radiocarbon dating or dendrochronological assays (Stevenson 1998: 1983 84). The limits of this method stem largely from the uncertainty of the association between the obsidian fragment and the absolute date. The result of this method has been weakened by its failure to provide rate equation (Meighan 1983). Induced Hydration Model: In an innovative approach to the rate development problem, Ambrose (1976), Friedman and Long (1976) initiated the Induced Hydration approach. Flakes of obsidian were hydrated at one atmosphere in a reaction vessel raised to temperatures between 95В°C and 245В°C. Drops of water were injected at regular intervals into the vessel in order to maintain the environment at 100% relative humidity at one atmosphere of pressure. But the experiment failed to reproduce the actual hydration rate since the continuous refill of the surface layer of molecular water through moisture condensation has resulted in an excessive dissolution of glass matrix, hence did not allow the hydration layer to develop in a manner that reflects periodic replacement (Stevenson et al. 1998) Michels et al. Essay On Inventory Management One of the most important aspects to consider when comparing the current purchasing strategy with the proposed one is the impact of direct deliveries from external suppliers to the central warehouse on the lead times of spare parts which are ordered by the warehouse planners. Lead times have a big influence on inventoryplanning and replenishment policies and lead time savings can be very beneficial for the business of a warehouse and the performance of a SPSC (de Treville et al. 2004). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... when the supplier is located closer to the warehouse than to the respective factory. The lead time reductions which could be realized with a change from the current to the proposed purchasing strategy would lead to several improvements for the warehouse planning which are presented in the following. Shorter lead times would facilitate a more flexible and customer oriented planning and would lead to a reduction of uncertainty. According to the BAAS planners, this uncertainty could be reduced especially in the context of forecasting the demand during the lead time. Obviously, the lead time demand forecasts would be more accurate when the lead times could be reduced because the shorter the demand period which has to be forecasted is, the more precise will be the forecast.30 In addition, shorter lead times would consequently lead to lower demands during the lead time and would result in less variability. Lower lead time demands, less variability and a reduction of uncertainty would automatically reduce the necessary safety stocks at the warehouse. Hence, shorter lead times would also result in a reduction of average inventories, reorder levels and order up to levels. Decreasing average inventories imply less capital tied up in inventory and higher stockturns. Moreover, less average inventories mean less inventory holding costs. The head of the BAAS planning department mentioned two additional positive aspects of shorter lead times. Firstly, large and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
