The 8th floor of the hospital was unlike any other department I had ever worked at. It was not
always busy and loud like the ER, or cheerful like pediatric. The 8th floor always felt gloomy
with its dimly lit hallways and beige colored walls. I met Mr. Peter on the first day of my
internship with the neurology department. As an intern, I was in charge of feeding patients
breakfast and lunch among other responsibilities. Unlike other patients who were not able to

Nuclear Families Research Paper
In society, there are many nuclear families that have different ways of raising their children due to
social classes that remain present. Nuclear families consist of a pair of adults and their children.
Due to the different social classes parents take into account different childrearing methods, cultural
logic, and religion affiliation. When raising their children families in a higher Asantie Yeboah 5
class, take care of their children through concerted cultivation. They put their children in numerous
activities such as club teams which control a familys life, particularly for the mothers. The reason
behind this is because parents believe these activities are important skills to learn for their
children. Families also in a higher class talk to their children to discipline them. Parents in the
working class and poor class apply natural growth. Many parents of the working class provide
love, food, and safety anticipating their children will advance and succeed. They do not focus on
developing their children s special talents. For this reason, working class children have more free

Religion occupies a central role in nuclear families in a lower class as they use it as a way of life
that assists families to survive life within a social inequality. Religious beliefs continue to influence
families child rearing practices. Many children from nuclear families have parents that are very
spiritual in child rearing; their families rely on the principles underlying their spiritual beliefs.

discouraging behavior such as drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, consuming illegal drugs and

Stop And Frisk Analysis
The ordinariness of the scene, in which people are shopping in a store, does not seem to fit the
theme of stop and frisk , which should be a case of extremeness. Maybe the only explanation,
implied by the video, for this strange combination of ordinariness and extremeness is that all the
people involved are African Americans. It should be a shame to notice and acknowledge that the
ordinariness of one group can be the extremeness of another. The narrative of the speaker is lack of
emotion, indicating that African Americans have been used to such extremeness frequently
happening in their daily lives: they are not willing to be involved in stop and frisk, but they have
no other choice. The sentences such as get on the ground and I just knew are repeated in the video.
Those people do not want to get on the ground or even get naked during stop and frisk, situations
that are actually humiliation, but they know that they have to do so without other choices. Those
repeated words, with the feeling of despair, are like ghosts that keep haunting those African
Americans, making stop and frisk an unescapable nightmare in their lives they are supposed to
