Romeo And Juliet And Tybalt s Death
If you stabbed someone in the chest and the person dies doesn t that mean you killed said
person. One Hundred percent of deaths caused by a other person is called murder. Romeo is the
cause of Tybalt s death because Romeo stabbed him, Romeo did not walk away, and Romeo acted
out of pure anger and revenge. One example that Romeo is the cause of Tybalts death because he
stabbed him. Tybalt straight took a blade to the chest from Romeo. After the death of Mercutio
Romeo got into a fight with Tybalt and ended up stabbing him. They was first fighting with swords
but then they both ended up losing them in the fight so they started using their hands. Tybalt was
on the floor while Romeo got up and found a sword and stabbed him while he was defenseless.

Literary Elements In The Jungle, By Upton Sinclair
The Jungle Essay
In the novel The Jungle by Upton Sinclair there are many ways that different literary elements are
used to explore a political or social issue. One main issue has to do with the meat packing industry
and how the workers are treated. In the novel, the main character had moved to America to find
work and live the American Dream but his time in America was anything but a dream. Upton
Sinclair uses many literary elements in his work to show imagery, metaphors/ similes and
personification all why relating to the social issue of the packing industry.
Sinclair uses imagery well to go in depth when describing the setting of a place or when talking
about the living conditions of his characters. For example in chapter two when Jurgis

The Case Of British Airways
Discussion Board # 1
Johan Rivera
Liberty University British Airways (BA) is a company that encountered several difficulties back in
the 1970 s and 1980 s. The poor performances of the organization, was leading the company to
failure. BA was offering a service that even though it accomplished the mission of the company, was
not providing customer satisfaction. The organization was not taking into consideration the needs
of the costumer and was not providing an acceptable customer service experience. Productivity at
BA in the 1970s was strikingly bad, especially in contrast to other leading foreign airlines (Jick,
Peiperl, 2010, p.28). Due to numerous changes, the company increased their revenues and became a
respectful and well know organization.
Re Energizing
In the reading Re energizing the Mature Organization , the authors provide several stages that
organizations can approach in order to achieved success in organizational change. The case of
British Airways, can be related to this article because the company went through the changing
challenges that allowed the organization to overcome the idea of failure. BA understood that in
order to increase sales and remain competitive, they had to develop new strategies and concepts
that would re energize the company. Mr. Colin Marshall, Chief Executive of British Airways, took
the responsibility to grow and re stablish the costumer services department. As a leader, he provided
tools that allowed employees to connect with

The Red House Research Paper
Victorian architectural styles are used in modern residential construction of today. The alluring
attraction of the Victorian house has made the Victorian era a traditional symbol of elegance and
class. Architects like Philip Webb embraced the essence of the Victorian architectural style. Known
as the father of the Arts Crafts Movement, along with his friend and designer William Morris. Philip
Webb is most famous for his comfortable, unpretentious country homes, and urban terraced houses.
Philip Webb also designed furniture, wallpaper, tapestries, and stained glass.
He elaborates the regionalisms, choosing the comfortable, traditional, and functional instead of
conforming to the lavish Victorian embellishment. Philip Webb s homes articulated... Show more

The single family home was created for Morris and his wife. The two story red brick and masonry
home was designed in Bexleyheath, a southeastern suburb of London, England. The English
Romantic style house serves as a essential structure of the Arts and Crafts movement. Building on
the Red House was completed in 1860.
The Arts and Crafts Movement started in England during the 19th century evironmental effects
from the simple and repetitious designs that were derived from the machine made products during
the industrial revolution. Philosophers of the Arts and Crafts movement determined that designs
being created lacked aesthetic value. During that time the dull designs associates to the extensive
use of machinery and the loss of the personal human touch.
The Red House is one of the first designs of architecture in the Arts and Crafts Movement. In the
summer of 1858, William Morris decided that he would have his dear friend Philip Webb design
him a house on an orchard in the hamlet of Upton at Bexleyheath. Morris was an architect
himself. However, his lack of experience and success led him to hire Webb as the lead architect
on the project, with Morris as the driving inspiration. The location was an ideal site for Morris new

Kfc Case Studies Campaign Essay
Case Studies Campaign Analysis
KFC Extra Crispy Sunscreen
Situation
Kentucky Fried Chicken has recently gone through a branding remodel. Through this remodel, KFC
learned that 76.5 percent of their customers were unaware that KFC offered an Extra Crispy Fried
Chicken Recipe. Customers only associated KFC with their Original Recipe meaning that if they
were looking for a crispier fried chicken option then they may go to another restaurant. KFC saw
this lack of knowledge as an opportunity to educate their customers and other people that KFC
does in fact offer an extra crispy recipe. KFC found that millennials were not typically engaged
with their brand, so they also wanted to develop a campaign that reached the millennial audience.
With Labor Day weekend approaching, KFC saw it has their opportunity to leverage the last
summer holiday.
Objectives
This campaign included an output objective, informational objective, and behavioral objective.
Below please find the KFC Extra Crispy Sunscreen campaign objectives.
Break through the news cycle (Output)
Generate 350 million media impressions (Informational)
Increase sales of Extra Crispy Fried Chicken (Behavioral)
This campaign was missing an attitudinal objective. The output and behavioral objectives were not
specific and measurable with a timeframe and the informational objective was specific and
measurable but did not have a timeframe. A critique would be that this campaign did not make all
their objectives specific and

Using material from item A and elsewhere, assess the usefulness of Marxist approach to an
understanding of crime and deviance (21 marks) There are numerous Marxist theories that help us
to understand crime and deviance in different ways, however they are all based around the same
ideas. They believe capitalism causes crime in three different ways including, selective law
enforcement, criminogenic capitalism and ideological nature of the law. Traditional Marxists
believe that crime is inevitable in all societies because capitalism is criminogenic suggesting that it

As well as defining individuals as social failures directing the blame away from the system. And
thirdly defining criminals as animals and sick for example, justifying putting them in prison.
Keeping these individuals out of the public eye allows us to forget why the crime occurred
needed to help us solve the problems. Traditional Marxists also explore the ideological nature of
the law; this function is valuable in allowing the ruling class to maintain their position of wealth.
This process is what Althusser named the ideological state apparatus. This includes the school
and the variety of forms of media, and it is through these that the ruling class is able to socialise
individuals into accepting ruling class ideology. ISAs are responsible for promoting ruling class
values of self interest and competition and as a result create a society in which basic values
support the capitalist political and economic system. Marxists also believe that crime and the
law can perform an ideological function by essentially brain washing individuals. For example
some laws may appear to benefit the working class for example the health and safety laws at
work, but these, according to a Marxist Frank Pearce are only there to benefit the capitalists by
ensuring a fit and healthy work force. In addition to this by prosecuting a large proportion of the
working class it makes it look like the capitalists are

The Book of Jonah Essay
It is thought that Jonah, the fifth of the Minor Prophets, lived during the reign of Jeroboam II,
when the kingdom was divided. (Lockyer, 198) Although the Book of Jonah is quite short, just
two and one half pages, it is not short on themes. Because there are so many themes it is hard to
classify or to determine its primary message. (Anchor 936 and New Interpreter s 490) These
themes range from running away, praying, second chances, anger, and God s compassion and
mercy, to name a few. The following will provide a brief explanation of each theme, previously
mention, as it relates to the Book of Jonah.
The first theme, running away and its consequences can be found in Chapter 1:1 2:1. Jonah is
called by God to go to Nineveh and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Verse 5 states that each sailor cried to his god, which tells the reader that the sailors were pagans;
therefore, the later interpretation is more likely. (New Interpreter s 496) The sailors cast lots to
see whose fault it is for this situation. Using chance to find the perpetrator insinuates that it took
divine intervention to single out Jonah. (New Interpreter s 498) The sailors ask Jonah who he
was and where did he come from and Jonah s answer was I am a Hebrew. He also stated I
worship the Lord, the God of heaven who made the sea and the dry land. The sailors believe that
Jonah has brought the storm to them and asks What have you done? and What shall we do with
you? (New American 1011) Feeling the weight of his guilt of running away from God, Jonah tells
the sailors to throw him overboard. They comply unwillingly. Now the Lord still had a mission for
Jonah and so he sent a large fish to swallow him up, which is where he stayed for three days and
three nights. Certainly, the safest and simplest thing Jonah could have done would have been to go
to Nineveh and preach against the city; therefore, running away is never a better answer.
The second theme, prayer, occupies the majority of Chapter 2, specifically verses 3 10, the Psalm
of Thanksgiving . This is thought to have been a later addition to the story, due to the fact that
Jonah had not been saved yet. (Anchor 939) However,

The Pros And Cons Of Cochlear Implants
Cochlear Implants are an object that is very controversial in the deaf community. A Cochlear
Implants is a device that provdes direct electrical stimulation to the auditory (hearing) nerve in the
inner ear. ( Cochlear Implants ) Cochlear Implants bypass the damaged hair cells, and directly
stimulate the auditory nerve. Depending on when the Cochlear Implantis implanted it allows people
to hear sounds, and sometimes even their own voice. While it does not cure hearing loss or
deafness, it does allow people to hear. On more technical terms a Cochlear Implant includes
parts like a microphone, speech processor, and a transmitter which each play a different part in
the Cochlear Implant. The microphone picks up sounds, sends them to the speech processer,
and then the speech processor analyzes and digitized the sound signal, thus sending them to a
transmitter worn on the head. The debate of whether or not Cochlear Implants are right in the
deaf community is one that has been going on for years. People believe having Cochlear
Implants are a good thing, because they allow deaf people to communicate with hearing people, it
allows people who are not helped by conventional hearing aids to be helped, and it creates new
possibilities for deaf people. However there are also people that argue that having a Cochlear
Implant is a bad thing, because it proposes the idea that deaf people need to be fixed, it can give
deaf people false hope, and it proposes the idea that deaf people have a

Latin American Debt Crisis And Its Results
LATIN AMERICAN DEBT CRISIS, THE SOLUTIONS AND ITS RESULTS.
As it known the debt crisis of the 1980s is the most traumatic economic event in Latin America s
economic history. During the lost decade , the GPA fell from 112% to 98% of the world average,
and from 34% to 26% of the developed countries average. Development countries were giving loans
to Latin American countries to enable them to straighten their economies. However, they have had
difficulty repaying their debt. Latin American borrowing from US commercial banks and other
creditors increased dramatically during the 1970s. At the end of 1970, total outstanding debt was
only $29 billion. but by the end of 1978, that number increased to $159 billion. By 1982, the debt

Secretary Baker underlined the importance of foreign and equity investment as non debt creating.
This can have a compounding effect on growth by bringing innovation and technology and help to
keep the capital domestic. The plan proposed the private banks and institutions to keep lending to
the indebted countries. The banks could provide new loan of $20 billion over a three years period
and the World bank and the Inter American Development Bank could contribute an additional $9
billion. The Baker plan called for an annual increase of around 2.5% in commercial lending but the
bankers were uneasy with this request because the plan was reliant on continuing accumulating debt
to finance growth. Without strong assurances on the new loans, it would be very difficult to
increase international spending. The Baker plan had mixes results. The plan was efficient towards
the 15 largest debtors and it neglected the needs of smaller countries. A few of the worst indebted
countries had made progress in adjusting their external sector during 1986 1988 and the threat to
the international banking system has subsided, for the time being. The plan failed because the new
lending proposed was insufficient. Also, the debilitating effects of high interest rates and low
commodity prices were not addressed. There was not one significant contribution that it has been

The Demise Of The Andersen Accounting
The Enron scandal was one of the most notorious bankruptcies of all time. Many people know about
the energy titan s downfall but less realize that it was also one of the biggest auditing blunders in
American corporate history, leading to the dissolution of the Arthur Andersen LLP, which at the
time was one of the five largest auditing and accountancy partnerships in the world. The most
intriguing aspect of this case is that Andersen was eventually cleared by the United States Supreme
Court, yet the company still failed to live on due to its tarnished reputation stemming from its
unethical behaviors. The pressure to generate revenue for clients while simultaneously auditing
their books became too large a burden for the firm and they eventually resorted to unethical means
to achieve their objectives. The demise of the Andersen accounting firm shows the true importance
of practicing good ethicsand maintaining a good reputation amongst peers; the vitality of the
business could depend on sustaining a clean image in the ever changing business world. Although
there were many problems that led to Andersen s demise, the major ethical issue that plagued the
accounting firm was a conflict of interest due to their dual roles as both an auditing and consulting
firm. Andersen provided financial advice to clients in order to increase revenue streams. The firm
was very adept at this; in fact, by the the end of the 20th century, Andersen LLP had helped tripled

Art or art therapy has the power to help people in general in terms of expression and combating
depression. This is due to the fact that it is a way for people to express themselves when they
are unhappy in a less direct and creative manner that allows them to experience a sort of release
of negative emotions. The creative process of art itself is unlimited and vast. Its ideology is
solely based on self expression, which is free and unrestricting. Moreover, artistic communities
tend to be less judgmental on whether the art itself is right or wrong (Zahovaeva, 2014). Thus, it
can be seen that these are good reasons why a person with disabilities might want to join the artistic
sphere. Scientific research has shown that art does have meditative effects where it renders stress to
relaxation in a person s physiology. In different researches, changes in brain wave patterns,
autonomic nervous system, hormonal balance and brain neurotransmitter have occurred as a result
of listening to music (Zahovaeva, 2014). Art in medicine is not a new concept, ancient rites of
healing were performed hand in hand with music, dance and drama to emphasize the healing
process (Zahovaeva, 2014). Within the context of disability studies, this proves to be greatly
advantageous because art is both beneficial in terms of its ability to affect psychological as well as
physiological side of people. Rubinstein, a Russian psychologist, claimed that

scholars have on his fiction. Lawrence Broer and Gloria Holland of The University of Alabama
argue that Hemingway has an inability to portray women as independent, strong and sympathetic,
therefore why should women continue to read, teach and write about his work (Broer, Holland 7).
In contrast Margaret Bauer proposes that the problem critics have with Hemingway s female
characters is not that they are one dimensional, but that they are not the central characters (Bauer
126). Throughout this paper short stories by Hemingway like Indian Camp, Hills Like White
Elephants, The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Cat in Rain and The
Last Good Country. Throughout the research studies have shown that female scholars criticize
Ernest Hemingways stories passed on prior knowledge to what they have heard about him.
However, other scholars read Hemingway s work with an open mind and make their interpretations
afterward. The research has shown both negative and positive responses to Hemingway s

Death And The Maiden Rationality
Rationality vs. Will Power: A Fight for Closure Psychological damage strikes the core of an
individual and can lead to irrational actions and poor judgement. Through an examination of
Paulina Salas actions throughout Death and the Maiden, Ariel Dorfman successfully characterizes
her as a survivor through her fight for closure. Although her ways may not seem rational, her fight
symbolizes the desperation felt by victims of the torture in Chile. This demonstrates that strength
cannot always be measured in rationality, but more so in the will power of an individual. This is
seen in the way Paulina acts towards Dr. Roberto Miranda, her reaction to Gerardo joining the
Rettig Commission, and her search for personal justice for the duration of the... Show more content

Paulina believes there will be no justice for her, and when she finds out about Gerardo s new
task, her pursuit for what is right begins to develop, and Dorfman is able to characterize her as
damaged and wanting justice prior to the introduction of Dr. Miranda. Gerardo was appointed as
the lawyer to the Rettig Report created by the first democratic president Patricio Aylwin to
investigate humans rights violations following Augusto Pinochet s communist rule of Chile. The
commission only pursued violations ending in death or presumption of death and the idea is
that if [the commission] throw light on the worst crimes, other abuses will also come to light
(9). Paulina starts to get edgy and starts getting defensive towards Gerardo after she discovers the
commission only investigates cases of death, and this means Paulina would not receive a trial.
This makes Paulina furious, as she was under the impression that her and Gerardo would be able
to put Paulina s torturer and the others all on trial. Another key phrase that demonstrates Paulina s
continuous fight for the justice she deserves is when Gerardo refers to the cases he will
investigate as the ones that are beyond let s say, repair. and Paulina responds with Beyond repair.
Irreparable, huh? (9) To Paulina, her case is beyond repair too, and to a high degree. She is
haunted to listen to Schubert, just because of her torture.

Summary Of Josiah Strong
Josiah Strong is mostly concerned that Catholicism and Mormonism is a treat to the progressive
nature of the United States. He has a much greater fear of the Catholics or Romans as he calls
them. He believes that what they stand for is a danger to the declaration of independence based
on the ideas they stand for. The examples he gives are that the Catholics are opposed to the public
school system, approve union of church and state, censor freedom of press and speech, teach
religious intolerance instead of liberty, they have loyalty to the popeand not to the states, abide by
the commands of the pope and not of the constitution, and they have sovereignty for the pope and
not the people (371) He questions how the Catholics could both swear loyalty

What goes into a good statement of strategy? Michael Porter s seminal article What Is Strategy?
(HBR November December 1996) lays out the characteristics of strategy in a conceptual fashion,
conveying the essence of strategic choices and distinguishing them from the relentless but

question of how to describe a particular п¬Ѓrm s strategy. It is a dirty little secret that most
executives don t actually know what all the elements of

Italian American Encounter Essay
When people are stuck to one certain lifestyle and one idea, there is not change. Sometimes there
needs to be risks taken. The earth consists of a variety of different experiences, and when people are

foreign concepts and ideas which can either be disregarded or learned through encounter. True
exchange with these alien subjects is difficult since there has to be something that is given up, but
there cannot be growth or wisdom gained without something lost. That growth or wisdom can thus

Jamaica Kincaid
Girl by Jamaica Kincaid and If by Rudyard Kipling are 2 poems that have a parent writing to their
kid trying to teach them in a different way. In Girl , there is a mother writing to her daughter to
tell her directions to become the perfect girl. In If , the father writes to his son to teach very
important life lessons. These two poems have a similar topic but a different setting and theme.
There is going to be some evidence and reasoning to back up the similarity and differences. A
similarity between the poems is the topic of parents writing to their children to teach them. At
the very end in Girl , it states you mean to say that after all, you are really going to be the kind of
women who the baker won t let near the bread? Similarly, in If, And which is more, you ll be a
man my son! which was stated in the last stanza. This evidence first shows a parent speaking to
their child. Secondly, it shows the writing of the parents to teach their kids in their own ways. Both
parents are speaking for a meaning. This topic runs through both of these poems that shows parent

Jack Kerouac was an American writer and poet of French Canadian descent who made a
significant mark in history in writing during the post World War II era. He was recognized as the
leader of the Beat movement generation and most popular book, On the Road which was published
in 1957. The Beat Generation was known as the movement that was started by a group of authors

of authors of the Beat Generation included Neal Cassady, Allen Ginsberg, William Burroughs, Sal
Paradise and others. Majority of the work of the Beat Generation was recognized and published

It was a day like any other, it started with the sun rising above the hills and the light reflecting off
of the dew on the grass. However, everything would soon change, when four warriors unlikely to

Deallus and his friend Ffyddlon, Unig, and Cyfiawn. They all had heard of a group of men
terrorizing the city of Tynged, they went on a killing spree every night. Each warrior had their
own reason for going to the city to face these terrible men. For Deallus and Ffyddlon, it was for

Deallus tried to fight him but Seico overpowered him. Ffyddlon saw the attack and lunged in
front of Deallus, and ended up getting stabbed in the side. Realizing what had just happened, in
a fit of rage Deallus sliced Seico s head clean off. He then rushed over to Ffyddlon mumbling
words of encouragement, he then placed pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding, he ripped
part of his shirt and tied it around Ffyddlon s waist. When Ffyddlon had enough strength he
stood up and was ready to fight again. He was a very strong man who had endured a lot worse in
previous battles. Unig was attacked by Wallgof who had been in so many battles he went mad.
Wallgof did not have any weapons and Unig deemed that unfair so he threw his sword away and
settled to hand to hand combat. Unig was clearly the better but hated to resort to violence, but he
reasoned with himself that this man had killed people and overpowered him and with one swift
blow to the head, rendered him unconscious. He then got some rope he had packed and tied his
hands and feet. When Unig got up he realized Cyfiawn was still fighting Wyneb Coch, he called

President Ronald Reagan And President Reagan
Being president is a huge responsibility, and there are some who have done an excellent job.
Then there are others who have made our economy, as well as our country, go down the drain.
However, I have to hand it to President Ronald Wilson Reagan, because the time he was in office
he really pumped the country up, and did a tremendous job running it as well as helping in every
way he could. Ronald Reaganwas born on February 6, 1911, in Tampico, Illinois. Reagan passed
away June 5, 2004, and was buried in Simi Valley, California. He graduated from Eureka College
in 1932 with a Bachelor s of Arts degree in social science and economics. Before Mr. Reagan was
president he was also an actor, and performed in 53 different movies. He was of the Christian
religion. President Ronald Reagan was the 40th president, and part of the Republican party. The
First Lady was Nancy Reagan, and the Vice President was George H.W. Bush while Ronald
Reagan was in office. They were successful with two terms together from 1981 until 1989.
Obviously Reagan liked politics, and definitely caught his attention since that is what he
graduated from college with. But, his political views really shifted from liberal to republican in
the 1960 s while supporting Nixon in Nixon s campaign in California against Pat Brown. Reagan
did quite a few General Electric speeches for Nixon as well in his campaign. The result from these
speeches was merely freedom is what the people got from these speeches.

Rosenberg (1979) viewed the self as made up of 2 elements, identity which represents cognitive
variables and self esteem which represents the affective variables.
Self esteem is operationally defined as:
Individual s feelings about his or her worth as a person, derived from the evaluation of various
salient dimensions of the self, namely psychological, social and physical or any other (Rifai, 1999).
Types of Self esteem
Korman (1986) suggests three types of self esteem. They are:
Chronic Self esteem
This type is defined as a relatively persistent personality trait or dispositional state that occurs
consistently across various situations. This self esteem is a result of past experiences and focuses
on one s competencies. An individual s confidence in his/her competencies directs the individual
into situations which require the use of those competencies.
Task Specific Self esteem
Task specific self esteem is one s self perception of his/her competence concerning a particular
task or job. This type of self esteem is the result of feedback, which comes directly from the
observation of he results of one s efforts.
Socially Influenced Self esteem
This type of self esteem is a function of the expectations of others. It results from communication
or feedback from reference group members or society as a whole, concerning the value of identity
and the individual s ability to meet the expectations of the reference groups and/or the society as a
whole.

The first step in the extraction of paracetamol was to crush the tablets. If I didn t do this then it
would have been difficult to dissolve them. To weigh them, we had to make sure that we used
the most accurate scales as possible as accuracy could be an issue. The spirit level should be

could have gotten over the top of the funnel and then we would have had insoluble impurities.
Also when doing this, we had to be careful that none of the filtrate ran down the beaker or we

The Multivisions of Multiculturalism Essay
The Multivisions of Multiculturalism
ABSTRACT: The questions suggested by the term multiculturalism range far and wide, embracing:
questions of inclusion; questions of criteria; questions of self identity; and questions of the meaning
of multiculturalism. In this essay I provide a framework: (i) that allows us to begin a discussion
that might answer such questions; (ii) that illuminates why it is that such a modest aim is the most
we can hope for at this time; and (iii) that provides an understanding of what we can do in a
multicultural world in order to illuminate what we should do. This framework will reject both the
idea of toleration as found in Berlin s conception of human choice and will speak of as maximal
multiculturalism, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This framework will prove to parallel a classic Hobbesianism, a universally undesirable result that
will, paradoxically, provide further direction and reason for hope.
1. One immediate response by many in the USA to such questions is an appeal to the ideal of
tolerance an ideal that Sir Isaiah Berlin, perhaps more than any thinker in our time, has defended.
Berlin s central argument for toleration is that belief in the one true view has repeatedly led to
disaster: One belief, more than any other, is responsible for the slaughter of individuals on the
altars of the great historical ideals... This is the belief that somewhere, in the past or in the future,
in divine revelation or the mind of the individual thinker, in the pronouncements of history or
science, or in the simple heart of an uncorrupted good man, there is a final solution. (1) A second
argument that Berlin offers for toleration is that we have no right to insist that all be educated in
our way, unless we know that we are pure and good precisely what we do not and cannot know.
As Tolstoy argued, the history of education is a history of tyranny, where each new school struck
off one yoke only to put another in its place. (2) But about one thing they were all agreed: that one

Theme Paragraph
#9;Leadership is a prevailing force in life, because one s ability to guide and direct a group
determines the outcome of that group s actions. Those who lead the strikers in the novel In Dubious
Battle by John Steinbeck manifest the idea that some leaders use violence and the thirst for
revenge to augment the spirit of their group. Violence is one tool of which the leaders of the
strikers use to give vitality to their group. The leaders feel that the intense nature of violence is
what provokes the group most out of the aspects of violence. Mac comments, quot; Some things I
do know, though. A smell of blood seems to steam em up. Let em kill somethin , even a cat, an
they ll want to go right on killin . If there s a fight, an our guys get first blood, they ll put up a
hell of a battle. quot; The leaders feel the intensity as London, Mac and Jim discuss, quot;I cold
cocked Burke... I seen you pointin , an I know what to do with em. A little blood set the guys
off. quot; (p. 331) The violence exacted by London brings the strikers to the level at which they
are willing to go into battle. Because violence is such an effective device, leaders like Mac look at
moments of violence as desirable opportunities. Some leaders also use the desire for revenge to
gain exuberance from their group. This desire for revenge stems from the desire to look out for
those who are victims of power. Mac explains,

Edward Gordon Craig Uber Marionettes
Edward Gordon Craig, a prominent English set designer and theorist from 1900, designed sets and
created modernist theories which greatly influenced modern theatre. Regarded as one of his most
controversial essays on theatrical discourse, The Actor and the Гњber marionette rendered Edward
Gordon Craig s critique on modern theatre. Although he appreciates actors and their work to a
certain degree, Craig advocates for the complete removal of actors from theatre and warns actors of
their misconceptions of actingas art form, providing the guidelines on what it means to be an artist
in his eyes. Denouncing actors entirely for their emotional and humanweaknesses, Craig hopes to
turn to a developing alternative at the time as their replacements, large scale puppets uber
marionettes whose purposeful movements, controlled emotional state, and crafted image work
together to create a deliberate impassioned performance. Despite sharing similarities with Craig s
uber marionettes and embodying some aspects of his philosophy, the Muppets ultimately differ in
the respect that they retain and emphasize a human element from humans acting with and through a
puppet.
As mentioned above, Craig holds the notion that these puppets or uber marionettes will bring about
a revival in modern theatre. This revival has to do with the reforming of the governing laws of
theatre and acting as an art. In his essay, Craig interprets art as the desired expression of an artist s

His idea of planning does not differ from what I learned in class; however, if I had to teach this

on division three athletics resembles what the book says. They do not have a lot of money to
bring in students; therefore, they must focus on providing a fun environment for the players that
do decide to play for them. I really enjoyed this experience because it made me want to branch
out and gain as much experience as I can. Coach Smith started right where I am at and is currently
in the process of working his way up through the ranks, hoping to reach the division one level
eventually. As he pushed his way from quality control coach here at Indiana, to coach at Marian

A Brief Note On Copyright And Remix Culture
How to Not Follow Copyright Law:
An Exploratory Essay on Copyright and Remix Culture
As time goes by, the rate at which art changes increases at a seemly exponential rate. Our culture
has more ways than ever to publish and distribute the things we make, and with the rise of the
internet we can reach any audience with a Wi Fi connection. This digital hyper connectivity has
led many artists to create new forms of art, some of which have gone on to start trends and
cultures. One of these cultures that has become a significant part of online media is Remix
Culture. The idea of taking someone else s art and making it your own is embraced and
cherished by some, and detested by others. As this genre of media has grown over the years, the
line between what is and isn t a remix has drastically blurred. Some will spend hours upon hours
making a song sound completely different from its original counterpart, while others will simply
chop it up and call it their own. Though laws were once effective when dealing with copyright
infringement, the rate art has grown has significantly surpassed the rate at which these laws have
changed. People are beginning to monetize their remixes in various ways, creating much
controversy surrounding who should be getting paid, or if anyone should get paid at all. As artists,
it is important to know what these laws are exactly, so we can either abide by them or find our own
workarounds.

As well as defining individuals as social failures directing the blame away from the system. And thirdly defining criminals as animals and sick for example, justifying putting them in prison. Keeping these individuals out of the public eye allows us to forget why the crime occurred needed to help us solve the problems. Traditional Marxists also explore the ideological nature of the law; this function is valuable in allowing the ruling class to maintain their position of wealth. This process is what Althusser named the ideological state apparatus. This includes the school and the variety of forms of media, and it is through these that the ruling class is able to socialise individuals into accepting ruling class ideology. ISAs are responsible for promoting ruling class values of self interest and competition and as a result create a society in which basic values support the capitalist political and economic system. Marxists also believe that crime and the law can perform an ideological function by essentially brain washing individuals. For example some laws may appear to benefit the working class for example the health and safety laws at work, but these, according to a Marxist Frank Pearce are only there to benefit the capitalists by ensuring a fit and healthy work force. (Lockyer, 198) Although the Book of Jonah is quite short, just two and one half pages, it is not short on themes. Because there are so many themes it is hard to classify or to determine its primary message. (Anchor 936 and New Interpreter s 490) These themes range from running away, praying, second chances, anger, and God s compassion and mercy, to name a few. The following will provide a brief explanation of each theme, previously mention, as it relates to the Book of Jonah. Verse 5 states that each sailor cried to his god, which tells the reader that the sailors were pagans; therefore, the later interpretation is more likely. (New Interpreter s 496) The sailors cast lots to see whose fault it is for this situation. Using chance to find the perpetrator insinuates that it took divine intervention to single out Jonah. (New Interpreter s 498) The sailors ask Jonah who he was and where did he come from and Jonah s answer was I am a Hebrew. He also stated I worship the Lord, the God of heaven who made the sea and the dry land. The sailors believe that Jonah has brought the storm to them and asks What have you done? and What shall we do with you? (New American 1011) Feeling the weight of his guilt of running away from God, Jonah tells the sailors to throw him overboard. They comply unwillingly. Now the Lord still had a mission for Jonah and so he sent a large fish to swallow him up, which is where he stayed for three days and three nights. Certainly, the safest and simplest thing Jonah could have done would have been to go to Nineveh and preach against the city; therefore, running away is never a better answer. The second theme, prayer, occupies the majority of Chapter 2, specifically verses 3 10, the Psalm of Thanksgiving . This is thought to have been a later addition to the story, due to the fact that Jonah had not been saved yet. (Anchor 939) However, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Cochlear Implants is a device that provdes direct electrical stimulation to the auditory (hearing) nerve in the inner ear. ( Cochlear Implants ) Cochlear Implants bypass the damaged hair cells, and directly stimulate the auditory nerve. Depending on when the Cochlear Implantis implanted it allows people to hear sounds, and sometimes even their own voice. While it does not cure hearing loss or deafness, it does allow people to hear. On more technical terms a Cochlear Implant includes parts like a microphone, speech processor, and a transmitter which each play a different part in the Cochlear Implant. The microphone picks up sounds, sends them to the speech processer, and then the speech processor analyzes and digitized the sound signal, thus sending them to a transmitter worn on the head. The debate of whether or not Cochlear Implants are right in the deaf community is one that has been going on for years. People believe having Cochlear Implants are a good thing, because they allow deaf people to communicate with hearing people, it allows people who are not helped by conventional hearing aids to be helped, and it creates new possibilities for deaf people. However there are also people that argue that having a Cochlear Implant is a bad thing, because it proposes the idea that deaf people need to be fixed, it can give deaf people false hope, and it proposes the idea that deaf people have a ... This can have a compounding effect on growth by bringing innovation and technology and help to keep the capital domestic. The plan proposed the private banks and institutions to keep lending to the indebted countries. The banks could provide new loan of $20 billion over a three years period and the World bank and the Inter American Development Bank could contribute an additional $9 billion. The Baker plan called for an annual increase of around 2.5% in commercial lending but the bankers were uneasy with this request because the plan was reliant on continuing accumulating debt to finance growth. Without strong assurances on the new loans, it would be very difficult to increase international spending. The Baker plan had mixes results. The plan was efficient towards the 15 largest debtors and it neglected the needs of smaller countries. • 18. The Demise Of The Andersen Accounting The Enron scandal was one of the most notorious bankruptcies of all time. Many people know about the energy titan s downfall but less realize that it was also one of the biggest auditing blunders in American corporate history, leading to the dissolution of the Arthur Andersen LLP, which at the time was one of the five largest auditing and accountancy partnerships in the world. The most intriguing aspect of this case is that Andersen was eventually cleared by the United States Supreme Court, yet the company still failed to live on due to its tarnished reputation stemming from its unethical behaviors. The pressure to generate revenue for clients while simultaneously auditing their books became too large a burden for the firm and they eventually resorted to unethical means to achieve their objectives. The demise of the Andersen accounting firm shows the true importance of practicing good ethicsand maintaining a good reputation amongst peers; the vitality of the business could depend on sustaining a clean image in the ever changing business world. Although there were many problems that led to Andersen s demise, the major ethical issue that plagued the accounting firm was a conflict of interest due to their dual roles as both an auditing and consulting firm. Andersen provided financial advice to clients in order to increase revenue streams. The firm was very adept at this; in fact, by the the end of the 20th century, Andersen LLP had helped tripled the per share revenues of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Art or art therapy has the power to help people in general in terms of expression and combating depression. This is due to the fact that it is a way for people to express themselves when they are unhappy in a less direct and creative manner that allows them to experience a sort of release of negative emotions. The creative process of art itself is unlimited and vast. Its ideology is solely based on self expression, which is free and unrestricting. Moreover, artistic communities tend to be less judgmental on whether the art itself is right or wrong (Zahovaeva, 2014). Thus, it can be seen that these are good reasons why a person with disabilities might want to join the artistic sphere. Scientific research has shown that art does have meditative effects where it renders stress to relaxation in a person s physiology. In different researches, changes in brain wave patterns, autonomic nervous system, hormonal balance and brain neurotransmitter have occurred as a result of listening to music (Zahovaeva, 2014). Art in medicine is not a new concept, ancient rites of healing were performed hand in hand with music, dance and drama to emphasize the healing process (Zahovaeva, 2014). This paper will explain how feminist scholars view Ernest Hemingway s fictional stories and why. The way female scholars view Hemingway s stories are important because readers have criticized Hemingway for use stereotyping women in his work and others have enjoyed his work. Therefore, it is important to learn about the different view female scholars have on his fiction. Lawrence Broer and Gloria Holland of The University of Alabama argue that Hemingway has an inability to portray women as independent, strong and sympathetic, therefore why should women continue to read, teach and write about his work (Broer, Holland 7). In contrast Margaret Bauer proposes that the problem critics have with Hemingway s female characters is not that they are one dimensional, but that they are not the central characters (Bauer 126). He was of the Christian religion. President Ronald Reagan was the 40th president, and part of the Republican party. The First Lady was Nancy Reagan, and the Vice President was George H.W. Bush while Ronald Reagan was in office. They were successful with two terms together from 1981 until 1989. Obviously Reagan liked politics, and definitely caught his attention since that is what he graduated from college with. But, his political views really shifted from liberal to republican in the 1960 s while supporting Nixon in Nixon s campaign in California against Pat Brown. Reagan did quite a few General Electric speeches for Nixon as well in his campaign. The result from these speeches was merely freedom is what the people got from these speeches. ... Rosenberg (1979) viewed the self as made up of 2 elements, identity which represents cognitive variables and self esteem which represents the affective variables. Self esteem is operationally defined as: Individual s feelings about his or her worth as a person, derived from the evaluation of various salient dimensions of the self, namely psychological, social and physical or any other (Rifai, 1999). Types of Self esteem Korman (1986) suggests three types of self esteem. They are: Chronic Self esteem This type is defined as a relatively persistent personality trait or dispositional state that occurs consistently across various situations. This self esteem is a result of past experiences and focuses on one s competencies. An individual s confidence in his/her competencies directs the individual into situations which require the use of those competencies. Task Specific Self esteem Task specific self esteem is one s self perception of his/her competence concerning a particular task or job. This type of self esteem is the result of feedback, which comes directly from the observation of he results of one s efforts. Socially Influenced Self esteem This type of self esteem is a function of the expectations of others. It results from communication or feedback from reference group members or society as a whole, concerning the value of identity and the individual s ability to meet the expectations of the reference groups and/or the society as a whole. • 35. Paracetamol Lab Report The first step in the extraction of paracetamol was to crush the tablets. If I didn t do this then it would have been difficult to dissolve them. To weigh them, we had to make sure that we used the most accurate scales as possible as accuracy could be an issue. The spirit level should be calibrated so that we can rule out the issue of accuracy. Another problem we could have had in the practical was the method of filtering. The filter paper could have been too small so the filtrate could have gotten over the top of the funnel and then we would have had insoluble impurities. Also when doing this, we had to be careful that none of the filtrate ran down the beaker or we would have lost some yield. The filter paper could have been poor quality ... • 36. The Multivisions of Multiculturalism Essay The Multivisions of Multiculturalism ABSTRACT: The questions suggested by the term multiculturalism range far and wide, embracing: questions of inclusion; questions of criteria; questions of self identity; and questions of the meaning of multiculturalism. In this essay I provide a framework: (i) that allows us to begin a discussion that might answer such questions; (ii) that illuminates why it is that such a modest aim is the most we can hope for at this time; and (iii) that provides an understanding of what we can do in a multicultural world in order to illuminate what we should do. This framework will reject both the idea of toleration as found in Berlin s conception of human choice and will speak of as maximal multiculturalism, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This framework will prove to parallel a classic Hobbesianism, a universally undesirable result that will, paradoxically, provide further direction and reason for hope. 1. One immediate response by many in the USA to such questions is an appeal to the ideal of tolerance an ideal that Sir Isaiah Berlin, perhaps more than any thinker in our time, has defended. Berlin s central argument for toleration is that belief in the one true view has repeatedly led to disaster: One belief, more than any other, is responsible for the slaughter of individuals on the altars of the great historical ideals... This is the belief that somewhere, in the past or in the future, in divine revelation or the mind of the individual thinker, in the pronouncements of history or science, or in the simple heart of an uncorrupted good man, there is a final solution. (1) A second argument that Berlin offers for toleration is that we have no right to insist that all be educated in our way, unless we know that we are pure and good precisely what we do not and cannot know. As Tolstoy argued, the history of education is a history of tyranny, where each new school struck off one yoke only to put another in its place. (2) But about one thing they were all agreed: that one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He has a very big temper and is stubborn in a way. Theme Paragraph #9;Leadership is a prevailing force in life, because one s ability to guide and direct a group determines the outcome of that group s actions. Those who lead the strikers in the novel In Dubious Battle by John Steinbeck manifest the idea that some leaders use violence and the thirst for revenge to augment the spirit of their group. Violence is one tool of which the leaders of the strikers use to give vitality to their group. The leaders feel that the intense nature of violence is what provokes the group most out of the aspects of violence. Mac comments, quot; Some things I do know, though. A smell of blood seems to steam em up. Let em kill somethin , even a cat, an they ll want to go right on killin . If there s a fight, an our guys get first blood, they ll put up a hell of a battle. quot; The leaders feel the intensity as London, Mac and Jim discuss, quot;I cold cocked Burke... I seen you pointin , an I know what to do with em. A little blood set the guys off. quot; (p. 331) The violence exacted by London brings the strikers to the level at which they are willing to go into battle. Because violence is such an effective device, leaders like Mac look at moments of violence as desirable opportunities. Some leaders also use the desire for revenge to gain exuberance from their group. This desire for revenge stems from the desire to look out for those who are victims of power. Mac explains, ... • 38. Edward Gordon Craig Uber Marionettes Edward Gordon Craig, a prominent English set designer and theorist from 1900, designed sets and created modernist theories which greatly influenced modern theatre. Regarded as one of his most controversial essays on theatrical discourse, The Actor and the Гњber marionette rendered Edward Gordon Craig s critique on modern theatre. Although he appreciates actors and their work to a certain degree, Craig advocates for the complete removal of actors from theatre and warns actors of their misconceptions of actingas art form, providing the guidelines on what it means to be an artist in his eyes. Denouncing actors entirely for their emotional and humanweaknesses, Craig hopes to turn to a developing alternative at the time as their replacements, large scale puppets uber marionettes whose purposeful movements, controlled emotional state, and crafted image work together to create a deliberate impassioned performance. Despite sharing similarities with Craig s uber marionettes and embodying some aspects of his philosophy, the Muppets ultimately differ in the respect that they retain and emphasize a human element from humans acting with and through a puppet. As mentioned above, Craig holds the notion that these puppets or uber marionettes will bring about a revival in modern theatre. This revival has to do with the reforming of the governing laws of theatre and acting as an art. In his essay, Craig interprets art as the desired expression of an artist s thoughts, emotions, ... • 39. Self-Evaluation Essay As a junior in high school, I started getting emails from a division three college known as Carleton. The purpose of these messages was to recruit me to come play football for them. After multiple exchanges, I then got in touch with their running back coach and recruiting coordinator, Coach Jerome Smith. I later found out that Coach Smith got his master s degree in athletic administration from Indiana University and had connections to the football program here as well. While he took classes towards his degree, he also worked closely with the football team as an operations intern and quality control coach. After recognizing his connection to Indiana University, I reached out to him via text message to see if we could discuss his position and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His idea of planning does not differ from what I learned in class; however, if I had to teach this topic to kids looking to go into coaching, I would make it specific to this field. Also, his outlook on division three athletics resembles what the book says. They do not have a lot of money to bring in students; therefore, they must focus on providing a fun environment for the players that do decide to play for them. I really enjoyed this experience because it made me want to branch out and gain as much experience as I can. Coach Smith started right where I am at and is currently in the process of working his way up through the ranks, hoping to reach the division one level eventually. As he pushed his way from quality control coach here at Indiana, to coach at Marian University, and then through multiple division three schools, Coach Smith took a small amount of knowledge from every position he held. Now, he finally got himself to an opportunity to learn how to coach and effectively recruit players to come to his school. Overall, I believe this interview was an important step for me to reach my career goals and I will use this experience to grow as a coach. I feel that this assignment is one that students should take seriously because it forces you to reach out to individuals that you may not have otherwise contacted. Being one step closer to my career goals, I can thank Coach Smith for teaching me to branch out and connect with as many people as possible just as he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. A Brief Note On Copyright And Remix Culture How to Not Follow Copyright Law: An Exploratory Essay on Copyright and Remix Culture As time goes by, the rate at which art changes increases at a seemly exponential rate. Our culture has more ways than ever to publish and distribute the things we make, and with the rise of the internet we can reach any audience with a Wi Fi connection. This digital hyper connectivity has led many artists to create new forms of art, some of which have gone on to start trends and cultures. One of these cultures that has become a significant part of online media is Remix Culture. The idea of taking someone else s art and making it your own is embraced and cherished by some, and detested by others. As this genre of media has grown over the years, the line between what is and isn t a remix has drastically blurred. Some will spend hours upon hours making a song sound completely different from its original counterpart, while others will simply chop it up and call it their own. Though laws were once effective when dealing with copyright infringement, the rate art has grown has significantly surpassed the rate at which these laws have changed. People are beginning to monetize their remixes in various ways, creating much controversy surrounding who should be getting paid, or if anyone should get paid at all. As artists, it is important to know what these laws are exactly, so we can either abide by them or find our own workarounds. As soon as a work is created in a tangible, fixed form, it is ...
