PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT OF INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES
The airline industry, like many other industries, is increasingly exposed to competition. Increased
competition has two effects on firms: it creates downward pressures on output prices, and it creates
incentives for improving productivity and efficiency. Many airlines have been forced to undertake
major restructuring in order to meet these challenges. Many researchers have used different model
to decompose changes in airline profitability into two components: productivity and price recovery
ability. The study concluded that increased competition in international air transport markets has
put pressures on carriers ability to raise prices. However input prices, like labor, fuel, materials,
flight equipment, ground property and equipment have been increasing. They also demonstrated
that airlines have made tremendous effort to improve efficiency to counteract such trends, yet large
fluctuations in profitability are still an ongoing reality. Due to these fluctuations in airline fortunes,
early warning systems of imminent distress are of benefit to management and airline stakeholders
such as creditors and investors. No prediction

Elements Of Visual Design In Star Wars
May Visual Design be with you
The visual design in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope transformed the film industry, setting new
standards for years to come. Through animation, detailed models, sets and computer controlled
motion photography, George Lucas created a futuristic sci fi that was realistic and gripping. In Star
Wars: A New Hope, one scene stands out from all others: the Binary Sunset scene. One of the most
iconic moments from all of Star Wars, the scene uses elements of visual design that display the
forces of good and evil, destiny, and most importantly, the recurring theme of hope.
In the scene, Luke Skywalker is presented wearing a flowy white tunic, khaki pants, and wrapped,
soft soled boots. Ostensibly these are the clothes of a farm boy living on the planet Tatooine which
were inspired by the rice farming boys in Japanese paddy fields, in conjunction with the desert
climate of Lucas s fictional planet. The clothing design contributes to the ambiance of the dry
atmosphere of Tatooine: the faded light color scheme complements the heat and sandy expanses.
Furthermore, Luke s hairstyle also presents his character as young and boyish diving further into
the delineation of his character. In later films, his costume thickens and darkens representing his
maturation and character development. His white tunic not only resembles his boyish innocence
but also the force and the power of good, a key theme Lucas borrowed from the serial westerns of
the 1940s and

Hershey Chocolate Co-Marking Case Study
Both Hersey Chocolate and Betty Crocker both have a notoriety for being delectable sweets that
individuals love to enjoy. The way to co marking is to pick a brand that will best compliment or
improve your items as well as administrations. The marking association between the two is
presence of mind in light of the fact that the Hershey chocolate makes the cakes, treats and different
pastries taste a great deal more tasty. There are many advantages to building a co marked
relationship in illustration, both of the organizations fabricate validity, and helps pick up the
enthusiasm of each other s market, costs are part between the two gatherings. A fruitful co marking
relationship relies upon collaborations among brands, clearness to the buyer, simplicity of
conveyance of item or benefit and the capacity to adequately coordinate the brands business
frameworks.
Both of these organizations chose to take their most grounded components of some of their items
and consolidate them with the best correlative things from the other to offer new products and

Post War Revolts In Canada
The post war revolts were demonstrations by soldiers and labourers protesting the conditions
which resulted after the ending of the war. Individuals all over Canada and the world expressed
their dismay at the current situation. Soldiers in Victoria revolted, there was increased tensions
from soldiers stationed in England, and even general labour strikes. These events all culminated in
a period of hypertension among the state and its citizens. When exploring the related weeks and
readings to the subjects, it can be seen that these effects were caused by the ending of World War I

Morton addresses this in his piece from the week. Demobilization is bringing back and taking
down resources and bringing troops back to Canada. The government did not have a proper
demobilization strategy, this left millions of soldiers displaced and stuck in Europe. What was
then seen is soldiers whose romanticized view of post war life was being destroyed, furthering
tensions. While stuck in Europe the tensions between high ranking officials and their subordinates
was increasing class and rank conflict within the military. This resulted in disgruntled soldiers, and
a fear that even when they came back home no jobs or opportunities would be available. This
created a hostile force of soldiers who felt that a government they had fought for was abandoning
them. This later led to the inclusion of many veterans in the general strikes of the

Definition Essay On Patriarchy
Guess What? You re a Feminist! Feminism is not a radical movement or a fringe movement or
an embarrassment or a fraud. Feminism is simple. The patriarchy does exist. To identify as a
feminist is to acknowledge that women are people, and, as such, women deserve the same
social, economic, and political rights and opportunities as other styles of people (i.e., men
people). To be a feminist is also to acknowledge that the world is not, currently, a fair and just
and safe place for women to exist. Because it is not. Obviously (see: everything ever). To deny
these things makes you, at worst, a bad person who hates women, including but not limited to:
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, your mother, Jennifer
Lopez s mother, Jennifer Garner s Aunt Marcy, Michelle Obama, Ellen DeGeneres, Cher, Julie
Andrews, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kraken Kardashian,
Karphone Kardashian, Kickball Kardashian, Kornkob Kardashian, and THE VIRGIN
FUCKING MARY. At best, it makes you a complacent idiot. ONE MORE TIME: If you are not
a feminist (or something blamelessly ignorant, like a baby or a ferret or a college freshman), then
you are a bad person. Those are the only options. You either believe that women are people, or you
don t. To help you pick one, here... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Arundel Partners Case
Arundel Partners: The Sequel Project
The maximum per film price for the sequel rights that Arundel Partners should pay is $5.12M.
If Arundel Partners were to use the traditional DCF methods to find the value of the sequel rights,
the NPV would be $8.42M loss per film (see Appendix 1).
Calculation Details
We assume that Arundel Partners will purchase a portfolio of films similar to one used in the
analysis. The average hypothetical net inflow of the sequel ($21.57M) is used to figure out the
value of the state variable for the real options model. The state variable is the average hypothetical
net inflow of the sequel, discounted using a WACC of 12.36% back to 1989. Discounting back to

This approach allows for valuing real assets with some degree of operating flexibility, incorporating
the value of the flexibility into the option price. It values the option to exercise but not the
obligation to make future investments. It is based on the law of one price (the price of two
portfolios with the same cash flows in every state of the world must be the same). Option value
increases with great uncertainty (see Exhibit 3). The major uncertainties are Arundel Partners
WACC and volatility of return on assets. A sensitive analysis shows the degree of changes with the
changing uncertainties. The major disadvantage of this approach is that it often requires changes in
business process. In Arundel Partners case, the terms and provisions in the contract will mitigate
some of the disadvantages.
Additional terms and provisions for the sequel rights portfolio

The maturity or expiration rate of exercising the sequel rights is 1 year. This will allow Arundel
enough time to make a decision about making a sequel and enable it to more quickly write off its
investment in rights it chose not to exercise.
Arundel Partners can chose to produce the sequel or hire another firm to do so.
Arundel Partners will grant right of first refusal to the studio on any rights it planned to sell. If the

Is the Gilgamesh Flood the Basis of the Biblical Flood?
Genesis of the Old Testament records a worldwide Flood early on in the history of human
civilization. Tablet 11of the Sumero Babylonian version of the epic of Gilgamesh also records a
total Flood of the entire earth very early in mankind s development. Let s examine the two to
determine if one could be the basis for the other.
Nels M. Bailkey in Readings in Ancient History: Thought and Experience from Gilganesh to St.

them needs to be emphasized: the Hebrew version has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Gilgamesh epic, Utnapishtim is not invested with any royal power or entrusted with any
priestly office; from it we learn simply that he was a citizen of Shurippak (Tablet XI:23) and a man
of considerable wealth (XI:70ff). (227)
N.K. Sandars in the Introduction to his book, The Epic of Gilgamesh, sums up the involvement by
the pagan gods in the Sumero Babylonian Flood narrative:
In the Gilgamesh flood Ishtar and Enlil are as usual the advocates of destruction. Ishtar speaks,
perhaps in her capacity as goddess of war, but Enlil prevails with his weapon of the storm. Only
Ea, in superior wisdom, either was not present, or being present was silent, and with his usual
cunning saw to it that at least one of the race of men should survive. (41)
Column 1 on Tablet 11 begins the Sumero Babylonian Flood narrative (Gardner 226). The sage
Utnapishtim from Shurippak (100 miles south of Babylon), says:
The great gods stirred their hearts to make the Flood.
[. . .] Build an ark.
[. . .] Load the seed of every living thing into your ark,
the boat that you will build.
Let her measure be measured;
let her breadth and length be equal.
Cover it with a roof as the abyss is covered. (Gardner 226)
There is no reason given by Utnapishtim for the deluge. On the contrary, the Judaic version of the
Flood in Genesis states in 6:5 8 a very clear, explicit reason for the

Concealed Handgun Will Reduce Crime
There is a growing crowd that believes having a law that allows individuals to carry a concealed
handgun will reduce crime because the criminal is less likely to attack someone if he has to
think twice whether that person is carrying a concealed handgun or not. The thought is that
concealed carry laws makes you safer in your everyday life because there is less of a chance of
being victimized. Although the statistics don t bear this fact, the loudest voice sometimes gets
the most attention and press coverage. New Hampshire s state motto is Live Free or Die.
Although the phrase came from a toast written by General John Stark, New Hampshire s most
famous soldier of the American Revolutionary War, the motto appears on the states license plates
and is commonly known among the locals to mean that everyone in the state carry s a concealed
handgun, and they would rather die than to give them up. The locals believe this is why their
crime rate is so low. However, being such a small state, with less urban areas and good economy,
concealed carry becomes more debatable. My goal in this paper is to show that concealed carry
laws don t reduce crime or make America safer. I will also talk about laws that have been enacted
all over the United States to allow gun enthusiast to carry, but the evidence doesn t support a
decrease in crime rates. To achieve this goal, I have researched several sources online, which I
have documented and have cited the sources at the end of my paper.

Religious Thinkers In Moliere s Tartuffe
The Enlightenment period was a revolutionary time in history. Countless thinkers during this time
challenged the traditional ideologies in an effort to bring in a new way of thinking that embraced
logic and reasoning. The majority of these attempted to combat the Catholic Church and its
oppressive influence on the government. Needless to say, religious and aristocratic leaders during
this time did not show very high regard to these thinkers, most were censored. imprisoned, tortured
and/or exiled from their countries. In his play Tartuffe, the French playwright Moliere depicts a
character named Tartuffe that is shown as a highly hypocritical religious person who was taken

Gluttony is seen near the beginning of act 1.4 where Dorine is sarcastically marveling at how
much Tartuffe ate during his meal: A brace of partridge, and a leg of mutton. In fact, he ate so
much, he popped a button! (Moliere, 63). Secondly, lust is seen throughout the play, as it is
mentioned multiple times that he is lusting after some of the women in the house, including
Elmire, Orgon s wife. Elmire actually uses his insatiable lust against him in act 3.3 in order to
expose Tartuffe for who he was to Orgon. Lastly, wrath and greed are seen shortly after this. When
Orgon jumps out from under the table where he was listening in to the whole affair, he tries to
banish Tartuffe out of the house, however, Tartuffe is greatly angered by this and blackmails Orgon
with letter that were given to him allowing him to inherit Orgon s house and fortune. This also
reveals that this was another one of Tartuffe s intentions all along, and he used his façade to
manipulate Orgon throughout this entire affair to get his fortune.
Lastly, Moliere depicts Tartuffe as sort of a pest or a nuisance. Tartuffe ...is even the canonic
example and the excellent model of the parasite. What is astonishing is that he had come to be the
personification of a hypocrite.

Australian Federalism
An appropriate recommendation for reform cannot occur without an understanding of the operation
of federalism and its strengths and weaknesses in the Australian context. In considering this, the
suitability of a federal system to the Australian environment both socially and geographically firstly
warrants acknowledgment. In a final report to the Council for the Australian Federation, it was said
that Australia s large land mass, remote locations, disparate regional areas and localised preferences
mean that a federal system of government is suited to the Australian context. It is important to note
that one of the key motivations behind the introduction of federalismto Australia was securing the
independence of states and autonomy in legislating.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The overlapping and duplication of policy responsibilities across governments, and these issues
that emanate from such disorganisation in the division and distribution of powers, evinces the
reality that federalism s flaws lie in its application, not its principles. While the limitations
outlined above clearly convey a need for reform, it is for this reason that any suggestion of
upheaval of a system that has the potential to enable a geographically large and diverse country
such as Australia to maintain national unity and meet the pressures of globalisation while at the
same time accommodating regional difference should not be adopted without consideration of
smaller scale reform that can improve its operation. The limitations outlined above will thus serve
as criteria for analysing the aptness of Option 2, as presented in the Terms of Reference, as the
most viable proposal for federal

How Did Winslow Homer Influence Art
One of the most highly regarded painters of the nineteenth century is Winslow Homer. From his
birth in Boston, Massachusetts, he began learning about art. Homer s mother was a water color
artist and taught him a lot of the techniques he used in his works. The Snap the Whip painting is
probably Homer s most famous paintingand exemplifies the ideals he tried to get across. All in all,
Homer was one of the most influential painters in American history. Winslow Homer was born in
Boston, Massachusetts on February 24, 1836. From an early age Homer showed interest in art.
His mother was a watercolor painter and taught him many of her techniques. Growing up in

A common theme for Homer was to make paintings that were reminiscent of the simpler times
before the Civil War and industrialization period. This is evident in one of Homer s most famous
paintings, Snap the Whip . This painting shows schoolboys, just released from the small local
schoolhouse, enjoying nature and playing outside. His paintings also had a common theme of
representing how the nation had become unified once again with the conclusion of the Civil
War. In his painting Snap the Whip , you can clearly tell this from the locking of arms between
boys representing teamwork. Oceans and bodies of water were also a common theme in his art
works. You can see this quite clearly in his 1876 painting Breezing Up . Homer s most common
art media was Oil Paint. Almost every single one of Homer s famous paintings is painted in oil
paint. Overall, Homer had many influences in his work, but the importance he placed on
simplicity before the complex post Civil War industrial period is ever present in all of his works.

Classical Conditioning And Observational Learning Analysis
Internet Activity #8
Each of us learn in different ways. I for one am a hands on learner. I learn best by getting my
hands on things and seeing how things work. I am not very good at learning things by simply
reading a book and taking a test. Although most of my schooling is just that. Many things influence
our learning as well, such as environmental. These can include reinforcements, observations,
associations, and punishment. Some of the primary learning theories I will discuss will be
classical conditioning, operant conditioning and observational learning. First I will discuss
classical conditioning. Classical conditioning was first discovered by Ivan Pavlov. But first let
me explain what classical conditioning is. The learning takes place when an association is
formed between a previously neutral stimulus and a naturally occurring stimulus, according to
Pavlov. He first noticed this in his experiments on the digestive system of dogs. The dogs began
to salivate whenever the dogs saw the white coats he was wearing, prior to being fed. He paired
the natural stimulus of food with the sound of a bell. Then the dogs would naturally salivate in
response to food. Then after several associations, the dogs would salivate to the sound of the bell.
So this is how classical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was first discovered by a psychologist by the name of B.F. Skinner. He was more interested in
learning how the consequences of actions influenced behavior. This is similar to classical
conditioning because it relies on forming associations. In operant conditioning associations are
made between a behavior and the consequences of that behavior. According to Skinner, when a
behavior leads to a desirable consequence, it becomes more likely that the behavior will be
repeated again in the future. When the action is negative than the outcome is likely to occur. This
is how operant condition became about and who discovered it. Next is observational

Graphic Design And Art And Design
Often times a painting has the same structure as a design. The details can be similar for both
Graphic Design and Fine Art. Paintings such as Son of Man by Magritte which has basics such
as shadow, highlight, simple composition, and a dull color palette. A design for Apple Laptops
was created of a decal of Son of Man. This design also had shadow, light, basic composition, and
an achromatic color palette. The structure is the same, but one is created digitally and one is a
painting. The processes can also be very similar. Many artists use technology in their artwork.
They use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, programs for designers and use it to create
their artwork. Artists such as Jeff Koons who manipulates images on Photoshop, prints it and
paints hyper realistic paintings from those images. The structure and process for art and design
can be very similar. Can an artist be a designer or vise versa? One argument that critics make is
that artists are just artists or that a designer is not an artist. However there are countless artists
who are designers and vise versa. One famous designer would be Eva Zeisel. Eva Zeisel is
famous for creating a body of dinner sets which she created after she was released in Russia.
While imprisoned, Zeisel found inspiration in the curves of her own body claiming it was the only
art she had. Afterwards she created useful art which was her groundbreaking design of minimalist
dinnerware, (Eva Zeisel, groundbreaking designer, dies). Her

How Does Monetary Policy Affect Housing Development

BUS 2203: PRINCIPLES OF FINANCE 1
BUS 2203 AY2017 T1
UNIT 2: Interest Rates
MONETARY POLICY AND HOUSING MARKET DEVELOPMENTS
INSTRUCTOR: Sali Bakare
DATE SUBMITTED: 09/14/2016
Abstract
After reading the paper carefully, I see that the role the setting of monetary policy played in housing
market developments was smaller than a lot of researchers suggests, although monetary policies do
really influence in housing market developments. One can easily conclude monetary policy was not
a primary cause of the bubble in house prices and activity. Yes, there was a contribution by the fed s
interest rate policies to the housing bubble, but only to an extent. But also there is evidence that the
monetary policy was aligned with the goals of policymakers and with the real time overall thought
at that time. Taking into considerations what the paper suggests, one can at least have a doubt
whether the relationship between the house bubble and activity and the interest rates and monetary
policies is not strong enough to explain such a shift in the house prices and residential investments.
Introduction
Why does the monetary policy affect housing development? We have to look further on the
economic value housing brings to an economy. Housing is an essential sector of the economy but
also one that has been the source of vulnerabilities and crises. Hence, while the recent recovery in
global housing markets is a welcome development, we need to guard against another unsustainable
boom.

Chivalry In Today s Society
In today s society when the word chivalry is discussed we usually think back to medieval times
where knights were atop horses in shining armor. What is chivalry? Chivalry is the act and
responsibility of a person to have respect and courtesy in everyday situations. Although in today s
world we assume that it was only a thing from the past, an old relic from the time of knights and
castles, but really chivalry is still alive and prominent in modern times.
If you go to a restaurant or store today you will most likely see some examples of someone being
chivalrous. For example, at a restaurant you may see someone pull out another s chair or not have
their elbows on the dinner table while they eat, this shows manners and respect while eating. At
stores you may see someone hold open the door for someone to go through or see two strangers
help each other with groceries; this is what being chivalrous in our world looks like. What this all
shows are that even though we aren t aware of it at the time chivalrous acts are always happening

But in today s world it is highly unlikely for someone to die over something like chivalry.
Although both eras have completely different interpretations of being chivalrous where one
would die over it and the other just thinks of it as another daily thing, they can both relate to how
chivalry has stood the test of time. For instance, during medieval times one of the main points of
chivalry was being respectful and courteous to ladies, the same can be said about chivalry in
modern times because in today s world we think of chivalry mainly when we are with the
opposite sex. This just shows how ideals from before are still around today even if they have
changed a bit, it shows how chivalry is indeed not

Mrs. Henderson s Classroom Observation
While observing Mrs. Henderson s classroom, I noticed that she used an approach that most
teachers don t. When I asked Mrs. Henderson why she chose this approach she told me that
originally she was supposed to teach 3rd and 4th grade math at the same time. When the plan
changed from her doing 3rd and 4th to just 3rd she decided to continue with her plan on using
guided math. While doing guided math, students are working on math problems they learned in the
lessonbefore and working on increasing on their basic knowledgeof math facts.
Guided math is set up at stations. One station is where they work on a website of basic math skills
they should already know such as addition and subtraction. Another station is where they learn the
new lesson. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I did not like the cubby hangers because it seemed to be very messy and some students are not
very organized. Mrs. Henderson had two large tables on each side of the room and a smaller
table in the middle and a teaching area in the center of the room. Mrs. Henderson had her desk
in the back corner. She also had a carpeted area where her large variety of books were. She did
not have a time out area but I thought it was unique that she had a water fountain in her
classroom. Her classroom did not seem to have a theme like most over classrooms do. Mrs.
Henderson dressed comfortable, however, it might have been because she was sick for the days I
observed. The classroom had a white board, an older television in the corner, and a projector.
Observing Mrs. Henderson classroom gave me an idea of how I want my classroom to be set up
in the future and I learned how guided math worked. I enjoyed the idea of guided math. The only
thing I would have changed would be not to do guided math every day. I would have done it every
other day to get some more variety in my classroom. I wouldn t want my students to get caught in a
routine. When I was an elementary student, I always enjoyed doing different things every

Stop Drinking Soda Research Paper
Introduction
You want to lose 12 pounds per year? Or how about avoiding something that can cause lifelong
paralysis or death? There is one simple thing we can do to avoid these tragic outcomes and at the
same time, help America. What is this one simple thing, you may ask? The answer is, by stop
consuming soda.
Thesis Statement
Stop the consumption of soda makes good sense for us as an individual and as a society. In this
paper, after we examine its harmful ingredients, and the specific ways it can hurt your health, you
ll see why you should stop consuming soda. Then, we ll explore the healthier alternatives to soda
that we can drink every day.

We ve noted the harmful ingredients and now let s take a closer look at the harm they can do to
our body. Firstly, the ingredients in both regular and diet sodas can cause many harmful effects
to your body. An average small bottle or can of soda contains over 200 calories, none of which
contains any real nutrients for your health. If you consume just one can of soda per day, you will
gain 12 pounds in only one year.
Following this fact, experts have noted that there is a link between soda consumption and obesity in
United States. For an example, according to a 2012 article in Prevalence of obesity and trends in
body mass index among US children and adolescents , it is found that two out of three adults
and one out of three children in America are overweight or obese. Rising consumption of soda
has been a major contributor to the obesity epidemic. Besides, according to an article by
American Heart Association (2017), sugar is a pure carbohydrate, and carbohydrates give the
body energy, but downing a can of soda of 250 calories isn t helpful. Unless you start doing
jumping jacks the second you finish the soda, and keep them up for an hour or so, those
carbohydrates will turn to fat. It is also proven that people in United States have been paying a lot
for their poor dietary habits. According to the CDC (2004), nationwide obesity related disease
expenditures for Medicare and Medicaid was a whopping $78.5

Narrative Essay On Being A Daredevil
I was a very mischievous person and I liked to take stupid risks that didn t make sense to anybody
else. People gave me extreme dares just to see if I would be able to complete them. I always
proved myself as the daredevil of the group. I used to take pride in the fact that I can do extreme

The use of motifs throughout the film helped reveal the story in a way that is completely unique
to the point of view of Hushpuppy. During the same speech Miss Bathsheba gives, Hushpuppy is
also introduced to aurochs. Aurochs are extincts beasts that are frozen in the caps of the South
pole. From this scene on, the audience is shown multiple shots of the beasts. These beasts are
usually portrayed when Hushpuppy exhibits signs of fear or a change in Hushpuppy s outlook.
By molding the aurochs into the sequence of the film, this adds to the feeling of childish
wonder. Moreover, it helps the viewer connect with Hushpuppy s fear. For example, there is a
scene in the movie where Hushpuppy comes face to face with her fear and the aurochs. This is
the moment where her father is ill and dying. She has to combat her fear of the aurochs. She does
this by not running. She turns around and stares at the aurochs. The aurochs eventually lay down
and sniff her in a sense of acceptance. It was at this point where Hushpuppy says You re my
friend, kind of. I gotta take care of mines (Zeitlin 2012). This scene is one of the most important
scenes in how Hushpuppy helps unreveal the storyline. This is the end of the movie, and she faces
her fears and stand up against this large, beast that she has been dreaming about the entire

Why Art Is Art Therapy
Art is the activity of creating communicating and expressing important ideas or feelings through
imagination and originality. In a world of imperfections like ours, humans need arts to survive.
Art is a way for people to escape reality and get lost in their own world and fantasies. Arts allow
bringing a person s inner world into the tangible reality. It is a vital part of the society; it improves
communication between individuals and provides opportunities for self expression. Art is a
subjective activity, interpreting these creations depends on a person s own experiences, visionary
thoughts, and associations. It evokes memories and nostalgia and triggers one s emotions and

Some people prefer to see arts as just art. Most of the time, individuals go to therapy because
they need somebody to talk to, somebody that will be supportive and understanding, someone
that will provide them with good advice and guidance for their lives. Others might think that art
therapy isn t really effective since not everyone is gifted with an artistic talent. In this case the
process of healing or feeling better will take more time; first the individual has to learn the
desired form of art before starting to use it as a therapy. People may also disagree with the
statement of art being therapeutic because art is just for fun and entertainment it can never lead
to solutions. Arts may provide a way of self expression but it is not a solution oriented method.
The main purpose of therapy is to assure a better well being of a person by resolving their troubles,
something that arts cannot do; it can only be used as a relief method to feel better for a specific

Lactose intolerant individuals experience many uncomfortable symptoms after consumption of

Similarities Between Democratic And Republican Parties
The Democratic and Republican parties each represent very distinct sets of ideals. Although the
parties have strong differences, both aim to make the United States of America as successful as

Later in the story we see this statement become fulfill with the deaths of Tybalt, Romeo, and Juliet.
Romeo avenges Mercutio and kills Tybalt than saying O, I am fortune s fool (Act 3, Scene 1,

Consequences Of Unisciplined Children In The Veldt By Ray...
Consequences of undisciplined children Many people have witnessed a toddler having a meltdown
in public only to have a parent sooth them by giving in to the child s demand. Although sometimes
this can be a beneficial parenting technique, if a parent over indulges a child too often, then that
child can become spoiled. However in The Veldt, Ray Bradburychallenges the idea of satisfying
children; he suggests through his tragic tale of the spoiled and undisciplined children Wendy and
Peter, that over indulged kids will be taught to not value their family. Through the use of spoiling
kids, harms of technology, and conflict, Ray Bradbury shows children need to be disciplined in
order to be well rounded individuals. Bradbury uses spoiling Wendy and Peter to show they
weren t well rounded, by emphasizing that they were over indulged in materialistic wants. When
parents Lydia and George were talking, Lydia explained, They re insufferable let s admit it.
They come and go when they like; they treat us as if we were offspring. They re spoiled and we
re spoiled. The description of how the parents feel provides the reader with a better understanding
that even the parents can no longer control Wendy and Peter s disrespectful ways caused by their
mistakes of spoiling the children. Bradbury establishes the kids as so over indulged that even
Lydia and George could not discipline the children if they put their minds to it. Towards the end of
the story we see that not being able to

James II Research Paper
James II s outlook on societal rules and polices among the Catholic and Protestant people went
against the religious schism Protestants had set into place when they declared that Catholics
would be excluded from power unless they converted to Protestantism. Authors of The Course of

with Richard Talbot, brother of the dead archbishop; he had long been James s intimate and had
shown himself an able and forceful advocate of Catholic claims. He was made earl of Tyrconnell

Constitutional Interpretation Essay
Constitutional Interpretation
In this essay I will try to explain and critique the two dominant methods of constitutional
interpretation. Which are originalism and non originalism. I will do this by taking help from How
to Read the Constitution by Christopher Wolfe, and different source s from Internet. I will start by
giving what Wolfe says originalism is, and then I will give some background to other ways to
interpret the constitution, and the founders and interpretation and I will finish up with my view on
originalism and non originalism and the critics to that.
Wolfe on Originalism
Wolfe says that originalism is a two fold doctrine. First, it holds that the constitution is generally
intelligible and with effort its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Certain historical considerations are essential. The words are to be understood by those for whom
they were written, and therefore we must know what those understandings where. Christopher
Wolfe believes that the framers would tend to give preferences in such cases to the fair reading of
the document itself.
To summarize, the approach to constitutional interpretation employed in the early years of
American government: an interpreter is to begin with the words of the document in their ordinary
popular usage and understand the in light of their context. That context includes the words of the
provision of which it is a part, but also extends to the much broader context of the document as a
whole. The deeper assumption underlying these early rules of interpretation was a fairly traditional
realist epistemology: that the constitution has a fixed, determinate meaning intelligible to those
who give it a fair reading. Under modern assumption, a constitution is unavoidably made up or
created by interpreters, to a greater of lesser extent, as they go along. The framers of the
constitution, on the contrary, looked at the constitution as an intelligible fixed standard that made
possible a republican rule of law, rather than of men.

Madame Gres Research Paper
Auction data also supports the claims that Madame GrГЁs was most successful later in her
career. Her most expensive dress sold was from when she was 57 years old and sold for $9,020.
The second most expensive was from when she was 62 and sold for $8,450. The auction data
also shows that of the 31 dresses observed, only 4 items came from before the age of 47. This is
consistent with the fact that experimental designers produce their best work later in their careers.
Madame GrГЁs has inspired many designers today. One of her most prominent followers is Doo
Ri Chung, who creates a similar type of draping jersey dress shown on runways today.

designs. Costello ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Richard Martin writes, GrГЁs invented one model that she practiced, polished, perfected, and
purified. Her self taught skills and beautifully graceful dresses are innovations in the fashion
industry that remain today. Her persistent devotion to her work makes her an experimental artist
that has had a tremendous impact on the history of couture.
Yves Saint Laurent (1936 2008)
For Yves and herein lies his uniqueness each collection is a means of bringing dreams to life,

Yves Saint Laurent was a French conceptual designer. He was born in Algeria to a wealthy French
family that exposed him to the theater and arts at an early age, allowing him to develop an interest
in design. At the young age of 17, he placed third in the prestigious International Wool Secretariat
competition for design sketches and went on to win the following year. The competition provided
international recognition to outstanding fashion designers as judged by the top designers in the
field and served as the launching pad for Saint Laurent s career. Saint Laurent went on to
apprentice for Christian Dior after winning the International Wool Secretariat prize. At the age of
21, he became the lead designer for Dior upon his sudden death in

ANZAC Legend Assignment
History Term 4: ANZAC Research Assignment
Australia participated in of one of the greatest global wars in history, World War 1, as a part of
the Allied Forces. This war was also believed to be, at the time, the war to end all wars. It started
on the 28th of July 1914 and was triggered by the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the Archduke
of Austria. On the 25th of April 1915, the British Empire sent the Australian and New Zealand
Army Corp to Gallipoli in an invasion where the young soldiers were essentially led on a suicide
mission. They were outnumbered. The campaign ended in a gruesome and horrific massacre of the
ANZAC troops. The battle between Australia and Turkey on the Gallipoli Campaign during World
War 1 is often glorified in the recognition of the ANZAC s excessive qualities such as courage and
endurance; which is now known as the ANZAC Legend. However, it is undeniable that the reality
of how the ANZAC legend was altered through propaganda, exaggeration and misunderstanding to
portray a successful campaign.
The fact that the ANZAC Legend was highly exaggerated is not often debated for the purpose of
attempting to convince citizens that the deaths of the soldiers who fought in the Gallipoli
Campaign were not in vain. we need to scrape off the barnacles and make sure the
commemorations are actually about the soldiers and the tragedy of what they endured (Payne,
2015). Many of the legendary actions taken by ANZAC soldiers have been overstated so that the

Such models have been used by commercial banks and creditors to assess the creditworthiness of commercial users, by investors to measure a firm s risk of insolvency, and by business managers to assess and manage the financial turnaround of distressed companies. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT OF INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES The airline industry, like many other industries, is increasingly exposed to competition. Increased competition has two effects on firms: it creates downward pressures on output prices, and it creates incentives for improving productivity and efficiency. Many airlines have been forced to undertake major restructuring in order to meet these challenges. Many researchers have used different model to decompose changes in airline profitability into two components: productivity and price recovery ability. The study concluded that increased competition in international air transport markets has put pressures on carriers ability to raise prices. However input prices, like labor, fuel, materials, flight equipment, ground property and equipment have been increasing. They also demonstrated that airlines have made tremendous effort to improve efficiency to counteract such trends, yet large fluctuations in profitability are still an ongoing reality. Elements Of Visual Design In Star Wars May Visual Design be with you The visual design in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope transformed the film industry, setting new standards for years to come. Through animation, detailed models, sets and computer controlled motion photography, George Lucas created a futuristic sci fi that was realistic and gripping. In Star Wars: A New Hope, one scene stands out from all others: the Binary Sunset scene. One of the most iconic moments from all of Star Wars, the scene uses elements of visual design that display the forces of good and evil, destiny, and most importantly, the recurring theme of hope. In the scene, Luke Skywalker is presented wearing a flowy white tunic, khaki pants, and wrapped, soft soled boots. Ostensibly these are the clothes of a farm boy living on the planet Tatooine which were inspired by the rice farming boys in Japanese paddy fields, in conjunction with the desert climate of Lucas s fictional planet. The clothing design contributes to the ambiance of the dry atmosphere of Tatooine: the faded light color scheme complements the heat and sandy expanses. Furthermore, Luke s hairstyle also presents his character as young and boyish diving further into the delineation of his character. In later films, his costume thickens and darkens representing his maturation and character development. His white tunic not only resembles his boyish innocence but also the force and the power of good, a key theme Lucas borrowed from the serial westerns of the 1940s and ... Individuals all over Canada and the world expressed their dismay at the current situation. Soldiers in Victoria revolted, there was increased tensions from soldiers stationed in England, and even general labour strikes. These events all culminated in a period of hypertension among the state and its citizens. When exploring the related weeks and readings to the subjects, it can be seen that these effects were caused by the ending of World War I , or at least exacerbated by it. While stuck in Europe the tensions between high ranking officials and their subordinates was increasing class and rank conflict within the military. • 8. Definition Essay On Patriarchy Guess What? You re a Feminist! Feminism is not a radical movement or a fringe movement or an embarrassment or a fraud. Feminism is simple. The patriarchy does exist. To identify as a feminist is to acknowledge that women are people, and, as such, women deserve the same social, economic, and political rights and opportunities as other styles of people (i.e., men people). To be a feminist is also to acknowledge that the world is not, currently, a fair and just and safe place for women to exist. Because it is not. Obviously (see: everything ever). To deny these things makes you, at worst, a bad person who hates women, including but not limited to: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, your mother, Jennifer Lopez s mother, Jennifer Garner s Aunt Marcy, Michelle Obama, Ellen DeGeneres, Cher, Julie Andrews, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kraken Kardashian, Karphone Kardashian, Kickball Kardashian, Kornkob Kardashian, and THE VIRGIN FUCKING MARY. At best, it makes you a complacent idiot. ONE MORE TIME: If you are not a feminist (or something blamelessly ignorant, like a baby or a ferret or a college freshman), then you are a bad person. If Arundel Partners were to use the traditional DCF methods to find the value of the sequel rights, the NPV would be $8.42M loss per film (see Appendix 1). Concealed Handgun Will Reduce Crime There is a growing crowd that believes having a law that allows individuals to carry a concealed handgun will reduce crime because the criminal is less likely to attack someone if he has to think twice whether that person is carrying a concealed handgun or not. The thought is that concealed carry laws makes you safer in your everyday life because there is less of a chance of being victimized. Although the statistics don t bear this fact, the loudest voice sometimes gets the most attention and press coverage. New Hampshire s state motto is Live Free or Die. Although the phrase came from a toast written by General John Stark, New Hampshire s most famous soldier of the American Revolutionary War, the motto appears on the states license plates and is commonly known among the locals to mean that everyone in the state carry s a concealed handgun, and they would rather die than to give them up. The locals believe this is why their crime rate is so low. However, being such a small state, with less urban areas and good economy, concealed carry becomes more debatable. My goal in this paper is to show that concealed carry laws don t reduce crime or make America safer. I will also talk about laws that have been enacted all over the United States to allow gun enthusiast to carry, but the evidence doesn t support a decrease in crime rates. To achieve this goal, I have researched several sources online, which I have documented and have cited the sources at the end of my paper. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Countless thinkers during this time challenged the traditional ideologies in an effort to bring in a new way of thinking that embraced logic and reasoning. Needless to say, religious and aristocratic leaders during this time did not show very high regard to these thinkers, most were censored. imprisoned, tortured and/or exiled from their countries. Secondly, lust is seen throughout the play, as it is mentioned multiple times that he is lusting after some of the women in the house, including Elmire, Orgon s wife. In considering this, the suitability of a federal system to the Australian environment both socially and geographically firstly warrants acknowledgment. I learn best by getting my hands on things and seeing how things work. I am not very good at learning things by simply reading a book and taking a test. Although most of my schooling is just that. Many things influence our learning as well, such as environmental. These can include reinforcements, observations, associations, and punishment. Some of the primary learning theories I will discuss will be classical conditioning, operant conditioning and observational learning. First I will discuss classical conditioning. Classical conditioning was first discovered by Ivan Pavlov. But first let me explain what classical conditioning is. The learning takes place when an association is formed between a previously neutral stimulus and a naturally occurring stimulus, according to Pavlov. He first noticed this in his experiments on the digestive system of dogs. The dogs began to salivate whenever the dogs saw the white coats he was wearing, prior to being fed. He paired the natural stimulus of food with the sound of a bell. Then the dogs would naturally salivate in response to food. Then after several associations, the dogs would salivate to the sound of the bell. So this is how classical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Skinner, when a behavior leads to a desirable consequence, it becomes more likely that the behavior will be repeated again in the future. When the action is negative than the outcome is likely to occur. This is how operant condition became about and who discovered it. Next is observational ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Paintings such as Son of Man by Magritte which has basics such as shadow, highlight, simple composition, and a dull color palette. A design for Apple Laptops was created of a decal of Son of Man. This design also had shadow, light, basic composition, and an achromatic color palette. The structure is the same, but one is created digitally and one is a painting. The processes can also be very similar. Many artists use technology in their artwork. They use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, programs for designers and use it to create their artwork. Artists such as Jeff Koons who manipulates images on Photoshop, prints it and paints hyper realistic paintings from those images. The structure and process for art and design can be very similar. Can an artist be a designer or vise versa? One argument that critics make is that artists are just artists or that a designer is not an artist. One can easily conclude monetary policy was not a primary cause of the bubble in house prices and activity. Yes, there was a contribution by the fed s interest rate policies to the housing bubble, but only to an extent. But also there is evidence that the monetary policy was aligned with the goals of policymakers and with the real time overall thought at that time. Taking into considerations what the paper suggests, one can at least have a doubt whether the relationship between the house bubble and activity and the interest rates and monetary policies is not strong enough to explain such a shift in the house prices and residential investments. Introduction Why does the monetary policy affect housing development? We have to look further on the economic value housing brings to an economy. Housing is an essential sector of the economy but also one that has been the source of vulnerabilities and crises. Hence, while the recent recovery in global housing markets is a welcome development, we need to guard against another unsustainable boom. Housing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chivalry is the act and responsibility of a person to have respect and courtesy in everyday situations. At stores you may see someone hold open the door for someone to go through or see two strangers help each other with groceries; this is what being chivalrous in our world looks like. Consequences of undisciplined children Many people have witnessed a toddler having a meltdown in public only to have a parent sooth them by giving in to the child s demand. Although sometimes this can be a beneficial parenting technique, if a parent over indulges a child too often, then that child can become spoiled. However in The Veldt, Ray Bradburychallenges the idea of satisfying children; he suggests through his tragic tale of the spoiled and undisciplined children Wendy and Peter, that over indulged kids will be taught to not value their family. Through the use of spoiling kids, harms of technology, and conflict, Ray Bradbury shows children need to be disciplined in order to be well rounded individuals. Bradbury uses spoiling Wendy and Peter to show they weren t well rounded, by emphasizing that they were over indulged in materialistic wants. When parents Lydia and George were talking, Lydia explained, They re insufferable let s admit it. They come and go when they like; they treat us as if we were offspring. They re spoiled and we re spoiled. The description of how the parents feel provides the reader with a better understanding that even the parents can no longer control Wendy and Peter s disrespectful ways caused by their mistakes of spoiling the children.
