to the word greasy and how it is used during this short story. the word greasy is indicating that the
persons manners or behaviors are effusively polite in a way that is felt to be insincere and
repulsive. Also it is based off of Bruce Springsteen s song Spirit in the Night. The lyrics It s about
a mile down on the dark side of Route 88 . The story focuses on three nineteen year old men
living in a time (probably the 1960 s) the authors origin and motive of this story is to show the
view of his childhood and the hell that he rose in the 80 s, time period and we can relate to this

The majority of male characters in Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion appear to be fundamentally
flawed in some important way. Freddy Eynsford Hill is raised as a gentleman and, thus, is a fool
who has trouble hailing a cab, let alone finding any suitable occupation for himself. Henry
Higgins is well educated but ill mannered, alienating him from society due to his inconsideration
for others. Alfred Doolittle appears to lack any sort of morals and seems equally free from fear
and conscience. The only male figure who stands out is Colonel Pickering, who seems talented,
respectful, and compassionate compared to his competition. Even so, Pickering is only

Coraghessan Boyle is a coming of age story about an adolescent boy and his two friends on their
journey to self awareness The protagonist and his friends create a bad boy facade in order to fit
in, but as the story unravels, they begin to remove their disguise in their discovery that what is in
trend is not always morally right. The protagonist, who is also the narrator of the story, transitions
from a naГЇve boy who is a rebellious exhibitionist unsure of his true identity to a more mature
