Role Of A Military Contractor, Strong Communication Skills...
As an employee of a military contractor, strong communication skills are not only vital in my line
of business, but are considered the standard norm. Not only must I possess strong verbal and
reading skills, I must also be able to write in a clear and concise manner that is dependent upon
strong vocabulary skills.
My role within my organization is that of a Compliance Advisor, ensuring all the Federal
Regulations are accurately interpreted and in place prior to the shipment of our ballistic weapons
to a foreign military entity. What does this mean? I must read, clarify, and strictly adhere to all
Federal International Trade Regulations provided by the US State and the US Commerce
Departments prior to any product leaving our facility. How do I do this? Prior to entering into a
business agreement with a foreign company or military entity, I am required to use these
Regulations and create either a License or an Agreement, a types of business contracts that
specifically explains who the foreign customer is, what will/will not be provided to the foreign
customer, and how the item/service being provided will be used, and submit this document to the
correct governing Federal Department, who will then review and approve or deny our request.

Data Communication
DATA COMMUNICATION
Advancements in the information technology sector have brought many benefits to the people all
around the world. Today with computer networking, we can chat, speak and see each other over a
long distance. Data communication refers to the transmission of the digital signals over a
communication channel between the transmitter and receiver computers. Communication is
possible only with wired and wireless connectivity of the computers with each other.
All the computers, in the logically and physically networks have to follow the same rules known
as Protocols such as TCP/IP, IPX/SPX and NETBEUI etc. Today, there are many computer
networking technologies such as LAN, MAN, WAN, WLAN, ISDN, ATM, Frame Relay, X.25,
Bluetooth, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Well known communications protocols are Ethernet, a hardware and Link standard that is
ubiquitous in local area networks, and the Internet Protocol Suite, which defines a set of protocols
for internetworking, i.e. for data communication between multiple networks, as well as host to host
data transfer, and application specific data transmission formats.
Computer networking is sometimes considered a sub discipline of electrical engineering,
telecommunications, computer science, information technology or computer engineering, since it
relies upon the theoretical and practical application of these disciplines.
The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet
protocol suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. It is a network of networks that
consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks, of local to
global scope, that are linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless and optical networking
technologies. The Internet carries a vast range of information resources and services, such as the
inter linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the infrastructure to support
electronic mail.
Most traditional communications media including telephone, music, film, and television are
reshaped or redefined by the Internet, giving birth to new services such as Voice over Internet
Protocol (VoIP) and IPTV. Newspaper, book and other print publishing are adapting

Core Business Features Defining Ecommerce Capabilities
B2B eCommerce Guide Core Business Features
Core Business Features Define eCommerce Capabilities
Functionality in B2B eCommerce websites depends on subsets of core and custom features, back
office tools, user interfaces, and even design considerations that affect what viewers see when they
visit a website. Regardless of software platform, certain core business features are essential for
highly functional B2B eCommerce websites, but how companies handle the various duties these
features perform can determine success in competitive markets and impact every area of business
operations. That s why it s critical to choose an operating platform where core business functions
can be customized to specific industries and B2B models to foster greater functionality, appealing
and intuitive interfaces for stakeholders, better communications and greater abilities to manage and
monitor eCommerce operations throughout the buying and shipping cycles.
Addressing the B2B User Experience
Most people have shopped at Amazon or eBay and understand how convenient the buying process
is at B2C eCommerce websites where the user experience or UX trumps every aspect of the
business process. Although the B2B process differs in many ways, smart decision makers in

Adam Smith Wealth Of A Nation Analysis
This developing liberal trend within the middle class produced conditions that allowed for the
exploring of social thinkers such as John Locke, a philosopher of the 17th century, who theorised
on politics and liberty and the individual. Then there was the Magna Carta adding further to the
liberal maelstrom of the political debate at this time. There was Adam Smith, who promoted a
laissez fare approach to economics, which was a further expression of liberal thinking. Smith s
book, The wealth of a Nation heralded new thoughts about trade and the market. He suggested that
the market should be left to regulate itself, reducing governmental control. This gave the enterprise

Rome And Japan Military Comparison Essay
Military in Rome and Japan were alike, but they had their differences. Romans were in a lot of
wars, so they needed a strong military. Japan had a strong military. The trainers had very strict
rules. Rome and Japan were very feared civilizations.
Military in ancient Rome helped the civilization become very strong. The Romans were
originally a group of three tribes. Not a lot is know of this time period because all of Rome s
records were destroyed by the Celtic Invasion. The early Romans would fight with slings and
javelins and possibly bows. In this early time they were ruled by Etruscans their more advanced
northern neighbors. Romans worked by putting in new roads on the civilizations they conquered.

1274. The Japanese always fought on foot. Women were allowed to be in the military. Uniforms
for the Samurai were made out of leather, and their weapons were called katana and wakizashi.
They were always worn together, and they helped them in battle. They were used to kill

Essay about Benefits of Medical Abbreviations
Benefits of Medical Abbreviations There are many benefits of medical abbreviations. One
benefit of medical abbreviations is how much easier it makes it to read a chart. This speeds up
the process by knowing the abbreviations and the use of them. It is nice to simplify things by
using medical abbreviations when it is a busy day. The other reason to use medical
abbreviations is so that only the medical personnel will know what is being described. It is a
very efficient way of maintaining a patient s privacy. Everybody does not need to know a patient s

Famine Affluence And Morality By Peter Singer
41 million people struggle with hunger in the United States, including 13 million children. Even in
the world s greatest food producing nation, children and adults face poverty and hunger in every
state across the U.S.. It is a black plague that twists itself around the American people scattered all
over the country. Because povertyis a huge regularity shared and ignored, should the people be
responsible for the removal of hunger and poverty in the United Statesof America? Should the
American people ignore the brethren who fall because of this disease? Should the American people
live on without feeding half the nation s population? Primarily, Famine, Affluence, and Morality is
an essay written by Peter Singer in 1971 and published in Philosophy and Public Affairs in 1972.
In his essay, Singer reaches out to the worried and interested audience population about the lack of
food, shelter, and medicine. Singer emphasizes the importance of moral obligation. If it is in the
power of a human being to achieve something for the good of the whole, or rather, to prevent
something bad from occurring without sacrificing anything of comparable moral importance, then
it should be done. All in all his essay depicts one true conclusion: the only way to prevent famine

Mindy Kaling Thesis

on Jane the Virgin and Kelly on The Office. Many people know her on screen but few know that
in addition to her acting she is also a scriptwriter. So, when Kaling was given the chance to pitch
ideas for the next Hollywood hit, she jumped at the opportunity. She went before a panel of
executives to share her thoughts for the next box office romcom, and was left both confused and
surprised by their lack of interest, with a counter that they were looking into movies that were
about boardgames. This experience prompted Kaling to write an opinion piece for The New

dead squid decaying on a beach somewhere for two hours. She then goes on to describe another
kind of female movie character, known as the Ethereal Weirdo. This is who Kaling describes as
the Manic Pixie Dream Girl. She uses description techniques to create the ideal version of a
character that puts an image in the mind of the reader. She wears gauzy blouses and braids. She
likes to dance in the rain and she weeps uncontrollably if she sees a sign for a missing dog or cat.
She might spin a globe, place her finger on a random spot, and decide to move there. Following
this anecdote, she refocuses the piece, stating that such an individual shows up often in movies
but never in real life. Kaling also plays to the common prejudice that females are meant to fit to
male ideals. Roles like that of the Ethereal Weirdo actually perpetuate sexism and degrade the
role of women in acting. She conveys this point through dry satirical elements, saying, She is
essential to the male fantasy that even if a guy is boring he deserves a woman who will find him
fascinating and perk up his dreary life by forcing him to go skinny dipping in a stranger s

The Rocking Horse Winner Analytical Essay
Everyone Has a Secret That Controls The Inside

Ms.Stahl
Living behind a façade in life can bring complications to those who value things in life. The
Rocking Horse Winner by D.H. Lawrence is a symbolic short story that represents the idea that the
more one s values lie with material goods the less one is able to connect with reality or the
intangible tenets of life. This perspective is supported throughout the story by the direct
characterization of Hester and Paul, the use of personification and similes and in the rising action
to the conclusion s gradual release of detail.
D.H. Lawrence accomplishes the theme by using dramatic relationships with the characters, Paul

The yearning desire for wealth changed Paul s character, making him a round character by the
changes shown through his eyes in, his eyes had a strange glare in them... (298). Paul gained his
wealth by predicting the names of winning horses by riding on his rocking horse, his uncle
would take him to horse derby s where he would place high wages to earn money for love.
Money cannot buy love nor happiness as shown in, Quite moderately nice (304) Paul s mother
said in a voice so cold and absent it made him strive for more. Paul s greatest conflict is against
himself, because he allows pressure from his mother and society to drive him into a yearning for
money and social status, the outcome of this conflict resulted in his death.
The author uses symbolism to show the burning desire of acceptance in the higher class and how
it changed Paul s outlook on life. The rocking horse is an object Paul revolves his dependence on.
It is a symbol for his family desires, as a rocking horse has no end to its rocking, similar to his
family s cycle of materialism; there is no end to their quest of monetary gain of status in society
and wealth as said in, My family has been a gambling family... (305). The mother s family has a
past of gamblers and money cravers. Paul s increasing obsession for acceptance is shown through
his eyes in, his eyes were blue fire , flushed and with eyes blazing, was curiously

In the United States alone, millions of people shop every day. Interestingly enough, despite the
mass amount people, every shopper is classified as a consumer from one of only three main
categories. One can assume a shoppers category by examining the shopper s cart since the
products which they have bought determines their category. Every shopper is categorized as either
a proactive shopper, an aggressive shopper, or a wasteful shopper.
The shopper that only buys the items on his list is the person who makes shopping quick, easy,

shoppers. My father and I are both great examples of the proactive shopper. Prior to my Bar

shoppers, the last type of shopper never even purchases his desired item, instead, he wastes his
time and money on things he does not need. The final sect of shoppers is arguably the most
foolish approach to shopping. This shopper is the person who buys everything except for the
product he intended to buy. One can entitle this shopper as the wasteful shopper because of all
the time and money wasted on the needless items they purchase. Unfortunately, my aunt often

Right we can see Pro Lifers marching in the Rally for Life with banners protesting to abortion.
Leading up to the Controversy
Leading up to the Controversy in the 70s and 80s An introduction to where it all Began
Before the abortion debates in the 70s to 80s, starting in the 1880s when the birth rate began to
decline discussions began to spark over topics regarding sexual health, contraception and a
woman s right to abortion. Then the topic of abortion became a public issue again in the 1920s
1930s after the first world war, politicians started to talk about the controversy, doctors spoke out
and women s groups stated their liberal views, and news papers wrote columns on the beginning
abortion controversy. At this time New Zealand began to see a strong support for the anti
abortion party from the Church, politicians and doctors. Many people in the 1930s were against
abortion as they were worried about passing on there genes, and because of the widespread
concern over the birth rate drop New Zealand was experiencing at this time. This was a particular
concern for Frederic King of the Plunket Society and Doris Gordon of the Obstetrical Society which
they voiced numerous times.

Howard s Utopia Essay
The notion of Garden City , famously explored by Ebenezer Howard was a solution intended to
bring together the economic and cultural advantages of both city and country living. He sees it as
an alternative to the congested urban areas in England. Canberra the capital city of Australia differs
from the garden cityproper, a city that is perhaps not what Howard wished garden city to be.
Nonetheless Canberrais a city that incorporates many of the garden city principles and in this
essay I will argue that Canberra indeed is a garden city, as Canberra is build on central garden city

However, this system did not benefits citizens in any collective ways and is gradually been
abolished (Czamanski and Benchetrit 2004). Howard s vision of social reform achieved through
community ownership of land never materialised. While Canberra was deeply touched by his idea,
yet the direct economic impact is some what minimal.
Garden city was subject to limited growth and limited population. Howard (1965) anticipated
that the garden city would have a population of 30,000 32,000 in the town and other 2,000 in the
agricultural lands. When the city reaches its limits, it would replicate itself in a new community
separated by a greenbelt yet connected by railways. The published sketch in figure 1 suggests
the garden city to be circular, though Howard (1965) conceded that the shape was suggestive.
Canberra was not expected to be a large city. Still, Griffin planned the city for 45,000, this was
reached by 1960. By 1965 it was 78,000 and in 2004 the population was around 330,000. The
population is anticipated to grow to 500,000 in the next 25 years. (Firth n.d) This does not show
any indication of limited population that Howard wants in the garden city. Nevertheless, the
National Capital Development Commission (1984) did took the ideas of Howard s garden city
growth concept refined it and developed the Y Plan as a strategy to cope with Canberra s long term

Reuse Of Asset Architecture For Some System
Reuse of asset architecture for some system can maximize company investment. Reused based
software engineering is a software engineering approach where the development process is
geared to reusing recent software. One of the best efficient approaches to reuse is to create
software product line engineering or application families. In recent years, software reusability has
emerged as promising reusability approach, which brings out some important benefits such as
increasing reusability of its core assets, while decreasing time to market. Software reusability has
focal on two areas; domain engineering, in which the assets are de veloped for reuse, and
application engineering where the core assets are being reused to generate specific... Show more

Reuse, as a software strategy for reducing development costs and refining quality, is not a new
idea. Many past reuse agendas have fixated on the reuse of relatively small pieces of code.
Organizations have developed reuse librar ies containing modules, components, algorithms and, ob
jects. Almost anything a software developer develops goes into the library. Other developers are
then urged to use what the library provides instead of creating their own ver sions. Unfortunately, it
often takes longer to locate these small pieces and integrate them into a system than it would take to
build them anew. Documentation might explain the situation for which the piece was created but
not how it can be generalized or adapted to other situations. The benefits of small grained reuse
depend on the predisposition of the software engineer to use what is in the library, the suitabil ity of
what is in the library for the engineer s particular needs, and the successful adaptation and
integration of the library units into the rest of the system. If reuse occurs at all under these
conditions, it is fortuitous, and the payoff is usually nonexistent.
Software reusability is not just about variation management of software features, it delivers
framework governing the development and distribution lifecycle of all the variation of product
portfolio and amalgamation of system components that makes up each product. It eventually

The Importance of Being Earnest Essay
AThe Importance of Being Earnest a play written by Oscar Wilde is set in England in the late
Victorian era. Wilde uses obvious situational and dramatic irony within the play to satirize his
time period. According to Roger Sale in Being Ernest the title has a double meaning to it and is
certainly another example of satire used by Wilde. With a comedic approach, Wilde ridicules the
absurdities of the character s courtship rituals, their false faces, and their secrets. (Sale, 478) In the
Victorian era, courtship rituals were slightly different from modern time courtships. It started with
couples speaking first, going out together, and finally they would keep each other company after
mutual attraction was confirmed. The character... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pardon me, you are not engaged to anyone. When you do become engaged to someone, I, or your
father, should his health permit him, will inform you of the fact. An engagement should come
on a young girl as a surprise, pleasant or unpleasant, as the case may be. It is hardly a matter that
she could be allowed to arrange for herself (Wilde, 622). Lady Bracknell s harsh criticism and
stubborn ways are customary of upper class mothers in the era. Ironically enough, Algernon later
develops a kind of forbidden love. The object of his affection is young and being taught to be
unimaginative and serious. One thing that Jack and Algernon have in common is that they both
have these false faces. Algernon s alter ego Bunbury is a version of himself used in the country but
he uses Ernest to marry Cecily. The story deals with Ernest, this immorally imaginary man that both
Cecily and Gwendolyn become engaged to, it exemplifies the irony within the name. Most of the
irony comes from this character. One of Wilde s satiric targets is romantic and sentimental love,
which he ridicules by having the women fall in love with a man because of his name rather than
more personal attributes. Gwendolyn said No, there is very little music in the name Jack, if any at
all, indeed. It does not thrill. It produces

The Mongol Empire And The Empire
I was watching my cousin play Fallout Shelter, and he said that the things that are needed for a
safe and long lasting shelter is charisma, agility, strength, and perception. These four words best
describe an innovative kingdom, and the kingdom that best fit all these words was the Mongol
Empire, the mightiest and biggest Empire in the world. Mongols were nomads from north of the
Gobi Desert. They were first ruled by Genghis Khan, which means Universal Ruler . Temuchin,
which is Genghis birth name, lived a rough early life. His father was poisoned by an enemy.
When older, he decided to unite all the Mongol clans under one empire, making him one of the
most powerful people of all time (BK Essay). The Mongol empire lasted for only 40 years, 1260
1300 A.D (Doc 1). Since then and before then, there hasn t been an empire so big, with so many
advances. Even though there were many destructions throughout the process of the making of the
Mongol Empire, they should be remembered as an innovative empire because it was the biggest
empire in the world and still managed to be prosperous, it was tolerant towards all races/religions

The War Of 1812 And The Civil War
The Antebellum period is known as the period before the Civil War. However, it is described as
the periods between the War of 1812 and the Civil War. The word e antebellum, means before the
war, and reform, means the improvement of what is wrong. The Antebellum period made
transportation more efficient for people who traveled. The Transportation Revolution provided
several new, reliable, safe and cost effective ways to travel to different parts of the nation, including
new land in the west. The transportation Revolution changed America by new types of
transportation, economic growth, expansion, and factory system growth. Roads and canals will
shorten distances, effortless way to get somewhere, and facilitate commercial and personal
communication. The first roads in America were developed by early settlers. The National Roadwas
the first highway built entirely with federal funds. The road was authorized by Congress in
1806 during the Jefferson Administration ( The National Road par. 1). The first 10 miles of
roads were built. Wagons were slow and very difficult to use on dirt roads because of the
weather. In 1811, the federal government opened the national road connecting Cumberland,
Maryland to Ohio River. Road improvements may have made it possible for more people to live
in a specific area, because access between that area and major job location centers is facilitated by
the improved roads. Around 1821, there was around 4,000 turmpikes and private roads that

Female Film Directors and the British Film Industry
In this essay I will be discussing whether female filmmakers in Britain find it easier to make a
documentary feature than a fiction feature film in the current British film industry. I will be
referring to the opinions and films of Kim Longinotto, Carol Morley, Clio Barnard and Alison
Stirling. I will also be looking at the statistics from filmfestivals and the British Film Institute, and
interviews with various British female filmmakers. I will argue that documentaries are easier to
make due to them being less expensive to make and not requiring a large crew. I will try to show
that female filmmakers are less like to get funding for a fiction feature film due to the people that
make the decisions in terms of granting funding for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even more worryingly, women accounted for just 7.8% of directors on UK films in 2012, a
decrease of more than 7% year on year (15% in 2011) (www.wftv.org.uk). This means that there
were 165 male directors, but only 14 female directors. This equals the amount of female directors
currently working in TV drama, as reported by Directors UK. (http://www.directors.uk.com/about
us/news/where are women directors asks d uk board member beryl richards broadcast)
There are several successful women making fiction feature films within the UK, such as Clio
Barnard, Lynne Ramsay, however there are still relatively few British women directing feature
films. In the areas of documentary and experimental film, however, women have directed a
substantial body of work. This suggests that away from the constraints of the commercial film
industry, greater opportunities still exist to explore the representation of women s lives and their
subjective experience within Britain (Helen Wheatley Aitken, 2005). Pratibha Parmer, a UK
documentary maker, believes that women have trouble getting into fiction filmmaking and states
that, some female directors have produced fictional work, but we can still say that this is the
exception rather than the rule. These are two very different worlds, and the passage between them
is not easy. There are very few women who can break through into the world of fiction filmmaking,
partly because of the enormous budgets involved, the great risks and the

Art And Culture, 1920-1945, An Exhibition Curated By Dr....
Between February 13 and July18, 2015 the Brigham Young University Museum of Art is exhibiting
Deco Japan: Shaping Art and Culture, 1920 1945, an exhibition curated by Dr. Kendall Brown. The
exhibit was collected in an attempt to detail the cultural transformation that took place in Japan
from the Roaring Twenties all the way through the end of World War II. The exhibit displays the
tension between the deep national cultureand the up and coming cosmopolitan lifestyle. Dr. Brown
gathered art of all variations, ranging from paintings to sculptures to ordinary household objects.
Deco Art itself is a reflection of changing world cultures. It was born in France post World War I
as a sort of marriage between craft motifs and the industrial age, characterized by wealthy and
bold looking colors and shapes. The art form is well depicted in the decoration of the
Rockefeller Center in New York or any of the art and decor found in the movie The Great Gatsby.
This striking form represented the glamour of the age. In a great sense, the period represented a
change from conservative to a more liberal view on life. This was no different in Japan.
The period observed through the art pieces is one of extreme tension between two very different
lifestyles. During this time, many Japanese youth were reaching out to Western Modernism and
the allure of the big city and Jazz culture. The Moga, short for Modan Gaaru (modern girl) and the
Mobo, the modern boy, were paving the way for a new

What Is Hamlet s Perception Of Human Nature
Why does human nature have a tendency to grasp onto information which contains no justified
data? William Shakespeare expands on this question, expressing the manners of human nature on
believing in untrustworthy sources, throughout his play Hamlet. In the play Hamlet, Shakespeare
exposes an individual s mindset through Hamlets perception of human nature analyzed by
psychology.
Shakespeare illustrates behavioural reasoning in which people believe information without proper
justification through Hamlet s perception in the play. An individual s behaviour is believed to
mirror their mental state of mind; Shakespeare displays this reasoning through his play, Hamlet.

In Grant Penrod s Anti Intellectualism: Why We Hate the Smart Kids essay, he argues that
academic achievements should be acknowledged equally just as an athletic achievement. Smart
kids do not receive the acknowledgment that they deserve since society has a negative look
regarding smart kids. Anti Intellectualism is hostile feelings towards intellectuals or intellectual
thoughts. Society tends to celebrate non intellectuals. The essay talks about smart kids being
labeled social outcasts for the reason that average kids have separated themselves from kids
smarter than them. Smart kids feel as if they should retain their intelligence just to fit in a
judgmental world. Penrod s argument is effective because his topic is still relevant to today s time

The Main Reasons For The Fall Of Tsar Nicholas II In 1917
Was the impact of WW1 the main reason for the fall of Tsar Nicholas II in 1917?
The fall of the Romanov Dynasty in 1914 proved that the Tsar could not handle the problems of
Russia. Ironically, he would have been ideal as a constitutional monarch, but was adamant against
the idea. As the First World War started Russias problems arises, from short term and long term
causes. The war brought back inflation which led to demonstrations over food shortages
combined with workers grievances, (Hosking, 2012, p. 91) thus this destroyed Nicholas s image
as Father of Russia. Military became ineffective as the transport system was not adequate, thus
leading to food supplies decreasing in key cities such as Petrograd. Historians believe the
impacts of the First World War led to Russian society becoming unstable and was ultimately the
main reason of the downfall of the Tsar. However other factors, such as the Tsarina placing large
amounts of trust into Rasputin who was notorious for his reputation as an alcoholic and a
womanizer (Westwood, 2002, p. 215) and the role of the revolutionaries due to Lenin promising
peace, land and bread, eventually leading to the growth of the Bolsheviks Party. Although, it can
most rightfully be deemed that the impact of the war was the main reason for the fall of Tsar
Nicholas II in 1917.

Athena s Role In Greek Mythology
In the Homeric Hymn 28, Homer describes Athena as, the glorious Goddess, bright eyed,
inventive, unbending of heart, pure virgin, saviour of cities, courageous (Rayor 2014:90). In this
essay I will discuss the features of Athena that are emphasised in selected mythological tales. This
will be done in order to come to a conclusion on the nature of the Greek gods as opposed to the God
of Christian religion.
Homer continues in that same hymn to describe the process of Athena s birth. The myth
surrounding her birth is discussed in greater detail in The Encyclopaedia of Greek Roman
Mythology (Roman 2010:90). Roman explains that according to Hesoid s Theogony, Zeus
swallowed his first wife, the ocean nymph, Metis after he was informed that he would be
overthrown by their second child. Metis was however already pregnant with Athena. Zeus started
to experience excruciating headaches. He ordered Hephaestus to split open his skull with his axe.
Athena emerged, fully armed with a sharp spear, uttering warlike cries. The process of her birth is
symbolic of her domain over intellectual abilities. She is considered the goddess of wisdom, but is

Summary Of Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Quot. B. Dubois
Virginia Woolf and W.E.B. Dubois writings are both capable of illuminating the issues in their
respective social systems. While Woolf challenges the aristocracy and a woman s place, Dubois
focuses on the challenges met by the African American community. Virginia Woolf s character in
her novel Mrs. Dalloway, Lucrezia Smith, endures being a foreigner in a recovering war torn
London and also the wife of a former soldier battling the demons that battle as left him. In his essay,
Of Our Spiritual Strivings, Dubois describes the African Americancommunity as being both
American and Black and the standards that each identity requires. Dubois description of double
consciousness does not apply to Lucrezia Smith because while she experiences self consciousness
and duality she lacks the gift of second sight meant to accompany them.
Dubois describes the African American experience as a double consciousness. He theorizes that
the world yields him no true self consciousness; however he goes on to describe the experience
of having a dual consciousness as a sense of always looking at oneself through the eyes of others
(Dubois, 38). Self consciousness is defined as being hyperaware and concerned with the opinions
of others in relation to oneself, therefore Dubois has contradicted himself. The aspect of examining
oneself through the eyes of others shall hereafter be referred to as self consciousness for the sake
of clarity between the theory of double consciousness and the

Castiglione Vs Machiavelli Essay
In between the 14th and 17th century, a time period known as the Renaissance occurred, in which
modern literature, art, and music were revived and thrived throughout a large portion of Europe
that founded several differentiating ideas and views throughout its time. From the mid 1400s to
the mid 1500s several authors arose with varying views on how the government should act;
however, views such as these were strictly prohibited by both members of the Catholic church and
Protestant reformers, and were often viewed as heretical, which led to threats and attacks from
these people as a result. The recorded writings of three Renaissanceauthors, NiccolГІ Machiavelli,
Desiderius Erasmus, and Baldassare Castiglione, hold both similar and differing ideas, most notably
on the politics and government in their time.

In some situations female workers earn more than their male counterparts in areas that lack
women as workers (McGregor). As stated previously, the wage gap is a result of choices women
have made in their careers, either to take time off to care for children, or just accepting more
benefits as compensation. The only way the wage gap would be considerably linked to
inequality would be if women and men worked the same hours with the same benefits offered.
There is simply too many variables for the claim of a wage gap to be reasonable ( The Wage Gap
). As for women being targeted for sexual assault, that is true, but for valid reasons. Those who
would target males for sexual assault would be males and females who are attracted to men.
Male aggression is linked to presence of testosterone, which women have less of (cite

woman sexually assaulting an individual. A man can also assault a man, but 95% of men consider

Whether this pride is in yourself, or in a larger form, it is a fuel that keeps us moving and

Literary Style Of Washington Irving
Washington Irving, known as the father of American Literature, is known for his stories like
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Rip Van Winkle, The Devil and Tom Walker and many more. In
such famous works, Irving also shows many special literary devices, like using legends and
myths within the story. Other distinct styles are using the appearances of the people of the story
or even the setting. Irving would use special traits of characters and setting to describe or progress
the plot of the story. In stories like The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the protagonist, Ichabod Crane, is
described to be long and lanky with a curved beak like nose and large bulging green eyes. Not only
does his form make him sound like a humanoid crane, referring to his last name, his green eyes
describes him to be greedy, for the color green is typically known as a color for greed or envy. In
Rip Van Winkle, Rip is seen as a young man ready to hunt, but is suddenly distracted by helping
move a large container of liquor. Later he finds himself drinking some of the liquor and passes
out. Once he wakes up again, Rip finds that he doesn t look as young as he was when he fell
asleep and now has a long beard, the length of the beard showing the amount of time that had
passed. Irving would also utilize parallels from the environment to his characters. Consider the
house in the story The Devil and Tom Walker. In the beginning, the Walkers homes is described as,

Death as Analyzed through Socrates and Hamlet
Death, the one appointment we all must keep, and for which no time is set (Charlie Chan).
Although many believe it to be ominous, death, signifies an end to this earthly and material life;
the life of which we are sure of. Plato s Phaedo and Shakespeare s play Hamlet offer different
perspectives on the life we are unsure of, namely deathor the afterlife. Through the characters of
Socratesand Hamlet, readers are offered two contrasting outlooks on death. On one side, Hamlet is
haunted by the fear of the unknown, and leads his morality astray. Inversely, Socrates portrays a
man who is relieved by the prospect of death. Both Hamlet and Socrates demonstrate inherent
differences in their internal characteristics, but most notable difference is the characters
contrasting outlooks on the meaning of life and death. Socrates, considered the leader of
philosophy, WANTS to die, because only in the afterlife will he be able to see the truth without the
distractions of his body. Hamlet, on the other hand, fears what will happen in the afterlife. He
would like to escape his life, which at the moment is nothing short of depressing, but he worries
that the afterlife might prove to be a bad dream, even worse than his life at this moment.
In Phaedo, Socrates uses what he believes to be philosophical truths in order to convince his twice

Informative Essay On P1
The McLaren P1 The 2014 McLaren P1 is a fascinating car, a masterpiece one could say. With the
curves of BeyoncГ©, a paint job that s so smooth and crisp shown under any street lamp or the day
s sun could catch one s eye contact. The rims, and tires give the McLaren that last bit of touch it
would ever need, the body of a goddess. However, as one says, looks aren t everything. The
McLaren P1 has an engine that roars like a lion when you start it up and the per of a kitten as it

Hebrew Bible Identity
The origin of the Hebrew Bible is unknown, but scholars believe the earliest collections of
writings first five books date back to nearly 3,500 years ago. The Pentateuch consist of these first
five books. The Old Testament, which it is also known as, influenced its time period and still
continues to do so today. The exile of the Judean people led their scholars to preserve their cultural
identity through the Hebrew Bibles usage of chiasm, repetition, and kinesthetic imagery. Each
literary device was designed so the audience could memorize the details and elite could easily
pass down the stories orally. In a society where only the professional elite read and wrote, The
Bible was written down in a series of years by a serious of these elites. It is believed to be written
after the Babylonian Captivity. The Judean people were first exiled to Babylon, and forced to
assimilate into a society with a whole other creation myth. The people of Judah were uprooted
from their homes and forced to a new land, Babylon. However, the exile ended at approximately
538 BCE when Cyrus The Great conquered Persia and released the Jews back to Palestine. Upon
return, scholars believe the first words of The Bible were written. The first words were written
because in times of grief and despair, religious growth follows. So, when the Jews from Babylon
returned home, a sense of spiritual renewal occurred which forced the hands of scribes to document
their faith, (Barton 369).

She uses description techniques to create the ideal version of a character that puts an image in the mind of the reader. She wears gauzy blouses and braids. She likes to dance in the rain and she weeps uncontrollably if she sees a sign for a missing dog or cat. She might spin a globe, place her finger on a random spot, and decide to move there. Following this anecdote, she refocuses the piece, stating that such an individual shows up often in movies but never in real life. Kaling also plays to the common prejudice that females are meant to fit to male ideals. Roles like that of the Ethereal Weirdo actually perpetuate sexism and degrade the role of women in acting. Howard s vision of social reform achieved through community ownership of land never materialised. While Canberra was deeply touched by his idea, yet the direct economic impact is some what minimal. Garden city was subject to limited growth and limited population. Howard (1965) anticipated that the garden city would have a population of 30,000 32,000 in the town and other 2,000 in the agricultural lands. When the city reaches its limits, it would replicate itself in a new community separated by a greenbelt yet connected by railways. The published sketch in figure 1 suggests the garden city to be circular, though Howard (1965) conceded that the shape was suggestive. Canberra was not expected to be a large city. Reused based software engineering is a software engineering approach where the development process is geared to reusing recent software. One of the best efficient approaches to reuse is to create software product line engineering or application families. In recent years, software reusability has emerged as promising reusability approach, which brings out some important benefits such as increasing reusability of its core assets, while decreasing time to market. Software reusability has focal on two areas; domain engineering, in which the assets are de veloped for reuse, and application engineering where the core assets are being reused to generate specific... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reuse, as a software strategy for reducing development costs and refining quality, is not a new idea. Many past reuse agendas have fixated on the reuse of relatively small pieces of code. Organizations have developed reuse librar ies containing modules, components, algorithms and, ob jects. Almost anything a software developer develops goes into the library. Other developers are then urged to use what the library provides instead of creating their own ver sions. Unfortunately, it often takes longer to locate these small pieces and integrate them into a system than it would take to build them anew. Documentation might explain the situation for which the piece was created but not how it can be generalized or adapted to other situations. The benefits of small grained reuse depend on the predisposition of the software engineer to use what is in the library, the suitabil ity of what is in the library for the engineer s particular needs, and the successful adaptation and integration of the library units into the rest of the system. If reuse occurs at all under these conditions, it is fortuitous, and the payoff is usually nonexistent. Wilde uses obvious situational and dramatic irony within the play to satirize his time period. With a comedic approach, Wilde ridicules the absurdities of the character s courtship rituals, their false faces, and their secrets. The story deals with Ernest, this immorally imaginary man that both Cecily and Gwendolyn become engaged to, it exemplifies the irony within the name. Most of the irony comes from this character. Mongols were nomads from north of the Gobi Desert. They were first ruled by Genghis Khan, which means Universal Ruler . Temuchin, which is Genghis birth name, lived a rough early life. His father was poisoned by an enemy. When older, he decided to unite all the Mongol clans under one empire, making him one of the most powerful people of all time (BK Essay). The Mongol empire lasted for only 40 years, 1260 1300 A.D (Doc 1). Since then and before then, there hasn t been an empire so big, with so many advances. Even though there were many destructions throughout the process of the making of the Mongol Empire, they should be remembered as an innovative empire because it was the biggest empire in the world and still managed to be prosperous, it was tolerant towards all races/religions and people and knew how to protect it, and last, but not least, it made it s own government and its own way of governing it. The word e antebellum, means before the war, and reform, means the improvement of what is wrong. The Antebellum period made transportation more efficient for people who traveled. The Transportation Revolution provided several new, reliable, safe and cost effective ways to travel to different parts of the nation, including new land in the west. The transportation Revolution changed America by new types of transportation, economic growth, expansion, and factory system growth. Roads and canals will shorten distances, effortless way to get somewhere, and facilitate commercial and personal communication. The first roads in America were developed by early settlers. The National Roadwas the first highway built entirely with federal funds. The road was authorized by Congress in 1806 during the Jefferson Administration ( The National Road par. 1). The first 10 miles of roads were built. Wagons were slow and very difficult to use on dirt roads because of the weather. In 1811, the federal government opened the national road connecting Cumberland, Maryland to Ohio River. • 23. Female Film Directors and the British Film Industry In this essay I will be discussing whether female filmmakers in Britain find it easier to make a documentary feature than a fiction feature film in the current British film industry. I will be referring to the opinions and films of Kim Longinotto, Carol Morley, Clio Barnard and Alison Stirling. I will also be looking at the statistics from filmfestivals and the British Film Institute, and interviews with various British female filmmakers. I will argue that documentaries are easier to make due to them being less expensive to make and not requiring a large crew. I will try to show that female filmmakers are less like to get funding for a fiction feature film due to the people that make the decisions in terms of granting funding for... Between February 13 and July18, 2015 the Brigham Young University Museum of Art is exhibiting Deco Japan: Shaping Art and Culture, 1920 1945, an exhibition curated by Dr. Kendall Brown. The exhibit was collected in an attempt to detail the cultural transformation that took place in Japan from the Roaring Twenties all the way through the end of World War II. The exhibit displays the tension between the deep national cultureand the up and coming cosmopolitan lifestyle. Dr. Brown gathered art of all variations, ranging from paintings to sculptures to ordinary household objects. Deco Art itself is a reflection of changing world cultures. It was born in France post World War I as a sort of marriage between craft motifs and the industrial age, characterized by wealthy and bold looking colors and shapes. The art form is well depicted in the decoration of the Rockefeller Center in New York or any of the art and decor found in the movie The Great Gatsby. This striking form represented the glamour of the age. In a great sense, the period represented a change from conservative to a more liberal view on life. This was no different in Japan. The period observed through the art pieces is one of extreme tension between two very different lifestyles. The fall of the Romanov Dynasty in 1914 proved that the Tsar could not handle the problems of Russia. Ironically, he would have been ideal as a constitutional monarch, but was adamant against the idea. As the First World War started Russias problems arises, from short term and long term causes. The war brought back inflation which led to demonstrations over food shortages combined with workers grievances, (Hosking, 2012, p. 91) thus this destroyed Nicholas s image as Father of Russia. Military became ineffective as the transport system was not adequate, thus leading to food supplies decreasing in key cities such as Petrograd. Historians believe the impacts of the First World War led to Russian society becoming unstable and was ultimately the main reason of the downfall of the Tsar. However other factors, such as the Tsarina placing large amounts of trust into Rasputin who was notorious for his reputation as an alcoholic and a womanizer (Westwood, 2002, p. 215) and the role of the revolutionaries due to Lenin promising peace, land and bread, eventually leading to the growth of the Bolsheviks Party. Virginia Woolf s character in her novel Mrs. Dalloway, Lucrezia Smith, endures being a foreigner in a recovering war torn London and also the wife of a former soldier battling the demons that battle as left him. In his essay, Of Our Spiritual Strivings, Dubois describes the African Americancommunity as being both American and Black and the standards that each identity requires. Dubois description of double consciousness does not apply to Lucrezia Smith because while she experiences self consciousness and duality she lacks the gift of second sight meant to accompany them. Dubois describes the African American experience as a double consciousness. He theorizes that the world yields him no true self consciousness; however he goes on to describe the experience of having a dual consciousness as a sense of always looking at oneself through the eyes of others (Dubois, 38). Self consciousness is defined as being hyperaware and concerned with the opinions of others in relation to oneself, therefore Dubois has contradicted himself. Castiglione Vs Machiavelli Essay In between the 14th and 17th century, a time period known as the Renaissance occurred, in which modern literature, art, and music were revived and thrived throughout a large portion of Europe that founded several differentiating ideas and views throughout its time. Other distinct styles are using the appearances of the people of the story or even the setting. Irving would use special traits of characters and setting to describe or progress the plot of the story. Although many believe it to be ominous, death, signifies an end to this earthly and material life; the life of which we are sure of. Plato s Phaedo and Shakespeare s play Hamlet offer different perspectives on the life we are unsure of, namely deathor the afterlife. Through the characters of Socratesand Hamlet, readers are offered two contrasting outlooks on death. On one side, Hamlet is haunted by the fear of the unknown, and leads his morality astray. Inversely, Socrates portrays a man who is relieved by the prospect of death. Both Hamlet and Socrates demonstrate inherent differences in their internal characteristics, but most notable difference is the characters contrasting outlooks on the meaning of life and death. Socrates, considered the leader of philosophy, WANTS to die, because only in the afterlife will he be able to see the truth without the distractions of his body.
